About the author

Jennifer Domenico

28 books378 followers
Jennifer Domenico writes contemporary and erotic romances. She loves alpha males with a soft spot, flawed characters, and strong, sassy women. Her characters usually have a side of kink and aren't afraid to demand what they want. The author doesn't apologize for that. She's a sucker for a happy ending as long as it comes with a lot of heat.

She lives in Phoenix, Arizona but is a Bostonian at heart. The way to her heart can be reached with a foreign accent, a shot of Fireball, and an unlimited supply of cupcakes.

She is also known under her alter ego, Jaelyn LaStoria, author of time traveling romances, because why not. The first title is Lost Within.

What a hidden gem this book is. I would have never known about it had it not been on Amazon. I don't think I have seen any of my friends who have marked it to read. I am so glad I took a chance on it. The synopsis sounded familiar like a lot of other books out there however this story seemed to work for me. It was very sweet and the characters were just awesome. I wish more people knew about it. Hopefully this review will help to get the word out there. A must read.

MARVELOUS STORY!!!!

I was sucked into Ava and Enzo story immediately.  I love the storyline and even more loved that couple didn't have the normal breakup and get back together scene b/c one of them did something stupid.  This is a simple love story from the moment they sit together on the plane.  Actually no not a simple love story a HOT STEAMY OMG love story.  Enzo is totally a prince in every sense of the word and Ava is a strong genuine compassionate woman.  I loved these two together and I loved that there was truth between them from day one. And damn those kitchen scenes...more please!!!!

Although the hold my breath cliffhanger didn't make me happy but sometime a book needs more time to tell the story and this is one of them.

I thought the character development was spot on for the main couple. They had chemistry from day one and did something about it.

Of course the fact that this book deals with Italy and sunflowers two of my fave things it is a hit in my book and I can't wait for the next installment!!!!!!  I hope maybe Calvin and Gabby have their own story one day!!!

My Fave lines-
"You have excellent taste Miss. Bradshaw"
"Are you going to call me that the rest of my life?"
"No, someday I'm going to call you Mrs. Milano. I hope"

"Enzo?"
"Yes, amore?'
"You're staring at me again"
"I am and you're stunning."

"Beauty fades Enzo"
"Not your beauty Ava.  Your beauty is much more than just what is on the outside.  Fifty years from now I'll look into your Carmel colored eyes and see the same stunning woman standing in front of me right now."
"Enzo, you astound me. There can't possibly be a more eloquent, romantic man on the planet than you."
"You'll never find out."

What a fabulous read, truly fell in love with Ava and Enzo, and found them such a more loveable couple than A & C from FSOG and E & G from crossfire trilogy. I loved how the story and their relationship developed and even when the book ended with a cliff hanger, and you just wanted to read more, you were still left with such a great feeling and not all this up and down and knots in your stomach.

Happened to find this book by chance as it was recommended by a face book page I follow and so glad I decided to download it from Kindle to read. When I read what the book was about it sounded very interesting but there weren't a lot of reviews and one was only a 1star, so glad I didn't pay any attention to that one. I loved 50 Shades and Bared to you and was looking for a new great book to read that wasn't going to be over as soon as I started reading, was a great length. I was hooked just after a few pages and just couldn't put it down.

I loved the stories and loved the characters, you couldn't help but fall in love with them. And I loved that they had their differences and fights but it wasn't this game of they're together, they're apart then they're together again. I also loved that there were really good romantic sex scenes with great detail but the whole book wasn't sex scene after sex scene, there was actually substance to the book and great story line

A definate must read!

Turn Towards the Sun is a story of starting over, finding yourself, and love. This is a very sweet and endearing story, with amazing characters and twists and turns. Just when you think you know what will happen, something pops up and surprises you!

There is just something about Ava that won me over. It may be her heart, her devotion to her friends, or the fact that she is a go-getter. Or it could be the fact that she is looking to start her life over in a new city, and learn to live life to the fullest. Ava is a feisty woman that knows what she wants and how to pursue it.....Until a hunky man falls into her lap. She made me laugh and smile a bit when Enzo was brought into her story. To me it felt like Ava was a giddy school girl unsure of what was going to happen, even though she was dying to be in Enzo's arms. Could he be the man that will win her heart completely?

Mr. Enzo swoony Italian hunk, is everything any woman wants. He is outgoing, very rich, and has an accent to die for. Enzo shows us what it means to really have a passion for life. He is also a very well known architect. Enzo came to the US to start his own empire, after living a life of humble beginnings. He is a man that knows what he wants and when he wants it. When he is introduced to Ava, he was ready to have her in his life. But his current lifestyle is one and done, he is not the boyfriend type. So will Ava be able to make him that man, a man of love and monogamy?

