Hubie is having a birthday and it's on Friday the 13th. He is worried his friends won't want to come to his party or that they won't bring any presents. His teacher suggests they all dress up as their favorite superstition and he hopes that will entice his friends to come to his party. Easy read. my 3rd grader enjoyed it.
This book is about a kid whose birthday is on a Friday the 13th. It's a bad day cause that's the day everyone has bad luck but he has the worst luck than anyone else. He wants presents but there is none.
Hubie va a tener su fiesta de cumpleaños pero cae en un terrible Viernes 13, día de la mala suerte... ¿Quién podrá más: la fiesta de cumpleaños de Hubie o la superstición. Libros para niños pequeños con un montón de diversión.
10/7/21 - Another in the series of somewhat cute books. Probably more suitable for reluctant reader boys in 1st or 2nd grade. It was fun, and better than the Valentine's one, but just okay for me.
I found book #32 in my oldest child’s backpack, must have been from the time the school had book swap day. I read it to him & it was so much fun. So I selected another book from the series to read to my 6 year old twins. Friday the 13th was appropriate for two reasons, they love spooky stuff and, like Hubie, they were born on September 13th which was actually a Friday! Well, the storyline is captivating, never know where it might take you. Can’t wait to read them another book from the Black Lagoon series. However, next time, they’ll read it to me!
Fun book to read with my first grader. It had some challenging words for her and was a quick 20 min read . Not our all time favorite but still deserved some credit because she didn't want to put it down.
