A modern ranch romance featuring Adam Trahern and Joanna Davies. This sweet romance stayed on the Amazon top 100 list for over 2 months. Childhood friends, split apart by a tragic accident, they must try to heal their families. A little of the Romeo and Juliet touch, since his younger brother and her shy younger sister want them to get engaged, so that the feuding families will accept the younger kid's engagement and marriage.
Other than the families going to church and a sermon mentioned at the end, this wasn't a heavily Christian story. The girl was saving herself for marriage, but the couple did get pretty handsy and they made out often. Aside from that there was a great story to tell, mainly about forgiveness.
Whilst the title and cover indicates horses, other than the male and female lead often being on their favourite horses, they don't really feature heavily. I really enjoyed the characters and admired their morals and attendance at church but felt it didn't really explore the reason behind those convictions. Adam's character appeared a little demanding at the start which seemed to contradict with Jo's sense of him never pushing/hurting her later in the story. Otherwise an enjoyable romance and read.
