I have PANS, the author is very set when talking about Titers and strep. She is most likely semi biased due to her son Sammy. I’ve had symptoms since 5 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition two years later ( JIA). But of course I was in elementary school super normal for me to get sick easily. I had strep a mass amount during those year my primary doctor was not very giving on Antibiotics. 8 Years later I had been to the psych ward 3 times in one year. In total I stayed for 3 months. I have a psychiatrist who doesn’t believe in it but my new primary doctor believes in it due to personal experience. I had been in 7th grade when I got mycoplasma pneumonia 4 TIMES. I had really bad psychiatric symptoms and my rheumatoid arthritis and my disautonomia were in a flare. Sooo 😑 I Don’t love certain parts of this book because my doctor when I was five only thought PANS PANDAS were caused from strep but she still denied. But I have “ proof” blood work wise BUT NOT A TITER I forget how this was leveled but I had mycoplasma pneumonia in my blood. Plus I was denied treatment due to me not having tics and then of course I developed 3 years after that appointment. BUT SOMETHING I CAN TELL PARENTS CHILDRENS HOSPITAL DOES NOT BELIEVE IN ANTIBIOTICS WITH PANS PANDAS THEY ONLY GIVE YOU PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATION.
