Evangeline's world has come to an immediate stop and the only place she has to run is Venice. Not knowing that this journey will take her straight into the arms of Matt Wheeler and his delicious mind blowing kisses.

But not all get-away romances are perfect. Matt and Eva's relationship goes from taking each day one step at a time to shattered in a instant when Eva announces she is pregnant.

This mind sound like one of those romances where the hero will first be angry and then suddenly announce that marriage is the only way as the child will have his name, and of course this leaves the heroine with the no choice in the matter maybe he will learn to love me eventually so let's go with it for now situation.

But this is a Kat Cantrell book and if there is one thing I have learned from her books is that the unexpected is always to be expected, just when you think you know what is going to happen she changes is around to take you on a whole new journey.

A very quick and easy romantic afternoon read but with a extreme dosage of intense, heart-stopping emotion so strong and vivid it brought me to tears.

I absolutely adored that the author used the pain and loss of both main character's most treasured link to reality elements to help bring them together. I was blown away by the ending, not that this author has ever not written a super sweet ending but this time around the ending truly felt like it came from the very depths of the author's soul. Amazing job Kat!

I am taking away the message that even when you feel like you have lost the one thing that meant the world to you, if you look around you will find that just around the corner an even greater treasure is lying in wait for the taking!

I highly recommend this read to all fans of heartfelt romance written by one of today's best romance authors in the world. Sensual, passionate, so very romantic and truly in depth!

This was a nice, easy read with just the right amount of angst. I enjoyed this book for the second time this afternoon and I highly recommend it.

This story is about two lost souls, Matthew and Evangeline, who happen to meet one magical evening in Venice. Their plan was to spend one night together but it turned into something more, much more. When Evangeline tells Matt that she is pregnant with his baby, Matt does not handle it well and crushes her newly healed heart and soul. Evangeline cannot allow herself to stay with a man who has to have everything his way and on top of that he is unwilling to let go of his dead wife, refusing to love again.

It is well worth your time and I certainly enjoyed the read.

Very good book. I loved the slow growth of their relationship as they got to know each other and the emotional development as they help each other heal. Both Evangeline and Matt are in Venice to escape. Evangeline was a famous singer until a botched operation on her vocal cords ruined her voice. Now she feels like she has lost sight of who she is. She has been wandering around Europe visiting friends as she tries to figure out what to do with her future. We met Matt in Marriage With Benefits as he is still reeling from the death of his wife. He turns the family business over to his brother and takes off for Venice to try to forget his pain until he's able to go back to his old life. When they meet at a Carnevale party there is an instant connection between them. Each recognizes the pain that the other is in and they agree to a one day at a time relationship. I loved the way that their empathy with each other leads to their own healing. Matt can see Evangeline's devastation at the loss of such an integral part of who she is. Because of her fame there is a lot of media attention. I loved the way that Matt was so protective of her when they were confronted by the two photographers. Being with her starts healing his pain and he realizes that she makes him happy. But he can't see her fitting into his life in Dallas because she is so different than his late wife. It ticked me off that he was judgmental that way - he came off as a bit of a snob there. Evangeline doesn't want any kind of permanent relationship. She was hurt by the treatment she received from her ex-fiance and has lost all belief in romantic love. She's quite content to have a physical relationship with Matt that will last until they tire of it. It doesn't take long for that simple attraction to start to change. His care for her is something she has never experienced before. He helps her see new possibilities in her future without pushing her. Just having him being there for her when she attempted an interview gave her confidence. I loved seeing the way that she was able to face playing the piano by having Matt sitting with her as she did it. I could feel her relief and happiness as her playing and writing came back to her. The unexpected pregnancy throws them both into a tailspin. Evangeline is afraid of being tied down and all Matt can think of is taking her to Dallas and making her part of his old life. Each of them has to take a hard look at what they really want and what they need to do to get it. I loved the ending as both of them realize what is most important. The final scene in the kitchen is so sweet as they both get what they want.

Evangeline has lost her singing voice, something that was intrinsic to her being, it was how she defined herself and it was how she escaped. Matthew lost himself and his purpose when his wife died. Both have lost their purpose and when they find each other at a party in Venice, they feel connected. Maybe what they recognize in each other is their inner turmoil. Maybe it is good old fashioned lost. Regardless, these two connect in a physical and emotional level. They enter into a no strings attached, let’s see what each day brings and heal each other relationship. What results is a beautiful story of healing and romance.

I am hard pressed to find something that I didn’t like in this story. It doesn’t go into insta-love (thank you thank you thank you). Instead, it starts off with a deep, near-primal attraction. Throughout the story, the characters grow, share and connect even deeper. Their lives become linked without them even realizing or even wanting.

I am impressed with the beautiful story Kat Cantrell has created. For what is supposed to be an easy afternoon romance read, it ran quite deep. There was good character development and veritable growth. The writing was easy and well done. Not too badly edited and there aren’t any glaring grammatical errors (the ones that make one want to grab a red pen). I definitely recommend this book. Of all the recent romance books I have read, this is one of the best this year.

Pregnant by Morning is a story about two lost souls coming together in Venice one day. Having trouble pasts and secrets, Matthew Wheeler and Evangeline forget all of that as they start off their Venetian adventure. They were only looking for a one-night affair, but it turned into so much more the minute they decided to confess each other's deepest secrets. Having met at a masquerade ball, both of them find confinement behind their masks, but the attraction is evident and it's hard for them to be apart. They are driven by passionate kisses, but it all slowly disappears the minute Evangeline announces her pregnancy to Matthew, and that's when their real adventure begins.

