Trevor Owens may be one hell of a good friend to Eva, but he’s always wanted to get the fiery redhead between the sheets. If you’ve read Feel the Rush, book 2 of the Hard Feelings series (which I highly recommend you do before reading this), you remember Eva and Trevor. Two of the most lovable characters in the book. Both best friends with Meagan, they’ve been friends with each other for a while. That’s all it’s ever been for the two of them. Friendship.
Eva didn’t fall in love easily. Actually, she was beginng to think she was incapable of felling the little pitter-patter that pulasted around her heart as opposed to the one that pulsated between her legs. Physical attractions- physical feelings- she had down solid. It was the emotional ones she struggled with.

This is how Eva is. How she’s always been. Her ex boyfriend Luke, who happens to be the best man at Meagan and Reeds wedding (she is maid of honor) didn’t seem to get that. He was developing deep feelings for her that she couldn’t reciprocate, now he wants her back. She can’t go there, but now it’s awkward. Why did she not bring a date??? So Eva does the only thing she can think of when confronted by Luke. She pretends to be with someone else. She pretends to be with Trevor.
“It’s not that you’re repulsive, you’re just Trevor. You’re a slut. You’re cocky and arrogant and quite possibly the-”
“Sexiest man you’ve ever seen?” he interrupted.

Trevor is slutty, cocky and arrogant. He’s also a kind, sweet, loving and protective friend and person. He’s always been attracted to Eva, but never went there because he didn’t want to complicate things. But now that he’s near her, touching her, pretending she’s his... all bets are off.

What starts out as pretending turns into something more physical than either one imagined.
“I’m bending your rules...”

“Fuck the rules.”

What happens when the physical things they are feeling turn into real feelings, feelings neither of them are used to experiencing? Will they be able to keep on pretending, or own up to how they really feel?

This was a lovely, entertaining and light novella that was a great addition to the series. The characters were very lovable. I loved seeing the changes in them as the story progressed. I wish it was a little bit longer, I would have loved to see more of Trevor and Eva, but I’m very happy with how it ended!

Reviewed for: Where the Night Kind Roam

Pretending She's His by Kelsie Leverich picks up pretty much where the last book leaves off, at Meagan and Reed’s wedding. I’m not really sure that the author took the right approach with this one when it came to the “ex” plot line. She used Reed’s best friend that Eva had a fling with in the last book as the ex. Now we already know and love him and think he’s a pretty good guy. So basically we start the book with Eva not happy that she is going to see him again because things ended fairly bad. He wanted more, and she didn’t, so she broke his heart. She was really a bit bitchy to him in the beginning of this book which is I guess understandable because he kinda lashed out when they broke up but really I just felt sorry for him. So I spent at least a quarter of this book feeling bad for the broken hearted dude when I was supposed to be warming up to Eva and Trevor as a couple. I’m really thinking Ms. Leverich should have used some poor schlep that we never met and didn’t like.

Ok, so once you get past feeling sorry for Ole Dude, again maybe 30-40% of the way through you can really start concentrating on the Eva and Trevor plot line and it’s pretty good; however, this book is pretty short so there wasn’t much time to really get to know Trevor and Eva as a couple. I’m not really all that sure I ever truly warmed up to them. I always liked them as individual characters, but as a couple im just not so sure. Trevor is a good loyal friend, a little manwhorish, but in a lovable way. Eva is feisty, fun and also loyal. Maybe if the book had been longer and the beginning a bit different I would have liked the book more, but as it is, it’s just ok. It had lots of potential but never really got there for me. I am definitely not giving up on this series, I love the characters and the first two books were great! So we will see where we go from here. I am looking forward to the next book.

I loved this story!!

I haven't read and from this series, however I was so engaged in their story.

For a novella it didn't feel rushed, I was able to get to know these characters before we got into the hot n heavy, and let me tell you Kelsie know how to write hot n heavy well, very, very, very well!!

I didn't really understand luke, he seemed a little creepy to me!

I would highly recommend you read this, I know I'll be going back to start at the beginning myself

A solid 4 stars for me

I haven't read any of the other books in this series so I don't know what all I've missed, but I really enjoyed this novella! It was hot and steamy and had a dash of emotional issues thrown in. I kinda wish it were longer so I could get more from the steamy escapades of Eva and Travis!

"Awkward was an emotion Eva was unfamiliar with, but she had a feeling she was going to perfect it this weekend."

