It's all fun and sexy games...until someone gets married...

Some women are more dangerous than others. For me, it's like a stoplight. Green means go. Yellow is proceed with caution. And red? Red means you'd best run like hell, because that woman is gonna be serious trouble. The red hair on that hot little Vegas showgirl should be my warning, but I'm a sucker for breaking the rules...

Morgan Collins is a dancer with a body meant to bring a grown man to his knees, and keep him there. Yet I can't resist the sexual attraction—intense, fierce as hell, and red-fucking-hot. But I won't let myself get burned after one night of booze and lust. All I have to do is walk away. Except when I wake up the next morning, Morgan is my wife...and all hell is about to break loose.

"Jesus Christ, woman. Your place or mine? Mine's a ten minute taxi ride away"
"Mine's five"

"Then I'm f**cking my wife in my honeymoon suite in my bed until she can't remember why she refused to admit she wanted me in the first place"

"Honey? What we just did right there wasn't just any f**king. That was consummation"

"The hell you don't. You're my f**king wife in every way that counts"

Take Me is a quick satisfying read that left me with a smile on my face. This is perfect for when you need a dash of romance. :) Plus, Mike makes everything hot <3

Mike had a system to remain single and detached. Get out before they get clingy. He even had a speech prepared for those awkward moments. But he meets his match when he spots Morgan, a woman that’s shoving him out of the door before he can even get his pants pulled up.

For the first time Mike finds himself wanting more from a woman, even though he doesn’t understand why. But he knows he isn’t done with her after one night, even if she thinks she is.

Morgan has loved one thing her whole life. Dancing. She vowed to never put anything between her and her dreams. Every man has forced her to pick and every man was left in the dust because she chose dancing every time. One night with Mike was all it was supposed to be. But after he chases her, the second night takes an unexpected turn when these two wake Vegas style, drunk and married.

I read this story immediately after finishing the prior book in this series and I loved that Morgan was not weak. She may have been stubborn, but she certainly was not weak. Thank God. I really enjoyed this story and although it escalated quickly, it didn’t feel like it did. Mike had been watching everyone around him fall in love and remain happy, seeing this seeped into him little by little – I loved that he wasn’t just going to dismiss his feelings. That he was going to explore them to see where the led him.

Overall I really enjoyed this one and think this author is one that I’d continue to read in the future. There is something that I enjoy about the simple romances. A good pick-me- up-read for when the high drama reads get to be a little too much.

1. The 'accidentally married in Vegas' didn't work for me.
2. Wasn't really convinced by the chemistry between these two.
3. Mike was okay enough.
4. Didn't particularly like Morgan.
5. There were some nice dashes of humor.
6. It was nice to see the supporting cast from the previous books.

Diane Alberts is a bit of a hit a miss author for me. Some of her stuff I really like some if it I don't. Take Me landed somewhere right in the middle. It was a book I shouldn't have enjoyed. I have read the whole 'accidently married in Vegas' thing a million times and am bored of it. Also I hate these storylines where women won't be in a relationship because of their careers, as though having ambition makes it impossible to date. That woman cannot have both.

Yet, despite that, I liked this book. The characters were likeable. I enjoyed the chemistry between Mike and Morgan. I thought the storyline flowed really nicely and I liked the touches of humour.

The mighty Mike finally gets tamed. Who would have thought.

For Mike the self proclaimed bachelor for life gets tangled up with a one night stand that just happens to be his match (physically, mentally and emotionally).

Morgan refuses to settle down as she wants nothing to get in her way of her career.

For Mike and Morgan one night leads to two and then the unthinkable happens.

"I can't shake this feeling that I didn't make a mistake last night."

After Mike and Morgan calm down after their surprise they decide to give it a go and see what this relationship thing is all about.

What they quickly realize is that the reasons they wanted to stay single couldn't stand up to fate and the one.

This series is such a cute, quick read and Mike's story so far just may by my favorite of the bunch.

Mike and morgan want the same. A no strings attached night. No commitment. A night with a lot of drinking and a marriage later though things change. They try to figure out if they can make things work out. Both are stubborn and refuse to acknowledge their feelings for the other. Morgan is career focused. I liked her. To be honest the books in this series have lost their appeal for me.

I liked Mike's theory (the my lack of better word) for relationships and green, yellow and red lights.

"You just wait. One of these days you'll meet a girl who makes you forget everything you wanted out of life and show you how much you were missing."~Garrett

Mike was so cocky, arrogant, and emotionally closed off in the other books that I could not wait to see him meet his match. He was a good friend and fantastic overprotective big brother, but he was the "love them and leave them" kind of guy with no intention of ever getting seriously involved or married. He made fun of his sisters and friends that got suckered into it.

He had rules and theories. Only hang out with green light woman that were safe from commitment, if they got to the danger zones of yellow light or heaven forbid critical red light situation, he was out of there! He was cocky, sarcastic, arrogant, and so sure of his convictions. His past had taught him that he did not want any part of a relationship. He was sure he was never going to change.

But then BAM! A fiery redhead, Morgan literally knocks him on his ass. She was strong, independent, sassy, and confident. Their first encounter is heated in that he pissed her off, but led to another kind of intense heat situation. Morgan is a female version of Mike...maybe even worse. She does not want to settle down either. She loves her dancing career and does not need a man holding her back or stopping her from following her dreams. So she can actually appreciate a man who does not want entanglements.

