Inside the ring, Jackson aka Bullet, is a high flyer, the fearless risk taker and takes people down with his signature move Shot to the Heart. Outside the ring, it’s his heart that takes the shot. He has fallen head over heels in love with the perfect woman. She knows all about the wrestling life, the people in it, and what it takes to succeed. She is his best friend, and the one person he is not able to have.

Noelle Reid plays by the rules. She is not the type to invite drama into her life, and when her father has told her from the time she first discovered boys that she is not to date a pro wrestler, she‘s never questioned it. Then Jackson starts getting her heart beating faster, and stealing every thought she had. She finds herself falling for him, the forbidden pro-wrestler, her father’s (the former pro-wrestler himself) student. She can no longer lie to herself when she says that doesn’t love Jackson, because he is perfect for her in every way. The straight laced, daddy’s girl has grown up and is realizing that some rules are going to be broken. Especially when her not so trusting heart, begins to trust Jackson. She never trusted anyone besides her father. And for the first time she starts to question why her father is so against his daughters getting involved with a man in the profession he has loved his whole life. So Noelle has to decide on being the perfect daughter that she has always been, or finally put herself and her life first and allow herself to love Jackson.

What a good book!
I had such an easy time reading this..

I'm very satisfied from this book.. It was romantic, almost fluffy at points, but nevertheless packed with some drama and girly issues..
Very nicely done and great for a first book..

The story starts with the characters being children and that gives us the chance to form in our minds a solid background of who they are..
It's very fitting how they react, cause when we are kids everything seems bigger and we tend to exaggerate about our feelings..

The night they meet is also beautifully demonstrated and i really loved it.. Noelle was a nice character with many good qualities,
I could apprehend her inhibitions about a relationship with Jackson but he was a real man and never backed down from what he wanted.. And when they are together WOW! Those two belong to each other..

All in all what a nice story, laced with funny elements, a sensible perspective towards the world of wrestling, two main characters that didn't let anyone mess with their hearts and a bunch of secondary figures who only helped for it to flourish..

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- I loved their time together!! How romantic...
- I also loved the text messages!! *swoon*
- Mainly Dual POV.. but we get to glimpse at some other characters minds too..
- It's a little frustrating how the POV changes sometimes but only at the beggining.. The problem is fixed later on..
- Her father wanted them together! You can see that right away..
- Her sister is very mature now..
- One of my favorite scenes is the moment Jackson spills the beans without knowing it..*he-he*
- I liked that they spent so much time together, when they had the chance..
- How awful can an ex be?
- I was very content with the ending..
- Noelle puts Kayla in her place with the best possible way!

- Their fathers were such a nich touch..
- Everyone was down to earth!

Noelle grew up with her father warning her on one thing..that he would never want any of his daughters to be with a wrestler. Her dad was a wrestler and Noelle and her sister grew up around them but she always stuck to her fathers rules.

"Never trust a man that will look at another woman while he is in your presence."

This is the piece of advice her mother left her with in a journal before she died its one sentence embedded in her mind.

The book starts off with a glimpse of Noelle as a kid she had lost her mother and her sister was self obsessed and didn't care much about her.She is with her best friend JJ who she also has a crush on and they practically did everything together, joined at the hip but on this day things changed..
JJ does one thing she hates he does what her mother warned her about and he lets her fall.

Now Noelle is all grown up and is soon to be starting her career working with her father at the wrestling gym. So to celebrate she goes out for a drink with her best friend and meets Jackson.

Jackson is finally going to be making it big in wrestling and is all out to celebrate its then that he meets Noelle.

They look at each other and feel connected, like they have known each other for a long time.He doesn't know her name and she doesn't know his career choice. It all seems to be perfect, a little too perfect.
So what happens when Noelle gets to work and spots Jackson there?
Will she break the rules her family set and follow her desires?

Noelle has secrets that could tear everything apart what would happen if her father found out she already broke his rule and she paid severely? And what happens when the past she tried to run from comes back to haunt her?

I enjoyed this book I liked Jackson and Noelle together and didn't want her to keep pushing him away I love how he fought for her and didn't give up.I wanted more to the story though I felt something lacking.

Oh and I used to watch wrestling *hides* haha my brother forced me to watch I swear! And well there were very few wrestlers that were like ooh hot (Rock, John Cena and that's pretty much it I think)I prefer boxers I have no problem creating a hot boxer in my head and that brings me to what happened in the end made me miss Remy from Real and I may have had a re-read :DD

If your are looking for a fighter, romance, drama filled book this one is for you!

First off a HUGE thank you for Kelly & Tyessha for sending me an ARC copy of this book to review <3

We start in the beginning with 14 year old's Jackson and Noelle. The were best friends, practically did everything together, until one day he broke a promise to her.....

He let her fall.

