2.5 stars. NOT a standalone. You must read April Showers first.

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

Basically the story goes something like this:

Lukas is in the hospital after being caught in the fire that burned down April’s house

description

2 weeks pass by. Lukas gets better so that means April gets better so that means April’s teacher boyfriend Isaac gets better.

EVERYONE gets better.

description

Isaac and April are still together, hiding their relationship from everyone except April's best friend Katie and later on April's brother Brody.

description

When Brody comes to visit, yay. In a couple of days he and April's roommate Lucy get together

description

Then you find out who burned down April's house, and it was pretty obvious who the culprit was.

description

All the problems Isaac and April had are solved within a chapter and -whoosh- fast forward 2 years later everyone's happy.

description

My thoughts:

There is no life or depth to this story. The chain of events is literally 'April did this. Isaac did this. Brody did this. April did this. Isaac did this....' If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be robotic. There was no REAL threat to April and Isaac's relationship, and what little problems they did have were all presented and then solved so easily. I honestly attribute the lack of both emotion and complexity to how short this story is.

Plot? Uneventful.
Characters? Bland.
Writing style? Just okay.

Questions were starting to be answered.
Isaac and April’s trust were put to the test.
Can April understand what Isaac was doing?
Can Isaac let April trust him without a shadow of doubt?

The story picked up where it left. And yes, I was now sure that it was dear Lukas who suffered the burns and scars of the fire. The author, Karli, loved throwing curveballs along the way, what happened at April Showers (the fire, Isaac and Lukas) were turning points for April to acknowledged that she loved Isaac, that she and Lukas were better off friends and that everything happened for a reason and anything was beyond coincidence.

Isaac was April’s life-support at those bleak first chapters — when April was sucked by the shock. I suddenly remembered Falling Into Us by Jasinda Wilder, the void, confused, blame game and what ifs feelings during those unexpected events. I was glad and thankful that Isaac was there for April, along the way – even if April was not herself. During these moments, April also considered to weigh everything – her feelings for Isaac and of course, Lukas. There were never anybody else aside from Isaac yet the feelings April had for Lukas was real but not enough. No one surpassed the feelings she had for Isaac; she just needed some proof or anything so she could go all-in with Isaac. There was one thing she needed to do: forgave Lukas. April deemed fit to forgave Lukas, they forgave each other and were back to being friends. They could never go back to being best friends but Lukas would always be a part of April’s life. At least they took the path to being friends again; I applaud April for that. April needed that closure with Lukas so she would be better and have no regrets to move forward. What happened already happened – they could not change anything, they could only accept, forgive and learn from it. Then moved on.

Aside from the blatant humor and the drooling over Isaac, this book showed Isaac’s love. To be honest, to compare would be wrong but I felt Isaac’s true love for April. April, of course loved Isaac ten-fold but this relationship was another level; and lingering doubts were crowding over her. Their romance was not sickeningly sweet and not that all good. Let’s just say that April had those doubts in the form of, Abbie. Unfortunately, Abbie was still there, creating and created some b*tchy things that really putted April’s trust on Isaac on the line. The trust issues started some arguments and misunderstandings in their relationship – which was good because that was normal, right? Nevertheless, Isaac and April really loved each other and this sequel just proved it. Showed it, countless times.

Every chapter was connected, so it would be hard to pause on reading because it was just that continuous. I would point out that April was being jealous, with a reason. I meant, Isaac was not trying to explain anything to April. What was a girl supposed to do? Of course, jumped into conclusions and be paranoid. The guy must prove that he was looking after his girl. So what did Isaac had done? Made April swoon. Isaac was such a romantic and he opened up to April more. Super kudos to the diary idea! Plus, Isaac was not able to keep his hands off April! Let’s just say that Isaac had a hidden kinkiness side: Chocolate tube *insert wink*.

So moving on, not all was lost at April. When Lukas was recovering, so did she. I was giddy that April never lost her sarcasms, humor and of course, innuendoes! Wait, any Team Isaac out there?! I think this would definitely be your shirt:
“Highly addictive.
Take in small doses.
Causes high blood pressure.”

Did I get a Yay from the ladies there? I loved that moment where April uttered those. Well, thought, really. As much as I had loved Isaac, I moved to another hottie. Do not dare call me a traitor, but c’mon, the other guy was BROODING with hotness (I was trying to make a pun, which was obviously a fail). I would tell you about the other hottie later on.

So, I needed to include my favorite character: I loved Katie from April Showers and here at April Fools, she made me loved her even more. I really enjoyed her, super! She was still really mental and her twistedly perverted mind was always something worth having a great laugh about! As much as I would like to rant about her outrageously crazy personality, I would hold back; I would let you enjoy her character yourselves.

Oh! I did mention a particularly one-to-lookout-for guy, right? He was related to April. Which I must say was just the right person to drool over after knowing Isaac was very much taken. This guy was very close to April because he was April’s *drum roll* big brother, Brody! Isaac had the luck to meet him before Lukas, wherein Isaac was casually smooth and very suave. Isaac and Brody’s meeting was such a smooth-sailing. I was looking forward to a more overprotective brother mode or anything like a testosterone match; but it was okay. Brody was very supportive because he knew that Isaac and April: a pretty much a done deal – they were it for each other.

