4 Stars!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I discovered Lily Everett's writing a little more than a year ago and I have yet to be disappointed. Every time I read one of her books in the Sanctuary Island series, I am ready to pack my bags and move there by the time I finish the book. An island with wild horses and a great community - who wouldn't want to live there? While this book could be read as a stand alone, parts of this story build upon events from the previous book, Shoreline Drive.

Andie is the elected sheriff on Sanctuary Island, a job which keeps her quite busy. Her world gets turned upside down in this book. Not only is Sam back on the island with a wild horse, she also gets a call from her brother telling her that she has a niece that she didn't know about. Before she knows it, Andie finds herself caring for her niece, Caitlin, on a full time basis. As if that were not enough, she must also try to keep her job as sheriff.

Sam is on Sanctuary Island but he isn't sure how long he will stay this time. He has brought a horse with him to rehabilitate. Andie's niece, Caitlin, falls instantly in love with that horse, Queenie, and responds to Sam better than anyone else. Sam sees a lot in Caitlin and knows some of the things the little girl is going through from his own past experiences. Sam has also brought a few secrets with him to Sanctuary Island that he works hard to protect others from.

I am always amazed by how much detail Lily Everett is able to put into her books. There is so much going on this book and everything works together so well. Each character has their own amazing story to tell. The focus of this book isn't just Andie, Sam, and Caitlin, but instead focuses on Taylor, Matt, the horses, and really the island as a whole. I love the fact that this book ties nicely into the previous book.

I really liked Andie and Sam together and thought that they had fantastic chemistry. I would have liked a little bit more of Caitlin's story but I have a feeling that more will be told in the next book. There was enough excitement in this book that I had a hard time putting it down and even though I found a few parts to be predictable, I loved the story overall.

I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. Lily Everett has written a wonderful story that takes place on an island I think most readers will want to visit again. I can't wait to learn more about the residents of this wonderful little island in future book in this series.

I received an advance reader edition of this book from St. Martin's Press and Net Galley for the purpose of providing an honest review.

5 - I'm home... And I'm Staying. Stars!

Heartbreak Cove is the third book in Lily Everett's Sanctuary Island series. It is the first book I have read in the series but not my first visit to the Island. Having read Homecoming last year, I quickly fell in love with the Island and it's inhabitants.

Sheriff Andie Shepard and Sam Brennan's story is one that will grab you from the prologue and keep you entertained until the very end. A woman of the law and a horse rescuer with a whole host of secrets in his back pocket. Initially there seems to be more dislike than attraction, but an orphaned girl, an abused horse, and the residents of Sanctuary gradually bring this couple together.

I didn't feel like I was stepping in blind with this book it read just as well as a standalone as I guess it will as part of the series, it did make me desperate too read it's predecessors though, just so I can go back and spend more time on the Island. This is a 'slow burn' romance, there is no insta-anything, everything moves along at the pace of life. The side romance between Taylor and Matt was a great addition, it offered a look at romance from both sides of the coin giving a teenage viewpoint as well as the adult one. I met Matt originally in Homecoming so seeing a bit more of him and his family was a great catch-up for me as well.

"In the past, I've risked my livelihood, my freedom, even my life. But nothing and no one has ever gotten me this close to risking my heart.

Lily has built a solid, unbreakable foundation with the island of Sanctuary, it's a place with each and every description she gives you, that pulls you in, it welcomes you, the townsfolk albeit a bit quirky here and there make you feel at home, and I hope she takes us back there in some way on a regular basis in the future.

"This town is amazing. There is no place like it."

And the epilogue... Well to say I cannot wait for October to get here now, would be a total understatement, Home for Christmas the continuation of a story that begins in this book, promises to be one emotional and seasonal sleigh ride back to Sanctuary, and I am looking forward to it!

Let me start by saying that I love animals - many times more than humans. So this book hit me particularly hard. Abusing an animal is horrible beyond belief! Sam Brennan became my hero. But that's in the story line and I'm not about to spoil this book for future readers.

"Heartbreak Cove" melted my heart more than a little. I actually cried. It is a beautiful story in the series and I will not soon forget it.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

OK, let me start with how good this book was, I did not really want to read it when I started it but I wanted to get it out of the way before the end of the month, figured I would do some scanning and write a decent review. Easy huh.

