*Warning: these spoilers all happen in the first chapter.

So let me get this straight.

This story starts off with a married couple who adore each other, have children and are super happy and in love. Wife dies giving birth to their 5th or something son. Sister in law shows up while he is grieving for his wife and devastated over the loss and wasted off his ass. She comes in to "comfort" him and thinking its his wife he fucks the sister in law. She doesn't stop him btw. She had more than enough time to stop him but doesn't until the very very end then suddenly she gets all butt hurt 'cause he ruined her.

Oh but that's okay because hey, she's been in love with him since forever and she's sure her deceased sister would have wanted her to be mother to her children and take care of the husband.

He feels terrible about the whole thing, actually feels like he's betrayed the memory of his wife and honestly viewed the sister in law like a real blood sister and feels incestuous about the whole thing....but i'm supposed to believe he falls in love with her?

I'm not sure where to start on this one. I didn't like it. It not only had too much going on, and every disaster known to man except for maybe drought was present, neither the h or the H were particularly likeable. Eriean (sp) was dumb as a post and it took her about 30 minutes to forgive John for raping her, and John went from jealous to not very apologetic for it so many times in the book that I lost count. Apart from that the writing was pretty choppy, and the dialogue was so unrealistic that I had to read it out loud to myself to make sure it was as dumb as it sounded.

The premise was good. The execution not so much.