In this novella, Eva and Trevor, two intriguing, commitment-phobic characters from the Hard Feelings series are thrown together during their friends Meagan and Reed's wedding. Neither Eva nor Trevor do relationships. Eva's tough and closed-off. She just got out of a relationship with Luke, a guy who was far more into her than she was into him. While she didn't have feelings for him, her ego took a blow when he dumped her. Now they're both attending Megan and Reed's wedding and Luke is showing interest in giving things another try. Eva's not opposed to a wedding weekend hookup, but she knows that wouldn't be fair considering how he feels about her. What's a girl to do?
"He was a genuine guy. If he ever changed course and decided to settle down with one woman, he'd be the perfect guy you'd want to take home to your parents. A guy that would shake hands and drink a beer with your dad, then do dishes with your mom. Probably play catch with your brother and earn a little crush from your sister. He was also the guy that would sneak you off into the bathroom while your family was preoccupied and fuck you on the sink…"

Enter Trevor Owens: soldier, manwhore, friend, knight in shining armor. Eva's always been attracted to him (and him to her), but she knows his deal. He doesn't do relationships; he sleeps around. They're good friends, but he's not boyfriend material. Except, this weekend he offers to be just that. If he and Eva pretend they're dating, Luke will leave her alone and she'll have a peaceful weekend with friends. After a weak moment, she agrees to his proposition. As they're playing the game, it starts to feel a little too real. Can they have a weekend of no-strings-attached fun or is there something more to their friendship? Could she really be his for more than just a weekend? You'll have to read and find out.
"If anyone knew and understood Eva's lack of intimate emotion – it was Trevor. They were cut from the same cloth that was missing the fall-in-love thread."

Since this novella was told in from both Eva and Trevor's perspectives, the reader gets a nice look inside both of their heads as the weekend's events occur. I thought the dual POVs were pulled off well. I liked seeing the slightly softer side of Trevor. He intrigued me in Feel the Rush and I hoped he would eventually get his own book. Eva and Trevor are both likable, if flawed, characters. Eva's strong and tough. Trevor is hot and protective. Whether friends or involved in the fake relationship, they played well off each other. They had a spark that jumped off the page.

This was a quick and easy, steamy read. I really enjoy Kelsie's writing style and characters. I blew through this novella in a little under an hour. If you're a fan of the Hard Feelings series – or of hot military men – you will want to read this one (and the whole series). As a fan of the first two books in the series, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read this novella before its release. Thank you Penguin/InterMix and NetGalley! I'm very much looking forward to the next full-length novel in this series, A Beautiful Distraction.

Pretending She's His is my second read by Kelsie Leverich and you can officially call me a fan-girl! I absolutely loved book #2, Feel the Rush, and this was a short and sexy follow-up!

This novella length story takes place at the wedding of Meagan and Reed. Eva, Meagan's best friend, shows up without a date to the wedding and is faced with seeing her ex-boyfriend Luke. He broke it off with Eva but still has feelings. Enter Trevor... Meagan's other best friend, whom she's known since she was a teenager. Eva and Trevor make a plan to pretend they are dating to thwart Luke's advances, but their "pretending" soon turns into some seriously hot sexual tension!

Let me say that I kind of fell in love with Trevor in Feel the Rush, and was actually disappointed that he was only in a few chapters. When I saw that he starred in this novella I was over the moon swooning for him! He is such a sexy alpha male and is a perfect match for Eva, who is just as tough as he is. I wouldn't have pictured them together before reading this, but they really do make a good pair and I felt the attraction they had for each other. I liked seeing the sweet side to both characters too, especially how Eva was there to support Trevor in a very difficult family matter.

I love Kelsie's writing style - it really draws you in and you can't put her books down! The only downside to this novella was that it was too damn short ;) I would have loved to see more of Eva and Trevor, and hopefully they will make an appearance in a future book. Kelsie is coming out with book #3, A Beautiful Distraction, in May 2014 and it will definitely be at the top of my tbr! If you haven't read anything yet by Kelsie Leverich, I suggest you head over to Amazon and one-click her now!

4 FABULOUS STARS
“Weekend getaways are one thing. Weekend getaways surrounded by wedding festivities is in a completely new realm of ‘hell no.’”

Pretending She’s His is the perfect addition to the Hard Feeling series. This novella not only gives us intimate details from Meagan and Reed’s wedding but we get EVA AND TREVOR!

Trevor has been Meagan’s closest friend since high school. This friendship automatically encompassed Eva once she became Meagan’s bff.

“You know, every time I visit you ladies I seem to end up getting the death look.”

Trevor is the hot, womanizing playboy but under his panty dropping smile is a heart of gold. He has been attracted to Eva from the minute he laid eyes on her, nearly four years ago. Eva felt she had Trevor all figured out. Of course she has always been attracted to Trevor but she dismisses his flirtatious comments since she knows he has been with more woman than she felt comfortable even thinking about.

After an encounter with her ex, Eva needs a decoy boyfriend immediately. A plan is hatched and all participants are on the same page, then the true fun begins! As Trevor and Eva pretend to be in a relationship, Eva is surprised how much she enjoys his constant presence. Lines are blurred and small touches become warm embraces. When the weekend is over can they really go on their separate ways?

“Our lives are woven so tightly together. And then there’s you - the big flirt, the sweet, overprotective, touch-feely friend - the Trevor I’ve known for years. Then there’s the Trevor I go a glimpse of - the one who makes me feel like he sees me and could never get enough. The one that makes me feel something I’ve never felt before. Something real. And I can see the difference between the two - I just don’t know which one is the real Trevor when I’m around.”

Kelsie Leverich is a very talented author who leaves me breathless time and time again. The characters she creates truly captivate me and have me falling in love over and over again.
Grab every book in the Hard Feelings Series, they are all amazing HOT reads!!