I loved Isaac, don’t get me wrong but I was more into: biker, 6’3”, black hair, green eyes, in a band, tats, closet alpha, faux Aussie accent. With the name, as I mentioned earlier: BRODY! To say I enjoyed him as himself would not be enough because even if he was to swoon over, he was not taken but he was sort of. I hope you got what I meant. He was like for Lucy! I loved Lucy and Brody! Don’t be shocked, the sexual tension was there waiting to explode! It was very palpable! OH MY HEART! Oh dear, I have a sub-couple flailing alert! Okay, the couple: BRODY AND LUCY. BROCY! (Yes, I made a fandom name for them). A rock star and the lovely girly-girl-slash-Ms.-Goody-Two-Shoes! Oh my… I was looking forward to these two. I was still on the Isaac-April love team but I have a weakness about a good girl and a bad-player boy. And there was this instant connection! OH MY GOSH! PERFECT SONG: I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE by Taylor Swift! Eeeek~! *I was hoping that Karli would make a story or book or novella, okay, just ANYTHING about them!* I wanted them to have their (own) freaking epilogue! That necklace! *flail mode* Oh another thing *insert laughing* Katie made a t-shirt for April and I wanted one too! But I was (and still am) Team Lucy and Team Brody! I was thinking of a shirt with a caption like or says that:
“Me caveman, me need protein”
Or
“I’ll show you what you need later on.”
Or both.
*MEGA FLAIL* TEAM BROCY!

Before the overwhelming desire to continuously drown you more with my utter (un)adulterated bias of Brocy (yes, I am still having flutters on my stomach), I would rant about the parts I loved about the series (I tried to limit it though): I loved it whenever Isaac really looks into April’s eyes; like his world only revolved around April. Aside from the sarcasm and double entendre that I loved so much, their humor even before s*x was fun, which I knew was an understatement because it was more than that! The story and the characters grew and progressed, April had become more comfortable with Isaac, to the point that she was even competitive with him – stripping and initiating. These ‘loving’ were not explicit, the author only showed the foreplay and afterglow, yet it were still satisfying because you could feel the passion and desire from Isaac and April. Then they, April and Isaac, also showed that honesty and trust with communication strengthened their relationship. April misunderstood at some point but when she let Isaac had his piece, it clicked at the right places. Isaac was grumpy for a reason; he did not want April to be involved. A lot more to be mentioned but the thing was, after all the hindrance, they still ended up together. Like what April said:
“I knew from that moment on that everything was going to be okay.”

Lastly, since this would be the last official time I have to flail over Isaac and April, because sadly, this was really the end of it, the author, Karli, gave them the well-deserved ending – the graduation and the looking forward. The friendship and relationships that went through different obstacles, I would miss all their antics and those unabridged love. Then what Isaac did was sort of cheesy but I loved it so much! Isaac kept his promise from Book 1 – that image of him at the mixer was still etched on my mind and it was as if it was just recently when I read April Showers and read what he uttered at the mixer before he left April there. Isaac had done great with the sweetness level amped up because of the diary entries. I, myself, was sort of shocked (because I had the gut feeling it would happen) but Isaac proved it was real and it was perfect! As I end this, I would borrow Katie’s words:
“I’d keep this one if I were you.”
Oh Katie, April did. She would be a fool not to.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from the Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This book was fantastic. Karli is such a good writer. She is now in my top 3 favourite authors.

I was easily drawn back in to April's world like I had just left her yesterday and I couldn't have been happier to be back.

I thought Brody was the best brother. He was protective but he also knew what was best for April

Lucy became a really great friend, in this book. I really like her and I seriously wanted Lucy and Brody to be together. I thought they made a really great couple.

Oh I hate Abbie. She is a self centred green eyed bitch. She is clearly used to getting what ever she wants. I thought she got what she deserved.

I was so happy that April and Lukas could still be friends. They clearly had a special relationship and it would have been sad to see them hating each other.

This was an excellent conclusion to the story but I wish it could go on forever. I am really sad that its the end of her story and there will be no more Issac. and April obviously...

I really loved the epilogue and thought  the last few pages were the sweetest.

I love how Karli writing is witty, romantic and in some parts very steamy. I cannot wait to see what's to come from her next.

"I never had a choice when it comes to you. I don't just want you, I need you"

April's story picks off from where it had ended in April Showersyou know, the fire, the house burning down, Lukas being trapped inside and being rescued by the firefighters? Yeah, remember all of those? It's just a shocker for me, though, during that scene in April Showers. It was terrifying. Good thing I have the second book ready so my curiosity wasn't much bugged by my innocent mind. And to top it off, the story is short. Shorter than I expected, compared to the first book.

As soon as I opened the book, er, my Kindle, technically, I am welcomed by the sheer smoothness of Isaac's voice (well, can you blame me? I've been experimenting on how his voice will sound) and to let you all know, it's very sexy! [Well, not really.] I was actually welcomed by April's tears while she watched Lukas lying in bed, then there comes Lukas' voice. And even though I'm Team Isaac all the way, it hurts to see Lukas that way. *sigh* why things like those happen to people. Though he was rejected by April, he never failed to care about her and that was just so sweet. In here, we all knew that April already chose Isaac over Lukas because, as we all know, they look good together. Even better. Such perfect little couple they are.

