A Long, Hot Summer

One shared past. One weekend to make things right—and make it last forever.

The TripleHorn Brand, Book 3

Sarah Colby has never quite managed to shake off the emotional scars her ex-husband left behind. Nor has she been able to shed the shame of the one indiscretion that still haunts her memories.

When she asks the Triplehorn Ranch for help to move her cattle to an auction, the man they send has her working double-time to shore up the walls around her heart. He’s older now, harder—and hotter—but he’s the same Tommy Triplehorn she couldn’t resist all those years ago.

Tommy couldn’t be happier that his brothers have settled down, but he’s feeling a little smothered by all the domesticity. At the same time, carousing and drinking no longer appeal—and he thinks he knows why. Sarah Colby.

He’s waited too long for her to get over being ashamed of what they shared. He’s old enough to know what he wants. It’s her, and he’s going to use every second of their time together to dismantle her resistance. Even if he has to call in a little backup.

A cowboy on a mission to prove to the woman he loves that the only number that matters is the number of fantasies he’s willing to fulfill—even if it means sharing her for a night.

Terrific hot romance

I really loved this series and couldn’t pick a favorite of the three. They were all so good, plenty of hot alpha males and their strong women.

Incredibly Hot

Oh my!!! One of the best books I’ve read. Older woman, younger man. You root for them from the beginning. They’re perfect together. Sarahs been hurt, abused, and doesn’t trust men. Tommys been in love with her forever. And, they have a history. Can they really make it work? Another great by Delilah Devlin. You wont be disappointed!

Tommy fell in love with Sarah when he was a teenager, she was married at the time. She's now a widow and he wants to make a life with her. She is older and does not believe it will work.

Great short read. Love the Triplehorn boys.

Older woman younger man is a concept still snickered at way more that the younger woman older man. That is part of the reason Sarah Colby fights her attraction and love for Tommy Triplehorn so hard. The other issue is the guilt she feels over the first time they were together. She shouldn’t have seduced a teenager it didn’t make a difference that he was barely 18 at the time. She was old enough to know better.

Tommy is the last single Triplehorn, and while he is very happy for his brothers he can’t help but wonder when he will get his happily ever after. He has loved one woman for most his life, but her rejection isn’t easy to take. The only way he knows to get over that rejection is between the legs of as many women as he can get his hands on.

Sarah had a horrible relationship with her ex-husband, and the scars of that life are hard to get past. Now she needs help from the Triplehorns, and that will give Tommy the opening he was looking for to convince her that what they have is worth taking a chance on. But can he get past her really hardhead and the walls she has built to protect herself?

I loved this book and series!! Tommy just might be the sexiest of the brothers, because he isn’t going to let anything get in the way of his happiness, not even Sarah herself. These are great quick reads!! Perfect if you like to read a whole book before bed! Hope y’all like them as much as I have!! :)

A Long, Hot Summer is Delilah Devlin's third novella in her Triple Horn Brand Series. Each book can be read as a standalone book but characters from previous books do make an appearance.

In A Long, Hot Summer, the youngest Triplehorn, Tommy, is tired of loving his neighbor Sarah Colby from a far so he makes his move...well his second move. Turns out Sarah and Tommy had a fling eight years ago and neither have quite got over each other. I am usually not a fan of reacquainted lovers but in this story, I didn't mind it all. It actually made the story more interesting and believable since Tommy was twelve years younger then Sarah. The story was great, especially the weekend out of town...that was definitely a hot, hot weekend! Definitely recommend!

Lovely story featuring the youngest bother. Liked that this was an older woman and younger man story. Pissed me off that the epilogue had a miracle pregnancy (she's not able to have children in the story.) Not every romance has to end with a HEA and a baby. It's a pet peeve of mine.

Bought from kobo.
