My English review

I was a bit mixed with the first volume but I really had a great time with the second, so I was curious to discover this third and last novel. By cons I admit that I had more difficulties get into the story this time …

We find all the characters we learned to enjoy in the novels and it is true that I am always impatient to see Eric and Aziel to see what would happen to them. As always, we start on all the different protagonists of the story and although it’s always interesting to see what happens, I admit that I have always a little trouble when there are a lot of characters. I often prefer to follow less persons not to be too lost. This is perhaps what made my mind after a moment despite the interest I had initially. For me, it is not a bad book, it’s always very well done and I admit that the manipulation of the dragons and their appearance (more present in the story) were fascinating to understand and observe. I must say that our characters interact a lot with them, even if they do not know if they can trust them.

As I said, it was a nice and fast book to read and but I got out several times of the story without being able to return completely, but I’m glad I discovered these three different volumes.

Published 2013. #3 in the Pendulum series. There was great promise in book 1 and less in book 2. Book 3 unfortunately seems more of a mish mash and has that "out of gas" feel to it.

This is the best story I've ever read. I think I'll be positively scarred for the rest of my life from experiencing this tale. I don't know who this author is, Will Elliott, but creatures of a Higher Dimension must have used him as a vessel to write such a masterpiece. I'm definitely re-reading the trilogy. And the ending was perfect.

This series had a very promising start. It had a unique lore and an interesting setting. The character developments left too much to be desired however, and the overall ending is too disconnected to be satisfying.

There ARE some good elements though: lots of gods, spirits, dragons, and fresh takes on balance and the metaphysical (from a fantasy perspective). There just wasn't enough substance to keep me turning pages or feel really compelled to keep reading despite these elements.

I won't be recording my thoughts (if I choose to) here until after the AA are over.

If you expect an actual ending, or want any of the previous events of the last two books to actually matter, don't bother with this one.

What a waste of a good concept. I finished the series, but only because I wanted to know how the plot was resolved.

In a word - poorly.

Honestly, I'm just glad I finished it. I've been torn on my opinion throughout the entire trilogy. There was a lot to take in. There was some great ideas in there but ultimately got bogged down by too many details. God's and dragons and spirits and dragon-gods and so on. It was definitely out there. Overall, not too bad.