Pretending She’s His, by Kelsie Leverich is a fun and sexy read. Fast paced and full of steamy romance. It is a story about how friendship can ultimately turn into a heated romance that knocks both characters for a loop.

The overall plot of the book is predictable. This plot has been in many popular Romance novels….girl going to wedding….best man is her ex….convinces friend to pose as her boyfriend….they unexpectedly fall in love. Not a unique formula. What makes this book stand out is the humor and the intriguing characters.

I found some flaws in the time line of the book. It was hard to believe the characters could drive from New York to Atlanta for a weekend. Add a wedding and romance in that same weekend. Almost impossible, even in fiction.

Overall, it was a fun read and nice addition to the Hard Feelings series.

Best PG kiss. Definitely. Award right here please. Sheesh. God that was hot. I was kind of sad reading this book. Okay maybe not sad, but jealous. Okay yeah definitely jealous. I loved Trevor in Feel the Rush. I may have asked Kelsie if I could have him... But now, now I think I love him even more. Eva is a sassy red headed little spit fire. I mean she's like the one you don't cross. But since she needs an out with an ex, Trevor decided to be her out, play her game. He can play. Right? Yikes. I think the screen on my kindle heated up reading the heat between these two. And when they cave, im pretty sure my kindle was smoking. It's that hot. Kelsie never fails to serve up a book that has just a taste if drama and a dessert tray and love filled, swoon worthy romance. You can never go wrong with a Kelsie Leverich book. I give this book 4.5 hearts. Sadly, I must give up Trevor to Eva. Gladly. They're a true match, so I'm okay with this.. sad, but okay.

Wow Eva's turn and...Trevor?!? whoa! this should be good *rubs palms* I just hope it will be a full length novel and not just a novella. Eva is this feisty creature you can't get enough of, and Trevor? well...he emits a certain aura of enigma and I think I would really like to get to know him more. Pretty excited for this one November can't come soon enough.

4.5 Stars!!! It was nice to read a story about heroes and heroines not burdened by troubles and dark past for--once, but instead just being their normal selves going about their usual lives, being friends, but one day being played by circumstances which led to another level of closeness and eventually love. That was Trevor and Eva's story. I like a good fluffy story.

I really enjoyed the first novel in this series, so I assumed this one would suit me as well. And I did like it, but I didn't really love it. It felt a little like the two MC's were together and in love all too quickly after just a few days of pretending. If there'd been some backup to that before the weekend, or previous feelings to be heard of, maybe I would have felt differently. But to me, this felt more like a rushed job at a novella than an actual story with depth and that was a bit disappointing.

My Thoughts:

Pretending She's His, by Kelsie Leverich, was a really sweet and cute companion novella in the Hard Feelings Series. The main character, Eva, was one of my absolute favorite secondary characters in the previous book in the series, Feel the Rush. She was Meg's best girl friend, and I enjoyed how fiercely loyal and protective she was of Meg, as well as her fun, carefree, and outgoing personality. I loved the fact that she was casually hooking up with Reed's best friend, Luke, and had high hopes for them getting seriously involved and having their own story. I also loved Trevor, Megs best male friend. He was so fun, flirty, gorgeous, and a great friend to both Meg and Eva. However, he slept around, and didn't do series relationships.

In Pretending She's His, Meg, and Reed are getting married, and have their closest friends and family together for a weekend of celebration, and festivities. Eva is nervous about running in to Luke, her ex-boyfriend of eight months, and Reed's best man throughout the weekend. The relationship didn't end well between the two of them when Luke started developing series feelings for Eva, but she didn't reciprocate his feelings, and knew that she never would. Eva didn't do series relationships. Not because she had a dark past, but because she had never found a man that made her want one. Trevor offers Eva a solution for the weekend, they can pretend to be in a relationship, so that she can avoid Luke, who hasn't been able to keep his eyes off of her.

Eva doesn't think Trevor's plan is a good idea, but when Luke starts confessing his regret and the fact that he still has feelings for Eva, she panics, and tells him that she is in a relationship with Trevor. The more that Eva and Trevor begin pretending to have feelings for one another, the more they realize that there is something very real between them. At the same time they both find themselves contemplating if everything if everything between them is just a really good act, or if it is something more. What will happen when the weekend ends? Will they go back to being just friends, or something more? And if things don't work out between the two of them, are they putting their friendship at risk?

My Rating:

I devoured this novella in record time. I love the Hard Feelings Series, and was so excited to get the opportunity to read Eva's story. Trevor brought out a softer side in Eva that I really enjoyed seeing. Whereas, Eva brought out a more intense and series side to Trevor that made my heart go pitter patter. Trevor wanted Eva to take him serious, and look at him as more than a friend, and boy oh boy, did he ever make her take notice! I thought it was neat how these two were a lot alike in the fact that they both didn't do series relationships, and were both such confident, and playful people, yet they brought out a side in each other that no one else had ever been able too previously. The Hard Feeling Series is a great New Adult, Contemporary Series, and each story is a companion novel. Therefore, each book in the series doesn't need to be read in order. If you are looking for a fun, flirty, sexy, and fast-paced series that you can get hooked on to, I highly suggest this one. If you are already a fan of this series, you will be really happy with this novella. If anything, it was so great, that I wasn't ready for it to come to an end. I give Pretending She's His, by Kelsie Leverich, 4 fun, passionate, and sexy stars!

