Coping with the traumatic experiences Ava endured with the Kakos is more challenging than she ever imagined it to be. She finds herself struggling to remember the details of her time kept away with Damien Kakos and when the memories assault her mind, she is plagued with crippling fear. There is something in the back of Ava’s thoughts screaming at her, telling her that the fight with the devil’s brood has not yet ended.

Newly married, Ava and Ari deal with issues involving trust, honesty and faith in one another and as they plot their course for a new life together, they discover that their individual wants and needs don’t exactly match. Ari’s promises to Ava begin to break. Some of the Alexander’s family secrets are revealed and Ava realizes that she needs to keep her friends close, and her enemies even closer.

A Broken Fate, the second novel in The Beautiful Fate Series, dives further into Ava and Ari’s nail-bitter of a story and adds even more suspense, mystery, romance and thrills. This series is impossible for any reader to resist.

Everyone around her is going crazy first Margaux then Aggie! Then she puts it all together! I won't tell you how or who but OMG it was awesome!
This author is AMAZING! I finished the book in 4hrs! I could not put it down I was making dinner holding my iPad, doing dishes while reading it! It was amazing!

After being offered a copy of the first book in this series for free in exchange for an honest review, I thought the least I could do to support the author after the amazing journey it took me on was to purchase the second! That and I couldn't hold back my curiosity after the cliffhanger at the end of the first novel!

This novel started out quite slowly - I got to around page 151 (out of the 360 on my iPad) and put it down in frustration that Ava was being stubborn, annoying, and after chapters and chapters of the same old, quite frankly she was getting boring. Problem was - I was hooked and within half an hour, had the screen pressed up against my nose once again as I devoured the rest of the book before I went to sleep (felt it was necessary to chuck an Ava and Ari and sit up reading late).

She got to me in this book though. I really felt for Ava in book one and then after her stubbornness towards actually bettering a situation for herself, I found I wanted to scream at her in frustration and anger. As she opened up and the plot line progressed, I found I wanted to keep screaming at her for her stupidity for not seeing what was right in front of her. All in all- I think I wanted to scream at her most because her stubborn streak reminded me of myself and that scared me :s

The ending. I knew what was coming... But ahhhh!!!! To all of it!!! I'm so happy things ended the way they did with Margoux and Aggie and I just wanted to scoop Max up and kiss him! Was relieved to find this one didn't finish on so much of a cliffhanger but am interested to see where Mann will take Ava, Ari and the gang in the next novel!

Keep writing Mann - you have a gift and I'm hanging for more!

“You aren’t safe. You aren’t done. Be careful who you trust, Ava.”

"A Broken Fate" begins where "A Beautiful Fate" ended. I have to say that even if the book series ended here that I'd actually be okay. But, according to Cat, there's one more to go!!

The good:
- Very solid continuation of the "Beautiful Fate" trilogy. Very intriguing, calculating, and intense.
- I really enjoyed the trials that both Ari and Ava go through. It tests them individually and together as a team/couple.
-Ari steps it up! Finally! *Does a happy dance* Ari really puts it on the line this time. He is no longer just a side main character who doesn't do much. There are some points in the book where he is especially challenged and I loved Cat Mann for doing this as it finally made me fall in love with him. It's not that I didn't like him, I did. But honestly, I was never impressed with him until now so I'm glad that's changed. ;)

The bad:
- Nothing story/plot wise and character wise.
- The only tidbit I raise if that if Ms. Mann ever ended the story at book two it wouldn't be a totally bad thing. Don't get me wrong guys, I love the series and definitely want a book three as promise but the way that book two ended was just PERFECT.

SO, OVER ALL:
Readers, be ready to be on the edge of your seats while reading this! You're in a for a treat!

Tensions are raised, stakes and emotions are high; new secrets are revealed; and you can't trust anyone. Will Ava be ready for the final battle ahead? Will her and Ari's love prove to be unbreakable? Read and find out in "A Broken Fate"!

*Some quotes I loved:
“We met at school and I fell completely in love with you.
You were my whole world from the moment I first laid eyes on you.”

“I love you. You hold my heart in
here. Be careful with it; I can’t live without it.”

I figured to give the 2nd installment a chance after being so repulsed by so many elements of the 1st. I never should have wasted my time. Plot development is glacial because there is no real plot or literary tension developed. I finished this book and started the third because it was on hand. After the first chapter I closed the books and removed them from our library. I like the concept of the spirit of an eternal fate alive in a modern world. That is all there is to like. My recommendation to perspective readers is to avoid this series. Once again we have an author with a good idea that might have been developed in one completed book milking the cow dry by stretching it to four volumes of thin and uninteresting prose.

I enjoyed this sequel, but I was annoyed that Ava continuously refused help & refused to confide in anyone. I wish they would include some more to do with the actual Fates.

A Broken Fate picks up right where A Beautiful Fate left me-sucking in a breath with my eyes wide in surprise.

Everything from the first book is back, and better than ever.

Mrs. Mann’s characters are lively and vibrant. A group I wouldn’t mind spending a day with. Although, I did find myself rolling my eyes at Ava more than once.