"Why do you keep running away from me?"~Mike
"Why do you keep chasing me?"~Morgan
"Damned if I fucking know.
"Fair enough...to constantly chasing women who don't want to get caught."
"To catching you--which I will do. And you'll like it."

But just one more night, some alcohol, and the Vegas scene is enough to change everything. They wake up in a seriously unanticipated state with rings on their left ring fingers. Then they have to deal with the fall out. I loved seeing Mike turn more vulnerable, question everything he ever believed, and show some emotion. He was always so sure of himself and Morgan ripped the floor right out from underneath him. She was determined to stand her ground and was not needy or clingy in any way. And their chemistry was hot and steamy. They were two stubborn people thrust into a strange situation with crazy strong feelings and no clue what they really wanted and needed. And scared senseless.

"I don't want to walk away....which is why I should. I've always wanted to leave. To move on. But with you It's different. I'm different."~Morgan

"I'm different too...That's exactly why we should stay together for at least a couple of days. Both of us have avoided commitment for all of our lives but we both want to stay. To try. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but maybe that means something. Maybe we mean something, together."~Mike

As they spend more time together, will they realize that maybe being together is meant to be or will two commitment phobes turn tail and run?

It was a short, funny, intense, sexy, and sweet read. I really like this series and enjoy Diane's writing style and her characters. Even though they are novellas, you still get a good feel for these characters and you cannot help but like them. And that fact that the characters from the other books in the series make appearances just adds to the enjoyment. But these can really all be read as stand alones so do not think you have to start from the beginning to read this one.

Remember when I reviewed Play Me (You know two weeks ago LOL) by Diane Alberts? I was on the fence because I wasn't thrilled with the heroine.. she rather drove me nuts? Well, Take Me is book four in that series and in my most humble opinion, Ms Alberts redeems herself. In Take Me, we get the story of brother Mike (no not a priest.. sheesh). The sibling of the two women in books Love Me (Brianna - sorry no review) and Play Me (Kiersten - reviewed). and you know it's always fun when the I am gonna stay single forever, love 'em and leave 'em type falls.. they always get so gobsmacked!!

Mike Worth wrote the book on how to NOT have a relationship. He even has a stop light theory. Seriously, it's hysterical. Sure he's a serious guy. Loves his sisters and is a great teacher.. A great coach, a great friend. But he saw how commitment destroyed his mother.. Ok her commitment and so not his father's.. He saw how Brianna was devastated when her first husband died and how Kiersten almost lost it when she caught her fiance (before Garret) boinking his secretary. So he has grounds to be a bit leary but this man seriously takes it to an extreme.. Until, one night in a Vegas bar, his world is totally rocked.

Morgan Collins has a plan.. and it doesn't include a man. As a professional dancer she knows her career life is short. And honestly, her dreams include dancing at this point in her life. Not husband, babies and carpools. Her mother had been a prima ballerina and gave it all up for love.. Morgan knew it was the right choice for mom, but Morgan wants to live the dream before giving it up. So when she is alone in a Vegas bar and overhears this gorgeous man's stoplight theory she is on board with it. Only one night a drunken debauchery is more than a one night stand.. Seriously, this is Vegas..

Waking up after a night of drunken fun and serious debauchery, when both are consenting adults should be no problem. Waking up with wedding rings.. yeah not so much.. I found this book interesting because while Mike was totally afraid of commitment, he got that there was something special about Morgan. That they had listened to an inner need, while drunk, an maybe they should give it a chance. Now talking Morgan into it is a totally different story. Morgan wasn't bitter, wasn't angry and wasn't unreasonably gun shy, she just had her own plans.. and so far no man really got that. So how could a hottie she met one night in a bar understand?

I enjoyed this book.. it was a sweet, short read but it played on the magic of Vegas and the great what if? It gave a nod to the fact that there is someone out there for everyone, you just have to be open to them when they show up. AND it showed that the right person believes in your dreams and doesn't hamper them. Of course the shock and amazement that went through Morgan when she found out her hottie was a 7th grade history teacher was pretty funny.

It was also fun to see Mike interact with his friends.. and each explain to their only, non teacher friend, why his subject was the best. I liked that the men were teachers.. it just made it more fun somehow.. horn dog by night, dependable 7th grade teacher by day.. you know human..

While, I haven't read the entire series I do think this one wrapped it all up nicely... I suggest you take some time to enjoy it all.

Take Me is the fourth book in Diane Alberts’ Take a Chance Series and I have been a huge fan of the series from the first book. Take Me is a fantastic addition and rivals the first book, Try Me, as my fave in the series.

Morgan Collins isn’t like a lot of women her age. She’s not looking for a husband or the 2.5 kids all comfortably tucked away behind a white picket fence in the suburbs. She’s a dancer and it’s all she’s ever wanted to be. She lives in the spotlight and thrives on the stage. When she meets Mike at a bar after a show, she’s completely put off by his attitude and cockiness. But if she’s being honest with herself, she can’t deny he’s pretty damn sexy and may be quite interesting to get to know better….for tonight. After overhearing Mike talk to his buddies and his own theories on love, she is more certain that he’s perfect company for tonight. His views on love and relationships are exactly the same as hers. Surely one night between the sheets will be enough for both of them…..well, you know what they say about the best laid plans.

