Thanks to his aunt’s cockamamie will, Blake Caldwell has two choices: get married or forfeit the family fortune. He’s worked too hard to let it all go now. He has no choice. He’s got to get married. He needs someone who’s not from his social circle. Someone who will sign a pre-nup and walk away after the required year of marriage.
Enter Paige Parker: temporary secretary and wall flower extraordinaire. Paige just wants to raise enough money to get back to her father’s missionary work in Africa. Blake’s offer of marriage is the perfect way to raise the funds she needs so she can return to the remote village where she belongs.
But marriage between strangers is never easy. Blake finds Paige more of a distraction than an asset as she starts to transform before his eyes. But the sudden and strange accidents that endanger Blake’s life have him suspecting his plain bride wants the entire inheritance for herself.

I'm a wife, mother, and bona fide Southern belle. Published author, expert corn bread maker, and Squirrel Princess.

I live in Tulsa, though I was born in Mississippi. I moved to the Sooner State when I was seventeen and met my soul mate and best friend not long after. I've retained a little of my Mississippi accent though most people think I'm from Texas. (?) Rob and I have been married for over twenty years and have a son--a mom proclaimed prodigy, of course!

I love homemade tacos, nail polish, and romance novels--not necessarily in that order. I'm a big fan of country music, a staunch proponent of saving the Oxford comma, and I'm shamefully obsessed with all things Harry Potter.

I believe that God is love. I guess that's why I adore romances.

I have always been intrigued with the Amish culture, their gentle ways and slower-paced lifestyle. (And I love, love, love the fact that they stay married for their lifetime.) But until recently I never thought to blend this interest with my penchant for romance. Okay, okay, I'm a bit old-fashioned and even enjoy the gender roles that are present in this culture. I love to cook and take care of my family. Yes, that's me June Cleaver with a laptop.

I dislike people trying to convince me to read the Twlight series (I'll get to it or I won't, either way I'm good with it), gratuitous violence, and strawberry ice cream. (I know I'm alone on this last one, and again, I'm good with it.)

Favorite movies--(besides HP) French Kiss, Maid of Honor, A Lot Like Love, Just Married, and Sweet Home Alabama. Oh, and Miss Congeniality, Sabrina (both versions) and a 1940's movie called Dear Ruth. If you haven't seen it, you should! A-dorable. Anything with Doris Day and most all of Marilyn's and Audrey's.

Can’t Buy Me Love
By: Amy Lillard

I fully enjoyed this sweet romance story written by Amy Lillard. Story begins where Blake is to inherit all his Aunts wealth. But there is a stipulation to getting the inheritance . He must marry and be married for at least a year. So now he is on the lookout for a wife. Who in the world would he find to marry him for a year then be done with. Then he meets Paige. Two people from two different worlds how will this work out. It is set up whoever the woman will be that marries him will get a settlement after the year. Also there is a brother who is to inherit a sum of money. You know what they say money is the root to all evil. Blake ends up in a hospital with poisoning. Almost ran over by a car. Who is out to kill him? This is such a sweet story with romance with twist in the story. Amy has a talent at writing romance and Amish books and does both wonderfully. I would recommend this romance.

Modern day marriage of convenience. Sweet, easy read. Enjoyable storyline. Happily-ever-after ending.

General market. Some language and sexual content. PG13 leaning at time toward R.

Admit it. The minute you read the title the Beatles song Can't Buy Me Love popped in your head. Am I right? I wonder if the author was listening to the song when she penned this book. Either way it's a great song and this is an equally great book.

As the Beatles sang "I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love". Blake Caldwell knows that truth all to well. Sure it can buy you a house full of servants and a garage full of shiny cars, but not love. If he inherits Aunt Virginia's estate, as he plans on doing, he might just manage to save Caldwell Clothing Company. It takes money to make money and he's done all he can to save the family business with his limited resources.

Aunt Virginia can best be described as a fire cracker. She always has to have her way and in death is no different. She is fully prepared to leave Blake the Caldwell fortune, including her estate. But under one condition, he must marry first. Blake the confirmed bachelor must marry in order to save that which he loves the most, Caldwell Clothing Company, He has poured his heart and soul into the company, but married?! Surely Aunt Virginia must be crazy. Besides, who would he marry? The girl he loves has left him to go overseas and nobody else would want him due to his playboy persona. Well, they might if the price is right, but he could stand to lose everything. So, who does that leave? The next girl who walks through the door?

Paige Parker is trying to adjust to life back in the states. She has lived the majority of her life with her father serving as missionaries in Africa. She naively assumed she would come back stateside and have a happy reunion with her sister and mom. What she gets though is a relationship that needs a ton of work and a hard time adjusting to life in the states. She has a temp job she hates, but desperately needs just to buy the basics. Her new boss,Noah, doesn't even know her name. Imagine her shock when she delivers the coffee service and gets a marriage proposal from the hunky millionaire! What's a girl to do?

A quirky aunt, a disillusioned missionary, a playboy millionaire, a phony marriage in name only, what could possibly go wrong? Can't Buy Me Love will have you laughing out loud from the start and won't stop until the end.

You Can’t Buy Me Love
By Amy Lillard

I finished reading this book on 3/4/2016, starting on 02/28/2016. What a fantastic imagination Amy has. I thought I had an idea how this would end but was wrong. This is another book that is hard to put down. What a decision that Blake put before Paige, was surprised she accepted the offer. That is one decision I would not want to be faced with. Amy Lillard is a high class writer. How she comes up with such great stories I will never know. She has so many stories in her to share with all of us, I highly recommend the reading of this book. I was surprised at the ending but loved it.

I read 'Can't Buy Me Love' this afternoon and I loved it. It was a cute, sweet marriage in name only romance.

Blake had an inheritance to collect. The will said he had one business quarter to get married or he would forfeit a vast sum of money. There were stipulations involved.

While meeting with his attorney, he met the attorney's temp employee after commenting that he would marry the next woman he saw.

I highly recommend this book. I have also read Brodie's Bride by the same author that is a great read as well.

Amy has managed to take us on a whirlwind romance, when Blake Caldwell finds his aunt still has control of the family company even after she passed away. Part of the terms is to make sure here confirmed bachelor nephew is married. So the tale begins, Amy has thrown in mystery, love, comedy, and some Spicey romance to give a wonderful story of finding love in a very unconventional way. Thanks Amy Lillard for a fun read.
