The Dante Legacy #10

Dante's Dilemma

Rate this book
Curse…or blessing?

Romero Dante had always been warned about the danger of The Inferno. After all, it creates an all-consuming, love-at-first-touch lust, which led to his mother’s ruin…and Rom’s birth. Now it strikes again and it’s with the one woman Rom can’t have—Julietta Bianchi, the fiancée of his best friend.

Julietta will do whatever necessary to save her family from financial disaster, even marry a man she doesn’t love. But days before her wedding is to take place, her heart is stolen—with a single touch.

Now the two lovers must choose between honor…and each other.

The story that sparked three generations of Inferno love affairs. A Dante Legacy novella featuring fan favorites, Primo and Nonna!

Many readers of The Dante Legacy have written to tell me how much they love the Dantes and the various secondary characters featured along the way, particularly the family patriarch and matriarch. So, I thought I’d offer a surprise treat—the romance of Romero Dante and Julietta Bianchi, known to readers as Primo and Nonna.

The story takes place in the small, fictitious village of Santa Lucia located among the grapevines of Tuscany, Italy. Though events unfold in the mid-1950s out of necessity—after all, Primo and Nonna are in their late 70s when they appear in The Dante Legacy—this tale is the type of timeless love story that could happen in any decade.

So, meet Romero Dante, a man destined to become an internationally famous jeweler, and owner of the only mines in the world to possess fire diamonds. And meet Julietta, the woman who sparks The Inferno, the all-consuming, once-in-a-lifetime passion that occurs when Dante soul mates first join hands. Their road to happily-ever-after isn’t an easy one. Not when Julietta is engaged to Romero’s best friend. And not when Romero is the town bastard, the bad boy who good girls should avoid at all costs….

I love family first and foremost, which is why writing family sagas and stories that involve family is so much fun. Maybe you can tell that from my books since they always feature the warmth and joy and ridiculousness that comes from having a close-knit family.

I also love animals and have taken in rescue dogs and cats and fostered dogs for the local animal shelter.

And of course, I love writing. All I need is a functioning brain (batteries not included), a pen, and paper, and I can write anywhere. Please don’t let a conversation with me lag because my imagination takes over and I. Am. Checked. Out!

USA Today bestselling author, Day Leclaire is the author of more than 60 novels and has received an impressive eleven nominations for the romance industry's most prestigious award, Romance Writers of America RITA© Award. Day lives in Charlotte, NC and spends her days obsessively writing while vaguely remembering to pay attention to her adorable husband, busy son and daughter-in-law, two tiny grandchildren, and two even tinier Teddy Bear dogs. Not to mention a whole lot of dust!

Spoilers ahead if you're not familiar with The Dante Legacy series

First of all, it was more like a Julietta's dilemma than Dante's but anyway...
I need a Romero/Primo in my life like right now.
I cried and cried even when I knew everything would work out in the end. I didn't care, I cried.
Romero and Julietta was all I wanted and more. Their children and grand children should have really listened to their story, now I want to strangle all of them for being so incredulous.
You know what? Just read it, it's short, sweet and worth it.

Curse Or Blessing?
Going home to celebrate his best friend’s engagement party Romero meets this girl in the fields near his village. Then The Inferno strikes and as an engagement is a holy a commitment as a marriage they know they have to betray Tito and both families. They decide to go to the New World together and start their own branch of a Dante family. In a nutshell, but before the story takes a lot of twists and turns. The importance of choice and determination to change one’s circumstances.

Here we get to read Primo and Nonna’s story, whilst their first meeting is referred to in many of the other books in the series, here we get the story in full. A sweet story which explains many things but is best read after the others in the series.

I loved it.
It was great to see how their story started and played out. And we even got to know how the inferno affects the distant Dante cousins. I can't wait for Lucia's story and the other Dantes.