During the course of the story, April was visited by his brother, Brody, who seemed to be a magnet of girls. He's the exact opposite of the clean April but they sure share the same mind. I like Brody so much. He's protective about his sister and I like how he can read her like an open book. He doesn't do girlfriends but he seems to be in love with *insert name here!* and I can just imagine them. Really cute, with their opposite attitudes and likes, and wow, they're really exact opposites is all that I can say about them. He has a clever mind but can be very serious at times. I wonder about a Spin-off, maybe?? Because, my gods! They're adorbs! I didn't even thought about them when he started appearing out of nowhere and everywhere! They should make it work and move it! :3

"I remember the last football game of the season, not because we won but because of you. I remember the way my heart sped up when I saw you. I remember your face right before you walked away from me. I remember how numb I felt for days afterwards. I remember how you told me that you would fight for us. I let myself down that day and I won't let it happen again. Thank you for not giving up on me."

Okay, okay. I want to share something. And it's really good, sexy, and fun[ny]. And sweet. HAHAHA! I kept on replaying that chocolate painting scene, which was really fun for their part. Funny and giggly, and all-smiles for me part. It was also here that I knew about forever. And how April hated and feels about losing. And how Isaac gets jealous about a fictional guy (not literally, but, yeah, I think he was. He wasn't just showing it).

* I warned you, okay. I did said it was my favorite part, though, and I enjoyed it so much and I just want to show you and see if you'll love it as much as I do. Alright, I'll apologize as early as now ((: *

The whole story was another experience after the heart-breaking April Showers. The story revived the love at first sight that started it all. I found this book more promising than the first becase (I don't know if anybody experienced this) I felt really hopeless with Isaac in the first book. He was ultimately shut-off and that was a wow for me. Here, you'll also get to meet Abbie. And more Abbie. Which just freaking irritates me. I almost hold a grudge on her. Good thing she's a freaking fictional character. Because I swear, god forbid or not, I'd strangle her with my own hands if she did not stop what she was doing. She infuriates me so so much, you'd see steam coming from my ears. LOL.

In here, a new and improved relationship blooms. Discovering who did what, and all. Defining trust, not jumping into conclusions, and all that surely ruins a perfect relationship, and a newly developed friendship [I'd never even imagined happening]. And don't forget! More chocolate for a late night treat. And tease.

"My reality is much better than any love story."

The ending. We're going to talk about the ending that made my eyes blurry. And it includes tiny strips of papers. And it was perfect. Very artistic. It welled my eyes. When I think about the ending, this ending, I remember lanterns, tensed muscles, mud, running, bumping, wood carvings, late night dances, and pretty much sweet things. I'm melting. It's overflowing with sweetness and I can't take anymore. And then you'd soon realize the sad part. There will be no more Katie that started the laughing parts, her clever mind that seems to run endlessly and gives the story a burning flame that keeps it in motion. Or Brody, that keeps sisters safe and protected, or even Isaac. Sweet, sweet, Isaac that will protect you forever, whatever may come your way. It's just sad right? But having a Happily Ever After of an ending—(eg. finding your husband to be or being with your soulmate, being in love with your best friend, spending the rest of your life with the person you love) seems like a good way to go.

The final conclusion that tops it off promised of pure and endless happiness. That after every storm or rain or whatever, is a colorful rainbow and that every dark cloud has a silver lining. Mistakes get paid off, and honesty and trust are big on relationships (more like a foundation). Karli Perrin wrote an exquisite story that will surely try to catch your heart and will melt your stony heart.

GOD! THIS IS A BLOODY AWESOME SEQUEL! I get my Isaac back and HELLO HOTTIE BRODY! Yes, i have another guy to swoon and obsess over now….Jesus. An Isaac and Brody sandwich wouldn’t go amiss ;) But anyway, before i go on a rambling tangent, i need to tell you how much i loved April Fools. You know my love for April Showers so when April Fools landed in my inbox, sod the others books (sorry) but I devoured the hell out of AF and it took like just over 2 hours, if that to finish it and swoon the hell out of this book. The sarcasm, the sexual innuendos, the tears, laughter and drama were all a part of April Fools – well we all know what went down in April Showers and no way was Karli going to bypass that shitstorm!!

We find out straight away about Lukas ‘condition…did he live or survive? It’s all there on the first page just for you to know. April is still in shock over the events that followed her house being set alight and her friend running into the building to find her. She’s really had a rough few days and Isaac has been with her every step of the way, making sure she is okay and helping her through it all. My boy really is a sweetheart! But when Isaac gets a call off his mother about Abbie being in trouble, Isaac is drawn into that drama and doesn’t tell April what is going on…not wanting her involved. This starts the trails and tribulations that follow their relationship to the very end.

April has been through a lot in the two books – from finding Isaac, finding out who he was, loving Isaac from afar but getting with Lukas to finding out Lukas’ secret, getting with Isaac, having her house set alight and now Isaac is keeping secrets from her, meeting up with Abbie, not answering her texts, being a little weird with her. Yes, that is enough to make anyone’s head turn a 360 and make you question everything. Thank god she had Lucy around and what makes everything better is that her brother, the delicious tattooed, motorbiking, cocky and flirty, Brody came to visit her for a while. OH HELL TO THE YES! We watch April grow up a lot in this book; she still has conflicting feelings about what Isaac is doing, about her brother and his weird relationship with Lucy, about Lukas and her hatred for Abbie. But she gets through it with everyone around her and I loved seeing her at the end – knowing she had gotten through it all and her love stayed strong for Isaac.