Unfortunately, the book would not allow me that option. the story kept getting better and if it started to drag anyplace it picked back up before I could get bored. Romance, suspense, a bit of action, a hint of mystery, what more could you want?

How about a love affair between a ex-con and the town Sheriff? Things go from bad to worse, then get really bad .... kinda.

As always in these books the horses play a part and they play possibly a larger part in this one than usual possibly. Like I said, a bit of everything that you could want in entertaining reading.

This is officially a contemporary romance I am sure but it reads more like romantic drama that evolves into a bit of mystery and suspense so I am saying 4.5 Stars and rounding to 5. Highly recommended for entertainment if nothing else.

I want to move to Sanctuary Island- such a blissful setting for a book. My first book by this author- but I am now keen to start following this series.

Andie is the new Sheriff- she has also fallen in love with the place. She finds that she has a niece that she never knew that she had and the little girl is very reserved. She only reacts to the horses on the Island. Sam has brought a horse, Queenie, that needs rehabilitating at the horse rescue centre. He’s got a past that he wants to leave behind. He also sees where Caitlin needs someone to reach out to her.

There is a huge chemistry between Andie and Sam- can they overcome their problems

Many thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book- and helping me discover a new favourite author.

My first Lily Everett book, and I'm coming in on the 3rd book in the Sanctuary Island series.

The Sherriff, Andie, and the lawless ex-con, Sam, have a ton of chemistry. A chemistry they both fight. The story setup is gradual as we get a lot of background information. The romance is slow and sweet. They both have secret pasts that they are afraid will catch up to them.

Andie gets a bomb dropped on her from her estranged, military brother. He has a an 8 year old daughter, whose mother recently passed and he's going on a mission so needs her to care for her niece. The niece is quiet and withdrawn and only responds to Sam and the horses in his care. When they get the news that Andie's brothers' chopper has gone down and he can't be located, it shakes Andie. Then there are people looking for Sam and Sam tries to escape the island before it catches up to him.

It also has a tiny teenage romance on the side ;).  It has a lot of twists and turns that make this novel enjoyable!

I received a review copy of this book from NetGalley . This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

#3 Sanctuary Island romance series

I had thought that nothing could top Ben and Merry's story, but this one was just as good. We get to know Sheriff Andie a lot better, understanding why she became law enforcement and why she's such a stickler for the rules. She's inexplicably attracted to Sam, the man who brings rescued horses to the island and works to rehabilitate them. Although they seem like opposites, both are nice people who just want to help others. When Andie's brother sends his previously-unknown daughter to her when he goes on a secret Special Forces mission, Sam is there to recognize Caitlin's abusive background and is able to break through her defenses. Andie and Sam and Caitlin become a close little family despite all of their differences. When Andie has to face stiff competition in the sheriff's election, and when Sam's past catches up with him, they need to trust each other and work together to solve both problems. Great characters and enough action to keep the story moving forward quickly. I'm very much looking forward to Owen's story in the next episode.

Win the series at Romance Junkies' blog - hurry, limited time to enter.

The island citizens rally around two outsiders who need sanctuary more than they realize. Quirky fun awaits you in the third book of this entertaining series.

Sheriff Andie Shepard loves the law which doesn't leave much room in her life for personal relationships. This is why she is confused by her attraction to the lawless Sam Brennan. The way the man moves, the way he looks at her, everything about him shouts "danger" and yet, Andie can't resist the magnetic pull of their mutual attraction.

Sam Brennan knows it's a mistake to draw the attention of the law when he has so many secrets to hide, but he can't resist Sheriff Andie Shepard. It doesn't help that he recognizes his own childhood pain within eight-year-old Caitlin, so he easily connects with Andie's brother's child after a tragedy places Caitlin indefinitely within Andie's care.

Can two loners compromise their individual love and hate of the law?

I get such a kick out of visiting Sanctuary Island. It's the kind of place where it's acceptable for a quirky politician to dress up his bulldog in a sailor costume, as well as where the sheriff will search for that same bulldog when he's lost. The islanders take care of their own, and anyone else who wants sanctuary, including the wild horses that run free on the island.

Sam and Andie are cute together, especially when they're trying to deny their mutual attraction. Both being strong individuals, in stubbornness and physical strength, their sensual pull is easily predicted as being explosive. What I didn't expect was their sensitive side that came out whenever they were together and how they both handled Caitlin's issues. Horse rescue is also highlighted, as well as Jo Ellen's horse therapy stables, so animal lovers will enjoy the underlying theme.

