Lyssa and Jacob, owners of the swingers’ club Puss and Boots, have been living an active swingers lifestyle ever since their two children moved out of the house. Every couple months they hire a “live-in,” a girl who in exchange for room, board, and a paycheck provides sex on demand.
Danielle and Stewart met each other at a swingers’ club eight years ago. They fell in love and married, soon becoming regulars at Puss and Boots before obtaining their own private room in the club.
JuJu and Ferrari are the epitome of opposites attract. She’s fifty, he’s thirty. She is wild and outgoing and he is reserved and laid-back. She’s a millionaire former model; he’s a college dropout wannabe model. They’ve been going to Puss and Boots since the club opened two years ago.
Tori and Kevin always talked about experimenting with threesomes and group sex but never made time to act on their thoughts and wishes. Well, it’s Kevin’s thirtieth birthday, and what better gift than a surprise visit to Puss and Boots?
Swing is the story of the treacherous and steamy collisions in the lives of these four couples. Roped with sultry scandals and lustful lies, this novella will propel readers to their highest highs and drop them to their lowest lows.

A life changing event for me occurred at my college graduation in May of 2003. National bestselling author, Karen E. Quinones Miller, was the keynote speaker. She delivered a speech about how she had written a book, self-published it and sold so many copies on her own that major publishing houses fought to offer her a deal. I sat amongst my graduating class fully alert and attentive. It was as if Karen was talking directly to me, telling me to bypass trying to get a job in advertising copywriting and follow my true passion of becoming an author. I was unquestionably inspired and two months after graduation I began writing my first novel, Secret Society. Three months later I had a complete manuscript and was ready to move on to the next step.
I conjured up the nerve to email Karen and let her know that she had motivated me to pursue my goals of being a writer and that I had completed my first book. I asked her for tips on self-publishing. She simply told me to let self-publishing be my last resort and that I should first seek a publishing deal. I took her advice and researched the ways to go about submitting a manuscript. I sent a query letter, a synopsis, and the first three chapters of my book to Teri Woods Publishing. Teri Woods was known for publishing urban novels and thus I figured she would be interested in Secret Society. Teri Woods was not only interested, but wanted to buy my book outright and on top of that offer me a five-book deal. I was astonished. The only thing I had to do was write a second book to prove to Teri that I could produce.
I wrote Diary of a Mistress and shortly thereafter I was poised to go to New York to sign a deal with Teri Woods. I was excited and anxious, yet nervous. I was new to the publishing industry and I wasn't sure what the contract should look like, what type of deal was appropriate and most of all if selling my book outright was a smart thing to do. Once again, I conjured up the nerve to email Karen. That time she responded by telling me to call her and her telephone number was in the body of the email. She advised me not to sell my book outright and that I needed someone knowledgeable to attend the meeting with me. After realizing that her own schedule wouldn't permit her to accompany me, she took a chance and asked her agent to do so. Liza Dawson, Karen's agent, agreed to read my manuscripts over the weekend and let me know Monday whether or not she would be willing to represent me. I immediately emailed both manuscripts to Karen and Liza.
The next day I got a call from Liza telling me how good of a writer I was and offering to be my agent. I accepted and the next thing I knew, I had three major publishing houses interested in signing me. Teri Woods was notified of this and was asked for her bid. By Monday, an auction was held. Simon and Schuster was the highest bidder offering a six-figure advance and a two-book deal far exceeding my expectations as a new, unpublished author. I was in awe. Everything that has happened from then on has been a joyride. I am living my dreams and it is with thanks to Karen E. Quinones Miller. I often wonder what I would be doing or where I would be had it not been for Karen's speech those few years ago. There's no telling. But I know for sure that I am grateful that she told her story because it was truly the beginning of the success I enjoy today. Now, I feel it is my obligation to pass it on.

I'm afraid I don't get all the enthusiastic reviews for this book or writer. It is average at best. Had it remained an erotic novel about the lifestyle of swingers instead of a poorly executed cable tv drama with murder and mystery and abuse and well, a lot of fluff. It might have been better.
Misha always keeps you very engrossed. I have been a fan since her first book. Swing is a novella told from different points of views. Those points of views are the significant others of 4 couples. They are in various stages of their relationships. They are all involved in a swingers club named Puss and Boots. They range from Lyssa and Jacob who own it, to VIP members Danielle and Stewart, to first timers Tori and Kevin... There is another couple Juju and Ferrari who served a purpose but, whose storyline didn't resonate with me. It's a quick read. But definitely worth a look.
This is a straight up SEX book!! It will leave you fanning yourself from some of the sex scenes but there isn't really any plot. You follow four couples that are all involved in this sex club....things happen from there, descriptive sex scenes, abuse, some shady dealings, and not much else. It was okay for what it was...a short super sexy story.
This specific video review will be included in the May 2018 wrap-up.