Looking around the bar at his friends, Mike Worth knows there’s no way these guys will ever be celebrating HIS bachelor party. He’s not the marrying type. Never has been. He’s living his love life exactly the way he wants and in his own terms. He loves his job as a middle school history teacher and loves having new women to keep him occupied after hours. Yep, life is good and the feisty red-head he met at the bar tonight is exactly the type of gal he’s in the mood for tonight. True to his exemplary taste in women, she doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the sex….but she does disappoint when she’s the one to cut the evening short after their tryst. That’s neer happened to Mike before. He’s the one to let the gal down easy after the fun had ended. Now, he can’t get Morgan out of his head and he soon realizes he may be in serious jeopardy of throwing all his relationship cautions to the wind.

From start to finish, this novella was hot and filled with passion and feeling. To have the smart and sexy Mike meet his match was just priceless! Morgan had him all tied up in knots from the moment they meet and is it so delicious! She really gave his game right back to him and it was so fun to watch how it played out. We know Mike from the pervious books, and as much as I love him, I knew although he may be constantly knocking the whole ball and chain thing, he truly was missing it. Morgan is strong, talented and determined. She lives her life to make herself happy and even thought she is happy, you can tell that deep down she has a longing for more. Morgan and Mike were paired beautifully and the push and pull between them jumped off the pages. They have fantastic chemistry. Without getting spoilery, I will just say that I absolutely LOVED the last few chapters. I could see it all playing out in my mind’s eye and it was just perfect for Mike and Morgan *dreamy sigh* I also loved that in the epilogue we got to see all of the characters form the series, together. To see the entire family with spouses and kids was just wonderful! Such a treat!
Thank you, Diane, for another fun, flirty, sexy and emotional read!

I loved this book!!! Its short, sweet, and has a smoking cover but wow- is it jam backed for such a small book.
lAs vegas photo: Las Vegas las-vegas.jpg
This story is set if Las Vegas were Mike Worth lives. Mike does not do relationships, he believes in the Green, Yellow, Red light system. When he is with a girl and its going well its all green lighted for Go. When she starts to want more, he starts to go into yellow zone and starts to brake. If it starts to become more than that- immediate brakes and red light means he is out of there....
red light photo: red light red.jpg

So when he meets Morgan in a bar during his friends bachelor party he was thinking of nothing but a quick green light event. Little does Mike know that Morgan plays the game better than him. Morgan is career focused and only wants one time events and not relationships. She has a goal to be a successful dancer, so when these two meet up and Mike refers to her as a stripper sparks fly and Morgan tries to get the last word in only to have Mike chasing her down. After She gives into Mike because, well, lets admit- he's hot and she wants it as bad as he does, she ends up kicking him to the curb right after..For once, Mike can't believe he has been out played.

hot couple photo: cute couple hot-12.jpg

3 days later we find Mike trying to focus at work (he's a history teacher)
male teacher photo: male teacher teach.jpg
But he can't because all he can think about is Morgan. When his fellow teacher friend reminds him of a casino re-opening that he is to attend. Then sure enough Mike see's that Morgan is one of the star dancers of the show. Mike can't help himself and goes after Morgan again and gets her to agree to another night with him.

The next morning Mike and Morgan wake up both hung over and well.... I can't say because it would give it all away. But let's just say these two run warm, cold, and smoking hot throughout the book. And the epilogue was wonderful. Amazing how people have ideas of what they want in life and how love can change everything. Great story....

Take Me by Diane Alberts is the fourth book in the Take a Chance series.

A fun, light-hearted romance. A quick read and a fantastic series!

This was not my favorite book of the four - I felt like everything just happened so quickly and then it was over. That being said, I still really enjoyed Mike & Morgan's story, just not as much as the others in this series.

Mike is not a relationship kinda guy. He has a theory about dating. He even named his theory. Are you ready for it?
Mike's Stoplight Theory
-Compare your time with a woman to a stoplight.
-Green means go.
It’s the first or second date and she’s looking at you with those bright eyes and big pouty lips...This is the time to enjoy what’s freely offered with no worries of tomorrow. Talk, laugh, and have some fucking fun. But when you see her again—and if you sleep with her again—then you’re in the yellow zone.

-Yellow Zone
And you better think very carefully before stepping into the yellow zone, my friends. If you go back for second helpings, that’s fine. Encouraged, even, if you know what you’re getting yourself into. But the second you’re finished, she’s going to be wanting to see you again. And she’s going to want confirmation that you want to see her again.”
“So what do you do then?” Riley asked, his cheeks flushed. “I give my very detailed, very sweet—yet stern—speech abouthow I’m not looking for a relationship right now. I tell her I can’t see myself ever settling down enough to think of the big ‘M’ word. If she cries, then that’s the end of the yellow zone.”

-Red Zone
You’re in the red, and you get the fuck out of there with your ass hanging outta your pants if need be.”

Morgan is a dancer in Vegas. A DANCER and NOT a stripper.
She danced because she was a dancer. She didn’t know a life without dancing and hoped she never would. Dancing was her life. The thing that made her happiest and most fulfilled.

When they meet, sparks fly - not the lovey-dovey kind, the furious kind. They keep trying to one-up each other until the get so heated and competitive they end up in bed together.

