Assistant to the famous romance author, Tamsin Archer, it falls to Ashlyn to find the perfect eye candy to grace the cover of Ender’s Betrayal, but when she bumps into Slade Collins on the streets of London, she gets far more than she bargained for.
Determined to make his mark in the world, Slade leaps at the opportunity to bring Ender James to life during a five city book tour. His sly smile and dashing British accent easily capture the attention of the fiery Tamsin Archer, and her assistant. The faster Slade moves into the spotlight, the more he begins to realize that fame isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.
As Ashlyn and Slade are forced to work side by side, they will soon discover that love is a tangible thing, but only if they are willing to reach for it.

This was a tough book to rate. I love Amy's Arotas Trilogy books, but I didn't enjoy this book quite as much due to my personal dislike of some of the characters.
Ashlyn - she was an interesting character. She was very likable and relatable, though i'm not quite sure why she kept certain things hidden
Slade - I kept changing my mind on whether I liked or disliked him. He'd be a douche, and then be a little sweet and endearing, and then a big douche again.
Tamsin - did not like her at all. After reading the book, i'm still not quite clear on her exact relationship with Ashlyn, but she definitely doesn't treat Ashlyn well.
Sophie - I thought she was an awesome characters. Very strong and confident, but also a very supportive friend and colleague to Ashlyn.
I am still interested in reading the next book in the series.
This is the tale of a writer, an assistant and a hot cover model. One is wild/carefree, one is shy/reserved and one is well did I say hot?? This is a different twist on a love triangle, which I would say on one parties side is actually a lust triangle. There is drama, hotness, tension and all the things you expect from a romance/new adult book, however there's more! You think you know but you seriously have no idea, you have to read and follow this one through.
I do have to say this is a very tasteful New Adult book, so for those who have shied away from New Adult, this is the book for you too! I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I am a huge fan of Amy Miles and totally enjoy everything she has written thus far and will follow her to any genre she decides to explore.
I received this book as a Beta Reader for Amy Miles for my honest opinion!!
Nice, quick read. Pleasantly surprised by this one. I have since found out it is part of a series, which I just had a big rant about recently, but actually this stands alone just fine, so I don't actually have a problem with that in this case. High quality freebie download which has a decent ending and doesn't make you feel you "have" to purchase the rest to see what happens. I actually may buy the next one as I did like the characters and it was very nicely written. I wasn't entirely sure I liked Slade as he behaved like a d&&k, particularly early on, and he was conceited, but at least he was a break from the tatted bad boys that seem to be in every other romance novel. Bored to death with that. At least Slade had character. I liked Ashlyn. I didn't guess her secret. Tamsin was a nightmare. Horrible person!
I really enjoyed Amy Miles first romance book. Amy's passion is paranormal which personally I don't read so I thought I would give this a whirl. There is 0 sex, which I knew up front. What I will say is I enjoyed the story and it was a 3.5 star read for me. Since it is a trilogy, and the story was provocative enough I am interested in seeing where the story goes and what is in store for Ashlyn and Slade. It didn't hurt that Ashlyn is from St. Louis, my home town, and returns there at the end of the book. This is the story of a romance writer and her cover model-- The elements of the publishing industry and travel to book events seem spot on. It's a charming story that you would feel comfortable letting your teenage daughter read as well.
Firstly I have to say that contemporary romance is not my genre of choice but I read this simply because I have really enjoyed every other book I've read written by Amy. That said, I really enjoyed this book.
It was refreshing to see a romance book that is not chapter after chapter of bed-hopping and squabbling but you get to follow the budding relationship throughout the book. Yes there are some of the usual misunderstandings but not done in a cliché sort of way and I really found myself caring whether the main characters would get together.
This is also the type of romance book you can recommend to anyone without wondering if they will be shocked or offended.
This book isn't as great as I was expecting it to be. I'm quite disappointed in it to be honest. I was expecting way more. I think there could have been more of a connection between the main characters from the start of the book instead of the middle. It was a little boring which I'm disappointed to have to say. The ending was nice and sweet though, but that was the only part I actually enjoyed.
3,5 stars Not four stars because of the end the this story, that is really very nice, but I think the epiphany moment of love between Ashlyn and Slade is too short and little clear,in fact Slad has behaved really badly through all book and very little we saw as passion or chemistry between the two, and the lust, there was only that of Tamsin.
I had read the first two books in the Arotas trilogy prior to meeting Amy at the Boston Author Event earlier this year so I was already a fan. When word of this new trilogy started, I was SO excited! And Amy did NOT disappoint. The relationship she created between Ashlyn and Slade made me invested in them and I look forward to the next book in the series. =)
A very cute love story. All about finding love in a person by looking at what's on the inside instead of looking at the outside. People aren't always who we see them to be. Which is what Ashlyn had Slade find out. This trip of discovery takes them both through running into strangers, casting calls, all over the US and London, and airplane rides. You have to find yourself in order to find love!!
This book was a breath of fresh air to read. i really enjoyed it :) it was a different topic to read and i thought the plot and people in the story were good. ( im not great on writing reviews but i always write one)
Interesting look into the book world. Loved the sudden twist, even if I was guessing it pretty quickly. Liked the chemistry and the slow burn as well as the hope. Nicely done.
