Realistic sounds. Speech bubbles great to indicate which which animal is making which sound, in the final ensemble shot of the various farm animals. Buttons perhaps a little difficult to press to activate sounds. A sequel could include more mechanical sounds like farm machinery, or perhaps the sounds of a nearby abattoir.
(5☆ Would recommend & would read again) Great book to teach animals. The tactile and audible aspects help little ones engage in the book. This can be a little annoying for parents, especially if kids repeatedly press the buttons. But the love for books that this book creates is worth it.
There is too much going on with this board book, in my opinion. Touch-and-feel books are a fun novelty; books with sound (while annoying) can be fun for kids. This, unfortunately, in an attempt to cater to the screen-loving infant crowd of the 2020s, employs both. As a result, neither are made special and they sort of cancel each other out in terms of paying attention to something.
Touch and feel + sound is always entertaining for little ones. However, the rooster touch and feel texture is pretty disappointing (it's just textured paper). More importantly, the text itself is very unexciting. Very matter of fact. Could be more interesting or at least have more rhythm.
CUTE! This is a fun book to make animal sounds to, as silly as that sounds.. such a fun way to engage the little readers and teach them that reading really can be fun! I loved the textures and other interruptions in this book. I'd put this book on my shelf.
If the buttons were easier for my child to push it’d be five star. The noises are realistic which scared her at first but around age 2 she really started enjoying it.
A fine book, but the construction isn’t as good in terms of buttons: after about 7 months they’re just becoming a little easier to press (even for adults!) very tough bottoms for little fingers.
Love to read this book with my 11 month old grandson. He loves to touch the animals and everytime we press for the sounds, he smiles and laughs, EVERY SINGLE TIME.
The realism of this literature is so artistically presented. The cry’s of the animals brings up the question and conversation of the possible dystopian future of these farm animals. Why must we force these animals to scream for our entertainment, while we mock at their suffering? This book shows the absolute terror of a farm but also reflects that small voices must be heard.

This very cute farm book is great for little kids. It shows pictures of all the different farm animals and the even have little patches of the animals fur with each picture so that the reader can feel the animal. There is also sound effects with this book. Each animal makes a noise in the story, this is very helpful for kids who can't actually read yet. This way they can be left alone to look at the pictures and match pictures to the sounds even when they can't read what the words say. The pictures and colors in the book are all very bright and appealing to the eye. Each animals gives a different little fact with it, whether it is what it eats, where it sleeps, or even fun facts like horses being the fastest animals on the farm. This book would be great to have at home for your children who aren't school aged yet to read and practice learning their farm animal names, looks, and noises with.
Noise, noise and more noise is what parents and toddlers will hear with this fun book of animal sounds. Pat the cow lives in a barn with her spotted calf. Cows like to eat grass and they also love to MOO! Noise is just a part of this colorful teaching tool that offers real photography along with cool texture spots on all of the animals featured. Young readers can hear the sounds these familiar animals make and also touch and feel them too.
This sturdy board book will teach children to play and explore with these familiar animals. Parents and teachers can use this tool to inspire other games and really get little ones interacting and learning. Board books are also great for teaching toddlers how to use a book.
This book is so fun, with fuzzy places to rub my fingers on and funny sounds. I like when mom makes the pig sound.
1/9/17 read this again, mom is reading a lot of animal books right now. This book makes sounds when I push a button, that is so cool. I could push the buttons all day. I still think the pig sounds are funny but my favorite is the cow. moooooooooooo!