I'm definitely hoping that there will be more in this series. I really enjoy the setting in Vegas and the intertwining of all the families and people in the four tales we have had so far.

Ok, I think this is the last book in the Take A Chance series, and it totally rocked! It went out with a bang, and if you’ve read any of this series you MUST read this one. The epilogue alone was freaking fantastic, and then you get the story of Mike and Morgan. This couple is something else, I tell ya! Now I’ve read three out of four of these books, somehow I skipped book two. Either way, I don’t think you’d be terribly lost to read these as a standalone, but I think they absolutely rock as a series in order.

Mike is the guy we got to know a little bit in the last book, Play Me. He was a bit of a jerk, but in a playful way. Anyhow, you get to know him as the player. Mike is never going to get tied down with a woman. He even has a whole stoplight theory on how to be with a woman, and let me just say it’s an eye opener. Right away I was excited to know he was going to get his ass and his heart handed to him in this book.

Morgan is a dancer, but not a stripper! Unfortunately this is not a clarification Mike has before he opens his big mouth. Well, Morgan is also a bit of a firecracker, and a little stand-off turns into a drunken night of fun and that leads to… well, marriage.

He stopped at the red light and leaned closer, his lids drifting shut. She closed the rest of the distance between them, and he kissed her, his tongue playing with hers in seconds. As she clung to him and returned the kiss, she couldn't help thinking that if she needed help with anything, it would be learning how to keep him at arm's length.

Teach me how to keep my heart safe, before I lose it.

There are so many fun sparring type situations in this book. Mike and Morgan definitely go head to head and its awesome. And then their make up sex, omg, its awesome too! I think they are probably my favorite couple in the series, they were just so much fun. I mean, you see someone, your attracted, you bicker, you make up, you have some drinks, and then wake up the next morning and your married. Awwwesome! And you get some cameos from previous couples, and that’s always fun.

So this series is really quick. Depending on how fast you read, it’s a one or two sitting read, generally. But Diane Alberts really packs it in during those pages. Every book is filled with drama and some super hot sex. And I love how she makes these men so up front about being in love with the heroines. The men are persistent, and it just makes me want to cheer. Vegas is the perfect setting for the whole series, but this book especially. Let me just say one thing, and you’ll get it after you read it, but I fucking love it.

I've mentioned before how much I love Diane Albert's contemporary romances, she always writes such realistic characters who have fantastic chemistry and Take Me is no exception to that. Although this is the fourth book in the Take A Chance series it can easily be read as a stand alone story, I would happily recommend all of the books though because they've all been great reads.

If you have read any of the previous stories you'll already know Mike through his sisters Brianna and Kiersten. While he has always been a protective big brother who wants nothing but the best for his sisters he has always been a huge commitmentphobe who balks at the idea of a long term relationship, let alone marriage. I've always liked Mike so I've been looking forward to his story for quite a while now. As we get to know him we realise that he isn't quite the womaniser he pretends he is, as much as he isn't interested in commitment he doesn't go home with a different woman every night either. In fact it's been quite a while since he last went home with anyone. Morgan catches his eye when he is out celebrating his best friend Garrett's bachelor party, the chemistry between them is undeniable but for the first time in his life Mike finds the woman is the one to send him packing while he is hoping for more.

Morgan is determined to focus on her dancing career and the last thing she needs is a man in her life who will stop her following her dreams. She wants to be free to travel for her job and only agrees to see Mike again because he is so adamant that he isn't looking for a relationship. She might as well enjoy the no strings incredible sex before she moves on. When a drunken night out ends with the two of them married they are both horrified but Mike is sure there must be a reason that they went along with something so impulsive - he just needs to convince Morgan to give them a chance.

I really loved seeing the tables turned on Mike, he is so used to being the one who walks away that it comes as a shock to his system when Morgan is the first to run. He isn't afraid of a challenge though and he knows when something is worth fighting for. I though they made a great couple and I loved the fact that he was supportive of her career even when it meant she would be away from him for months at a time. Theirs was a really sweet story and I absolutely loved the epilogue that gives us a glimpse of how all 4 couples from the series are doing five years later. Although I'm sad that the series has come to an end that was the perfect finale.

Mike is a playboy who makes his theory of hook up/ relationships known. Morgan is a professional dancer who lives for her career. She doesn't need a man to tie her down. She's up for one night stands but doesn't want to get caught in the guys trap of trying to stay with her. When Mike takes her seat in the bar they have a connection and just cant keep their eyes off of one another which leads them to hooking up. Morgan pretty much leaves leaves him before the night is through, normally Mike would give up a speech so the girl will leave. After she leaves Mikes just can't think straight without her and by chance they meet again. After one night of celebrating they wake up with wedding rings and no clear memory of the night before. Morgan wants it annulled but Mike wants to play the part of married couple if only for one week. Get the perks of sleeping around with each other but at the end of the week they make promises of divorce. What could possibly go wrong?

As a note for those of you who haven't read the previous Take A Chance Series that thankfully each book is its own. So you can read them in whichever order you like. Its the reason I took up this book for the tour other then the hot bod on the cover and the interesting description of the book. This was the first book I've read in this series and with how this book turned out I'll be taking a chance (He he I couldn't help myself) and checking out the other books.