If you haven't read any of the SANCTUARY ISLAND series yet, then you can certainly start with HEARTBREAK COVE as a standalone novel, but I think you'll enjoy it much more if you start with book one, SANCTUARY ISLAND, then continue on to book two, SHORELINE DRIVE, both recommended reads, which will get you in the mood for this third book, HEARTBREAK COVE, and increase your anticipation for book four coming in the fall of 2015. The SANCTUARY ISLAND series contains the type of reader magic that entices you to happily devour the books back-to-back, with that sappy smile on your face all the way through them. They're happy books layered with heartfelt emotion, but it's the quirks I love the most.

Author Lily Everett's talent shines when layering this series with interesting characters who make the reader feel heart wrenching emotion before granting everyone the happy-ever-after they deserve. My favorite part of HEARTBREAK COVE is the heart and soul that is Andie and Sam together. They burn so bright, collectively, because their personalities meld and they smoke up the pages with their passion for each other and for the horses they rescue. I am on pins and needles waiting for HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, coming out in the fall of 2015, after reading the epilogue. Talk about stoking the curiosity—can't wait!

Overall, the SANCTUARY ISLAND series is feel-good, contemporary fun that's like coming home to the quaint 1960s imaginary town of Mayberry RFD, with some modern day eccentricities to mix it up. Great, wholesome, laugh-out-loud entertainment that's sure to please small town or island contemporary fans. Grab the series and settle in for a pleasant weekend of reading pleasure. I highly recommend it as one of the best contemporary series available.

Heartbreak Cove is the first of the Sanctuary Island books that doesn't focus on the Preston sisters, Ella and Merry. But that doesn't make this book any less enjoyable. I think part of the reason I love this series is the way Ms. Everett writes: it's lush and emotional and never fails to pull me in. (She's kind of like Tessa Dare in that respect.)

Andie Shepard is the new sheriff of Sanctuary Island. She has no time for romance, but that doesn't stop romance from arriving in the form of Sam Brennan. Unfortunately, Sam has secrets he's keeping from Andie. Add the unexpected arrival of Caitlin, Andie's niece she didn't know about, and the bond she forms with Sam, and Andie is up to her eyeballs in "problems." Though all their problems aren't solved, Andie, Sam, and Caitlin form a tight family unit, which is sure to be disrupted when Andie's brother and Caitlin's father, Owen, comes to Sanctuary Island in Home for Christmas.

Lily Everett has quickly become a must read author for me. She never disappoints. Heartbreak Cove was up to her normal high standards, and I found it to be one that I loved. It has wonderful characters, Sheriff Andie Shephard, her ten year old niece, Caitlyn, and Sam Brennan. These three heartbroken people may be just what each other need to build a happy future. The storyline was great, and I can't wait until we next return to Sanctuary Island! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC in return for an honest review.

This is the third book in the Sanctuary Island series. This story is about Sheriff Andie Shepard who discovers how to love when her unknown niece comes to stay with her. It is also about Sam Brennan who rescues abused horses. Together these three people learn about love, trust and second chances.
The book was a quick easy read.

I totally expected this to be purely a romance novel but instead I found a heartwarming horse-oriented story that reminded me of the horse-oriented books of my childhood. Andie and Sam were lovely to read about, and see how their different life histories come together in this scenario. While their romantic moments were enjoyable, there were times where their moments seemed so out of place and had me going "Seriously? You're getting spicy right now?!" Seeing Caitlin's progress after coming to Sanctuary Island was lovely too, especially as she started gravitating towards certain people. I also enjoyed the side teenage romance surrounding Taylor and Matt. Overall, I was quite pleased with this book. Perfect selection for anyone looking for romance, a horse-oriented tale, or a book about a small town community.

Perfect as a beach read, I took this book on my annual Sister-Trip. This book pulled me in, kept me interested, and made me regret it was done I enjoyed it so much.

I think of this as a two-part story. First, we have Sheriff Andie Shepard being introduced to and slowly forging a relationship with a niece she didn't even know she had. Second, there is the abused and untrusting horse, with its equally damaged human caretaker, finding refuge on the island and a possible home. How the two stories unfold and intertwine are what makes this book truly sparkle. The ending was superb and I loved all the quirky characters and small-town charm this book had.