I really enjoyed reading Pregnant by Morning, both characters have been through a lot in their lives and when the two meet in Venice, they are transported into a whole new world where they don't have to pretend and just be. I've read another book by the same author and I wasn't disappointed at all. The plot flowed and it was very well-written. The setting is described very well which I really liked. There were times in the story that I would have liked to see more towards the end, but overall the story is a must read.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

Texas businessman Matthew Wheeler has taken all he can. The death of his wife is just too much. So many plans and dreams taken away when she died. He decides to leave his brother to take care of the business and goes to Venice. Never knowing that fate would step in and take him by surprise.

Evangeline just wants some peace from everyone. Her singing dreams are over when she has surgery and gets a quack that ruins her voice. She is at a masked party and meets a man that makes her laugh and gets her mind on other things, especially when her ex walks in with another woman.

These two met on what was supposed to be a one night stand but ended up being more. I loved this story and it had a great storyline. I read the blurb of this book and just knew it was something that I just had to read. You could feel the pain of both characters and see them having this huge connection. This book just goes to show you that sometimes fate has other plans for you and you never know what is going to happen until it's too late.

My Review:

4.6 Star Review - Pregnant by Morning

I recommend this book.

This book includes drama, passion, heartbreak, and romance throughout the entire story.

Matt has lives thru a lot of lose in the past 2 years. His wife then his grandfather. Now he has run away to find out how to move on with his life.

Evangeline has lost herself after a doctor's accident leaves he unable to sing. As they are both licking there wounds they find each other and learn to heal each other.

When she turnes up pregnant all bits are off. They both want different things for them and the baby. Can they figure out what will work for the both of them in order to be together? Or will the differences in there life rip them apart?

*****I was gifted an ARC of this and enjoyed every second of this book. *******

This book contains a passionate story with two people struggling with grief. One for lost people and one for a lose of self. Kat writes sweet but passionate romances that at times can have you laughing out loud at the witty conversations. Can't wait for her next book.

First I would like to say that I have no idea how this book got on my list, because these pregnancy books are sooo Nooot myyy thiiinngg... However, this one was okay.

The title was completely wrong for this book. They had like a month long thing before she even got pregnant. He looks scroungy on the cover where he was supposed to be a clean cut businessman from the US & she was an ex-punk-rock singer? The cover doesn't look like the vision... No biggie, because the cover isn't bad at all.

This was a cute one day fast read with a story that lasted 80% of the way through the book before their pregnancy conflict even started. Both are running & trying to heal over tragic losses. His wife died & she had a bum surgery that screwed up her singing voice for life. Both have no idea what life will bring them now & each must heal to find a new place to fit in their old lives using each other to get to that point.

It worth the quick read if you are into these fantasy pregnancy books, since I am not, I am a little biased in my opinion. Sorry.

Evangeline thinks that her life has ended when she lost her voice. She was a well-known singer. Being used to be in the limelight before, she crave for peace and normalcy. She seek solace in Venice and it was there she met Matt Wheeler. Matt is also on the run. He lost his wife and is still trying to come to term with his loss. Having met at a masquerade ball, both of them find comfort in each other but things got complicated when Evangeline announces her pregnancy to Matt.

This is a story of two lost souls who trying hard to find themselves again after tragedy strike. Both of the main characters are carrying emotional baggage and on the run. I like the fact that they help each other to overcome these hurdles and I guess their real challenge is when Evangeline discover her pregnancy, where they need to put aside their differences and accept the fact of life. It is a lovely read for me with sweet storyline and lovable characters.

3.5 out of 5. I found this to be a nice and easy read, one that conforms to lots of the Harlequin format romances, but nevertheless I found it interesting. I don't know who named this book but one could argue that it is misleading. Obviously she was pregnant the next morning after that critical night but the title seems to indicate that it was a one nighter. Not so, and yet it is true that their real involvement didn't actually begin until they were tied together by the upcoming birth of their child. I find many accidental pregnancy stories tedious but this one read easily and the background in Europe gave it color and interest. Not the best book this author has written, IMHO, but it certainly wasn't a dud. A nice story and a nice read.

In Pregnant by Morning by Kat Cantrell is about two lost souls finding love and hope again. Matthew and Evangeline both had a tragic past and had lost someone or something very much dear to them. This story is about how they both find love once again. The conflict in the story mostly comes from the unexpected pregnancy that comes much later in the story. Read More

This was a light easy romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. A one night stand turns into so much more in this lovely book from Kat Cantrell. It is well written and crafted. I was emotionally invested in the couple's happily ever after early on. The pacing was even, the settings detailed and beautiful and the dialogue appropriate to the characters and the situations.

I won "Pregnant by Morning" on Good Reads. It's a Harlequin Desire book by Kat Cantrell. The plot, however, is much more than the title suggests. It is about 2 people who are trying to enjoy life again after having gone through a great loss. The author makes it easy to imagine what they're going through in this 191 page book. So, if you are looking for a quick read to enjoy, try this one out!

This was really "eh". Basically he needed to get away and he fell in love with a pretty selfish and superficial woman...

Not even that hot of a book. The "good" parts got pretty stale pretty fast. Pretty bad when fiction can manage that!