I loved this quick, sweet and steamy read. It was fun and I enjoyed reading it. It only took me like 2 hours to get through the book. Once I started the book I just couldn't put it down. I loved the characters. I loved the connection between the Morgan and Mike. I loved that there was more then one point of views because I got to really see what they were thinking and how they were slowly changing and falling for one another. I loved that there was a back story reasoning as to why Mike felt the way he does about relationships and marriage rather than just being a playboy. I see that a lot of times the playboy characters are just cocky and way too confident just because of their looks with no good reasoning behind that. Mike had a story so it was easy to understand why he felt the way he did about that topic. I thought this book was very well written. I also liked the ending of this book everything felt complete with no loose ends.

Overall I enjoyed this book and recommend you lovely readers to check it out.

Book provided by publisher via NetGalley.com for impartial review. No remuneration was exchanged and all opinion presented herein are my own except as otherwise noted.

Diane's books often appear light and fluffy but they are filled with emotional growth and super sexy hook ups. They do not lack a family orientation (ie., commitment) though. TAKE ME the story of a Vegas showgirl and a HS history teacher (my teachers never looked like this cover, that's for sure!) is a little on this side of unbelievable; the thing too many girls dream of: a confirmed player changing his stripes and taking himself out of the game -- "I'll be the one to change him."

In this instance, he has to be the one to change her too. This is an equal opportunity no-strings lovers book. But, when cupid strikes this couple could become more entangled than a can of silly string.

Ugh. The message bugs me on an intellectual, I've seen too many friends go through this and read too many books about it and seen umpteen movies where this is perpetrated. If you think you can change anyone other than yourself you are wrong.

And, so Diane, being a savvy gal herself, points out that both Morgan and Mike each has to figure out their needs and what s/he really wants. Do they want to risk freedom for love. Both come from parents for whom marriage was a game changer. The mistake is in thinking that because one person in their past was a certain way all marriages are that way.

I like the characters, they are a little different. I think they are a bit blind to reality and that was driving me a little nuts. This blindness is a common device that allows a writer to quickly build a dramatic romantic situation. I would llike to say I don't know anyone who would be this blind, bit I probably can't. It is possibly one of the most common tropes in romance writing.

I like that Diane has placed this dramatic set of siblings in Las Vegas -- not somewhere we usually think of as a family town. It may well be all kinds of family cuddly but that's not how it is perceived (What happens in Vegas - remember?).

The book is the fourth in a series about siblings; but it stands just fine on its own. I have enjoyed the series for its heart, unapologetic sappy emotions, and searing sheet time. I can highly recommend it to someone wanting an emotional but not terribly taxing read.

First off...I have to say I LOVE the cover for Take Me. I mean seriously who wouldn’t?

I feel a little behind the eight ball so to speak when it comes to this series. I didn't read the first two books, only the third one and this one. But from the third book (Take Me), I could tell Mike was going to be someone special. And he was going to need someone just as special to capture his heart and let him know that it was okay to love someone. Mike totally met his match with fiery red-headed Morgan.

There’s nothing like waking up in Vegas realizing you're married. That’s exactly what happened to Mike Worth and Morgan Collins after knowing each other for a very short amount of time. Mike is a middle school history teacher and Morgan is a Vegas Showgirl. The two originally met at a bar while Mike was with his friends celebrating one of them getting married. Mike mistakes Morgan for a stripper and the sparks fly for these two in more ways than one.

Mike comes across being an alpha player, but deep down he's a good guy with a heart of gold. He's all talk with his red light, yellow light, and green light theory on relationships. Mike and Morgan are so much alike. I mean these are two people whose life goal is to NOT get married or have meaningful relationships. Mike watched his mother lose herself to the bottle after his father left the family. And in Morgan’s mind, her mother lost herself and her dreams to being married and having kids.

The story is told from the points of view of both Morgan and Mike. I love that because you get to see what each is thinking. See their hopes, dreams, and biggest fears.

One my favorite lines is from a drunk Mike, on why he’s marrying Morgan.. “I think I’m gonna fall head over ass in love with this woman, and she’s mine. I love how determined she is to succeed, and I want to watch her grow. Help her.” ~ To that end, once these two realize they’re married, Mike begs Morgan to at least give them a week to see if their hot sexual chemistry will just fizzle out or if there really is something to their relationship. I have to admit what happened between the pages of this book almost brought me to tears.

Sadly, this is the last book in Diane’s Take a Chance series, but it brings all the series’ couples together and gives the series a very nice send off.

So if I was walking through a bookstore, glanced over & saw this cover, I would consider it a personal invitation from the universe. Um, YEAH! I’LL TAKE YOU!! Wahooooo! Okay, now that I have that out of my system… here’s the deets. “Take Me” is the fourth book in the “Take A Chance” series – and yes, I’ll be going back to read the first three, thankyaverramuch. Novella length – 112 pages for $1.99. Publisher is Entangled, and as I’ve mentioned recently, I’m really diggin’ their authors! Since I’m participating in the blog tour, I did receive a copy of this in exchange for an HONEST review.

