In Bed with her Boss by Ms. Brenda Jackson: I really enjoyed this story. Ms. Jackson has a way of giving background on her characters without drowning out the storyline. By the time I ended the story I felt as if I knew Opal and D'marcus personally. I couldn't put it down.
Rich man's fake fiancee by Catherine Mann: this one was disappointing. I think that is because I connected to the characters in Ms. Jackson's story and was left feeling like an outsider with Ms. Mann's. The background into each character was scarce. There really was no connection and the way the two "lovebirds" fell in love left me wondering where was the build up? This one I would rate 3 stars.
This book was missing something. Can’t put my finger on it. The ending was not fulfilling and I can tell this is one of the writer’s earlier books because some of the information regarding the locations used were not facts. Especially Detroit. If you’re going to use a locale you need to use landmarks and the lingo they use. Me being a Detroit native was really turned off that this was the main location used, but the book did no justice for it. The only thing this book does is leave you hanging in the end.
I enjoyed reading this first book of the series, "Three Weddings and a Reunion". I have read books two and three of the series. Anticipating the fourth book. This book was very good and written in the manner that I have become accustomed with one of my favorite authors.
I bought the 2 in 1 book because I could not find the single e-book anywhere. Actually I had no intention of reading the other book.
While Bgg tends Jackson is a truly gifted storyteller, I have to assume that this book is one of her early works. With that thought in mind, I am still going to issue a HARD PASS recommendation.👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥
I liked both books. This was a great read. I have enjoyed all of the books I've read by Brenda Jackson .I also enjoyed the bonus book and plan to read more by that author. Also, I always love HEA endings which both books delivered.
Both stories were captivating. I always enjoy Ms Jackson's stories and this one was just as good. Ms Mann is a new author to me and I had fun following the senator to be and his lady
The story of Opal and D'Marcus was great reading I highly recommend this book. There is a bonus story about Ashley and Matthew really great story also.
Interesting! Opal knew it was a bad idea to get involved with her boss. D'marcus was moody, cranky and had way too many secrets. After his fiancee died, he refused to ever have another serious relationship again. Can Opal convince him to give love another chance?
