You know those read in one day type stories? Well, actually, a matter of a few hours. Yeah, that's what happened with me and this excellent romantic suspense by Ms. Lindun. I've been a long time fan of her work and each book I read just makes me want more! I can't ever get enough.

From the start I was pulled into the story. I can feel the emotions on the page. Ava gets this prickly sensation and I felt it too, and it only amplifies from there. She's a woman on the run, and everywhere she turns, the killer seems to be right at her heels.

And Levi....Oh, I love me some Levi! He's put in an awkward position, but his strong desire to protect Ava with all his might makes him a winner in my heart. He's in the rodeo world, a man who's not ready for any settling down.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. D'Ann has this way of creating amazing sparks between two people pushed together in a scary situation that would have never met otherwise. They're an unlikely pair, but the stakes are high and their feelings are very much heightened.

I love Levi's family and his cowboy friends. There's something about a sense of community that always looks out for their own, and that's exactly what we see here. Levi will do what it takes to keep Ava safe, and those around him take her in as one of their own too.

Can she really belong when she's got so much going on? I won't spoil the fun, but will say don't miss this book. It's fast paced, filled with lots of suspense, intrigue, danger, and of course, a romance.

I'm certainly looking forward to more, especially within this amazing family. Makes me feel like i was right there in the story. My heart is still pounding.

Great job once again!

Ride a Falling Star
By D’Ann Lindun

Ava Demassi is a showgirl in Vegas. When she witnesses a murder, she runs before she becomes the next victim. Levi Callahan is a bronco rider who just happens to be in the right place at the right time. When Ava jumps into his truck, the two begin a relationship that takes them from Vegas to the Callahan ranch.

Ms. Lindun writes a suspenseful story that engages the reader with danger, passion and a sweeping storyline. I really enjoyed getting to know the Callahan family and their unique personalities. Each sibling is strong, determined and self-sufficient. It’s no wonder that Levi is willing to help a complete stranger.

Levi is the man everyone should be. He loves his family, has close friends who will do anything for him and always does the right thing. Ava is not your typical Vegas showgirl. She is used to only relying on herself but has a big heart.

Suspense abounds in Ride a Falling Star as Levi and Ava avoid the mob and the killer who is willing to do anything and use anyone to get rid of Ava and Levi. Ms. Lindun’s story also showcases her love of the west and cowboys. You will fall in love with Levi and want to find yourself a hottie like him for yourself!

Now I’m dying to read the rest of the Callahan stories and find myself a cowboy!

Author D'Ann Lindun sweeps you away from page one until the end. I found myself unable to put this book down. It's believable and fast paced. The chemistry between Ava and Levi is amazing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was there was some ties left loose - like about dancing. Overall, I enjoyed the story and the characters.

I recommend this novel to anyone who likes adventure, romance, cowboys, action and suspense.

I was given a copy by the author for an honest review. I was not compensated any other way.

4.5 Star Read. I loved this book.

Ava Demassi is an innocent 24-year-old Vegas showgirl who witnessed her ex-boyfriend carrying out a mob hit. She knows she'll be next so her only hope to stay alive is to run for her life...jumping right into a truck driven by saddle-bronc champ, Levi Callahan.

He was shocked that a 'Buckle Bunny' jumped into his truck to get to him. But, when a killer gives chase Levi realizes Ava is not your run of the mill fan and she had been honest when she told him a mob assassin was out to get her. He chooses to protect her with his life. Three years before he couldn't protect his fiance from a torturous murder by an ex-boyfriend turned stalker and he was determined to guard this woman with his life.

This book gives you romance, takes you on a short rodeo journey, and adds lots of suspense and a bit of mystery! I highly recommend it. It was so worth the read and one I will reread in the future. I was thrilled there was no cheating, no betrayal, and no pulling the H and h apart to have them come back together in the last two pages. Compared to a lot of books the language was tame and I appreciated that. I find it unnecessary for authors to use the F-bomb 150 times to get a point across.

I am anxiously waiting and hoping for more books that will include this family.

If you want to ride a shooting star, read this book! Fast pace, suspense, action adventure, and oh, did I mention romance? Hot, steamy, toe curling romance? Yep, D’Ann Lindun’s Ride A Falling Star's got it all.

This is a fast-paced, well written, contemporary western (Well, sort of. The hero is a bronco rider and it takes place out in Las Vegas, Denver and Wyoming. This says western to me.) that sucks you in from page one and keeps you turning pages late into the night.

When show girl Ava Demassi witnesses a mob hit, she’s immediately on the run for her life. Lucky for her she hops into Levi Callahan’s truck and makes good her escape. Except the mob guy’s an ex-boyfriend who’ll stop at nothing to keep her from talking. Levi, a champion rodeo rider, becomes smitten with Ava and offers to help hide her from the mob, risking his family’s lives--and his own heart. Ava doesn’t want to endanger Levi, but how can she make herself leave when he seems to have lassoed her heart?

The chemistry between the hero and heroine adds even more sizzle to the page and the need for a fan or an iced drink for the reader.

Don’t let this one get away! Shoot Ride A Falling Star into your Kindle and hang on for one hellofa good read.

Ava is a Las Vegas Showgirl who has been on her own since she graduated high school. Levi is a Champion Saddle Bronc rider on his way to his next competition.

As Ava is running away from her ex Dario Abruzzo, (The son of the head of the Vegas Mob) after she witnesses him murder someone, she jumps into Levi's truck and says DRIVE. As bullets start raining down on them, Levi does just that. After hearing her story, and not having much trust in police after they failed to protect his fiancee from a murderous stalker, Levi vows to help and protect Ava.

I absolutely loved the sense of family and camaraderie as Levi enlists his family and other members of the rodeo circuit to help protect Ava as they try to figure out how to get her out of this mess. As they travel, sparks fly between Levi and Ava. But, she is totally city and Levi is nothing but country. Can the two see their way to make it work?

This book has it all, Love, suspense, murder and twists and turns to keep you guessing. Definitely a Must Read!!

What would you do if you witnessed a mob killing one night while leaving work...and the killer noticed you?

Ava knows she's in big trouble. Not only that, but she knows the killer. So she makes a run for it.

Levi (love how these names go together!) is every girl's dream rescuer: strong, protective, and just brooding enough so we know his emotions run deep.

This story is very suspenseful, but believable. Each time the characters paused to take a breath, I was holding mine.

Deep sexual tension and romantic conflict, realistic emotional baggage, and a host of characters I loved, including Levi's rodeo pals and big Wyoming ranch family. I can't wait to read Travis's story *hint, hint*.

I enjoyed this story and it did have a lot of suspense, but I didn't connect with either Ava or Levi. I'm not sure why, but both characters came across as flat to me and I would have like a little more romance. I think the author did a fantastic job bringing the mob to life. Abruso is a great villain and I was on the edge of my seat even though some of the plot twists were predictable. She also knows the cowboy and rodeo life as all of that rang true. Overall this was a good read.
