Crockett's Seduction

Rate this book
He Wanted the One Woman He Couldn't Have

Artist, rancher, bull rider… Crockett Jefferson had always been a man who followed his heart. So when his heart led him to the one woman he shouldn't turn to—Valentine Cakes, the mother of his brother's child—this sensitive cowboy knew he was in trouble.

Valentine had no idea what Crockett felt for her, but she did think the handsome cowboy was more tempting than any man had a right to be. Of course, she wasn't about to let on, because trying to win Crockett would confirm everything the Jefferson men had once thought about her: that she was a gold digger after a wealthy cowboy.

Crockett and Valentine were sitting on a powder keg—and it would take only one sweet kiss for the whole thing to explode!

This book is part of a series, and it would probably help to have read some of the previous books to understand the characters' backgrounds, although you can follow along without having done so. The hero and heroine, Crockett and Valentine, both blow really hot and cold, I liked them as individual characters, but I longed for the two of to just sit down and discuss their relationship. The jealousy story-line with the brother, Last, was understandable, but it got little old after awhile. Overall, a lighthearted read, that could have been better with a little more depth.

Crockett’s Seduction" – A Smooth Cowboy, a Stubborn Heart, and One Irresistible Romance

In Crockett’s Seduction, Tina Leonard serves up another swoon-worthy chapter in the Rancho Diablo series. Crockett is the charming cowboy with a plan, but he doesn’t count on falling hard for a heroine who’s just as strong-willed as he is. Their push-and-pull chemistry keeps things fun, fiery, and totally addictive.

Full of flirtation, family interference, and that signature Rancho Diablo magic—this is cowboy romance done right.

If any piece makes me admire an author it is one like this. I have been reading this series in order from the beginning and I must say I did not care for Valentine when she was first introduced. Which was the point I'm sure since she was one of the evil rivals for that spunky group of beauticians that stole my heart in the first book. Even when I knew after that fateful night that Last lost his mind and visited the Never Lonely saloon that she would have a story to tell in the future I dreaded it.

I am not the type to fall for villains and the lawsuit even after it was explained made me uneasy. But TL changed my mind about her. I have come upon other books with a similar "bad guy turns good" story line that has just made me roll my eyes and feel I wasted time but this... This is one of my favorites I think for the simple fact that you see her heart. You know that while she has made her mistakes and she has regrets, she has overcame so much you can't help but sympathize. Valentine grows on you (for lack of a more romantic visual) like moss. It starts as just a little bit of admiration, just a spot here or there, and before you know it you are completely taken over by her. I am usually more taken in by the heroes more than the heroines but while Crockett was great (even if he was a little whiney and immature about the whole "I was an artist first" thing) Valentine stole this book for me.

In Leonard’s romance novel, Crockett Jefferson is many things—artist, rancher, bull rider—and he has always followed his heart. When he falls for the mother of his brother’s child, he knows he’s in deep. Valentine never suspected how Crockett felt, but if she follows her heart and pursues him; her actions will only cement what the Jefferson family has always believed—that she’s nothing but a gold digger. To follow their hearts, they must both be honest with themselves first.

A solid contribution to the Cowboy at Heart series.

Crockett's Seduction is number 10 in Cowboys By The Dozen series by Tina Leonard. The youngest brother, Last, got Valentine pregnant, but is not in love with her. Last does not remember having sex with Valentine. He had been drinking. Valentine and her baby girl live at the Jefferson ranch in one of the houses. Artist, rancher and bull rider, Crockett Jefferson finds himself thinking about Valentine a lot. He doesn't want to step in if there is a chance for Valentine and Last to get together. Crockett doesn't want them to get together. Crockett flirts with Valentine every change he gets. He ends up sleeping with Valentine. Valentine is pregnant again by a Jefferson. Crockett tries like crazy to get Valentine to marry him. Especially now that she is pregnant with his child. Another funny, romantic book. A must read. Two more books read in the series.