Once again, she is a tad off her rocker. She is a whole lotta paranoid, but given the circumstances, she has a right to it. Except for the way she treats Aggie.

Aggie is such a sweetheart (for the most part), and I love her character (anyone who loves Pinterest is a friend of mine). Ava completely disrespects her in every sense of the word. She is ungrateful of the fact that Ari’s family took her in and accepted her as is. She is thankful to be out of his parents’ house. Honey, they took you in when you needed them the most. Show a little gratitude please, dear. But, I let her off the hook because she is being hunted and I’m sure that can’t be easy on the nerves. She is still pretty kick ass, too. However, I feel that she is too self-reliant on Ari.

Ari. Swear to God, this man melts my heart. Ari is protective and gentle. He is such a darling and oh so sexy. Now that he and Ava are married, they are taking things much faster. He is still a gentleman, but he is definitely a little feistier. There is a certain part in this book where he says to Ava, “Let me hear it”, and those 4 words strung together are the sexiest things I’ve ever read in any book.

Max is the perfect addition to their already sweet little family. He broke my heart and I loved his part in the mythological element of this book.

“Oh, my God!” I said for the second time that morning.
Rory put his hand up to stop me.
“Please, Ava, don’t remind me,” he laughed.
^that is why I fucking love Rory. I’m not sure anything more needs to be said.

Julia, August. They’re back and sassy as ever. The perfect interlude when things get too crazy.

"I can't wait to be your grandma, Ava." -Margaux. This had me choking up and love that this will be a big part of the next book!

The twists in this book floored me and I can honestly say that I did not see most of it coming. I love that this one ended on a lighter note and didn’t cause me trauma, unlike A Beautiful Fate.

I cried, I laughed, I cringed through every one of Ava’s flashbacks. It took me longer to get through this one because I have been on a Supernatural binge for the last month, but once I snuggled up to it, I blocked out everything else. I love the way this story flows so easily, and I can’t wait to see how things turn out for the Alexanders.

~This book review first appeared at Cuzinlogic and you can find it Here.~

A Broken Fate is the second book of The Beautiful Fate series and it starts right were A Beautiful Fate left off. I was so nervous for how it would all play out for Ava after her disastrous kidnapping. It sure wasn’t pretty and it definitely was something crazy what he did to her.

But all is well, sort of. Ava survives Kakos brother no. 6, but her time with him leaves her quite damaged physically and mentally. Nightmares, body pains and paranoia take over Ava after she wakes up in the hospital with most of her memories from the past days blocked. Ava isn’t the same anymore, and I must admit that I missed her old self that we met in A Beautiful Fate. She was fierce and unstoppable back then, but now due to her kidnapping, she’s all insecure and wishing for a way out, because she’s still not safe. Not even from the people she loves.

The Alexander family is very supportive towards Ava at the beginning, trying to take care of her, to help her get through the terrible ordeals she suffered at the hands of the Kakos brothers. And like any other family, tensions may arise and here is where everything gets more interesting. On the other hand, Ari was super sweet and patient with Ava; he could read her really well and know instantly how to ease her pains. It’s the first time I read a book where I don’t get the usual boy/girl drama, “does he like me or does he not” and it was a nice change to know they were sure about themselves as a couple.

I liked that this book doesn’t strive for the heroine to be always perfect and strong, instead it shows how damaged they can get after the fight for their lives and how deep their wounds truly go. This time A Broken Fate leaves me happy with its ending. It’s not a cliffy, thank goodness, yet it does leave you wondering for what’s next to come. I bet A Forsaken Fate will be full of surprises!

*Please note that I received a complimentary copy of A Broken Fate from the author in exchange for my honest review. I assure all opinions shared are 100% my own.*

Cat Mann is a wonderful author - both this book and the first in the series were whirlwinds of emotion for me - I was all over the place and loved every second of it all. I read the first book for a blog tour a while ago and read it all in one night. I almost immediately bought the second book in the series with all intention of reading it immediately - then life happened and then more TBR books happened and it fell off the radar for a bit - THEN the author contacted me about Book 3...

So, with so much enthusiasm I picked up my iPad and stated reading A Broken Fate. I read about a third of it in one evening and then put it down for a while due to crazy work schedules (and cleaning my house etc). I was so happy to get back to it with a Read-a-thon and cannot wait for book 3.

In this installment, Ava has been dealing with her abduction, the fear, the memories coming back, the injuries - but also keeping a lot of pain and emotion and secrets from her family. She has to find a way to adjust and allow those around her to help her. This aspect of the story was understandable but so frustrating at times. Ava had been through a lot and needed more help but wouldn't allow anyone to help her - I understand that, but arg frustrating.

The we get to the good stuff, a journal and a code and possible suspects of another Kakos... the story gets amped up and there were so many instances that I was cringing and gasping and thinking I had figured it out (sometimes I was right, other times - not so much). It was a wonderful roller coaster of a book and I LOVED it.

This is a New Adult book, so there was sex and there was a lot of violence recapped in this book from the last - so it is not intended for a younger audience.

I'm really loving this series! It's got a unique, intriguing premise, well-developed characters, and lots of chemistry between Ava and Ari. I thought A Beautiful Fate was a great read, but A Broken Fate was even better.