I was excited when I saw this at my library, but the story was just meh. Cliché and even the plot twists didn't excite me. Miasha could have done can do better.
So this book looked interesting enough. It was supposed to be a dramatic erotica about swingers, what could possibly go wrong? Well huge amounts of polyphobia and mono-eltism is what.
There were eight main characters (all straight couples of course) that interacted with each other throughout the plot. Two owned the club, two were VIPs of the club, two were frequent visitors, and two were newbies. There was a mix of wealth and experience, but there was a huge issue: all of the characters hid their sexuality. All of the characters found it shameful and went out of their way to hide it.
The characters were either cheating on their spouse, abusing their spouse, abusing others through non-consentual video recordings, or killing each other. There was not a couple that was healthy. The couples that were “happily” married didn’t have to cheat on their spouses, but the ones who opened up to swinging just used it as a step to get away from their partner or as another way to control them. The problem is that is not how the swinging community really is. Most couples do not engage in intense physical abuse or even hiring of a hitman. This book was awful. It sacrificed what could have been a really hot book for piss-poor four-ways and over the top drama.
Not all swingers engage in sex as a group which this book says is pretty much the other way. Orgies are the swingers’ real calling is what is being shown, when many swingers are just your average Joe who wants to swap wives. Pretty much avoid this book if you want good sex scenes, kinky sex, consensual sex, non-prostitution, and honesty. This book lacked any form of decent sexuality (decent meaning RACK or SSC approved sexualities).
Enjoyed this book for what it was...Erotica but didn’t understand the quickly thrown in plot twist to perhaps give characters depth and make book into novel length. Loose ends are for hour dramas.
I was very excited about this book, being the very opened minded person I am i wanted to read about the lifestyle and enjoy it. But instead tje author made it shameful, wrong, lies being told, and would pretty much deter anyone from wanting to experiment with this life style, plus everyone was straight... huge huge disappointment. I made myself finish the book but i definitely didn't want to.

Almost gave this book 5 stars, it was very well written unlike a lot of urban fiction these days, Miasha is one of the genre's "OGs", it was also fast paced, so much I finished in a day in a half. I do like the interweaving of the couples into one narrative and the storyline was overall good...but what took it a star down is having a woman who's a multimillionare and supermodel named "Juju", that is not at all real life believable, in the book you find out her name was Judith, I think her name should have remained Judith throughout the book. What took it another star down was the ending...it seemed rushed, sitcom-ish and pretentious. Started off great...ended ehhh.
I liked the twists and turns throughout the book. I didn’t like that the ending was rushed and still had a lot of unanswered questions. But, it is an engaging book and I would still recommend it to someone who wants a short, fast-paced story to read.
Can you say... HOT! Couldn't put this book down. Had never read a book by Miasha before this one, and after I can definitely say I am a big fan. Loved the entire story line, plot twists, characters... everything! Worth the read.
Lyssa and Jacob, owners of the exclusive swingers club Puss and Boots have been active in swinging since their children moved out the house. They even have a ‘live in’ every few months to be on call for their sexual desires and demands. Sounds like a win- win for Lyssa and Jacob right? Well what happens when one of them gets a little too close to the current ‘live in?’ Trying to hide their lifestyle from their children they are both about to get a rude awakening.
Kevin and Tori have not been married for long, but Tori decides to surprise Kevin for his 30th birthday to an outing at Puss and Boots, where all his and her sexual fantasies can be fulfilled. What was supposed to be a fun night, turns out to be one that has a lasting effect on their relationship. Could Tori have had a hidden agenda on going to Puss and Boots? Little do either one of them know that their happy marriage is about to take a major turn.
JuJu and Ferrari have been married for years. JuJu is a wealthy beautiful woman, successful from modeling in her younger years (now age 50) she is married to Ferrari who is twenty-years younger. Ferrari is a sexy man by all accounts, one thing JuJu does to keep the spice alive in their marriage is to frequent Puss and Boots. When one particular encounter with another couple seems too intimate, JuJu is intent on making Ferrari pay…but when JuJu goes too far things take a turn for the worst.
Danielle and Stewart actually met one another a swingers club years ago…fell in love and married. They also happen to be the VIP members at Puss and Boots where they frequent often. The question is are they going to Puss and Boots for the sex or are they going there for another reason?
Swing by Miasha is a story of four couples, each one seemingly happy, yet as the saying goes ‘what looks good on the outside, is not necessarily good.’ Swing is a story of sex and lies. Although, the story flowed well and was quick, it was entirely too short for this particular tale. There is no timeline…so the reader is unsure on how much time has passed between some of the scenes. A timeline is important to any story especially with certain types of plots. Not to mention that there are quite a few scenes that made no sense. (Example: the hotel scene.) There needed to be timeline, the story needed to be more descriptive and scenes needed to be played out, not just told matter of fact like. It needed that how, when and why factor. Swing had the potential to be a good story but it just lacked too much.
I have a read a couple of books that deals with this subject line - the swinging lifestyle. I received this review book and was like, “Ok sounds very interesting but wow this small book.” After reading I was left feeling my originally thoughts, this book was way too small. While this had potential to be a great book there is too much missing. Too many characters, four couples in all, to give each the attention they deserved. The timeline is next to nil. The ending seems like the author was saying, “I need to end this and end this quick.” It is such a quick read that you really don’t have time to connect with characters, before you know it, it is over.
Four couples take the forefront each seemingly very happy in their marriage, and each with their own set of problems that gets revealed one by one. Most of those secrets were no shock to me. Some of the scenes had me looking like seriously this best you have? This story needed to be evolved more and showed what made these characters tick. I felt like I didn’t know them even after reading whole story.
While this is my first read by this author I can tell she has a grasp on storytelling, she just missed the mark. Mostly I think because this should have been a full length novel. I will try her work again but it will be a full length novel as her novella didn’t fulfill me.
SiStar Tea ARC Book Club Inc. 2.75 Star Aug Review
This book gives you a glimpse into the lives of four couples, each of which appears drastically different on the surface but all manage to be connected by one deep dark secret....their participation at a swingers club. The book follows them on their journey as they deal with the consequences of their actions.
The author did a wonderful job at portraying each story individually even as characters tended to cross paths. The whole thing flows nicely and definitely keeps you hooked, whether your reading to find out what is happening to your favorite couple or simply because you can't believe the scandal that is unfolding with the 155 pages.
That being said this book is definitely intended for an adult audience who don't mind the occasional raunchy text.
* I did receive this book complimentary as an advanced readers copy from Goodreads First Reads. All opinions are my own.
To Swing – according to Merriam-Webster this means to shift or fluctuate from one condition, form, position, or object of attention or favor to another: also, to engage freely in sex. Author MIASHA successfully takes us right there to the dirty goings on at the Puss & Boots Swingers Club and then she takes us out on the road and inside the private lives of her deceptively innocent characters.
Swing is the tale of 4 couples whose secrets if exposed threaten to destroy more than their own relationships: Owners Lyssa and Jacob, regulars Danielle and Stewart, May December duo, Juju and Ferrari, and just getting into it couple, Tori and Kevin. Just who are the innocent parties here and who will do whatever it takes to protect the one that they love?
Swing is a very entertaining read: devious characters, murderous lovers, plot twists, and plenty of hot sex. Who could ask anything more?
I loved it!!! I was lucky enough to receive this book for free through Goodreads First Reads! These four couples were something else. Miasha left me wanting to know even more about them. The sex, drama, lies, secrets, and deception revolving around these four couples was unbelievable. Swing shows how the lack of trust and honesty can make the lifestyle go bad. I read this novella in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next and how everything would end. I personally don't think the dramas are over. There seemed like so much more to come. I would love to read more on these characters. It doesn't seem like the story is finished. I highly recommend this book to others.
I was in between finishing one book and waiting to pick up my hold from the library, so I wanted a book that was short and easy and I could get through quickly. I happened across this title while I was working, so I decided to check it out.
First of all, I don't read erotica. Pages of sex scenes bore me to death. I'm not a prude, I just don't like to read overly long descriptions about it. The story was told in alternating views from a few couples, and I was intrigued to see where the story would go.
The first half of the book is mostly just sex. That tapers off though, and we get more into the nitty gritty of the stories. We got some murder and mayhem and lots of misbehaving. The writing leaves a bit to be desired. This is pretty much fluff and not to be taken too seriously.
Swing is an erotic novel that follows four couples whose lives cross paths while at a swing club. Each couple appears, at first, to be very happy; but as the story progresses, scandals and lies permeate through the lives of each character. This book did not take me long to read (only 155 pages, paperback). The author switches back and fourth between each of the four couples' point of views without slowing down or confusing the story. There is a surprise or 2 that I wasn't expecting. Swing would make a great "buddy" read for couples.

