Just to be clear, I'm reviewing all but my own poem in the forward. I don't review my own stuff. Aside from that, I was really pleased to see the other poems in this collection. When a collection like this is done well, and this one is, everything is still tied together by a common thread even though disparate voices are looking at life through a single, agreed lens. However, there's something special about bourbon and there's something special about these poems. They're new to me, but have a quality of something I'm remembering...perhaps like something whispered by ghosts. It's like bourbon (which really does fit the collection), each bourbon is different...but each good one is like coming back to an old home.
Excellent collection of independent poetry focused around bourbon. Several styles, different views, and very gripping. Hard to put down because you always want to read just one more.