The story starts with Mike at his best friend’s (& future brother-in-law) bachelor party. He is explaining his “stoplight method” of dating – which is basically if she gets too clingy, you’re at a red light and hightail it out of there even if your pants aren’t done up yet. There were so many times in this book when I just had to laugh about something Mike said – like when he was thinking about how he didn’t think marriage was for him because the thought of waking up with the same person day after day was “Madness. Pure madness.” LOL! Of course, we can all figure out where this is going — Mike picks up a girl in the bar, Mike & girl, Morgan, admit to no desire to ever marry, Mike & Morgan get drunk, Mike & Morgan wake up… MARRIED. In the interest of placating their libidos, Mike & Morgan decide to stay married for a week & then decide what they want to do.

While the plot may seem overused, it’s the use of the characters by Diane Alberts that makes “Take Me” worth the read. (Well, okay, so there are some happy-happy scenes that are good, too [wink]). Here are two people scared from marriage based on their perspectives of their parents’ marriages, but so obviously wanting to have that connection with a partner that they are willing to work through the hard stuff. I do have to say that I thought it was a bit of a flip-flop — Mike seemed to be the one who was clinging & pushing so hard for everything to work, whereas Morgan was the one who was repeatedly drawing a line in the sand and marking the deadline on the calendar. What a role reversal!

It’s a HEA for Mike & Morgan, and a happily ever after for the reader, too! Pick up this book for a great read during soccer practice!

Let's get one thing straight, the events that happen in Take Me are highly (strongly urge the highly) unlikely to happen in real life. Which is all right, because it's a work of fiction. However, it takes place in Vegas, and let's be honest no one really no one knows what really goes on there. Anyway, we have the fourth story in Diane Alberts' Take a Chance series. This time we are focusing our attention on Mike Worth.

Well, Mike would be a player, man-whore, or whatever name you would like to give him. Commitment wouldn't be a word associated with his character when it comes to women. However, after one drunken night he finds himself leg-shackled to Morgan Collins.

Morgan has no desire to be married. After all she's married to her dream and no man would understand that. However, she has no clue why she would end up married to Mike. Especially, when they both agree that marriage would be the worst thing in life.

All right, I liked the story, but didn't love it. I didn't really have an issue with Mike, because he's just the way he is. There's not much for a player, but I do hold a soft for them (only in stories and not in really life). Honestly, I was surprise with the change in him; I mean he didn't really fight what he was starting to feel for Morgan. Actually, he really wanted to see where all of it would end. My problem actually laid with Morgan. She really drove me nuts. Here we have Mike willing to take a chance, and that's a huge deal, because he doesn't believe in love. When he puts his heart on the line, Morgan basically crushes his heart. I think would have been easier if she took out his heart (like Indiana Jones Temple of Doom take out heart) and stomp on it. Morgan was so focus on believing she couldn't have it all (the career and loving husband), so better to live with one thing and not the other. So, it took a lot of guts for her a take a chance.

The bottom line is: I liked Take Me, but just didn't win me over to love. However, it was still a good read, but Morgan drove me nuts. So, if you are looking for a quick with a drunken wedding, you might want to checkout Take Me.

4.5 Swoon Worthy stars!

I am in love with Diane Alberts Take a Chance series and Take Me is no exception, fitting perfectly with the prior three books.
Mike Worth is a middle school history teacher who is holding on to his bachelorhood like a lifeline. He gags at just the mention of the dreaded word marriage, but he is incredibly happy for his sisters and their husbands for finding their true love and happiness; it’s just not for him.
Morgan Collins is the female version of Mike. She is a Vegas dancer that has no intention of letting a man hold her back from her dreams. Her mother hung up her ballet shoes at the prime of her dancing career for a man and to start a family; she won’t let that happen to her. She is all for one-night stands and when she hears Mike’s Stoplight theory, she knows that she could get one night out of him without any promises of tomorrow. Mike loves and hates the games Morgan is playing with him. She has the same ideas of marriage in mind, aka, not happening, yet she is fiery and stubborn and wants to hold all of the power. And Mike cannot get enough of her.
Whoops. That’s the Red Zone, so why is all he seeing is Green? Especially after they wake up together with no recollection of the night before and wedding bands on. Mike doesn’t want to give her up, throwing all of his ideals out the window while Morgan can’t seem to escape fast enough, only finding Mike still chasing her and she secretly loves it. Can they make their marriage work without compromising their dreams in life? Or will they break each other’s hearts to continue on their life’s path?
Just like I fell in love with Jeremy & Erica, Thomas & Brianna, and Garrett & Kiersten, Mike & Morgan have captured my heart!! They are both immensely strong characters, constantly butting heads, but can’t seem to help giving in to each other. They both know what they want and don’t want, but they truly find themselves and what they really seek through their short and stubborn time together.

(I received an ARC for my review and this is my honest-to-goodness, straight from the heart review!)

Diane Alberts amazes me. Why? Because she manages to create these stories for Entangled that are hot, sweet and hard to put down.

In TAKE ME, we finally get to meet the woman that manages to knock Mike Worth on his ass. And the mighty have fallen fast and hard.

Mike Worth was determined to love'em and leave'em. But when he meets Morgan, the female version of himself, he suddenly finds all his reasoning for swearing off relationships, love and marriage a load of crap. Now he's determined to prove that he's more than his "stop light" theory and he can be everything Morgan wants and doesn't realize she needs.