My Favorite Quotes:

"There was not one part about the way he was feeling as he touched her that wasn't sincere. The way she felt as her body writhed beneath him was a feeling that he would never get enough of. He just needed to prove to her how he felt, so he would never have to know what it felt like to want something so fucking much and not being able to have it. Because he wanted her. All of her, every part of her. He wanted her mouth, her body, her pain-in-the-ass attitude. And he wanted her heart. And he wanted it all to himself--forever." (eARC, Loc. 1167)

~Trevor

"She had peeled her shirt over her head as he stood to remove his own clothing and now she was lying in front of him, experiencing a new side of Trevor. The side of him that was everything she never wanted in a man. Possessive, hungry, consuming. He was showing her how he felt, giving himself to her in a way she had never wanted from anyone else before. And as absolutely terrifying as it was--she wanted it. She wanted all of it." (eARC, Loc. 1172)

~Eva

Quick & Dirty: This was a sexy read about how friendship can ultimately turn into love. Very fast read full of steamy moments and intriguing characters, this is sure to satisfy fans of the series while waiting for the next book.

Opening Sentence: “I told you to bring a date.”

The Review:

Eva Riley is going to her best friend’s wedding. She is going to be the maid of honor. As luck would have it, her ex-boyfriend is the best man. They broke up eight months ago because Eva is just not a long term relationship type of girl. Their breakup was not a good one and luckily she hasn’t had to see him since, but obviously she can’t avoid him forever. Things are more than awkward between them and when he claims to still have feelings for her, the only thing Eva can do is pretend she is with someone else. The only available single guy that she can claim as a boyfriend is Trevor Owens.

Trevor loves women, but he has never been close to ever being in love with one. He and Eva have been friends for years, and he has always fantasized what she would be like in bed. So when she comes up with the plan to pretend to be together, he jumps right on board. But when their little game of pretend ends will they just go back to being friends? Or will some of their feelings become real?

Eva is a feisty girl full of spunk and attitude. She has never been in love before and honestly she doesn’t believe she is capable of falling in love. She enjoys a good time and when she gets bored she moves on. There has never been anyone that has ever made her feel giddy or jealous before. Underneath her tough shell, she is a sweet girl and she doesn’t want to hurt anyone intentionally. I enjoyed her carefree attitude and she was a fun character to meet.

Trevor is totally yummy with his good looks, and charming ways. Getting girls to fall for him has never been a problem, but he is more of a no strings attached kind of guy. He likes to have a good time and live it up while he can. There are a few people in his life that he cares about deeply and he would do anything for them. I thought Trevor was the perfect swoon worthy man and I loved reading his story.

Pretending She’s His is sexy, charming, and just a fun read. It is a novella, so it was a very quick read for me. I thought that the characters were fun and I loved that both of them were in the military. I have read books where the guy is the military, but I thought it added a good twist that Eva was as well. The romance was steamy and actually really cute. This is the first book I have read in this series and even though it wasn’t the first book, it stood perfectly fine on its own, and I in no way ever felt lost or confused. I am really interested in reading the rest of the series now. Leverich’s writing is wonderful and I would love to see what else she has come up with. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a fast read with passionate moments and fun characters.

Notable Scene:

“Should we give them a little show?” he asked, a slight hint of excitement in his voice, like he was at the shooting range, about to pull the trigger on a brand new Glock for the first time. Yes, gun metaphors—she was a soldier—it would be the same thing that would give her that slight hint of excitement too.

Raising an eyebrow, skeptically, she questioned, “Give them a show?

“We’ve got an audience.”

Eva didn’t need to look to the side to know that everyone who was still sitting at that table was watching them. But before she could even respond to him, he kissed her.

Damn, did he kiss her . . .

His finger rested beneath her chin, lifting it slightly so her head was angled toward his. His lips brushed over hers, and then lingered there—barely touching. It was agonizing. She wanted so bad to crush her lips to his—hard. She wanted so bad to lift her hands to the back of his neck and pull him to her so she could feel the full weight of his lips on hers.

FTC Advisory: Penguin/Intermix provided me with a copy of Pretending She’s His. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

I really liked Eva in Feel the Rush & enjoyed the friendship with Trev so I was excited for this short novella that tells their story. It's a classic fake mates romance plot involving friends who suddenly see each other in an entirely different light. Now they both want more, but are afraid to mess up their friendship.

Eva thinks it isn't possible for her to fall in love so she has gone through many men keeping her distance emotionally and just to the physical. She moves on before there is a chance for anything to take root and she assumes the same for Trevor. Eva believes her own rep of tough girl, but she's not and she really feels stuff which was why she chose the fake relationship to let her ex, Luke, down gently when they met up at Meagan and Reed's wedding. Too bad, the playacting rouses her like never before and she struggles to remember that none of its real.

Trev has always had a thing for Eva, but she turned him down every time so he graciously accepted the role of friend. Now he has his chance with her even if she thinks he's pretending. He doesn't know what it is that is going on between them, but its the first time he has felt this way about a woman. Trev knows there is a time limit on their time together before he has to go back to his base and she, to hers, but he'll find a way.

