About the author

Yvonne Jagtenberg (Tilburg 1967) studeerde na haar pabo-studie aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. Na een paar jaar in de beeldende kunst werkzaam te zijn geweest stapte zij over op het illustreren/schrijven van kinderboeken. Haar eerste prentenboek Een bijzondere dag verscheen in 2001. Dit prentenboek won in datzelfde jaar de Pluim van de Maand en werd in 2006 in Japan genomineerd.

I have only read this book in Dutch, and I found it to be quite a charming study of wild animals and what it means to capture something in art. The pictures are lovely. Maybe the English translation leaves something to be desired, as other reviewers do not seem to have enjoyed it..