I loved how hard and fast Mike fell for Morgan. He absolutely deserved to find a woman who was just like him and brought him down. Without realizing what happened, he fell for the dancer and didn't want to let her go. He faced a very uphill battle, against his own prejudices, coming out of the mouth of the woman he didn't want to be without. You felt bad for him. He may have spewed his nonsense around to his buddies, but he knew immediately that things were different with Morgan. It scared the hell out of him, but he was willing to try a relationship with her. Unfortunately for Mike, Morgan wasn't so willing.

Morgan was adamant she wasn't going to let any many stop her from living out her dream. When she met Mike and overheard his little speech to his friends, she figured he was just like everyone else. But fate stepped in and tied Morgan to Mike. She may not have been happy about that, but she was willing to give him a week to live out their relationship fantasy before moving on. Mike pushed Morgan for more and she continued to run away from anything that seemed like a commitment, but when Mike finally gives Morgan what she wants, she realizes that everything she thought she believed it was a lie when it came to Mike.

I really enjoyed this one and wish it could have been a bit longer, just so I could have more time with Mike and Morgan. They were an absolute pleasure to read and I wanted more of both of them struggling with their quick emotional attachment to the other. That said, this novella was hard to put down and one that I savored as I read through the pages.

Okay, first of all, can we just give a little cover praise, because…damn!! That’s hot!! This was definitely one steamy number, and I think I was at a serious disadvantage having only just now met sexy/cocky Mike since I haven’t read the first books of this series yet! He was so sure of himself, and when red-headed fireball Morgan Collins stomped all over his ego with her “no strings attached” attitude, he was really thrown off his game. Temporarily, of course.

I loved the cat-and-mouse game these two played as they tried to figure out their drunken maritals and whether or not it’d soon be a divorce. This was a very quick read, but it gives you enough meat in the story to make it both fun and distractingly heartwarming. Mike’s turn-around kind of gives you whiplash when it happens so quickly, but I liked both the cocky womanizer Mike and the determined romantic. He wasn’t going to just let Morgan walk away, and they had some intense moments together as they tried to work through both of their doubts.

I really enjoyed this story and I’m definitely planning to check out more in this series because the characters were all likeable and peaked my interest. This is a great short read for anyone looking to squeeze in a quick sweet romance that still has plenty of spice!

Quotes:

She couldn’t resist stealing another look back at him. And what she saw shot little thrills of anticipation shooting up her spine, then back down to twist her stomach into knots. He was looking at her like she’d just declared war on him…and he intended to win. ~ p. 21

They both looked at each other, wide gazes latched. She didn’t move. Didn’t even breathe. As if breathing might make it more real. As if the bands circling their fingers would just fade away if she didn’t move. “Oh, please no.” ~ p. 57

“Heels and an apron, you say?” He rubbed his jaw. “I could definitely work with that, as long as that’s the only thing you’d be wearing in our kitchen. You don’t even have to cook. Just stand there.” ~p. 80

Mike and his buddies were at his soon to be best friend and future brother-in-law’s bachelor party. They were all sitting around, of course teasing each other and talking smack to Mike about how he tries to talk all grooms out of getting married and if he was going to be trying to talk Garrett out of getting married.
Mike said no and that he had explained to Garrett that if he didn’t show or hurt his sister Kiersten in any way he would basically pound him. Yeah, you got it Garrett is marrying Mike’s sister. Then, Mike sent Garrett to get drinks because he needed to talk to the other guys. Because he had to explain his theory of how dating should be in order to not get hooked into marriage. It is on the “STOPLIGHT” effect.
Then this woman sits down beside him and says he stole her booth. They banter back and forth with Mike saying that it was empty and that is the meaning of it not being her booth and them taking it over and her saying her putting a note on her empty glass before going to the restroom. More bantering. Words between them and moves a little and her bra moves just right and he sees sequins and he thinks she has been hired as a stripper and tries to pay her off not to dance. Wrong move because she is not a stripper at all and she is pissed. She tells him off and moves to the bar.
From the booth she eyes him giving dirty looks not knowing he is watching her too. So, when his buddy’s leave she takes a final look and she sees that he catches her looking. Morgan is not happy with this she is pissed that he took her booth, that he thought she was a stripper and that he has a stupid “stoplight” theory. So, when he calls her over with a wave she goes and the game is on. Mike has met his match and Morgan is out for blood.
This is one funny erotic romance. I had read for me the first story awhile with Garrett and Kiersten’s story. So, this is my second and I enjoyed them both. This writer just makes me laugh the way she draws in her readers. She has some crazy characters with crazy antics that make you laugh. The erotic scenes a scorchers.

Meet our happy couple Mike and Morgan: two professionals who know what they want out of life, and the one thing they don’t….marriage. Mike because he’s seen what a bad marriage can do to people and Morgan because her dancing dreams come before any man. Of course, that’s all before you add some fun, cocktails, and Vegas (see above)!

Unfortunately for Mike and Morgan the whole—what’s happens in Vegas stays in Vegas— doesn’t work when you decide to get married. And of course consummating said marriage kills any ideas of an annulment. Oops. So what is this young couple to do?

I will admit that I love these story lines. My favorite part of the now-deceased TV show Bunheads was the fact that Michelle and Hubbell got married on a whim in Vegas. Granted he was totally obsessed with her, but she still stuck around to try and make it work. I think these stories are cute and funny and full of potential.