Review of Swing by Miasha Release Date: May 2014 Publisher: Infamous Book Age Group: 18 and up Format: Book Source: Library Thing
All I can say is wow. This was the first book that I’ve ever read by Miasha and I was thoroughly blown away. Although there weren’t a lot of pages, you were able to get the backstory of all of the swinging couples. What would normally take an author a series of chapters, this author was able to do briefly, but without missing a beat. I was enchanted by what would prompt a married couple to want to share what should only be between husband and wife with others. Although their lifestyle is not my cup of tea, to each his own.
This was a short story(too me anyway. The characters didn't need a lot of depth to get to know who they were and what place they had in the story. It was like reading A 30-minute mystery except it was centered around an erotica tale, though there wasn't as much detail about the erotica stuff. It was a fun little read you could start and finish on your lunch break. I will say, it was well written and put together considering the many different couples involved in this story you had to keep track of.
A good book for what it is. Sex, betrayal, jealousy and violence. It's really four stories in one as the four couples meander down their intertwined paths to a conclusion which is not totally unexpected because of the way they each carried on their businesses personal and otherwise. I won't go into details here by I will say it's very titillating and it's told mostly from a women's perspective with women driving most of the sex acts. It's a small book, only about 155 pages, it's a fast summer read.
I listened to this in between two major novels. I had recently read Chaser by Miasha as an introduction to her body of work and was impressed. Swing, while sort of intriguing (simply because of my unfamiliarity with the subject - not so much).
This story follows 4 couples as they navigate through their multiple sexual relationships. The narrator performs adequately with the different views and voices. However, sometimes I was confused and had to replay the disk. I will continue to read more of Miasha's work as this was a novella - short and sweet.
