Hello, all! I am a mother of two and am enjoying the pursuit of a writing career. I work full-time in the medical field and spend my down time with family and friends, reading or, (of course) writing. I am currently writing paranormal romance and hope to branch out to Contemporary soon.. The paranormal element allows me to give reality a new depth by integrating paranormal creatures into my everyday world. I mean, come on, who wouldn't want a little excitement added into their everyday life? The Southern/Gulf Coast culture that I have grown up in plays a big part in my writing, forming not only the cultural traits of the characters, but also the ambiance of the geography in many of my stories.
I am new to the writing world, and who knows where it will take me? But I'm having fun nevertheless, and if people enjoy reading my work, then it's all been worth it. HAPPY READING!!

Personal Overview

Stephanie and Abraham met in the previous book, in this one they have been in a relationship for six weeks.
They have yet to fully complete their mating, but for that they need to overcame some obstacles and truly open to one another, Abe being explicit about his feelings, and Stephanie with her past. Her story was heartbreaking, but Abe is always there when she is ready, to support and care for her.
Regardless of her reasons, he’d make damn sure she had no urge to leave. He’d spoil her, treat her like a queen and make sure that she saw the depth of his love in everything that he did for her.

Stephanie, however, was his mate. She was the center of his life now, holding in her small hands not only his heart, but his very will to live. What she chose to do with that power was yet to be seen.

He loved this woman so much. In fact, he couldn’t even put into words the depth of his feelings. How did you measure something that all-consuming? He knew she needed to hear him tell her that, and he wanted her to feel secure enough to confide in him, to trust him completely.

I just had to put all this quotes because although Abe has problems expressing his emotions, it's thoughts sure were amazing.
Some reviews point out his dead ex-girlfriend, saying that he had loved before, so his love for the h isn't as especial because he was devastated when she died, but for me it is very clear by when they are telling her the story about Erica, that his devastation was not only from friend's love, but also guilty for her death because her accident was after their discussed that there was no future for them, which they both agreed, but was traveling to her parent for a time-out for herself.
"...She fell in love with Abraham, and while he loved her, as well, it wasn’t the same. She wanted the whole deal, with marriage, kids, a home, the whole nine yards.”
“But Abraham didn’t?”
“No. He loved her and tried to give her what she wanted, but he knew that it wasn’t fair to her. He knew if he ever met his true mate, Erica would be destroyed when he left.
“Abraham held more of a brotherly love for her than anything else, but she was also his best friend. They had a long discussion about their relationship and, since she knew what he was, she understood.”

“I have no doubt he could have freed himself, despite the injuries from his rampage, but he had just given up.He’d succumbed to his grief.”
Stephanie sat in stunned silence as tears streaked down her cheeks. She could only imagine how painful it must have been for him to endure that loss. No doubt, he felt guilty, as well.

In fact, reading the book I always felt Stephanie was The One for him and, as he points out multiple times, if something happens to her and she dies, he would not want to live without her, when she entered his life, she became is reason to live.
They had a few funny moments in between, with helped destroy some of the tension of the threat surrounding them.
She might grow a tail and some horns for a week at a time, but so did most women.
.
The ending was beautiful and Abe's surprise was simply amazing, I even teared up...

4.0 Stars!!!!

The only perfect mate for a werewolf is a girl on the run, who is either trying to run away from a mating in her pack or had some bad relationship she is trying to get away from. In the process she hides out in small towns, off the grid until she is found out and then runs. She uses cash only, might live in a car or small apartment and works at any job to get by such as a receptionist or shifter favorite - waitress. What would a shifter do with a girl from a normal family leading a normal life?

Enough of my rant....putting that all aside this was a fantastic read and it is a romance which started in novella # 1 and finished up in this novella. Great characters, spunky, tough but soft and interesting storyline. She is really on the run....but not your typical shifter book girl trouble. I also like that we got to see those characters in Novella #1 carry over into this book and I am certain we will continue to see them in the next. I am enjoying this little series. Not-a bad read at all!

As short as this story is, I still wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't been stuck on a long distance flight. This has got to have been the most boring PNR story I've ever read.

It's set after the romance between the hero and heroine is already established and the couple have decided they're mates. The only thing waiting to happen in this book is that the heroine needs to accept the mating. That's it. There's a little plot about some killers coming after the heroine, but it's really hard to care about what happens.

Quick Summary: Hero wolves, bad guys set on revenge, a woman on the run, and romance

My Review: To Protect His Mate by Serena Pettus was a shapeshifter romance. This story had interesting characters, a straightforward, uncomplicated conflict perspective, and an adequate HEA. The lead couple, Abe and Stephanie, each had tragedy in their backstory, which made their EQ status understandable. The chemistry that the couple had was rather dry, although it was evident that the author tried to create some magic. Overall, the book was alright. It did seem to start in the middle at the beginning, in my opinion. As this is book 2 in a series, perhaps that is why it started somewhat "off" to me.