Enzo and Ava are the perfect match made in Phoenix heaven. Both are very headstrong and are looking for more in their lives. Ava is in a way broken, and Enzo shows up at the right time to help pick up those pieces and wedge his way into her heart. Their chemistry is smokin' and full of hope. Ava and Enzo are learning to trust again and start their lives over. Can these two find the love they need to have a life long relationship? Or will their pasts come back to haunt them?

I am a sucker for romance and this story brought it. There was a ton of passion and steam too. I fell in love with each and every character. And all of the side characters bring so much more to Ava and Enzo's story. They help them grow and realize that love is important, and to not sweat the small stuff. Turn Towards the Sun is a captivating story, full of desires and longing. I am very excited to start book two in this series, as the ending threw me for a loop! Be on the lookout for books two (which is out now) and three to continue this wonderful series.

This is a Disney princess story, for adults!

Ava is the lucky principessa who gets swept off her feet by the amazing, romantic, hot, Italian prince. He's not really a prince but he sure lives the life of one.

This book is such a sweet fairy tale.
It does not have a lot of angst...sure there are a few moments where your heart stalls, making you think, "oh no..." but the author doesn't focus on all that type of drama in this book. There are definitely issues that they needed to work through, together, and they did so...successfully. It's really just about this beautiful couple falling in love, and learning to navigate through a life neither had ever imagined.

One of the things I loved most about this book is that they do not have sex until nearly the middle of the book. The author built up the sexual tension so well that when they finally do make love it was really hot and so meaningful for both characters.

I loved both characters in the book. Ava is strong-willed...not one who is willing to just be told what to do, no matter that Enzo is super hot and a gazillionaire. She stands up for herself and what she believes in. She doesn't back down from those who are trying to ruin her relationship with Enzo.

Enzo, sigh. Who wouldn't love a man who would give you the world, is a wonderful lover, sexy, protective, rich, romantic, and makes you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world? Sure he was a bit overbearing at times in the story and acts like a pompous ass to others sometimes...but through his relationship with Ava he was able to become a better man and learned to keep those undesirable qualities to a minimum.

The book ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, something I normally do not like. But, it wasn't a brutal cliffhanger...just kept me on the edge of my seat wondering where the story would go next.

I definitely recommend this book to those who are looking for a nice, sexy, love story. This is one I would definitely re-read, especially in between those really difficult, emotional books.

Yes, maybe one day I will unexpectedly be upgraded to first class and get swept off my feet by my own gazillionaire Italian stallion, no?

So poorly written I don't know where to start. Pretty obvious this wasn't professionally edited. No dialogue tags to speak of, the overuse of names during conversation, and the heroine acts more like a TSTL teenager than a grown woman makes for a horrible reading experience. The plot is inane and ridiculous, and the chemistry between the main couple beyond lacking.

The first chapter grabs you but then goes so far down hill. This reads like a very rough first draft. If you're going to self publish, and want go somewhere, please invest in an editor.

A big big pass on this one.

Maybe this type of romance will work well with a younger audience...It's just too mushy for me, and I mean really, really mushy. To some extent, professions of love and lovemaking scenes are more than fine; but if there is such a profusion, it's like what I said about the shades of grey series- it's like eating a dozen chocolate cake in one sitting...one can only take so much, even a hopeless romantic like me.

I would have given this 2 stars, but after all the squirmishness I read through, I didn't expect the "to be continued" ending. Really, I'd have to buy the ending???!!! That's not really fair! But yes, buy I did! I don't want any unfinished reading, even if I have to squirm sufferably through it.

Turn towards the Sun---
Oh Jennifer Domenico how I love thee!
When I started reading Turn towards the Sun, I was excited. I had many women tell me I just “had to meet Enzo”... and oh my hell they were right!
Ava Bradshaw is in need of a change. After a heavy break up and a bad situation she takes off to Arizona. She gets bumped to first class on the flight and her world changes just like that..... Enzo Milano is the handsome stranger who seems completely enthralled with our dear Ava. When Ava decides its wine-o-clock on the flight because she is so caught up in our gorgeous Enzo, she can’t get her mind right, and her life goes from seemingly nothing to a whirlwind of change. Enzo doesn’t do relationships but with Ava, he wants to try and they both fall head over heels for each other and decide to build a life together.
With twists and turns and ups and downs, this book was not what I expected. It was so much more. Jennifer does such an amazing job at portraying this beautiful man that knows what he wants and just how to get it, and this strong down to earth woman who gets the fairy tale that most of us girls dreamt about when we were little ones watching all of our princesses in the movies. With the visuals she paints, you can see every beautiful thing that she sees, and that our couple sees. She even throws a little crazy in there to shake things up when things get to pretty.
Enter Anna:
The nutty woman who works in one of Enzo’s hotels! She adds just the right amount of crazy to shake some things up.
I did not expect that at all by the way! JD did such a great job with this story that I actually went right into the second book so I could get more of Enzo and Ava. She has an amazing talent and I literally could not get enough. What she makes you see in your mind with her writing is nothing short of Beautiful and you cannot help but get wrapped up in all the love that these two characters share together. They are both strong when they stand alone, but when they stand together, they are unstoppable. This chick of course gave it 5 outta 5 stars and cannot wait for the third book in the trilogy so we can see how our adult fairytale wraps up! <3

