In the introductory prequel to "Captain, My Captain," and "You Said Forever," Captain Peter Davis and Joanna Beckett first meet in 1979. Although nine years her senior, Captain Davis can't resist the bright, funny, and incredibly sexy Joanna. After a whirlwind romance, they marry and begin a thirty plus year marriage which ultimately leads to the founding of the exclusive BDSM Club Decadence with some of Davis' men.
But Davis and Joanna have obstacles of their own to overcome. How does a domestic discipline marriage, started in the 1970s, grow and change through the years? And will their marriage ultimately survive Davis' commitment to his special-ops military career?
"Faithfully" is a prequel to "Captain, My Captain" and "You Said Forever." Like the other books in the series, it contains erotic BDSM elements in a domestic discipline marriage.

Peter and Joanna had married whilst he was serving, a wonderful story following their life and love This is a wonderful read and it tells the love and lives of Joanna and Peter who have met and her father is a military man and it was basically love at first sight. They marry quite quickly and he continues in his active service whilst she raises their family. Their devotion and love never wanes and they try to find an environment where they can safely and securely practice their enjoyment of BDSM but fail to find anywhere that meets their needs so determined decide to do something themselves with like minded individuals in their own circles. They have always had a HOH relationship and Joanna’s father had warned Peter early on that he needed to keep her reined in and he had done this by taking her across his knee as and when needed. The couple navigated the ups and down of married life and a military career together and although it is not always easy their love for each other is strong and their children grow up knowing they are loved dearly but that they are expected to behave or else pay the price for bad behaviour. As Peter and Joanna enjoy their life together and experiment in their love life which has always be very open, they decide to found the BDSM Club Decadence. A place where like minded individuals could be stringently vetted and then play in an environment that was safe for both Doms/Dommes and subs alike. I guarantee that once you begin this book you will read it in one sitting like me, it was an interesting change to read a story that actually incorporated the actual starting up of a BDSM Club and all that this involved. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This is a cool original story for the Decadence series. I love these 2 characters. They began their journey back when any kind of BDSM was considered quite aberrant and a form of mental illness. (True story. Go look it up.) I really enjoyed learning how their relationship as master and submissive evolved. It seemed very realistic. The story of their marriage was also sweet and real.
My only reason for 4 stars is the constant barrage of punishments the female lead has to endure. Sure, she was sexually charged and enjoyed it. But many times, the male lead was totally insensitive or flat out wrong. Somehow, the female is always considered wrong and must be punished. This played out in some of the other books in this series, and I didn't enjoy them. I get the power exchange. I understand the agreements between masters and submissives. But why is the female always wrong? This has been my complaint about this whole series. It's not sexy or hot to read the female lead is truly under the male's thumb even when she's right. There are some control red flags to me that made this series much less enjoyable than it could have been.

This was such an easy and enjoyable read that followed Peter and Joanna’s relationship with all of its ups and downs. What a ride for this couple. From the first time Peter set eyes on 18-year-old Joanna Beckett, he was captivated by her bubbly personality and sinful body. Peter was a Major in the army and was dominant at work and home, something that Joanna found hard to accept especially when he first introduced her to domestic discipline. This couple's journey together was insightful. Peter was loving and protective of Joanna, even more so when she broke their rules for her safety. They found ways to spice up their relationship over the years, and Joanna did not hesitate in pleasing her husband. I loved how sassy and resourceful Joanna was, but she was resentful at times of the long periods Peter spent away from their family. I loved this couple's openness and transparency with each other. They had the usual problems within their marriage, but their love was the glue that kept them together through thick and thin.
Maddie Taylor has given us a delightful saga of General Peter Davis and his wife Joanna's love story. From their first run‐in to the days following his active duty retirement, their love and devotion to one another plays out over decades of military commitments, separations and reunions, and blissful fulfillment from their D/s relationship. Peter is a military man through and through. He's no- nonsense, a fairly rigid disciplinarian but can bend at times and expects obedience to the rules. Yet, he's a giving, thoughtful and living man especially when it comes to Joanna. She's bubbly, sassy and a bit volatile, to her detriment, at times. She fell head over heels for the spit and polish Army Captain. Adherence to his rules could be challenging for her but the rewards for obedience were spectacular. She always felt adored and cherished. It's no wonder that they are the Patriarch and Matriarch of Club Decadence. A remarkable love story!
Peter and Joanna are the foundation for Cap, the other guys of Rossi, and their significant others. It is a quick read. It describes both Peter and Joanna as they work through the years to maintain their relationship, their love, and their lifestyle.
This story takes us from their initial meeting in the 70's to current times. Peter introduces Joanna to the lifestyle, which she embraces and acts as HOH when not deployed.
You also get a glimpse into how Joanna and Mara (from Second Time Lucky) came to know each other.
If DD, BDSM, spanking, and sexy scenes offend you, steer clear of this book. I read this in The Club Decadence box set via Kindle Unlimited.
I loved that we got a novella about 2 special characters in the Club Decadence series as it follows General Peter Davies and his beloved sassy wife Joanna have been behind the scenes in the early books of Club Decadence series to getting a prequel novella of their own that follows the highs and lows of their long lasting relationship, from when they first meet to their whirlwind marriage, subsequent adjustment while Peter was deployed and to their openness and communication as they try to develop their D/s, HOH dynamic…I loved their story and the start to Rossi Security and Club Decadence.

