Ari commits the ultimate sin of unfaithfulness, but adds to the deception when he fathers a child by another woman. A string of events places Taylor s life in danger and into the arms of the sexiest bachelor in Chicago, Kalon Knight. Angel de`Amor is a Chicago native. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. As a Senior Accountant for real-estate companies for the past eleven years, in her day job she focuses on budgets, reports, and financial statements, and in her free time she continued to be an avid reader.

Angel’s love of reading began in her early teens, she started with magazines and short stories, and soon moved into romance novels. A hopeless romantic, Angel reads at least thirty books a year and when she finally started to write her own stories, Angel stayed true to her passion.

I enjoyed the drama in this story, it kept you wanting to keep turning the pages. I pulled an all nighter on this one, so word of
caution, once you start reading this, be prepared ignore everything else. This is the first reading from the author, but had the
opportunity to meet and hear her speak at a book conference. I am looking forward to the next one.

Taylor Briggs comes from a very influential family so when she finds out a week before her wedding that her fiancée, Ari Gallagher has been harboring a secret all of this time, she is baffled at what she should do. She doesn’t want her family to be part of a scandal so against her best judgment, she goes along with the wedding and decides not to mention to Ari that she knows about his secret.

Armed with her husband’s infidelity, Taylor decided to dive into the arms of one of the city’s most eligible bachelors, Kalon Knight who becomes her rebound love. Kalon broke his rule of “one time and gone” as he develops feelings for Taylor. Meanwhile, Ari is trying to keep his secret safe but little does he know, his world is about to be turned upside down when his mistress goes after his wife.

Maci (the mistress) is crazy times ten and I am not sure if I could have sat back and let her do the things to me that she had done to Taylor. Every woman has a breaking point. Taylor put up with a lot of nonsense from her husband and Maci.

I applaud the author on her debut novel. She told a very realistic story with great character development. Her writing was raw and edgy. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with all of the twists and turns. There was a dose of scandal, infidelity, betrayal and just the right amount of hot sex.

This story is full of drama, it's just that a majority of it is not believable drama. Even though a story is suppose to be fiction there is still a need for the author to follow logic. For me, there is no way a woman could hold on to knowledge that Taylor did and what she knew about Ari. You may not tell the anyone else but after a minimum amount of time (if you decide to keep the secret for a reason) you would talk to your partner about it. The timeline was a little wonky but she would have held on to this secret for years.

The POV bounces around and the story could use a bit more editing to get it cleaned up and flowing smoother. I also don't like when something is just thrown into a story for the sake of trying to add more mystery or get the reader to read the next book to find out why that was there. If this is an element you want to add somehow you have to build that into the story.

Dumb and Dumber

Ari and Taylor Briggs entered into a martial relationship by force. The results are a never-ending rollercoaster ride involving two ruined individuals. Deception plays a strong role, which causes Taylor to make adulterous decisions. Being in a political family, Ari’s life becomes even more complex as time goes on and her behavior causes more trouble than anticipated. Will Taylor and Ari remain married? Will lies and deceit venture before the true is revealed?

This book is guaranteed to keep the reader chuckling. I like how “His Betrayal Her Lies” by Angel De Amor seemed surreal with fictitious events that could occur. Readers can’t help but ask, ‘What would you do?’ And each reader is bound to answer this question with a different twist.

This book was so good to me. The story line was crazy. I mean Taylor marries a guy knowing his secrets, it's like why would she still marry him and all that is entailed with this story was craaaaaazzzzzy. I love me some Kalon because you can see how he's scared but slowly opening his heart. I loved reading this book and I soooooo can not wait for book 2.

Being that I am a ScandalHolic, I really loved the drama in this book! Often times, I found myself wanting to read ahead to see what would happen next because I couldn't take the suspense. Will she...won't she...Did she? Kept me entertained from start to finish. Definitely a great read!

I enjoyed this book, but am giving it a mid-rating because it didn't stand out to me. Not that it was bad, but it was just like a lot of other novels and was exactly what I expected from the summary.