I enjoyed this story as a whole. The story was told with both Ava and Trevor as narrators. It was interesting seeing them now in the lead roles and having the story from their perspectives. There is so much more to them than I suspected. I had to adjust my perception a bit.

Eva isn't as confident in this one. She got her wake-up call in a way when for the first time someone else walked away from her. She was planning to end it with Luke because she wasn't feeling it, but he wanted more and got hurt and angrily said some home truths to her before he walked out the door. Eva got a taste of her own medicine and she didn't like it. She is still bitter until she sees that he never got over her and still wants her. I liked that she backed off on the mouthiness and macho long enough to try to let him down again without hurting him. Even thought the story didn't have the page count to develop things more, there is more than a hint that Luke did her a favor and started the change process in her so that she was ready to feel and love when Trevor came along to help her out of a jam.

Trevor has always kept things easy and simple with women. He has a charismatic, charming personality that makes it easy for him to get into a woman's panties, but Eva is the only one to resist which is probably what kept his attention on one woman long enough to want more. The author does a good job of making him likeable in spite of his seeming shallowness. He is a loyal, strong, and tender friend to both Meagan and Eva then he shows just what a wonderful thing it would be to belong to him and Eva can only fight it for so long particularly because of his sexy playfulness and need to spoon in bed.

The backdrop was Reed and Meagan's wedding so it was awesome to get some more of their story. I do wish there had been more closure with Luke- maybe he gets his own story later. The end felt a bit rushed coming hard on the heels of the relationship resolve. That being said, I was still happy with the results for the romance.

All in all, this was a good addition to the series and it will definitely please those who like me were fans of these two secondary characters from Feel the Rush. I suppose it could be read out of order, but there will be a strong influence on the background from the previous book. Those who love steamy Contemporary Romance should try this series.

Holy shit, I wish this was a full-length novel! As I’ve said before, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite adult series. We meet Eva and Trevor in Feel the Rush (book #2). They were Meg’s lovable but equally slutty best friends. I loved that despite their issues, they were always loyal friends to Meg and I couldn’t help but wonder that they had the next book because I knew they would be really good together. I was ecstatic when I found out that they did have their own story, but also kind of bummed when I found out it was a novella. But hey, I’ll take what I can get!

This story starts with Meg’s and Reed’s wedding weekend. Eva, who previously had a fling with Reed’s friend Luke, is nervous about seeing him after their relationship ended on a bad note. Nothing tragic here, just that Luke was falling for Eva and since Eva doesn’t do relationships she clearly let him know that she didn’t feel the same. Luke didn’t take it well. Trevor gives Eva the perfect solution, let Luke think they are dating each other to get him off her back. Eva answers with a swift hell-to-the-no. But when Luke starts telling her how much he misses her and how he wishes they could get back together, she panics and blurts out that she’s dating Trevor now. Of course, Luke know Eva just a little too well and knows she’s lying. This only makes Eva determined to prove him wrong, even if he is right.

Trevor and Eva set rules: no tongue, no sleeping together, etc. But with each stolen touch and the more she sees glimpses of the real Trevor, she starts falling for him a little bit more. But with Trevor being the male version of Eva, how can they make this work? And how can they go back to being friends if it doesn’t? I loved that despite this being a novella, that they didn’t get it on right away. In fact, this had a good amount of anticipation which is hard to accomplish considering the length of the book. There were so many, palm tingling, swoony and down-right sexy moments in this story. I didn’t want it to end! I loved Eva’s ‘I-don’t-give-a-fuck’ attitude and there’s two things you need to know about Trevor: he’s a military guy and he loves to spoon. Enough said ;)

I think it’s important to know before hand that yes this is a novella which means that yes, things will be rushed. But, the reason I think this works in this case is because not only do we already know Eva and Trevor (if you’ve read the series, and you totally should) but also because Eva and Trevor have been friends for a long time. Do I wish the story were longer? Hell yes! But I also think Kelsie pulled off one hell of a story in only 100-ish pages. This is a perfect story that you can read in an hour or two. Everything I love about Kelsie’s books, in a to-go version. I’m looking forward to seeing more about Eva and Trevor in the next book!

4 out of 5 stars!

4 star review by Jen Skewes

I loved Eva and Trevor when we first met them in Feel the Rush. An honestly going into this book I knew it was Eva's story but had no idea that the we were also getting more of Trevor. Pretending She's His is a quick, enjoyable, sexy read about friends to lovers.

Eva's BFF Meagan is getting married and Eva is the maid of honor. And the best man is none other than Eva's ex boyfriend Luke. Eva ande is Luke broke up a while ago but things between them ended badly. He wanted more and she didn't. Eva doesn't do relationships or love. She is all about the sex and nothing more. She is a very feisty woman with a lot of attitude. Luke dumped her because she didn't feel the same way about her. But now that they are face to face again Luke is have regrets, and wants to start things up again with Eva, but she has not interest. So of course Trevor swoops in and aves the day with his brilliant plan. Pretend that him and Eva are dating so Luke will back off. But Eva isn't so sure she wants to go along with that plan.

