i am not a do-it-yourself-er, so some of the content didn't relate to me, but the book did present a helpful overview for some remodeling decisions I need to make. It did feel a bit dated(2014) in the section on kitchen remodeling, as I could not find information about quartz countertops.

A realistic view of what kind of return on investment you can expect from certain home improvements. It's easy for homeowners to make irrational decisions when it comes to changing or adding features to their property. This is a good reality check on that irrationality.

More of a study than a read. Glimpsed through this. Some useful information nonetheless.

Chock full of valuable advice. I found it reassuring to read that it makes sense to upgrade systems first before tackling cosmetic changes. And who doesn't need a little nudge when you are about to dive into a basement remodel that starts with a new furnace and AC unit? Love the tips for working with contractors and recommendations regarding upgrades to kitchens and baths.

A few new things but most experienced renovators and design readers will know most of this. His voice and opinions are true to the TV show. For fans.