This is a shapeshifter romance, the second book in a the Wolfe Brothers series. This is a short fast paced read that I would recommend to anyone. I connected with Stephanie and the reasons for her wanting to be alone at times. I also enjoyed her relationship with Sarah. I also like how Abraham is quiet but a force to reckoned with.

This is the story about Sarah whom is a doctor, she has been running scared for years and thought settling in a small town would be just what she needed. Only to realize she has befriended a group of wolves.

Stephanie thought she was finally at peace in Hastings until the threats to started up again. She has to decide to run away from possible happy life or stay and allow her friends to help her putting them in danger.

Abraham has finally found his mate and wants to be everything for Stephanie. He knows she is hiding something from him. Will he ever be able to finally claim Stephanie as his own.

Trouble finds Stephanie and she is in danger, will Abraham be there in time to save her?

favorite passages:

"His eyes, though, were lethal."
"Honey, most men are no better than slightly evolved cavemen. They take a woman back to their cave, provide food, protect us, beat their chests and expect us to swoon."
"We’ll get them," Adam vowed. His words were met with nods of agreement from everyone in the car.
Oh yes, those men would be found"
"Get a room," Abraham grumbled. "At your house!" he added when they made their way out the bedroom door.
"Spoilsport." His father chuckled, winking at Stephanie as they left."
"I wouldn't let you, anyway. I’m a possessive b****** (some might find the author's word choice offending.) , honey, so I’ll go ahead and apologize now for my caveman tendencies."

Ever since reading about Stephanie and Abraham in Erik’s book, I’ve been greatly anticipating their own happily ever after. Their opposing personalities seemed to blend so well.

I always love reading about strong female characters and Stephanie is no exception. A past decision to do the right thing cost her dearly and it seems the price of her actions keeps getting steeper. With her past quickly catching up to her, Stephanie is forced to rely on Abraham for protection. While the decision to do so undercuts the independence she’s struggled so hard to achieve, she finds it easier to be stronger in Abraham’s arms.

We get to see a side of Abraham we wouldn't expect from this rough and tough former Navy SEAL. His unyielding protectiveness and his fierce love for Stephanie had me falling in love right along with her. He totally broke my heart with the Christmas present he made for Stephanie.

I loved everything about this book. The four sexy alpha Wolfe brothers are devastating. The chase scene had me on the edge of my seat. The chemistry between Abraham and Stephanie was explosive. My favorite parts of the book are Stephanie’s and Sarah’s snarky repartee, which had me laughing out loud in several parts of the book.

This series is a must read if you need a quick happily ever after with a sexy werewolf and a sassy, strong female attempting to tame him.

Stephanie cannot believe the year she has had. She witnesses her boss kill a patient who is a witness to another murder, received death threats, and finally watched her group of friends turn into werewolves. Honestly how much can one girl take! Abraham has found his mate in Stephanie but is worried that she is keeping something from him. He doesn't know what else to do to get Stephanie to trust him. Only when the threats become more deadly and increasing in violence she tells Abraham in hopes of his help and understanding.

LOVE IT!LOVE IT!LOVE IT! I don't know what it is about this group of werewolf brothers but holy Moses! This book was a bit more sad than Erik and Sarah's book but who am I to complain about a good book that makes my heart ache for the leading lady. This book had it all...drama, witty banter, heart ache, car chases, bullets flying, holy crap that is only a taste of the drama. I cannot wait for Adam and Ethan's stories~! Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock sent me this book to review and give my honest opinion...here it is folks!

To Protect His Mate, just like To Tame His Mate is also good.
I love how Abe and Stephanie's story come to life. It's not boring, it's interesting with all the drama (threats and all). Stephanie is cool (I love how she can shoot and her aim was). She may not be as bad-ass as Sarah (that's what I think) but she is also strong and I love how she can handle Abe..=)
Abraham on the other hand, he may be a non-social type of person but I love how a teddy bear he was under those scowl he's sporting to everyone. Stephanie and Abraham are also easy to love, just like Sarah and Erik.. On how the story ended, wow!! Loved it.. And I'm excited who will be the next Wolfe brother will find his mate, I can't wait!!

A great second book in for this series. I am hooked on the Wolfe brothers now. Stephanie, just like Sarah, is a strong, independent female lead that is on the run. She is dealing with a very emotional issue that happened a year ago. She doesn't want to tell Abraham yet, she wants to make sure that he loves her because he hasn't said those 3 little words yet. She has some nasty men after her for putting another doctor in prison. They want her dead. But will she finally open up to Abraham and tell him all that is going on so that he can help protect her from them?

Abraham always looks mad, angry and mean. But he really is just a huge teddy bear. I'm so happy that we got to meet his mom in this story. She really seems to be an amazing woman. Can't wait to start on the next book!

This book was a bit of a disappointment. I hate saying negative things about the book... but it lacked depth, was very young, and silly. It was so blah...I'm not sure what the draw would be to read the next book in the series. Not horrible, but not a book I would recommend.