Trevor is Meagan's other best friend. They have known each other since high school. Trevor and Eva met through Meagan and have since become very close friends as well. Trevor is a ladies man, ok he is a man whore. He is sexy and charming and knows how to get all the ladies. But he is also seet, caring and is always there for Meagan and Eva when they need him. He is honestly an amazing guy and best friend. He has always secretly wanted Eva. So when he comes up with this plan to pretend that Eva is his he is doing it to help her but also for himself as well. But when happens when this game that they are playing stops being pretend and turns into so much more?

Trevor and Eva are alike in so many ways. Particularly when it comes to relationships. They both have the same views. Neither of them are looking for love or anything more than sex. But during this little game of pretend they both find that their feelings for each other have changed. An they both start to wonder what will happen if they crossed that line. Can they become more than just friends?

I loved Trevor and Eva together. They were meant to be together. Together they are fun and just down right sexy, especially Trevor. You will completely fall in love with Trevor. He is just so yummy and totally swoon worthy. The way he takes care of Meagan and is always there for her and even Eva. And the moments when he is "pretending" with Eva are so sweet, caring, and oh so sexy. Pretending She's His is a novella so it is a very quick read. I loved every minute of this book and to be honest was sad to see it end. I love these two together and just want more of them. Great job by Kelsie Leverich.

I am not usually a fan of novellas, but this one completely worked for me! After reading Feel the Rush, I loved that this continued with the characters we had grown to like so much! I really liked Meagan and Reed together, and while I never would have put Eva and Trevor together, I actually thought they were quite perfect! We meet both of them in Feel the Rush and are Meagan's best friends. I said in my FTR review that I loved Trevor especially, because he is a great guy friend to Meagan. He really has that older brother type vibe down pat and is very protective of her. Eva is also important to Meagan- so much so that when Eva gets a transfer to GA, Meagan ends up leaving NY to go with her. Eva is feisty, fun, and outgoing. I was hoping she would get her own book, but I honestly thought it would be with Luke, Reed's best friend.

Luke and Eva had hooked up in FTR and dated for a short while. Luke's feelings ran deeper than Eva's did and broke things off with her. Now, at Meg and Reed's wedding, Eva is forced to confront Luke again. Eva isn't blind to how attractive Luke is, or how good he could make her feel- yet she knows she has to stay away, as she doesn't to hurt him any more than she already has.

Trevor offers Eva the perfect out- pretend to be in a relationship with him and then she won't have to worry about Luke. Eva doesn't think that is a very good idea or that she needs to do it, but after a conversation with Luke, she goes for it and tells him her and Trevor have a thing going on.

Of course playing pretend isn't as easy as its cracked up to be. Eva and Trevor, while never really thought of each other in that way (Sure, Trevor's though about it, but not seriously), suddenly find themselves facing some serious sexual attraction. Eva makes the rules clear to Trevor about how they will act, but soon the rules are out the door and the two let instinct and hormones take over. Can these two just be physical with one another without letting feelings and emotions get in the way?

I might not have seen Trevor and Eva together, but after this novella- I was completely sold on those two. While neither one was actively looking for love, it goes to show that sometimes it has a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it.

Pretending She’s His, Hard Feelings #2.5, by Kelsie Leverich
Grade: B

“It was harmless. So why did she feel like curling up into the fetal position on the floor and listening to Alanis Morissette on repeat?”

Eve Riley knew going to her best friends wedding would be a blast and she was fully prepared to see her ex-boyfriend but she was not prepared for him wanting her back. With no other option Eve gets her friend Trevor Owens to pretend to be her boyfriend for the weekend. While convincing everyone they are really a couple Eve finds herself too comfortable with the role and having feelings for Trevor she never thought possible. As the lie goes on and more and more people believing it Eve just hopes she can come out of this with her friendship and her heart still whole.

Trevor Owens needs a break and is very excited to celebrate his best friend Megan’s wedding and just relax.Trevor never expected that by going to the wedding he would finally get what he always wanted for a night: Eve Riley. The more time Trevor spends with Eve the more he sees a different, softer side of her and it pulls at his heart strings. One night with Eve is not enough and Trevor finds himself wanting to keep Eve for much longer and maybe never let her go.

I LOVE the Hard Feelings series and I jumped at the chance to read Trevor and Eve’s story. I was actually surprised that these two ended up together and totally wasn’t expecting it but after reading Pretending She’s His I can see how they fit. Eve and Trevor are so great together and they bring out a softer side in each other that they both hide from the rest of the world. I’m not going to lie I cried a few times during this book so I recommend waiting to read it when you’re not sad or really emotional because I was a wreck.

The only problem that I had with Pretending She’s His was the ending. I felt that there were a lot of things left unresolved but I’m hoping that things get cleared up in later books or another novella. With that being said I am obsessed with the world that Kelsie Leverich has created. her heroes are smoking hot military men and the women are sexy and sassy and together they are a must read combination. Add this series to you reading list and I promise you will not be disappointed!

