This is one of the first books I remember reading about space and I learned a lot from it at the time. I saw it in a scholastic catalog that we received regularly in elementary school and remember being excited about ordering it.
I still skim through it from time to time and am reminded of how much we've learned since 1984. For instance, the voyager probe hadn't yet passed by Uranus or Neptune and so the book didn't have the images of them that we have now. Also, the possibility of there being planets around other stars was discussed but there wasn't yet all the evidence for them that we have now.