Oh Isaac, my beautiful Isaac. You have turned up your sexiness a hell of a lot! You cheeky, flirty, sexy, playful guy. I love him so much but when he was off sorting out Abbie and sneaking around and being blunt I was sat here like “Isaac, what are you doing? Please don’t be cheating on my girl.” I felt so bad thinking this about Isaac because his heart is filled to the brim with love for April, but you do feel that he is off doing something really bad. But when you find out exactly what Isaac has been doing and you just want to hug the shit out of him for dealing with Abbie’s bloody bitchy shit and what he does to help April through everything, dear god I need him in my life. Also, I loved how he would share a bit of himself to April, in the form of diary entries that he writes. They are the damn sweetest entries ever, they show how much he liked her from the start, to the very end of the book where I cried at the last one he wrote to April. That sealed the deal for both of them that a love like this is forever! They can survive anything thrown their way and they really have.

Be prepared to be jealous, but that chocolate scene? Yes, I read it before the book was out and also knew who Brody was too. That is the best part of being a twinnie with Karli ;).

I loved Lucy and Brody together….I say together, its more like they really didn’t get on and they bantered and fought a lot during the book but you can see the spark between them, how they begin to actually like each other little by little. Although they kind of hid it away, I would love to see a book between them, because they have so much to share from behind the scenes especially a certain thing I picked up about Lucy near the end of the book. I’d like to see why she has it and what happened. PLEASE KARLI!

I also loved how Karli mentioned some pretty hot book boyfriends from other books – I gleamed at this part and I loved how excited she got over them…cant spoil it for you, but I loved how Karli though to include the best BBF’s eveeeeeeeer.

If you have yet to read April Showers and April Fools, get them in your life now! Get Isaac and Lukas and Brody into your life. Read the drama that follows April, read how shitting amazing her BFF Katie is. I love this series and I love Karli and I think you all should too! Find you new book boyfriend in this series :)

**Warning: This is the sequel to April Showers. These books must be read in order. This review will contain spoilers for Book One. Read at your own risk. See review for April Showers here http://bit.ly/1f0wtwf**

I’ve been dying for this book! The cliffhanger at the end of April Showers freaking killed me! I can’t believe Lukas went into a burning apartment to save April! Well, I mean she didn’t need saving because she was with Issac, but still! She has not one, but two guys deeply in love with her *swoon*. But my heart belongs to Issac. Even if you have read the first book, a reread wouldn’t hurt because this book picks up right where April Showers left off and you might not remember all the small details and characters.

“I was just thinking about the past couple of weeks. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Well you’ll never have to find out. I’d do anything for you.”

April Fools is very different from April Showers. This book was short and sweet. Which I appreciated, but at the same time I was sad to have to let them all go so quickly. This was a feel-good book. Minimum angst. Lots of cutesy stuff. Here’s a rundown of what all goes down in this book: April and Issac are together now but they still have less than two weeks of Issac being her tutor so they still have to hide their relationship. April and Lukas get sorted out pretty quickly actually. I was surprised at that. The fire is a mystery. Issac is acting kind of strange. Abbie is still a psycho beyotch. Oh, and we get to meet April’s man-whore of a brother, Brody! That was fun.

“I remember how you told me that you would fight for us. I let myself down that day and I won’t let it happen again. Thank you for not giving up on me.”
“I never had a choice when it came to you. I don’t just want you, I need you.”

There wasn’t a lot of angst especially compared to the first book. I think it’s because April and Issac are finally together and they’re confident in their love for one another. There were a lot of rolling on the floor laughing moments in this book. I think the first one was funny because of the banter with April and her best friend, Katie. There’s still a bit of that, but mostly I was laughing at the teasing between April and Issac. They were just too adorable. Actually, April is just funnier this time around in general. Her inner monologue and dialogue with everyone is just witty and sarcastic. It’s awesome.

“Look, I don’t want you to doubt me, to doubt us. That’s the kind of shit that destroys a relationship. Doubt takes something good and taints it. I won’t let that happen. You’re the only one for me and the whole world will know it soon enough.”

I was proud of the way April matured in this book. She knew what she wanted, and I think Issac’s love for her made her a little more confident. Issac was adorable in this one. I loved the way he took care of April. There were a few times when he was acting kind of shady, but we learn why in the end *swoon*. I almost forgot that Issac had a dark past until about halfway through the book. But when it was brought up, it wasn’t in a sad way. It was so cute. Vague, I know. But, I can’t spoil all the fun. If I spoil it, you might not read it. Then you’ll miss out on all the fun, sexy times with April and Issac *fans herself*. I was overjoyed at the way things ended for April and Issac. They deserve a happily ever after with all that they had to go through to end up together. However, I was intrigued by the side story with April’s brother and her roommate. I want more of them. Oh, and can’t forget that Lukas needs a happy ending. I think we should all go bother Karli to write their stories…

“I met a girl today. She was crazy. And funny. And sexy. And smart. And beautiful. I don’t even know her name but I know how she made me feel – alive. She welcomed me into the twenty first century. Literally. She will never know how much I needed to hear those exact words. I’ve been living in the past but that’s about to change."

I really loved April Showers, so obviously I’d been anxiously awaiting book two! With how April Showers ended, I was a little worried what the outcome would be. To say that I was expecting the worst, but hoping for the best would be an understatement.

The story opens with a news article giving a little more insight on the “accident & what happened to Lukas. After the fire, April started staying with Isaac, but with him still having a week left before he finished working & they could make their relationship public, she needed a less conspicuous place to stay. One night when Isaac leaves April to go deal with Abbie, April decides that would be the opportune time to move in with her friend Lucy until she can get her housing situation sorted. Isaac’s little attitude problem helped solidify that decision.