When I first saw that Kelsie Leverich was coming out with a novella in the Hard Feelings series, I was excited. Of course, I was. If you don’t already know this about me, I absolutely adore Kelsie! However, never, ever, did I expect to enjoy this novella as much as Feel the Rush, and possibly even more! I’ve never enjoyed a novella as much as I did this one.

Everyone is set to spend the weekend together to celebrate the wedding of Meagan and Reed (you remember them, right? *sigh*). Well, Eva is Meagan’s very dear friend and maid of honor. However, Meagan’s very best friend is Trevor. They’ve known each other forever and he just loves Meagan to pieces. Well, he also has grown to love Eva. Through Meagan, Eva and Trevor have gotten to know each other and have become very close. Trevor is so protective of these two women, it makes your heart melt with every turn of the page. Well, Eva’s ex, Luke, turns up for the weekend and has his sights set on getting Eva back. Long story short, after some debate, Eva and Trevor decide to pretend they’re together with the hopes of discouraging Luke’s advances while also maybe making him just a tad bit jealous. Does it work? I’m not telling. What happens with Eva and Trevor while they’re “pretending”? You’ll have to read the book to find out. But what I can tell you is that Pretending She’s His has everything you come to expect from one of Kelsie’s stories; a super strong female, an even stronger alpha male…mmm, love, lust, complications, and a story that’s sure to grip at your heart.

Although we met these characters in Feel the Rush, you don’t really get to know them until Pretending She’s His. And I can’t believe the connection I made with them with all from a novella. To me, that says amazing things about an author’s talent. Not many can hook me the way Kelsie does. The only bad thing I can say is that I wish I was still reading it right now. I wish I had more of Eva and Trevor (hint, hint, Kelsie).

I highly recommend Pretending She’s His and the entire Hard Feelings series! Go read it. Now. Yes, I’m bossy.

Synopsis:

New York Times bestselling author Kelsie Leverich “serves up fun, sexy and hot” (Flirty and Dirty Book Blog), in her new Hard Feelings novella, where a tempting little lie turns into so much more…

Eva Riley is the maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding and it just so happens that her ex is the best man. Eva’s a straight shooter and definitely not the damsel-in-distress type. But with her pride on the line and her ex’s heart on his sleeve, there might not be enough champagne in the world to get her through this weekend.

Trevor Owens may be one hell of a good friend to Eva, but he’s always wanted to get the fiery redhead between the sheets. So he swoops in and offers a solution to her ex problem: they can pretend to be together—just for the weekend. But when their little game of make-believe is over, will they be able to tell what’s real and what’s only pretend?

My Thoughts:

*2.5 Stars*

Eh. This story didn't really do it for me. I haven't read the previous installments in this series, but I can say that Pretending She's His can be a standalone read. Pretending She's His wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. To me, it falls into the "OK" category. I didn't find anything captivating about it. It's the same plot recycled again. Nothing new here.

The heroine Eva and hero Trevor are friends. Trevor is a man whore with a big ego, cocky attitude and thinks he's God's gift to women. They pretend to be a couple at a friend's wedding to get Eva's ex off her back. Then they end up falling in love. Same ol' same ol'. *yawn*

This was my first Kelsie Leverich story and to be honest I'm not particularly fond of her writing style or characters so I highly doubt I'll check out the others in the series or continue reading. However, I'm sure loyal followers of this series will enjoy this one.

What can I say.. I enjoy reading Kelsie's stories. This one was fun too. It was a quick read and I always love something that makes me smile and is sweet.
We get to meet Eva, "red" in the second book in the series as well as Trevor. We get to see how things are between them, they are just friends and well I loved them both personally. I absolutely love Trevor in the last book Feel the Rush as well as Eva. Kelsie had people asking for more of Eva so she delivered.
I like novellas I really do. You don't have to read the series in order to know what is going on in this book. Although I would personally say to read in order because it will all make so much more sense. You will know more about her BFF. BUT it is not necessary. I do have to say that for most series you can't read out of order and although I love a good series that has to be read in order there is something to say about authors who can write a series and people can start anywhere and not be completely lost.
Now that being said, this was a novella and it was awesome that it didn't feel completely rushed. Most shorter stories leave you feeling as though you were just left wondering. I think this one did a god job of letting you know exactly what was to come.
I am sure many may feel like this is was way fast for two people to fall for each other. I hate when stories do that. In a matter of days people fall in such deep love. BUT with this one they have known each other for years. They both have one thing in common Megan. They are both her best friend.
It was fun watching them pretend to be a couple (Eva and Trevor) seeing how much he really wants her and how much she is trying to fight feeling anything for him. She loves him as a friend. But that is where she is trying to draw the line. I also love the fact that they are so similar in so many ways.
I always love getting a side story that wasn't intended but we get a little something extra.
I enjoy reading the books in this series. I am a fan of Kelsie's books and have enjoyed all of them so far. I look forward to reading more.

This was my first Kelsie Leverich book, and she has become a new favorite of mine. Her characters are the perfect blend of witty, and loving. In a nutshell Pretending She's His was about two friends being in the right place, at the right time. On the weekend of her best friend's wedding, Eva needed someone to help her dissuade her ex-boyfriend against wanting to get back together. And Trevor is the faithful friend, who steps up to the plate. Eva and Trevor are both caring, independent characters. While, their similarities would normally draw them to each other, Trevor's bed-hopping tendencies have always put off Eva. But when Trevor comes to the rescue and plays her boyfriend for the weekend, the line blurs between friendship and something more.