I loved this sweet well written erotic sexy story. Joanna is strong, resourceful and sweet. She has to be an army wife. Peter is protective and dominant. There are lots of hot erotic sexy scenes between them as they explore BDSM. I enjoyed their visit to Paris. They have a real and honest love that survives and lasts because they work at it. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I recommend it. A wonderful sexy story.
Peter & Joanna's story is a quick read that covers decades of their life and gives us their back story. It is super sweet and sizzling hot. It helps you understand the people they are in the Decadence series and how they came to be involved in the club and Rossi. Another great read!
Such a lovely story and it gives the background for the Club Decadence series. Peter and Joanne are such a great couple but I feel for Joanne and was so happy when she stood up for herself. It was interesting reading this after the other books and knowing what happens to Dex and Regan and the founding of Rossi security.
If you’ve read the other decadence books, this will give you the background for the General and Joanna. It’s such a wonderful story that spans 40+ yrs of their love.
Loved this novella... getting the story almost behind the story or rather the beginning of it all was perfect.! I wish I had read it first but it was 4th in the box set line up. It was however a great little fun break from the major drama in the other books.
A short but sweet look into how the future General Davies and his lovely wife, Joanna, met and grew as a couple. These two are definitely the parental figures in this series--Joanna, especially--and it was lovely to see how and why Club Decadence came together in the first place.
This novella is a great introduction to Peter and Joanna and Club Decadence. Their life, family and their Dom/sub relationship all meld together so wonderfully. Their story has ups and downs but their love, committment and rules guide them through.
I really enjoyed getting to read Joanna and Peter’s story. It was so sweet and sexy how they got started especially since we already knew them in their later years.
I really liked it! The story of Peter (General in US Army, business partner/owner of Rossi Security and Club Decadence, Dominant, bossy, alpha-male) and Joanna (Army brat, wife, mother, submissive). We first met Pete and Joanna briefly in Book 1 Captain, My Captain as the older couple from Club Decadence. This short novella takes a look back at their relationship many years ago. The story starts off in the 1970's when a much older Peter first meets 18 year old Joanna and they fall in love. I loved how Maddie Taylor paid attention to the decades that she wrote about. References like VCR and movies from the decades were accurately portrayed. I had my own flashbacks to those time periods as well!!
We learn how the couple came to be in a D/s and DD relationship. From marriage, children, grandchildren, retirement, etc. For some reason, Pete and Joanna's domestic discipline relationship was more believable than Regan and Megan's relationships. It seemed that Pete and Joanna were more connected, had a stronger bond. Pete was a hard ass, but he really listened to Joanna. He did not come off as a dictator. They just worked!
Why Not 5 Stars? I think the jumps in time were too large. For example, we went from the wedding to having two children ages 4 and 2. I wanted to know what happened in between! Was Pete there for the births? Did he name the children? Were the babies planned? Did they have the D/s and DD relationship right away? I know that it needed to be this way due to their age and the shortness of the book. However, I think I was hoping for more tender and steamy moments from this couple and I wanted more insight into their beautiful relationship.

I read this a little while ago so I'm late in my review. I adored the dynamics in this book. The domestic discipline was very well written and super hot! I fell in love with the characters and really became immersed in their life. While the time jumps very difficult to take at first, I got used to it and this is definitely one of my favourite kinky romance stories.
This was a very well written book. There is lots of spanking and kink, but nothing too violent or cruel, like some. I love that the couple continued with the lifestyle throughout their marriage and turned it into a business.
Nice to see marriage that can support each other, specially when you have a spouse in the Military. Really enjoyed this Book. Look forward to reading the series. If enjoy bdsm and dominate alpha, love this series.
I always wanted the backstory of these two and here it is. The good and the bad. I can only hope that my husband and I have the heat and connection these two do after so many decades together.