With that said......I loved Mike and Morgan. First off, Mike is supposed to be the major commitment-phobe who has his own rules of dating that involve a stoplight! So when he's the one that wants to give the marriage a shot I was like...WHAT?? Love that twist! And taking it a step further to Morgan totally wanting to annul right away....WHAT? Talk about a role reversal (and THANK GOODNESS)!

I thoroughly enjoyed both Mike and Morgan. Mike is the ultimate "bro" (I couldn't help but think of Barney from HIMYM) and Morgan is sassy and independent (two things I adore in a female main character). One minute they are oil and water and the next the passion between them is hotter than hell in the summer. Take Me is a fun, sexy read that turns the Britney Spears quickie marriage mistake into a long-term romance.

Top 5 favorite things:

1. Vegas Baby!
2. Stoplight rules of dating
3. Mike being a History Teacher (HOT for Teacher!)
4. "FYI I'm not a stripper. Not all dancers are strippers......."
5. Jazz hands!

Ok, let’s get first things first out of the way, holy hotness on the cover…I wanted to just get my hands on the guy and well…potentially do very naughty things…lol! Yes, I’ll admit, i’m shallow when it comes to covers, the hotter guys on them the better (I refuse to be ashamed of the books I read, and the covers they use). But moving on…I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical since this was book 4 in a series and I hadn’t read the previous books in the series and normally, I am a tad AR about that…but I didn’t really have the time to read them, so I took the chance and for the most part I enjoyed it. i mean, who wouldn’t enjoy a book that starts off with a guy (who is adamantly anti-marriage) insulting a dancer at a bar by calling her a stripper, that turns into a love-fest (for lack of a better word).

Yes, there were a few times where parts of the story related back to previous books in the series, but it wasn’t so much that I felt completely lost and I think the author did a great job developing the relationship between Mike and Morgan. And I personally loved the fact that both of them were career minded and neither of them really wanted to give up what they had as singleton’s in order to fulfil the standard romance trope of happily single, and then all of a sudden married and popping out kids (which kind of irks me). Morgan was kick-ass and sassy and I found her totally relatable in a funky kind of way – the not willing to settle down as society seems to dictate, to march to her own tune.

The smexy-ness in the book was appropriately high and hot ;) Holy man, was it hot in places (I even found myself waving my kindle over my face, because i’m sure I was blushing…lol). All I can say is that I am sure to be reading more by this author in the future. Overall, a solid 4 stars.

Take Me by Diane Alberts
3 ½ stars
Mike Worth doesn’t believe in love and marriage; well at least for himself. He is out with his best friend Garrett’s bachelor party, when he spies a booth in a crowded bar. Morgan is waiting for a blind date when she leaves a note on the table of her booth to say she will be right back; she just has to quickly use the restroom. She comes back to find Mike and his group of friends sitting in the booth. When Morgan returns Mike refuses to give up the booth. The barbs fly and there doesn’t seem to be instant love between these too – imagine if they could look into the future and realize they will be married by the next night!

Mike and Morgan both have deep reasons why they never want to get married. When they were revealed they were solid reasons that I could see dominating someone’s romantic life. I could feel the emotion behind their decision during their discussion of why they each didn’t want to get married. While that part of the plot was written wonderfully, I did not feel the blossom of their love. I kept on waiting for some deep dialog and a deep connection being made, the scene the author wrote to convey this instant realization that this relationship they had was different than all the others they had before was quick and lacking the emotion needed to get the reader to acknowledge something big happened.

This is the fourth book in a series, and in the spirit of full disclosure I have only read the last two books in this series. Mike’s character intrigued me in the previous book, therefore reading Mike’s journey to love seemed a logical choice. Mike still delivered his wise cracks, which are great, but I still did not get the feeling that I knew the true heart of Mike when the book ended.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Mike doesn't do relationships, so when he meets the gorgeous Morgan he wants to get with her. She has something that draws him in, especially the fact that she appears unaffected by his charming ways.

Morgan doesn't have time for a relationship and is not in the lookout for one. She wants to get her career as a dancer on track while she's young. Of course, she wasn't planning on meeting the handsome Mike. With his sexy charm and his determination to pursue her, she is slowly but surely letting her walls down. But when she finds herself second guessing her plans, she decides to do what's best for her, regardless of her feelings for Mike.

I loved this story! It's not often that I enjoy a story based on the 'waking up married after a drunken night' concept. But Diane Alberts outdid herself on this one by portraying each and every one of both Morgan and Mike's emotions as they made their journey from mistake to true love. I enjoyed watching them fight their feelings for each other and their reluctance to give into the other. Their banter was hilarious and their flirtatious dialogue entertaining as well. However, I mostly enjoyed the moments where they let their guard down enough to be honest with each other regardless of past mistakes.

Needless to say that their chemistry was amazing. The first kiss alone was scorching HOT and had me anticipating what was to come. Every touch, look and moan was perfectly placed. And when emotions came into play? The hotness factor of their sex sky-rocketed!

Once again, I enjoyed visiting with the secondary characters. I enjoyed how Brianna gave Mike a hard time and loved seeing Garrett and Kristen finally have their happily ever after.

All in all, a hot little read with emotional undertones, lots of flirting and off the charts HOT chemistry between two complex and interesting characters.