This was my first experience with this author and I look forward to reading more of her Sanctuary Island books.

This book was okay. Out of all the characters in Sanctuary Island, the sheriff's perspective was the one I least expected. It seemed that the romance accelerated faster than the others, and the author increased the detail provided about the sexual rendezvous with each book. The actions of one character at the end seemed out of place considering how they acted throughout the story. I did enjoy the teen romance, but felt concerned about the short-term thinking. But what can we expect from teens? This book made for a good listen during my runs, but I do not anticipate continuing with the series.

This is Sam and Andie's story. He rescues and rehabs abused horses. She's Sanctuary Island's sheriff. When Sam returns to Sanctuary Cove with a stolen racehorse, he has to try to avoid Andie at all costs. That gets really hard when they fall for each other. A great romance and a satisfying ending for the abused, skittish horse.

i started this book and it was too mushy for me, and then i remembered i liked the others in her Sanctuary series so i gave it another shot. I'm glad I did, it had some really nice messages of love and hope and forgiveness and family interactions in it. I think what I don't like is she is a little too descriptive for my taste, what she could say in a few words, she describes in flowery mushy detail, not my cup of tea. I guess I don't like when characters meet and there is this instant over-the-top attraction that is described over and over and over. but I learned a lot about horses, which i found quite interesting.

Together, these three lost souls must face the darkness in their past to build a brighter future. Because here, on Sanctuary Island, anything is possible…

-- MY THOUGHTS --
Sam's returned to Sanctuary Island, looking to Jo Ellen to house a racehorse in desperate need of TLC; one that he may just have rescued in less-than-legal ways. Andie believes in a black and white letter of the law. She does not believe there is a grey area to it at all. Caitlin's the surprise 8-yr old niece that is delivered to Andie. She only has minutes to prepare after receiving a phone call from Owen, her military brother that she's not heard from in years. She's distrustful of adult females and seems to have taken a liking to Sam and the horses of Jo's rehab center. It's a treacherous line they'll walk to find a healthy balance.
Sam's past makes him a bit more impulsive when protection is needed. It also makes him more perceptive to like souls. Andie's past has made he stronger and more independent that she's almost unreachable in some things. Although these two were less enjoyable and a little more difficult to connect with, for me, they were still well written. The introduction of a few new characters along with many of the past round out the cast to the story. As usual, the dialogue and interactions are believable and natural feeling. The plot has just enough "uh-oh" drama to keep you on the edge of your seat and enough sub-plot to keep hoping for more. Plenty depth and dynamics in a smooth-flowing, full plot. There were several conflicts layered and interwoven throughout the story, all of which are resolved in a timely manner with very little predictability. The conclusion was sold, wrapping up all of loose ends of the main story and the sub-plot while the epilogue gave the readers an exciting glimpse into what to expect from the next book.
Once again, Ms. Everett has provided the readers a fantastic story about second chances, renewed hope and finding love and trust.

I was lucky enough to get a review copy from the publisher through NetGalley. I'm a huge fan of Lily Everett and was so excited to read the next book in her Sanctuary Island series. I loved this book so much! I feel I should warn you in advance there will be much gushing in this review.

Andie and Sam are my new favorite characters in this series. They are both such strong characters and I love how they will both do anything to protect those they love. I also fell in love with Andie's niece Caitlin. She tries to come across so tough, but is really just a little girl who is looking for someone to love her completely. The fact that she attaches herself to a horse before a person almost broke my heart, but I loved watching her come out of her shell the more time she was with Andie and Sam.

I felt the attraction between Andie and Sam from the first moment they met. I loved they both tried to stay away from one another, yet seemed to be linked together first with helping to work with the horses and then with Caitlin. Their chemistry was so strong and I loved watching them grow closer as the story progressed. I didn't love that Sam continued to keep a pretty big secret from Andie after they grew so close, but did understand his reasoning. Of course the secret Sam is keeping from Andie has the potential to pull them apart forever. I honestly didn't know how Andie would react to Sam's secret and have to say she proved herself to be one of the strongest characters ever with her reaction.

I loved we were able to spend so much time with the horses of Sanctuary Island in this story. They are such a part of the island, and add to the character of the island. I loved that Queenie, the horse Sam had brought to the island and Lucky the wild colt rescued from the island became inseparable. It was such a sweet story to watch the 2 horses connect and need to be together.

