Provides information on women's hormonal dysfunctions, including evidence from research indicating that common environmental toxins and lifestyle factors contribute to conditions including depression, diabetes, and panic attacks.
Aside from its incredibly stupid title (no pun intended), this book contains a wealth of information related to women's reproductive health, specifically all things hormone related. In depth explorations of a variety of interrelated topics, symptoms, experiences, etc. are offered in accessible language. Dr. Vliet advocates for women and admits that typical western medicine does more shuffling and dismissing of patients than actual problem solving, which has been my personal experience. I found a lot of information in this book that I had been looking for that my general practitioner couldn't provide me and that I could not locate on the internet. I would love to see an updated edition of this text since the last edition was published in 2003. A definite book to consider reading for those who are interested in the topic.
this book is a great resource from a totally-non-quack-y dr. learn all about how your hormones affect all your other body systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, cognitive, etc etc). if you have any health (physical or mental) issues that follow your cycle, you need to read this book! if you have any health issues at all, you need to read this book and see how your hormones might be interacting with these issues. i know way more now about endocrinology.