"Girasole. It's the word for sunflower in Italian. It means turn toward the sun."

Turn Towards the Sun is a sweet and light story about second chances in life. Ava and Enzo have both been emotionally burned in the past. Throughout this book, we're taken through their romantic and steamy journey where we see them both learn to love again, freely and fully.
"I want you to feel like the most amazing, most special, most beautiful woman on the planet. Because to me, you are."

Hello yummy Italian. Enzo had me swooning A LOT. How could he not? He's a hot and successful alpha male who's very protective of Ava! Oh, and did I mention, ITALIAN? *fans self* He was indeed very dreamy.
"I am yours, Ava. All of me. I want to give you my all. Loving you and making you happy is my top priority. You're all I need."

I also really liked Ava. Moving to a new state after a bad break up, she begins her journey of starting over. She is a genuine and strong character that knows what she wants and goes for it. She doesn't put up with anyone's crap -- especially, Anna's. In all honesty, Ava is one lucky girl! Enzo is her true prince charming... with an accent!! *wink*

Just like Ava and Enzo, the secondary characters in this book were great and very well developed. Not counting the fact that Enzo and Ava fell in love rather quickly, I have to say that the story line had a very realistic pace. Some parts may have been a tad slow for my personal taste, but it's an overall very enjoyable read. As for the ending, CLIFFHANGER ALERT ! It pretty much ended right in the middle of a scene. And what a scene.

If you're looking for a sweet, light, and steamy love story, Turn Towards the Sun is book for you!
"Loving you as been my greatest joy in life. The fact that you love me back is the greatest accomplishment."

The characters in this book are awesome (except Anna she's a dirty mole)!! Jen Domenico made Ava real and I love her for that. I'm not a fan of whiney chicks and Ava is anything but. She has a couple of insecurities just like the rest of us but she is still a strong woman that can hold her own if need be. Enzo is amazing. You get a taste of the alpha in him but he's also a hopeless romantic. I liked that it was the guy for once making the girl wait to have sex. The shower scene was STEAMY!!

A couple times I thought some of the things he was doing was a little shady but it never went there which made me happy. I def thought he had something to do with her getting laid off AND then he didn't see her for a week which made me angry! lol When he came back I kind of wish she would've given him a little bit more of a hard time before jumping in his arms BUT it worked for them.

Thankfully I only waited a couple days before the sequel is due out (TODAY) to read this book because there is a cliffhanger that had me like WTF?!!

Needless to say I'm currently refreshing Amazon so I can 1-click to get my second Enzo fix!

I am a HUGE fan of this author so this was a super easy read. You know who will love it? romance, chick lit lovers and fans of erotic romance. The entire book just flows. From Enzo and Ava meeting on an airplane to the beginning of their love affair. He is the most eligible bachelor and she is a scorned woman. It was a semi-fairy tale read for me. I love the scenes with Francesca who is one of Enzo's sisters. She is a bright ray of sunshine, a designer and a fiercely loyal sibling.

Enzo owns Girasole, a beautiful resort hotel for the wealthy. He is shocked when she doesn't know who he is. For Ava it doesn't matter. She liked him and yes she was attracted to him but it was the greatest build up. For me she was a great character and not a gold digging tramp, like someone else. I think Ava and Enzo were attracted to each other but it wasn't like the bull crap sort of love, this was genuine and real. I love them! I fell like I am gushing!

Gushing over the wedding and their plans together. Their is a BIG danger lurking and at the end it is sort of revealed. Ive got the next book so here goes.... Thanks to Jennifer Domenico for creating a marvelous family!