I also loved getting to visit with other favorite characters from Sanctuary Island in Heartbreak Cove. Teenagers Matt and Taylor have been favorite characters of mine since we met them. Both Matt and Taylor have matured so much since this series started and I loved she finally admitted her feelings for Matt. Their romance has slowly built over the first 3 books and I can't wait to see what happens with them in the future.

I love the little family Andie, Sam and Caitlin have formed. I love that Andie didn't hesitate to take in her niece when her brother Owen called her. I especially loved she is so protective of Caitlin and loves her so much she won't give her any false information about Owen. I'm so excited we will get 2 books in the Sanctuary Island series this year. I'm already counting down until the release of Home For Christmas this fall.

Heartbreak Cove is my favorite book so far in the Sanctuary Island series. While I think the story could be read as a stand only for anyone wanting to give Lily Everett's books a try for the first time, I also think you understand the dynamics of the series best if you start with the first book in the series.

Not many stories can make my heart ache so much but Lily Everett managed to fill me with emotions with Heartbreak Cove.

Misplaced blame, perceived mistakes and lack of support has Andie starting fresh in Heartbreak Cove, a place where she yearns to belong and make home.

Sam has his own hauntings and a past he doesn’t talk about. He is in Heartbreak Cove for more than a visit with his cousin. He’s brought with him a horse he’s rescued, Queenie, and will spend a lot of time rehabilitating her as well as helping his cousin on her ranch. Sam doesn’t expect the attraction he feels towards Andie any more than she expects her immediate attraction to Sam.

When Andie suddenly finds herself looking after a young niece she never knew she had, a niece who has walls up and heart break written all over her, Andie finds she will do whatever she can to help her niece. Even if it means spending more time around Sam, who not only is a horse whisperer, but can get through the walls her small niece has.

Slowly building, the chemistry between Andie and Sam simmers as their relationship grows. At the same time Andie and Caitlin are slowly making gains, and Andie is gaining her trust. But Sam has secrets Andie doesn’t know anything about and he doesn’t want to bring trouble to her or Heartbreak Cove, even as he yearns for a place to call home.

“What would it be like to have someone in his life who loved him enough to never give up on him?” That’s the question, but will Sam take the chance, stay around and find out what he and Andie can have?

When I finished Heartbreak Cove my heart felt so full. Writers like Lily Everett are the reason I read romance. She pulled me right in and made me feel part of not only Heartbreak Cove, but Andie, Caitlin, and Sam’s lives. I felt so much for these people! These characters are mature, realistic, and very likable. I loved watching the relationship between them all grow and evolve through the pages. I liked the connections and interactions between them, getting to know them, and the slow build of the romance.

All of the sub plots blending in to Heartbreak Cove are woven in very smoothly, adding even more of a realistic feel to the overall plot. I love the settings and Lily sets them all up well, from the rowboat scene, to the characters of a small town, to the wild horses that are what Sanctuary Island is all about.
Very well paced and not a book I wanted to put down, Heartbreak Cove was the perfect romance for me.

Romance, chemistry, no overly explicit sex scenes, and all kinds of different relationships that impact on the main characters present day lives are explored.

Lily finishes the story expertly with enough of a glimpse of what’s to come that I am so looking forward to the next book in this series!

The best romance I've read in a while, Heartbreak Cove is a very powerful book that I highly recommend to all romance readers.

Heartbreak Cove is #3 in Lily Everett's Sanctuary Island series. It is another small town, contemporary romance, with enough points of difference to help it stand out from the myriad of books that follow this format. I quickly became engaged and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Andi Shepard is the local sheriff, once a city cop, but now doing her policing in a place she loves. Just when things are going along nicely for Andi some surprises come her way that turn her world upside down. Caitlin arrives, insecure and untrusting of women especially. Andi will have her work cut out to gain her trust. Then Sam arrives back on the island and starts Andi off in a journey of self discovery and reformulating of what she believes. As well as that the local rich man Dabney Leeds is about to shake up Andi's hold on the sheriff badge. I really liked how Andi adapted to all these challenges and in spite of her family background comes through for herself, Caitlin and Sam.

