An amazing woman and an amazing career that saw Dorothy working up to her 90th year before a stroke ended her run on television. One of the first female news analysts at the infancy of the field, Fuldheim helped bring world events to Cleveland's backyard for generations of Clevelanders.

This is a straight forward biography, the author, who is not a pro at the craft falls short in making amateur mistakes such as guessing or putting ideas into the young Dorothy's mind. While later in life she was the well read newshound, this author takes many stabs of what was world events of Dorothy's youth and makes bold statements on what she guesses Fuldheim ideas would be. Also, towards the end of the book there is a chapter based on television news in the 1990s after Dorothy's death and where her role might have been. Odd choice for a biography and really felt out of place.

Otherwise, well researched, and an engaging take on the grand dame of Cleveland news.

I was fortunate to grow up in Cleveland and to watch Dorothy Fuldheim on television regularly. She was a great influence on me as a young person.

I actually didn't read this whole book - I just read about Dorothy's early life, till she was about the same age that I am now.