I definitely had mixed feeling about April going to see Lukas, but of course he goes & says something like, “I would run into that house every single day for the rest of my life if it meant saving you from getting hurt.” Yeah, he got some bonus points for that one. In the end their friendship status is restored, which I for some reason appreciated.

Then there’s Isaac… Characters like Isaac are the reason why I have ridiculously high standards for the guys that I date. He’s charming, thoughtful, playful, sexy, respectful of April’s choices & doesn’t feel the need to be controlling! I really loved how Karli tied in Isaac’s diary entries throughout the entire story, especially the end. It was a nice addition to get to see glimpses of his thoughts through this crazy journey of theirs. What I was really surprised about were the couple of times that Isaac actually irked me with his attitude. Although, towards the end you find out what he was dealing with during those times, so I guess it’s forgivable. Oh, I have 3 words for you, chocolate. body. paint. If that alone doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will.

I would just like to say that I’m pretty sure Isaac has been my longest book boyfriend; that was until Karli threw the curve ball that is Brody at me. Here I thought that I was out of my bad boy phase; pretty sure I’ve never been more wrong about something in my life. Oh Brody, tall, dark, handsome, tattooed, in a band, rides a motorcycle, overprotective & a sensitive side that he’d never admit to having… I really don’t think it’s fair to readers to put two extremely swoon worthy guys- with practically no flaws- in one book! I really enjoyed Brody & Lucy’s amazing chemistry- even though Lucy tried to fight it for as long as possible. Hopefully, we’ll get to see what comes next for those two!

Karli is one of maybe 6 or 7 authors that can quickly evoke a wide range of strong emotions from me. If you can make me remember all of the minor characters –even weeks after I read your book- you’re for sure doing something right! Did I mention that this book is the first one I’ve read that incorporates multiple other NA books? You'll just have to read it to find out what I mean! Everyone gets their happy ending, except for Brody & Lucy because cliffhanger… I honestly can’t think of anything that I didn’t enjoy about this well written quick read. You've done it again, Karli!

April Showers left us with quite the cliff-hanger! The ending was pure torture! April Fools more than makes up for the emotional terrorism that the end of AS inflicted upon readers. I was so excited to see a continuation of April's story. I love April. She may be one of my favorite characters. She's not perfect, she makes mistakes, she doesn't have a great life, but she lives her life. She doesn't wallow in self-pity. She isn't terribly self-deprecating. She's honest, and funny, and compassionate.

April Fools really ties up a lot of loose ends from book one. I was wondering what role and how big of a role the fire would play in this book. I really wanted answers. Was it arson? Who did it? The one thing I didn't want was a story revolving around this little mystery though. Perrin artfully weaved the fire into the story without overshadowing other elements.

I was so, so happy to see April and Isaac's relationship get its turn to shine. I love them. Their relationship has such a normalcy to it. It's refreshing. Isaac is so sweet and he's so patient with April. I really, really love him. Plus he has the whole sexy professor thing going for him. There was never any contest for me between Isaac and Lukas. It was always Isaac. But it was nice to see two normal, nice guys trying to win April's heart.

Lukas is a really great character. He made some pretty big mistakes in book one but deep down it's apparent that he didn't make those mistakes with malice in his heart. He's equally as kind and wonderful but I never felt the same chemistry between him and April as I did between April and Isaac. The spark just wasn't there for me. It would be nice to see if Lukas gets his own happy ending (wink, wink).

April Fools also introduces us to a new character; Brody. I am such a sucker for a musician. I love, LOVE Brody and I really want a Brody spin-off! I don't want to say much about him since it keeps an air of mystery about him but he is amazing! Honestly, I don't think it's really fair that Perrin can write 3 amazingly awesome guys in one book but I won't complain.

The other thing I love about Perrin's writing is her ability to make friendship an important aspect of the story. Katie and Lucy aren't background characters. They have a voice and their respective friendships with April are well-developed. I always think it's important when friendship is an important part of the story and not just the romance. It's nice when an author can highlight healthy, stable friendships. I love Katie and honestly, I would say half the things she says to April to my own friends.

Overall, I loved April Fools. It was a wonderful wrap-up to a fantastic story. I love the characters and I felt a little mopey when my time with them concluded but I couldn't have asked for a better ending. I would highly recommend the April Series.

**** I received an ARC copy by the Author for an honest review *****

Wow I just finish reading this series and I love it, but I cant say Wich one I love the most, either this one or April Shower they both are great books, I love the old characters and the new characters.I love how this book was the perfect ending to this series.

I love it that this book pick right up where April Shower finish. And that you don't get to be confuse about it, for you to read this book you need to read the April Shower first but I guarantee you that you would love it.

I really enjoy reading this story, love it how each character has a life of its own, and you really get to feel it once you reading.

April made her choice between Isaac and Lukas, and now all she wanted to do was to concentrate on her school work and on her new relation ship, and on trying to trust Lukas again and gain her best friend back.

After a horrible accident, that left Lukas in the hospital, and April without a house she agree to stay with Isaac, into she found a place to leave, Isaac and April had a wonderful day together, until his mother call and gave him a news that him or April where not happy with, that's when April decide to take Lucy offer to move in with her, On her first day back to class April found out that Lukas was out of the hospital and she did not know ho to react to that, after a long talk with Lukas she knew that their friendship could start all over again.