I usually find novellas lacking in some aspects but, Pretending She's His is a full package book. It had the development that I want my characters to experience and depth to the story. Eva and Trevor are so incredibly, adorable together and I loved reading about their inner confusion. It was hard for both of them to tell if this relationship was actually going further than they had intended, or if it was just for show and a quick fling. But, their story turns into so much more than a quick weekend. I also loved that, had they not ended up together, I could still see them being close friends like before. I love the relationships that build from friendships, to me they're almost stronger and you definitely see that reflected throughout the book.

Overall, this is a terrific novella, and I just one-clicked the heck out of Ms. Leverich's other books. This book is well-written, engaging, with a hilarious cast that I can't wait to read more about! So, please go check it out. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more of Kelsie Leverich, and I for one can't wait :)

Happy Reading!

Pretending She’s His tells the story of Eva Riley and Trevor Owens both friends of Meagan Mitchell from Feel the Rush (book 2). So I should likely say I would strongly recommend you read Feel the Rush before you read this book.

Eva and Trevor have no desire to be in a relationship or to find love; they are carefree and enjoy sex for the physical pleasure it brings; no strings attached pleaseure. I really enjoyed getting to know both of these characters more as they intrigued me when they were in the background of the prior book.

Things get interesting….. when faced with a clinging ex these two decide to pretend to be together … and yes that’s when the reader can start to feel the sparks between these two.
There were a few scenes (especially the ones by the pool) when it was clear to the supporting cast and to the reader that these two felt a connection.

I really enjoyed seeing Meghan and Reed from Feel the Rush. The background for the book is their wedding day and it truly warmed my heart to watch this story continue to move forward.

As Eva and Trevor give into their attraction, yes the sex between these two is epic… two people who enjoy each other but you also feel the bond and my heart started to hope these two would admit to each other that this was more than a game.

I won’t tell you who gives in from but I will say toward the end of the book Ms. Leverich weaves in some very heartwarming scenes with Trevor’s family; these for me truly brought the story home and made me believe Trevor’s heart was open and embracing all that love can offer.

I do hope to see more of this couple in the future as I think there is more to tell about Eva and Trevor; yes I adored watching there two wild souls find each other.

I have thoroughly enjoying watching Ms. Leverich’s writing and story telling grow!

I am very much looking forward to A Beautiful Distraction (Hard Feelings, #3), Murano’s story.

Pretending She's His By Kelsie Leverich was a quick read. It was a fun and lighthearted book. I've enjoyed reading Kelsie's other books and this one was for sure on my tbr list. This book was a a cute take on friends pretending to be more for someone else's benefit. If I had to choose I would of made the book longer. I was enjoying the story and wished I could of seen more from Eva and Trevor. I instantly was addicted to their passion.

Eva and Trevor are Meagan's best friends from Feel The Rush. They both are attending Meagan's and Reed's wedding. The best man is coincidentally Eva's ex and she is the maid of honor. When he arrives at the wedding he let's Eva know that he want her back. She immediately regrets telling him that she is in a relationship with Trevor. It is apparent that he doesn't believe her. Trevor and Eva put on an act where they are very much together. It starts off as a innocent arrangement one weekend of pretending. Then it starts to turn into more. They both desire something from the other. Will it end when the weekend does? Or will these two be the perfect match?

Eva and Trevor are a perfect couple. First of all they are best friends. They know just about everything about each other. They are completely comfortable together. Eva is so taken with Trevor and the romantic side of him. She's never seen it before and wonders if this could be what she needs. It's just two people that a pretty much compatible in every way possible. They both need to sort through these new feelings. A decision needs to be made. Are they ready to commit to a real relationship without pretending? Can they even go back to being friends after experiencing how good they are together?

This is indeed a very quick read. It is well worth a read. If you liked Kelsie's other books then you will like this. Plus you get to witness Meagan and Reed's wedding which is a bonus.

We met Eva Riley and Trevor Owens in Feel the Rush], as they were Meagan Mitchell’s best friends. Pretending She's His reunited them for Meagan’s wedding to Reed Porter. Both Eva and Trevor were known “players,” who never let their hearts become involved in relationships. They liked the thrill of the chase and engaged in the game, without developing deeper feelings for their partners.

Ironically, the two most sexually potent characters in Kelsie Leverich’s books, explored their feelings for each other in a platonic way. The more time the spent with each other, the more they wanted to be together. When they inevitably let their respective guards down, they collided in an explosive joining for the record books. Just when we thought they would only be together temporarily, a family crisis brought them back together, permanently.

Eva and Trevor were the fun-loving sidekicks in Feel the Rush, but readers knew that they had great depth and capacity for love. They just needed the opportunity to peel away the protective layers around their hearts, and be seen for whom they truly were.

I enjoyed Pretending She's His and only wished the story were longer. We need to see some sort of resolution for Luke.
