Gordon Rupert Dickson was an American science fiction author. He was born in Canada, then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota as a teenager. He is probably most famous for his Childe Cycle and the Dragon Knight series. He won three Hugo awards and one Nebula award.
This is a collection of shorts by Dickson: In Iron Years, Homecoming, A Taste of Tenure, The Hours are Good, Gifts, Zeepsday, and Things Which Are Caesar's. Somewhat dated now, but still interesting. I rather liked the title story, but I think Gifts is the story that stayed with me the longest. An interesting piece about ethics and charity and an ordinary man's decision for the world.