On the second day of class April found out that her brother was waiting for her, Brody decide to stay with for few days, I love the way that Brody and Lucy act with each other, April notice that too and that's when she though she could hide her relationship with Isaac from her brother, but that did not work out, once Brody met Isaac he knew that they had feeling for each other, and April did was happy that she did not need it to hide it from Brody.

While April and Isaac relationship grow stronger other people was trying to keep them apart, but I am so glad that didn't work I love it how Isaac always said it from the beginning that April was the one he was gone married. And love it how he always give her a piece of paper from his journal showing her how much he love her and that he will never give up on her that he will always fight for her.

I really enjoy and love this book, and I hope that once you read it that you will feel the same way this is a beautiful series.

Once again I just want to say Author Karli Perrin THANK YOU for giving me the chance to read and fall in love with this series. I cant wait to read more of your book.

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review*

They're back!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVED the fun and flirty April Showers by Karli Perrin, so to say I was excited about reading the sequel is an understatement! Once again, Karli has given us a book that will make you laugh out loud and swoon and feel like you're spending time with friends again.

I really missed these characters so I was a mixture of happy and sad to finally be able to read the conclusion to April's story. If you've read April Showers, you will more than likely have been left freaking out over the cliffhanger, much like I was, wondering if Lukas would be ok? Well thankfully, Karli doesn't prolong the torture and we find out on the very first page of April Fools, so you can breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the rest of the story.

Though I won't lie, there is still some drama and I never thought I'd say this but I wanted to slap Isaac so bad at one point! He made me so mad!!!!! But he completely made it up to me and I fell in love with him all over again. Plus, it doesn't hurt that he's a master in the skills of seduction. Oh my. If you thought he had the moves in book #1 then you haven't seen anything yet! Isaac got naughty in the very best way possible!

The secondary characters again, are fabulous! Hollie, the whore with a heart of gold. Lucy, April's friend and roommate. Katie, April's BFF makes a small reappearance and is as hilarious as ever. But then we have a newbie.

**NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND ALERT** April's brother Brody, comes to town and oh my! Ladies, prepare yourself. He's tattooed. Drives a motorbike. And he's even naughtier than Isaac. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Brody a while ago and I claimed that hotty then and there! He. Is. Delicious. I couldn't get enough of him and am keeping my fingers crossed that he gets his own book because I LOVE him!

This was a fairly short book. Depending on reading speed, it can easily be read in just 2 hours, and while I do wish it had been longer so I could see more of the characters and their developing relationships, it was a really great book and I am definitely looking forward to what Karli Perrin gives us next. And of course, more Brody please Karli!!!!!

his is the second book in Karli’s April series. The story picks up from the cliffhanger where April Showers ended. If you’ve not read April Showers, read my review here, it is a must read especially before April Fools. Firstly, thank you to Karli for asking me to be part of the blog tour, it has been a pleasure!

When we last saw April Adams she had just saw her house burning down, with her best friend inside, and now we get to see how that story unfolded.

Lucas is still alive, he wrongly suspected that April was inside the building and done what any best friend would do and ran in to save her. April is grateful for her life but grateful that her best friend is still alive after his selfless act. April is also still keeping her relationship with her exceedingly dishy tutor Issac a secret.

Issac is hot. Like super hot. Like Ian Somerhadler hot. I loved his character in the first in the series. He kind of reminds me of Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy, not lookswise, but in a sometimes he can act like a bit of a dick but we love him anyway kind of way. He is still causing April’s heart to flip over but is also still causing her grief from some rather tactless decisions.

I loved April’s character. She is so normal and down to earth and so susceptible to the same things as any normal girl would be. She is totally consumed by love for Issac, love and lust, but she also has the best relationships with her best friends. She is a very lucky girl. Some of the things she has to handle in the story just shows how mature her character is. One thing about the characters in the April series is how easy it is to enjoy reading about them which is all down to Karli’s writing.

In this story we also get introduced to April’s rather hunky brother Brody – he’s the one your parents warned you about! He is an out and out heartbreaker but it seems like he really is there for April in every way, and it seems like he has a bit of a story to him that we don’t know yet, so my fingers are crossed for more of him in the future.

The story reveals some shockers which keep you guessing from the very start and it was great to read more about April and Issac after falling in love with the pair of them in April Showers. A great sequel, well done Karli!

I was so excited when Karli asked me to be a part of the April Fools blog tour! I hadn't yet read April Showers, so I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to read both of them! As you saw from my review yesterday (here), I really enjoyed the first book in the April series. However, I LOVED its sequel!

I didn't have the same issues I felt before where I felt the book was mainly driven by April's indecision to choose between Isaac and Lukas. After all- April has made her choice. I am glad she stood by her choice and that Perrin didn't create a bunch of drama over her questioning whether or not it was the right one. Instead, Perrin has created new obstacles for April to overcome- the ones most couples face at the start of a new relationship. In this book we see April struggling with her new relationship, as external factors really plant the seeds of doubt in her mind. She trusts her new boyfriend, but he is hiding things from her and that really upsets her.

However, April and her man definitely have some steamy chemistry and we really see Perrin take it to the next level in this book! Whew! I loved it!