All grown up Noelle is finally gets the dream job she's always wanted, and is finally get her life on the right track for once.

Jackson, FINALLY lands the job of his dreams, he's got loved ones around him. He's a PRO wrestler.

On a whim these two long lost best friends meet again, but under different circumstances, neither recognise the other.

They hit off straight away and we can tell that there is some SERIOUS chemistry between them, its sizzling HOT HOT HOT.

Kelly's got an amazing writing style and the character development is good, not too little of detail and not too much, their loveable and enjoyable to read.

The only thing I would say and it's not that bad is, that sometimes in the book I lost the trail of who's P.O.V I was reading lol, I still thoroughly LOVED the book and can't wait to see what Kelly has up her sleeve in terms of future books :)

Noelle seems to be running from her past, her previous boyfriends, she's broken her ONE rule that will turn her world up-side-down.....She had a relationship with a wrestler.

Jackson, has had his fair share of women, but he doesn't want that anymore, he wants to find the one person he can LOVE, can share everything with....will he find her?

We embark on an adventure into the wrestling ring, mixed emotions, evil BITCHES trying to manipulate situations, causing friends to keep distances between them.

Can two friends be one?

The saying "although you're so close, you're soo far away too " springs to mind in this book!

Can't wait for more!

Rating: Well/House; first time author shares a forbidden romance with a pro-wrestler

Author Kelly Arlia, reached out to The Book Bar to beta-read her first book. The concept of a professional wrestler, finding the love of his life, after losing her when they were teens, is creative.  Throw in a determined, single father that forbids professional wrestlers for his girls; and the sexual tension is palpable.

Perfect Match touches on the wrestling biz but the heart of the story revolves around the relationship between Noelle & Jackson. The addition of life behind the cameras was captivating and secondary characters became instrumental to the story.  Jackson and Noelle's friends keep the characters moving while Noelle's dad creates enough tension to affect everyone.

Jackson is a big 'ol sweetheart; not an oiled-up, Spandex wearing, muscle head. The story reinforces that Jackson is not bulk, but skill, and when Arlia started posting images of potential "Jackson's", I started falling for this character. Need convincing? Check out her Facebook page. Jackson is goal oriented, has been all his life. Jackson's honest feelings for Noelle are sweet and effective.
The night should have ended with my lips doing crazy sexy things to your lips. He smiled and quickly added, Sweet Dreams, J .

My most favorite moment is when Noelle lets her subconscious take over and determine what is right for Noelle. Even though they try to be 'just friends', the third person narrative tells us they are just lying to themselves and each other.
Jackson looked directly into her eyes, and it affected her right to her core. He had something about him that made her want to throw her arms around his neck, and wrap her legs around him, and not let go. She was in deep trouble. Emily Hightower (2013-09-20T05:03:23.925137+00:00). Unknown (Kindle Locations 915-916). Kindle Edition.

“I forgot something,” Jackson said reaching for Noelle. He reached up to touch her face, caressing her cheeks. He stepped into the townhouse and kicked the door shut behind him. Instantly his lips were on hers.
Emily Hightower (2013-09-20T05:03:23.925137+00:00). Unknown (Kindle Locations 1231-1232). Kindle Edition.

I really love stories where the characters give in to temptation but still have struggle. Jackson and Noelle know what's good for them, but they let others dictate their next move. You get a lot of romance out of this book but, at the same time, fear that it's all going to blow up in their face.
“Okay, get up on your knees,” Jackson said as he got up off the bed. Noelle kneeled in the middle of her bed and Jackson stood before her. He explained how he aims his left shoulder for his opponent’s chest and takes him down on contact. “Noelle, I’m not going to hurt you,” he assured her. “Are you ready?” Noelle’s heartbeat quickened even though she knew that Jackson would never hurt her. “I’m ready.” She closed her eyes to a squint. Instead of him flying towards her, he moved rather slowly. His shoulder made contact with her chest and he wrapped his arms around her and gently pushed her back on the bed. He fell on top of her and his lips met her neck. He started kissing her while his hands moved up her chest. “Mmm,” she purred, “I better not see you do this to anyone in that ring.”

Congratulations Kelly! You have a great sense of description and I can't wait to see what's next for you!