Sam arrives on the island with a highly strung horse that needs to be rescued from its abusive owner. Queenie takes up residence at Jo's stables and Caitlin falls in love with her, even though the two are no way ready for each other. Later added into this mix is another local horse that badly needs Sam's help and attention. Sam too has a really sad, tough background and he doesn't want this to anyway harm Andi or Caitlin. What he doesn't figure on is the love they have for him or the sense of pride and community on this island. Here they value horses, there are a group of wild horses protected on this island, so Sam's work is rated.

Along with all this runs a smaller story of Taylor and Matt. Previously these two were found illegally hanging out in Heartbreak Cove - part of the wild horse sanctuary. They had been dealt with by Andi and Taylor especially has changed her wild teenage ways. She has some skills on computer, and is best friends with Matt who has a girlfriend. But Taylor wants more.

My prediction of what would happen to the horses turned out to be correct. I found the ending satisfying, in a slightly Disney or Hallmark movie way. I did have questions about the way one of the townspeople turned at the end. Slightly all too cosy an ending. However I love a happy ending for everyone so I am not too upset by it.

I will most certainly be looking forward to Home For Christmas later in the year - which tells the story of Caitlin's Dad. I am sure we'll see him before too much longer on Sanctuary Island.

When two people feel this pull to be together what can you do? They both have past they are working through yet not by choice. It took the lost hope, faith, and trust of Sheriff Andie Shepard’s niece, Caitlin, to bring it to the forefront.
Sam Brennan is running and hiding from the law. As he has all his life. Caitlin and he have something in common and it will take their love of horses to bring it to the surface. Yet, with the knowledge that he needs to and should stay far away from Caitlin’s aunt, Sheriff Andie, Sam is drawn to her like a bee to honey. Knowing he would have to spill his truth.
For Andie she feels a sexual pull so strong with Sam. Fear from her past keeps her hypersensitive to possible danger even if it could just be to her heart this time and not to her person like last time. She knows that he shows concern and love for his young teen cousin Matt, so she gets mixed signals emotionally. She still seems to question herself in a lot of ways because two men who said they loved her betrayed her love and trust.
Now there’s little Caitlin she is into Andie’s life when she’s 8 years old. She comes with her own baggage that just breaks both Andie’s and Sam’s hearts. Love, faith, and trust she knows for sure do not exist and if they come it would never come from a women only a man. The saddest part is she never has met “Owen” Andie’s brother and her father because her mom was dragging her heels. Then, the worst possible tragedy happens and Caitlin has no other relations that are living.
So, it becomes a “priority #1” for them to find dad. They did but he was overseas getting ready to leave on a mission with his Ranger Unit. So, Owen sent her to Andie…
This story has a story within a story because you know how Andie and Sam were brought together by two teen’s best friends. Well, you will see the secret crush the two carried for each other unfold or will it break even their friendship apart?
I enjoyed the story as a whole but at about the 70% mark it started to drag for me but picked up at the 80% mark. It tells a story of abandonment, fear, loneliness, family, bonds, commitment or lack of most of all love and trust. In the end you get your HEA but wow it is a wild ride of emotions. I give this 4 stars. Provided by Net Galley.

(I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review).

"Welcome to a place where love is in the air, fate is in the stars, and home is just a heartbeat away…

Sheriff Andie Shepard may be new to Sanctuary Island but, like everyone else who comes here, she’s already fallen under its healing spell. Andie is determined to leave her mistakes behind her and make this scenic haven her home. But she just might have to change her plans—as well as open her heart—when an unexpected visitor shows up on her doorstep…

Heartbreak Cove

Caitlin is the ten-year-old niece Andie never knew she had. Silent, wary, and shy as can be, Caitlin only responds to the horses that run wild across the island. Andie has no idea how to deal with Caitlin—until Sam Brennan enters the picture. A tall, handsome loner who rehabilitates abused horses, Sam is able to help Caitlin break out of her shell. But that’s not all: He finds a way to touch something deep in Andie’s heart, opening her up to the healing power of love. Together, these three lost souls must face the darkness in their past to build a brighter future. Because here, on Sanctuary Island, anything is possible…" (From Amazon)

The novels in Sanctuary Island keep getting better. I enjoyed Sam and Andie's romance that has been blooming since the last novel. But I loved the love story between aunt and niece, Andie and Caitlin, a lot more. Caitlin's story is heartwarming as it is heartbreaking...how Andie and Sam take to her and try to build her up was the greatest part of the novel. We also see Matt and Taylor graduate high school and make plans for their future. I cannot wait for the next novel as we are left with some stories still dangling.