What did I love most about April Fools? The addition of April's brother Brody and more interactions with her friend Lucy from the first book. Sighhhhhh! Brody is a fun-loving, outgoing guy, but he is definitely a womanizer. However, I loved his charm and his protective nature of his younger sister. We learn a bit more about April and Brody's mom and their family situation too in this book, which I liked. Lucy is such a good, sweet friend to April and I really loved her. Watching her interact with Brody is hilarious because she is definitely the relationship kind of girl and he's not. However, I suspected a thing between these two coming and I felt their storyline was not quite resolved. *cough we need a spin-off cough*

I also liked that Perrin resolved the cliffhanger ending from the first book right away. Cliffhangers are torture as it is, but waiting for a lengthy resolution KILLS me!

Overall, this was a sweet, sexy, steamy read about two people learning to trust in one another and not let outside forces ruin something so good.

I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an impartial review. I remember when book one in this series- April Showers was released. It seemed to be the book that everyone was talking about at the time. I gave into peer pressure and ending up reading it myself and was completely stunned. It was an absolutely amazing book but the ending….I dreaded the ending because if it was a cliffhanger, then there would have to be a book two and there was no way book 2 could ever be as good as April Showers. I WAS WRONG! This book was fantastic. It captivated me, played with my emotions, spanked me on the butt and said, “there, that’s how you write a sequel.”
So as we now know, Lukas was caught up in the fire that burnt April’s house down. The author writes the post fire scenes with such grace and fluidity. You can feel April’s pain, shock, fear, and feelings of betrayal. Even as she is feeling the high of falling in love, she is simultaneously caught up in a world of emotional pain. April has one sure thing that she can count on. A person who is there for her through good times and bad- Isaac. This couple is perfect for each other and their love is stronger and shines brighter then ever in this book. They are still struggling to hide their student/ teacher relationship but are making it work. I fell in love with Isaac and all his sexiness in the first book and he brings it all with him in April Fools. (sigh) Love that man ! But along with Isaac, we have April’s bff, Lucy, and April’s brother, Brody. This pair need their own book as soon as possible because their chemistry almost set my kindle on fire.
This seemed like such a short read to me. I got to the end of the book and wanted to scream, “NOOOOOO!” I was sucked in and emotionally ravaged by the author and it was awesome. If you loved April Showers, none of the magic has been lost in this read. I loved every minute of it.

5 out of 5 stars.

And here the story continuous, thank god it does, because the cliff-hanger in book number 1 was almost unbearable.
In the last scene we saw April Adams, she had just seen her house burning down and her best friend Lukas went inside to rescue her.

Thank god, Lukas is still alive. April is so grateful to him, for trying to safe her. Their friendship wasn’t in the best state before and now they have the chance to mend it again and it was a total indulgence to read this. I’m glad April got her friend back.

The problems and misunderstandings didn’t go away though.

Isaac is still the same hot and great boyfriend and their scenes are steamy and very sexy, which I liked very much. Isaac’s behaviour is weird sometimes though and April starts to question him. As a reader I also felt that he wasn’t telling the whole truth, but I knew he had a good reason. They just belong together and he loves her, so…

We get introduced to April’s brother Brody, which opened a new side to the story and I’d now also like to have a big brother like that. He is a heartbreaker though and is flirting with all the girls.
After the fire April stayed at Isaac’s first, but it was to dangerous, because he still had to work for the Uni, so April moved in with Lucy. Lucy became a great friend to April and also seemed very interested in Brody ;).

Oh, I almost forgot about that: I think it’s so sweet that Isaac handed in his resignation to be with his girl. Their love and attraction is undeniable.

The drama in the end got resolved and then there was this cute and adorable epilogue. I especially loved the last scene there, because it was all about love, feelings and true emotions. I’m actually really sad now, that the story has ended, I need more Isaac and also April tales.

Karli Perrin’s writing is fun, sexy, witty, romantic, enjoyable and gripping, a real talent.

Karli, Karli, Karli Perrin!! You had me at Isaac.

“What I’ve learned…
Her name is April.
She likes my lanterns.
Red lipstick is hot.
Mixers don’t suck after all.
I like dancing.
I hate sharing.
She makes me happy.”

April Fools picks right up where April Showers left off. April needs to keep her relationship with Isaac a secret and also needs to deal with her friendship with Lukas. He is still recouping from the fire but wants to repair things with April. During all this, April’s brother comes in to town to visit her and April has to move in with Lucy since her place was destroyed. April and Isaac work very hard to keep things on the down low but Abbie is still around causing problems and it doesn’t help that he isn’t sharing everything with April. These two go through some hard times, but in the end, when they listen to each other and trust in their relationship, things work out.

Karli delivers a beautiful love story. Her writing is very simple yet so interesting at the same time. I love the witty dialogue with the characters – makes everything light and easy. All of the characters keep the story line moving and entertaining. There wasn’t a dull moment in this book. Great ending to a great love story. I am hoping that maybe there will be a spinoff series with Brody and his band – hint, hint!!

Definitely read this cute little series. It will bring a smile to your face and have you believing in happily ever afters.

April Fools picks up where April Showers leaves off. Lukas is recovering in the hospital after the horrible fire that almost took his life. Other than the fact that Isaac and April are still having to hide their relationship until his ob at Manchester University ends, things seem to be going really well between them, yet April can't help but feel like he's keeping secrets, especially where the evil Abbie is concerned. April's brother Brody also makes an appearance and is a nice addition to the story. I really liked him. The romance is hot between April and Isaac, but circumstance put their relationship to the test and April isn't sure if she's been made a fool of after all. Isaac has to decide if it's worth risking everything to prove how he feels for her and why he's been so secretive.