I was among the lucky few that received an ARC copy of Perfect Match. I was very excited to read about something different. There are so many books out there with UFC type fighters. Perfect Match is a nice change of pace with wrestling. I loved Kelly's writing style and she made me fall in love with Jackson instantly. He was definitely put close to the top on my ever growing book boyfriend list. Great read. You don't want to miss out on this one, add it to your TBR list!!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this debut novel, which was already on my TBR!
This is a story of forbidden love…
Noelle and Jackson were friends as kids because their dads were best buds and professional wrestlers.
At the tender age of fourteen, the connection between Jackson and Noelle is evident but neither of them understands it.
They grow up and lose contact as they both find their place in the world.
One night in a club…..their paths cross again but neither recognises the other!
The connection between them is instant and their chemistry sets you on fire.
Noelle now a fully qualified physical therapist as landed her dream job at BRAWL, a professional wrestling federation….
Jackson is a professional wrestler AKA Bullet who is just about to hit it big on BRAWL!
Noelle grew up with one rule….never date a wrestler!
She broke this rule once which ended extremely badly….now she is healing from the ordeal she vows never to break it again and to stay away from all professional wrestlers….
Unfortunately for Noelle, Jackson is 100% swoon worthy and had to resist especially when he believes you are the one for him.
This book sucks you in to the inside world of professional wrestlers and does not disappoint…there’s bitching, back stabbing, manipulation, loyalty, love and HOT HOT HOT SEX!!!!!!
Can Jackson break Noelle’s walls of steel and claim her has his???
Can Noelle let Jackson in???
I don’t want to give anything away but this book is a must read.
I wasn’t able to put the book down once id started; the characters gripped me and kept me wanting more of their story.
Fabulous debut novel…I looking forward to more books from Kelly…..

The minute I started reading this I couldn’t put it down.

At 14 years old Noelle and JJ were friends through growing up together with their dads being wrestling buddy’s, they were close until he broke his promise to her, HE LET HER FALL!!!

Many years later there paths cross again only this time he is the guy that she’s meant to say no to and she is the daddy’s girl that is off limits.

Jackson (JJ, Bullet) is a professional wrestler who you are guaranteed to fall in love with (I did) perfect book boyfriend material.
Noelle is the daddy’s girls with big dreams and a book from her late mother telling her what not to do when it comes to men, however the chemistry she has with JJ is undeniable, can she fight it or will true love conquer all.

This book has it all,, Forbidden love, lies and amazing friendship, this book was beautifully written with great character building from the start, it is definitely a must read. (Review by Katie)

Perfect Match by Kelly Arlia was an excellent debut novel about a professional wrestler and a daddy's girl.

Noelle and Jackson were friends as kids, both with big dreams. When the two of them cross paths as adults, they don't even recognize each other though their chemistry is undeniable! Of course once discovered who she is, Noelle is completely off limits to the professional wrestler, Bullet, aka JJ, aka Jackson.

In and out of the ring, Jackson is hot! A nice change from the usual MMA fighter, this wrestler can pin be down any day! You are guaranteed to fall in love with him too!

This book had it all and without giving anything away I strongly suggest that you add it to your "to read" list immediately! Sometimes a forbidden love is just your perfect match!

Adorable love story about an up and coming pro wrestler and a gorgeous physical therapist that has grown-up around wrestlers and has sworn never to date one ...

Jackson, "Bullet" was Noelle's first childhood crush until he broke her heart. One chance meeting later and a new job has them heating up the mat... Will she go against her one rule ... never get involved with a wrestler. You will have to read the book to find out.

This was a cute love story ... it had it all, boy breaks girls heart, boy falls for girl, all the odds are against them ... will they make it in the end?

Thought it was a cute story! Noelle and Jackson grew up as childhood friends because their fathers were pro-wrestling buddies until one day when the kids were teenagers and J.J. broke Noelle's trust. She hadn't talked to him since, until she starts a new job at her dad's wrestling gym and Noelle's life will never be the same. Jackson's the hot up-and-coming American Champion and Noelle is the boss's hands-off daughter. Noelle learns to trust the man who broke it in the first place, break Pop's "don't date a wrestler" rule and learn what love really is.

I really enjoyed this story, but I would have LOVED it, had it been written in first person. I had a hard time connecting with the characters, as the emotions weren't as deep. However, the story line itself was wonderful. The attraction Noelle and Jackson have for each other is hot, then when they fall in love, it is even sweeter. The story has just enough drama to pull you, and is finished up nicely. Perfect Match is a great stand alone, but we all could use a little more Noelle and Jackson, maybe their own POV this time?

Perfect Match introduces us to Noelle and her best friend Jackson (JJ). At the start they are merely 14 years old. They have been friends forever and they do almost everything together.

Noelle trusts JJ; until one day he lets her fall! The reason is they are playing together but Noelle's older sister walks by and JJ looks away from Noelle and he fails to catch her. Noelle screams at JJ that she hates him. Then she goes with her dad to get cleaned up.

Then we catch up with Noelle and Jackson when they are all grown up.

As adults both Noelle and Jackson seem to be where they want to be. Noelle has just landed the job she wants working with he dad. Jackson has made it as a pro wrestler (like his father). Noelle however has done one thing in her life that now threatens to resurface and has the potential to cause some serious trouble for her. Jackson on the other hand is determined to break the one rule that all the wrestlers at the school have been told. Will breaking the rule pay off or backfire on him?