This review is from: Turn Towards the Sun (The Sunflower Series) (Kindle Edition)

When Ava Bradshaw sat next to a stranger on her first class flight from Denver to Phoenix and let him order her a glass of Lambrusco, their destiny was pretty much sealed...and there begun their love story. Running away from a bad break up, she decided to uproot herself and move to another state and start over. Ready to face the unknown and uncertainties, instead she meets the devastatingly handsome, millionaire, and renowned Architect Enzo Milano, an extraordinary man who makes simple things sublime. As crazy as in love he is with Ava, he refused to sleep with her until they are both sure of their feelings and have declared their love for each other ( aww, do men like Enzo still exist? nah, I think they've broken his mold! LOL ) I recommend this highly, read it and you're in for a great romance combined with intrigue... all characters are well drawn out including the bitch from hell Anna! whom I'd like to slap around myself...ggrrrr!

Overall - okay romance. I didn't feel the emotional pull on this book as I have felt in other romances and didn't quite believe how the H, Enzo, fell instantaneously in love with the H, Ava after a short meeting on a plane? Also, not quite believable the story line and how fast it moves. Also, I felt there were so many scenes that were unnecessary to the story and ended up getting bored and skipping through the last 50 pages, something I rarely do. Normally, when a book is a series, even if it was so -so, I usually read the next one just to find out what happens. This book was so blah that I don't think I will go to book two

I'm not to sure where I came across this book but I'm so glad I did. Enzo is just....I have no words to describe him accurately but what I enjoy most about him is his absolute love and adoration for Ava. It's so sweet and the sex is so HOT! I read this in a day and moved right on to After the Rain. I rely heavily on Goodreads reviews before buying a book but I don't ever really feel passionate about taking the time to write a review. I didn't feel this way about this book. I'm anxiously waiting for book 3.

This book was wonderful. It is extremely romantic and has a great combination of sweet, sexy, and funny moments. The dramatic moments are just right, building the relationship between Enzo and Ava without distracting from the love story. Enzo knows how to spoil a woman and leaves you wishing you could swap with Ava, even if just for a few days. I read a lot of books, and this book is now on my favorites list and will be a re-read.

Ugh...I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I read great reviews, so I decided to see for myself. Enzo drove me a bit nuts...he flip-flopped between being hot and cold or alpha male and un-confident (not sure if that is even a word). I think it's good for the characters to have dimension to their emotions, but his seemed to go from one extreme to another....it seemed to emasculate him in my eyes. Even though the book ended on a cliff hanger, I'm not sure if I'll read the rest of the series.....

I really loved this story! This author is new to me, but was so happy a friend suggested her to me. I was drawn into Enzo and Ava's fairy tale from the beginning. It really makes you believe in love at first sight. And I loved all the Italian aspects from the language to the trip to Italy. While this book does end in a cliffhanger, I don't mind as much knowing that more Enzo and Ava are out there.

TI AMO ENZO!

Ava Bradshaw comes home early from a disastrous girls trip to find her boyfriend asleep, in their bed, with a naked woman. Does she scream? Does she throw things? No! She turns around, walks out, leaving everything behind and goes to her parents house. Her solution to this mess that is now her life? She decides to move to Arizona and start over from scratch. Also promises to swear off men for at least a year.

Enzo Milano is a rich relatively famous architect and hotel magnate. He’s been once burned so he’s twice shy and is all about going from woman to woman for casual encounters without any kind of commitment. He surrounds himself with his assorted siblings and grows his empire. His business, his family and Italy are his life and the things that he loves the most.

How do these two meet? Ava gets bumped to 1st class so that a family can all sit together and gets seated next to Enzo. Ava thinks he is the most beautiful man she’s ever laid eyes on. At this point we don’t know what Enzo thinks of Ava but he decides to be nice to her. Unfortunately or fortunately in this case, he introduces her to Lambrusco. Her nerves make her drink a little too much too fast and Ava ends up drunk. Her belongings haven’t arrived and she doesn’t have the keys to her new apartment. I guess this move wasn’t fully thought out in her haste to get the heck out of Dodge. What’s a girl supposed to do? What else? Accept the offer of the rich, hotel owning, very sexy man that sat next to you on the plane. Did I mention that Enzo is Italian and has an accent?! C’mon who could resist that combination?! The promise to swear off men for a year goes out the window as fast as a snowflake would melt in hell.

Enzo continues to be generous. Ava is overwhelmed and really not sure how to deal with Enzo’s financial generosity, his sweet words and his romantic gestures. Oh! What a problem to have! There are definitely some bumps in the road, a bad “guy” that threatens their safety and just enough angst so that it won’t make your teeth hurt. Turn Towards the Sun is instalove for sure. It is also sweet and tender, very Pretty Womanish and I loved it. Jennifer Domenico even manages to weave in the theme of “family” and all that entails. Honestly, this was just what the doctor ordered because I’ve been reading some really emotional angsty stuff lately.
As I type this I am really looking forward to Book #2 called “After the Rain” which is sitting on my Kindle. Thank you Jennifer for writing feel good stuff that still brings the sexy.