April Fools is short, but it was very good and I enjoyed where Karli Perrin took the characters and their story. It was fast paced and interesting, and I actually enjoyed it even more than the first book. The romance aspect was great, and as I said above, I really enjoyed getting to know Brody. Karli Perrin also wraps things up nicely for April and Isaac in a great epilogue, giving you an glimpse several years down the road into their lives, which I really liked. Overall, I enjoyed April Fools and if you are a contemporary romance fan, this is a series you would probably enjoy checking out.

*ARC received in return for an honest review*

Having read April Showers a while ago, and being left dangling over the edge of a cliff-hanger I could not wait to shut my blinds, cosy up on the sofa with my kindle in my hand to carry on where April showers finished and April Fools starts.

April is dealing, emotionally, with the aftermath of the fire and trying to keep Lukas as a friend and Isaac as her lover, while trying to get some normality back into her life, by returning back to her studies. I love April's character she is sassy, strong and no push over, which is all the qualities I love in a leading lady.

Oh then there's Isaac, that ever so dominating alpha male with a soft centre. I loved the way he showed April just how much he loved her!! *Swooning* and *Drooling* while thinking about Chocolate and a paint brush!!

I connected and loved every character especially Katie, Lucy and Brody who all had a story of their own, with lots of sexy, cheeky banter and hope and pray Karli is going to share more of their stories????

I read this story in just over a morning and even though this book is short it ties up loose ends from April Showers while introducing more characters, maybe even a new BBF (Brody) *Coughs* It is very fast paced, packed full of humour, sexiness and some twists and turns that leave you thinking (wow I didn't see that coming).

So I finished this book at the crack of dawn eager to discover April and Isaac's fate as well as that massive cliffhanger in 'April Showers' and I must say that it fulfilled my book cravings.

It caught me by surprise when the book mentioned 'Beautiful Disaster' and 'The mighty storm' because coincidentally they are one of my favourite books that I like to re-read and find myself liking April more than I already do due to sharing the same book boyfriend. Good choice in book boyfriends.

I can see myself reading another book from the author because I thoroughly enjoyed both of them but I must say I am looking forward to a book about Brody & lucy as well as Lukas.

*************** Five Star Series Review ***************

I am so glad I finally made the time to read this fantastic love triangle series from Karli Perrin. The first book leaves you in a unexpected cliffhanger of a lifetime. The second book continues 2 wks later of how Lukas recuperate from April's house fire. We have more of Isaac and April of course and how they work out their issues of being in a tutor and student relations.

We get more Lucy and we meet April's bad boy older brother Brody. We got lots of suspense and unexpected twists throughout finding out if the house fire was an accident or arsen. I was hoping that maybe Lukas could have his story but if not, I will definitely read more books from this author.

April fools is book two in Karli Perrin's April series. I loved it Karli starts as she means to go on, this book was just as good as the first. Luckily this time we have no 'need to know now, stalk the author till she tells us' cliffhanger ending. However the ending was great and it was good to see the characters development and interactions in the epilogue. hopefully this is not the last book in this series and if it is I really hope that we get Lucy and Brody's story because there is definitely something there, I love how Karli Perrin writes she makes you invested in the characters as if they're your real friends. I honestly loved this book and can't wait to see what she does next. 5 Stars

Love love love love.....

I wanted to skim thru April showers, so I could remember exactly what happens at the end..but I loved that it started right up from the last book.

I'm so happy I finally got to read this book. I loved the characters, loved the epilogue, love the boys (Brody & Isaac & Lukas too bc he really was a great guy) I loved that there was a bit of drama, but not too much. The book was steamy, and romantic, and funny. I love the humor....the conversations April has with Isaac, and conversations she has with Katie are freaking hysterical...and also between her and Brody. I would love to read another book with some of these characters....(HINT HINT!!)

This one had just the right amount of excitement that was slightly lacking in book one, and I loved it.

Once again, the writing style was really fun and witty - with funny little inner monologue comments.

I think I just fell in love with Isaac again :D

I also loved the April's favourite book was Beautiful Disaster and the fact that Isaac bought it for her, and was reading it :). And then you had Thoughtless's Kellan Kyle and Griffin incorporated into the book, which was just great, and also unexpected.

I could read this again, and I really like this author's writing style, hoping that there are many more books to come!

April Fools begins where April Showers ended. Yes, April Showers was a cliffhanger, but I only hate cliffhangers when I have to wait for the next book to be released. I was so glad that I could start April Fools the minute April Showers ended. The story continues to be fast paced though the HEA. April Fools get to be placed on my "Wonderful" listing of books. I'll never forget the story and how Isaac was there for April. Now, I want a story for Brody. Mmmmmmmm

I can't wait to see what Karli Perrin writes next.

I LOVED IT. 5 STARS. The good thing about this book was that there wasnt loads of secrets and dramas and the whole splitting up for weeks on end while they sorted themselves out. It was dealt with there and then and resembled real life. It was so sweet! I feel sad their journey has ended but it was the perfect ending to their love story.

I sense a possible spin off for Lucy and Brody though! x

Karli gave us a fabulous ending to a great story. Thank you for another winner. The only bad part was I wish that it was longer. Next book should be about Brody and his band :)
