While playing in the snow on Christmas morning, Daisy and Sam Mouse see an "angel" fall from the sky, and when they share their Christmas treats to help it revive, the goose leaves a special present behind.
This is a really nice story about the power of sharing, It shows that you don't have to expect anything in return, except possibly helping a total stranger in their time of need! This is a good discussion starter for sharing, the meaning of gifts, and the power small friends can have too. This story is a nice alternative to consumerism at Christmastime.
What a beautiful Christmas story. Two little mice see a white goose fall from the sky, tired and hungry. They think she's an angel because of her beautiful white wings. They bring the goose the berries and nuts they received as Christmas presents, which refresh her enough that she's able to rejoin her flock. As she flies off, she sheds some feathers, which will help line the nest they sleep in with their mother. Lovely illustrations as well.
On Christmas morning, Daisy and Sam are surprised by their wonderful gifts of nuts and berries. After saving their gifts for later they rush out to play in the snow. As they slip and slide they noticed something flying high above.
Daisy and Sam see a snow angel but something happens, the angel falls from the sky. They rush to help the angel. Through love and little bit of Christmas spirit they nurse the angel so that she may fly again. When the sun streaks the sky the angel takes flight thanking them and wishing them a Merry Christmas.
As she is flying away it begins to snow again only this time it is snow white glistening feathers. Daisy and Sam gather them and rush home to tell their mom how on Christmas Day they met a real angel. That night as all three are tucked in their beds, Daisy exclaims "This was the best Christmas ever!" And as Sam drifts off to sleep he sees the feathers shining in the darkness, like twinkling stars in the frosty sky.
"The Snow Angel" is a wonderful read. Considered an easy reader. I would recommend as a gift for Christmas.
Absolutely beautiful. The cover art is so inviting. This is not a story of the usual snow angel you picture this time of year. Great story of a beautiful swan and adorable little mice who help each out one cold snowy night. It makes you go ahhhhhhh...... and you have to feel the pages. It is a wonderland for the senses.
In this wintery Christmas story, two little mice see a white goose fall into a snowbank and mistake it for an angel. They feed and care for the "angel" until it is strong enough to fly away. The bird's bright white feathers sparkle throughout the book, and it leaves a gift for the mice when it departs. A sweet picture book for preschoolers.
This is a beautiful story; Christmas or not; the meaning behind the story was wonderful. The illustrations were just as pretty. My nearly 4 year old granddaughter and I both enjoyed this story. What one sees with their heart may not be what their eyes sees but it truly is the meaning of how life should be, not just at Christmas.
Nice story of doing good to others! The snow angel (goose) is tired and needs help to get where she's headed for the winter. The mice help on Christmas Day and the snow angel gives back for the mice to have a warm winter sleep.
Daisy and Sam see a Snow Angel (goose) on Christmas Day. When they show kindness, gifts are given. I loved the partnering of the glitter on the pages/goose. It really added to the atmosphere of the story.
A gorgeously illustrated story about some mice and a goose. The spirit of giving and generosity are woven throughout the pages and it's a fun book to read aloud.