Ava Bradshaw is stuck in mid-flight. On the edge of her thirtieth birthday, she finally ends a devastatingly bad relationship that left her wounded and insecure. With a plane ticket in her hand, she sets out to make a life for herself in sunny Phoenix, Arizona.

What she didn’t plan on was meeting the intense Italian architect Enzo Milano, a local celebrity in Phoenix. The handsome and commanding Enzo sweeps the passionate and vibrant Ava into his world of galas, prestige, luxury, and money.

Enzo is charming, breathtakingly gorgeous, and a self-made American success story. He’s also a seasoned womanizer who has zero interest in relationships. Still, he can’t deny there is something special about Ava and considers trying an old-fashioned romance.

Sexy, humorous, and touching, Turn Towards the Sun will resonate with any woman whose life didn’t quite work out as she planned.

Turn Towards The Sun is the first book in the Sunflower Trilogy by Jennifer Domenico. You meet Ava when she is on her flight to Arizona, she gets bumped up to first class where she sits next to the sexy Enzo. She is instantly attracted to Enzo but he comes off a little cold at times and rude, but slowly that fades away. She has no idea who Enzo is or that he is a rich playboy. When he puts her up in one of his hotels and begins to spoil her, she has a time dealing with it. What she doesn’t know is that Enzo is very much attracted to her and wants her for his own. Too bad she has to deal with a jealous bitch who is nasty to her every chance she gets.

Enzo is a sexy Italian architect who is known as a major playboy seen with different women all the time, but there is something about Ava that makes him want to change his ways. Enzo at times seems insecure about Ava leaving him, you can tell there is something or someone in his past that has hurt him. He wants Ava as his own and sets out to spoil her and make her his.

I liked this book, it is the start of a fairytale type romance where the prince comes and sweeps the princess off her feet type of book. There is more to it though, it was sexy and sweet. There is also a little mystery to it as well. While at times it did move a little slow then at others it seemed a little rushed, overall it was an enjoyable book. There is a cliffhanger so be forewarned. I will like to continue reading this trilogy just to see if Ava and Enzo will get their fairytale Happily Ever After or if people or events will tear them apart.

5 Stars!!!

I absolutely loved this book. I have to say I am a sucker for a good love story and this is by far a great one. Let's not forget to mention that it is a story about an Italian man who just happens to be sexy and charming. I Love me a hot Italian man, and from reading this book I now even know a little Italian. :)

Ava decides to move from Denver, Colorado to Phoenix, Arizona for a fresh start. She needs her independence to prove to herself she can go on in life without a man. She makes a plan not to have sex with another man or get involved for at least one year, but that all changes when she meets Enzo on the plane to Phoenix.

Enzo is a very rich man and known for his work in architecture especially in Phoenix. Enzo shows Ava that love is real, and that he is very serious about her from the start.

We get to see these two fall in love, and fast. A love that is deep, and that brings these two alive. There are of course some bumps in the road through the story. Wouldn't be a love story without a little drama.

Did I mention, that Enzo and Ava have some steamy hot sex as well! Who doesn't love a good story with that. ;)

There were so many moments when I would find myself smiling and laughing with the characters as if I were there with them. This story really pulled me and made it hard to stop reading at times.

I am so excited to continue reading this trilogy. If you love reading romance and want a book with a happy ending then this story would be it! I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading more from Jennifer Domenico.

I really wanted to like this book. I did. And I tried. I thought the first chapter was full of promise. Who can't relate to a woman starting a new life in a new place after a horrible relationship and break up? I loved that Ava (our main female character) knew that moving away from her family and best friend was a huge risk, but was willing to take it. It was the only way to give herself a fresh start. I thought that her introduction to Enzo, our hot, Italian millionaire main male character, was quite something! There was so much potential!!

And that was where it ended for me. The rest of the book lacked depth in both plot and character development. There was so much room for more...more detail, more exploration...just more. The pace of the book was very fast for me. The entire book spans 2 months and in those 2 months we go from them meeting to their wedding day. There was so much that could have been expanded upon that would have made the story more believable and relatable. There was a lot of repetition. Enzo and Ava spend a lot of time eating, saying "I love you" and having sex. Even those events lacked depth.

There are other books in the Trilogy, but I will be taking a pass on those.
