Are you a careful and well-organized person who plans out baking in advance and starts the stages of the dough the previous day? Do you care deeply about the authenticity and regional purity of traditional cookies? Can you distinguish 30 different types of lebkuchen by the proportion of anise to cardamom to cloves? If so, this may be the cookbook for you!

If, like me, you can't tell the difference between butter cookies that have been made with a wooden versus a metal cookie press and thinks the most important part of the cookie is the chocolate chips, this book is probably wasted on you.
