A great book to help you activate your inner healer. Very easy to understand and read and a valuable reference. While this book is written specifically for men, I feel anyone interested in learning alternative energy medicine techniques would get a lot out of reading it. For one thing, it has a complete easy to follow guide for applying EFT (meridian tapping) to your self to relieve stress. For this reason alone, I would buy this book (although I was lucky enough to win it on Goodreads First Read contest).
This book is packed with scientific information and techniques for creating positive emotions. While I “wholeheartedly” agree with the author that heart coherence increases harmony and improves well-being, I would have loved to see some importance also given to the gut brain. It is well known in energy healing in Wisdom Traditions that the heart chakra can only open up with compassion once gut feelings in the lower chakra are cleared and the origins of stress are dealt with, fulfilling basic human needs awareness stored in the gut region of the body. But then, perhaps, the importance of the gut brain or second brain will be taken up in a second volume. One does get the feeling that the author has only begun to scratch the surface on the subject of energy healing and has hoped to open people’s consciousness to the importance of integrative medicine using energy techniques for stress reduction. And I think he did a great job of explaining in simple terms what energy medicine is all about, how to begin doing it yourself, and its benefits.

Two facts are indisputable: Baby Boomers are aging, and they’re aging into a time of life fraught with greater risks of disease and decline. Further, a significant number are health and wellness oriented, and these explorers are more than willing to go beyond traditional medical paradigms to discover how to become healthier and less dependent on conventional treatment methods.
Jed Diamond, PhD, an author with a remarkable body of work focused on men’s health, has brought the force of his acumen and authority into a scintillating arena of healing called “energy medicine.” This far-reaching exploration peers deeply into the male psyche while assessing health risks confronting men today, especially those conditions that are a byproduct of modern stress.
But, ever the optimist, Jed Diamond counsels: “Men are not destined to get sick and die before their time. Men can have wonderful and productive lives. Young men need older men for support and guidance, and older men need to become mentors to the youth if they are going have meaningful lives as they age.”
Stress, and most of the debilitating diseases related to stress, concludes Dr. Diamond, can be addressed from the perspective of energy. As he insists, “Change the energy field and we change the material world. Heal our energy imbalances and we can heal ourselves.”
With that assurance, buttressed by substantial historical context and documentation, the author then escorts readers through the processes of energy healing, such as Emotional Freedom Techniques – acupuncture without needles. He discusses a powerful method to fight inflammation called “Earthing,” a practice even embraced by elite Tour de France cyclists. He discloses the mysterious power of meridian tapping. And then Dr. Diamond takes readers step-by-step through a variety of energy healing methods, complete with diagrams and straightforward instructions.
Jed Diamond communicates through his writing with accessible language and rich anecdotes from his own life, humanizing the learning process and heightening a sense of relationship one might find in a mentor or trusted counselor. He dispels ignorant challenges to energy healing with solid evidence and systematic validation. He brings optimism to men lacking confidence in a better future.
Baby Boomers can expect substantial physical and emotional challenges in their aging, and Jed Diamond has picked exactly the right moment to give them the gifts of energy healing – promising new pathways to self-empowerment, a continuing sense of self-directed destiny for which this generation has always aspired.

Inspirational, but a bit weak on the "how to" side.
