As a college football star and a waitress stave off cold loneliness through one hot holiday break, a passion begins that will carry them both all the way into the NFL.

Striving to escape her past, reformed party girl and biker chick Aubrey Harper finds herself tending bar over Christmas break. Then her secret crush walks into the pub.

Star football player Braxton Davis has his own reasons for not going home, and when loneliness drives him to a bar near campus he finds tough-girl Aubrey mixing drinks and serving smartass comments. After one look, the two know they won't be spending their Christmas alone. After a mysterious and devastating text message and a burnt hamburger lead to dinner, dessert, and two nights of passion, the rest of their lives look promising as well. This relationship is going all the way to the bigs.

USA Today bestselling author Jami Davenport writes sexy contemporary, new adult, and sports romances, including Gone Missing, Seattle Sockeyes, and The Scoring Series.

Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Army Ranger-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland drool monster, and a prince disguised as an orange tabby cat.

Jami worked in IT for years and is also a former high school business teacher but recently achieved a life-long dream of being a full-time author. A horse lover since birth, Jami showed dressage horses for over thirty years. Now she gardens and goes glamping, along with other travelling adventures. She's a lifetime Seahawks and Mariners fan, and has season tickets to the Seattle Kraken hockey team. She still misses her SuperSonics.

An avid boater, Jami has spent countless hours in the San Juan Islands, a common setting in her books. In her opinion, it's the most beautiful place on earth.

I’ve never read a first-person new adult genre story, but I liked it...a lot. Braxton and Aubrey are diverse and believable. The snow is deep, the attraction immediate, and the sex hot. A nice kick off for the Lumberjacks Rookies stories and I’m looking forward to more.

Sexy fun read

Sexy fun read that I recommend for everyone 18+ Staying on campus for Christmas should have been terrible but for Brax and Aubrey it's anything but!

Tough Love

Braxton is a star quarterback for the Grizzly's, Aubrey is a tough cookie waitress at the campus bar. It's Christmas and there is a blizzard outside, what can two people attracted to one another possibly do? Get to "know" each other of course! This book is sweet, sexy, soulful and a little bit erotic! I love The Lumberjack Series and this will only make them better! I would definitely recommend this quick read! Enjoy!

Too short, needs more plot.

You were just getting into the story when it ended. Needs more of a story line of what happens. It was good till then.

Christmas in Seattle

Very short but enough time for two lonely hearts to find each other. Now can they make it last? Read to see.

I really enjoyed Aubrey and Brax, but feel like it ended before their story was over.

Read this yesterday. It was interesting but more like a good start to a story with set ups for potential problems that never really receive resolutions. Brax saying different things won't matter to him in the future is not in my opinion a resolution because you can't really know how someone is going to act until something actually occurs. Had this been a full length novel where issues were faced and dealt with I think I would have really liked it but as it stands, too much telling not enough showing and too much backstory without real time effects and follow through shown for me to really care for the book.

Christmas Break is a sweet story. A college quarterback who is destined for the NFL, Braxton Davis, meets waitress and fellow student, Aubrey Harper, as they are spending Christmas break alone at school. They are the typical opposites that attract scenario.

It's a novella so it barely touches the surface of a solid storyline or character development; however, it's a teaser for more. They are both strong yet broken, sexy, and lovable. It's been two plus years since this was released so I hope Davenport will follow through on the development of the Rookie series as it has a myriad of potential.

This novella was really, really short...only 8 chapters & the largest chapter was 16 pages. It's the introduction of Braxton & Aubrey, 2 college students staying back at school over the Christmas break. They are totally opposite personalities, he's the jock & she's the tough girl(or so we think). Meeting in the restaurant/bar the day before Christmas Eve they find themselves drawn together to spend the holidays with each other. They fall fast & hard for each other but she has a secret that could ruin his chances in the NFL. Looking forward this their full story to come out soon.

Christmas storms and meeting strangers!

Aubrey decided to stay at school and work at the bar instead of going home for Christmas when she serves football player Braxton Davis. Braxton had stayed at school because he had a bowl game to practice for and his family had gone on a cruise.

Christmas in Seattle is a reissue of another story but I liked the story because it shows Aubrey and Braxton meeting for the first time even though they are in the same major at college.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
This was a great beginning for a very anticipated first novel in this series. Braxton, kind of cocky in a sexy way, sets his sights on a beautiful but rough college waitress... Sparks fly. I can't wait to read the rest of their story.

Braxton and Audrey's was amazing, but it left you wanting more!

Braxton is the legend at school, and Audrey is the exact opposite. She thinks her tainted past will harm his chances at being drafted.

Does this story leave you wanting more? Yes, I can't wait for the rest of this story!

This book is the first book in a spin off series to of Jami’s fantastic Lumberjack Series. The only thing bad thing I can say about this book, is that it was wayyyyyyyyy too short!