It took me a little bit of time to adjust to Mann's writing style in book one, A Beautiful Fate. She tends to mix past and present tense and I found that a little awkward. Happily, this was not an issue with A Broken Fate. I anticipated the style of the prose, and I think the writing flowed better.

I loved that I got to read these two books pretty much back-to-back. I love it when I'm able to do that with series novels, because I don't forget anything from book to book. There's no catching up or reorientation needed when I remember exactly what happened in the previous installment.

The plot in A Broken Fate was just as exciting and fast-paced as the plot in book one. I love that Mann is not afraid to take risks with the direction of her story and that her books always contain well-timed surprises.

While I love both main characters: Ava and Ari, the supporting characters are so well-developed that I found myself just as invested in their happiness. There is a big emphasis on family relationships (healthy ones, at that) in this series and that is so refreshing to read about in YA literature.

I'm so happy I found this series, and would recommend it to fans of YA, paranormal fiction (although the paranormal element is mild and unique) and also fans of contemporary fiction. I'm really looking forward to book three!

OMG i've just finished reading that book and i am so overwhelmed of all those feelings it has created me...
https://dx5y3z85enc4t.cloudfront.net/...
Where can i possibly start..
well i'll start with Ari, please someone tell me where can i find a guy like him?? He is amazing or to be specific he has given new dimension in the word amazing. He was there for Ava and even when she was self destructive, he never gave up on her and he always tried to make her feel better even though he was in so much pain of her condition because he felt responsible for her kidnapping and he couldn't bare to see his other half in so much pain. Honeslty i am in love with him :D
Ava, well, she is in so much pain after her kidnapping all the cruelty she had suffer bend her and make her drown in her own self pity but the worst part was the fear of someone hurt Ari because of her or someone she cares about, because one thing was crystal clear for her they can do whatever they like to her but she won't ever let anyone to hurt her loved ones, especially Ari even if it means she has to die trying.
Insecurities, pain, depression, old enemies and new ones, responsibilities, truth, lies, trust, love
That book will mesmerize you and also it will give you answers and it will takes you to the depths of Ari's nd Ava's love who has to overthrow many obstacles and mainly the pain Ava suffered. Will they succeeded? Well, i won't tell you read it and find out ;)
Definitely a must read ;)

Beneath the Moon and Stars review

I wasn't sure what yo expect from this story. It was a great sequel. I didn't love it as much as the first book but it was still very impressive.

This continues Ava's story. She is trying to cope with what happened to her. As her and Ari get used to married life, they deal with some trust issues.

I had some mixed feelings with Ava. For about the first half she was incredibly annoying. I liked that she tried to be strong and not hurt others with what happened to her. But it tried on my patience just a little. Once she let things out, her character became so much better. Ari was as fabulous as ever. I really don't know how he put up with Ava at times. He's the best! I loved getting to see his family again. They make great secondary characters.

At times this story almost felt like a contemporary. The story took some time to get going. It was a little on and off. I didn't see the main twist coming but I predicted some of the others. I have to say it! There was an awful lot of sexy times. It was a little much at times. I love cuteness and this story was adorable. But those sexy times made it not so YA. Overall this was a pretty great sequel. I'm super excited for the next book!

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second novel in the Beautiful Fate series by Cat Mann that I have been lucky enough to read and review. A Broken Fate starts right where book one, A Beautiful Fate, ended. I’m still loving the mythology aspect of the story and how it’s not the “standard” Greek mythology characters. I didn’t like this book as much as book one because I didn’t feel that there was as much action but it was still an awesome read.
I loved the little spats that Ava and Avi had, although sometimes they seemed a bit silly. This might sound bad, but I enjoyed watching Ava struggle with what had happened to her, but I was glad when she was coming to terms with everything. I can’t wait to watch Max and “others” grow up. I did find that I had known who the “bad guy” was and it didn’t shock me.
I can’t wait to read more books by this talented author. I would absolutely recommend this novel to mythology lovers.

OMG I cried! what an ending... even if the story were to end right there and a third book wasn't in the works - I honestly would be just fine with that! edge of my seat, most definitely, emotions running rampid... you can count on it, family feuds and drama - you bet... and that last chapter... is not something to miss!

I liked this book as much as the first one but there are definitely things I wish had been different. Less crying and less sleeping for instance. Those two things took up a lot of time in book one and it continued in book two. I know they play their part in the story but I think they would have been perhaps more powerful and interesting if they'd been less frequent.

I read this one super quickly. Even though not much was happening, I couldn't put it down. I loved the relationship between Ari and Ava even more in this one and loved reading more about all of the characters. Some stuff was pretty predictable, though. The ending was perfect, but I still want more!

I thought this book was so good that after reading just one book of hers, I'm hooked on this author. Her ideas are so unique and she really has the suspense thing down to a fine art.
Her characters take on a life and personality of their own.
Highly recommended by me.

Loved it...

....as much as the first! Can't wait to read the third. Ava is dealing with the aftermath of her kidnapping and while the author puts in some plot twists, if you are able to figure out where it is going you will see the ending... and I love the ending.
