Since my kids got old enough to understand, I have been a story teller. At first, though the ideas were unique, my writing was insufficient, but I kept writing, and reading, and little by little, I've gotten better. The paradox of it is, as my writing has improved, I have started having a paucity of ideas. I feel somewhat like a writer in an O. Henry story, who snuck about secretly watching human interaction, hoping he could squeeze a story out of the things he observed. In my life, I have tried a lot of different things, such as teacher, carpenter, rock mason, janitor, soldier, sporting goods designer and student. I enjoyed the whole series, and the ending wrapped up nicely, but I have to admit this is my least favorite of the series. A wee too much redundancy in the beginning, and everyone gets matched up with their true love way too easily, and I had trouble reading some of the sappy love language aloud with a straight face. But overall, I think the series is great!