I have loved reading this book, every page had me itching to find out more!!

Noelle grew up following two main rules. One from her mother: "Never trust a man who will look at another woman while he is in your presence". The second from her father: "No dating wrestlers". Her mother's rule is the reason she hasn't seen Jackson for so long, and is one rule Noelle has never broken. Her father's rule she has broken once and is hoping that her father will never find out.

Jackson bumps into a woman in a bar and nicknames her "Scout", they get on great and there is some serious chemistry between them, that said Jackson decides that he'd rather get to know Scout than have her as another one off encounter. As a pro wrestler at Noelle's dad's school Jackson knows the rule he instill's in all the wrestlers that none of them are to go near his daughter's. So you can imagine Jackson's surprise when "Scout" walks in to begin working there, and she is introduced as Noelle!!!

I loved these characters, they are realistic and believable. They are both very likable as are majority of the characters. There are a few characters that are a little less likable, but only because they are portrayed as the baddies in the story. Even the baddies are good; well written and realistic and they definitely bring some spice to the story!!

Kelly's writing style is fab; it's informative and emotional. There are plenty of details to keep the reader engaged and interested. I think this is a great debut novel and I'm excited to see what Kelly has in store in her next novel.

I'm really pleased to have been given a chance to read this fab author's work! I'm definitely looking forward to my next encounter with Kelly's work.

Overall this is a fab love story. It's full of romance, emotion and turmoil. A great read for all you romance lovers out there!!

Kelly Arlia’s “Perfect Match” is a must-read for anyone with a wrestling fan in their life. Go behind the scenes of a popular wrestling show to meet Noelle and Jackson. Noelle is a sweet and lovable gal who’s been burned before. Jackson is a trustworthy, hardworking leading man with a heart of gold and a knockout body! You can’t put this one down. You find yourself reading on to see if Noelle and Jackson will have a happily ever after despite Noelle’s Pop’s strict dating rule for his daughters: no wrestlers allowed! Kelly Arlia pins every aspect of this love story! The cast of characters could have come straight off the television (I’m thinking of Jackson as John Cena!). For anyone who’s been hurt before, this is an emotional tale that’s very true to life. And – the sexy parts are so steamy; you’ll want to tap out! I can’t wait to get my hands on another Kelly Arlia novel.

I was somehow lucky enough to read an ARC copy of The Perfect Match! And this was a great debut novel from Kelly Arlia! From the start, you get a feel for who Jackson and Noelle are and I instantly connected with the both of them.

When their paths cross again, you can feel the heat between the two, but as always, life gets in the way. The first thing I said to Kelly after reading it was ‘AWWWW!!! JACKSON!’ haha I loved him and he had quite a few swoon worthy moments that roped me in.

I don’t want to give too much away *because I hate spoilers lol* but you should add this book to your TBR pile and then READ it and fall in love with Jackson and Noelle’s story.

Amazing story for a wonderfully talented debut author!!

The story line of this book is awesome. It definitely flows well from one thing to the next, with evil exes and twist and turns along the way. I have to say the thing I liked most about this book, was Jackson. He is not your typical book bad boy. He has a huge heart, and knows what he wants, and actually wants to settle down. While Noelle was fighting her feelings, Jackson was trying to figure out a way for everything to work. I truly enjoyed everything about his character.

Perfect Match completely stole my heart. Kelly Arlia did such a beautiful job blending passion, loyalty, and heartbreak into a story that feels so real. Jackson, or Bullet, isn’t just a tough wrestler he’s a man with a soft, genuine heart who falls for the one woman he can’t have. And Noelle, torn between love and loyalty to her father, is such a relatable character. You can truly feel her struggle as she tries to balance being the perfect daughter while her heart tells her otherwise.
What really stood out to me was the emotional depth it’s not just about forbidden love, but about trust, courage, and breaking free from expectations. The chemistry between Jackson and Noelle is undeniable, and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way.
This story made me smile, ache, and hope all at once. Perfect Match is heartfelt, romantic, and deeply human a reminder that sometimes, love really is worth breaking the rules for.

There's that moment when you start reading that you know a book will take you on that love journey that will break your heart and make it swell with love for the characters.
Kelly captured the true meaning of Happily Ever After with her story about Jackson and Noelle. I love that the backdrop was Wrestling which, I have yet to read a love story with a wrestling theme. This was a great surprise for me! The wrestling was not overpowering-taking over the story-it was the characters; how a love story should be.

I fell for Jackson right a way and Noelle was someone most girls can relate to.

This story takes you on their love journey from childhood to adult and how life can always create challenges for couples.

I think Kelly has a great future as a writer and I can't wait to see what she has in store next!
I'll miss Jackson & Noelle! Maybe write them in somewhere on your next book :)
