The truths in this book are very good and comforting (hence the 4 stars), but Lucado’s use of colloquialisms and levity really hinders the overall reading of the book.

Always Food for Thought

I have read a lot of Max's books. I liked this one as there is comic relief among the serious. Max is a story telling and those every day stories become masterful examples about God's love and how we ought to live and think as they roll off his writing pen. This book is a compilation of sorts as he has taken stories from other books to help create this one. I finally figured that out when a story about his "9 year old daughter" showed up and all of his kids are grown and married now. Nevertheless, the stories are timeless and serve to illustrate some really goid points about Christ's return. It is a book well worth reading. I use Max's books in part as a morning devotional. I always walk away with some new food for thought and a mind set on Godly things for the day.

As always, Max Lucado writes beautifully and simply and scripturally. He takes the somewhat scary topic of the end times when Christ comes again and makes it something to be longed for. He writes of the grace and love and righteousness of God--of how God's plan was to fulfill His justice while blazing a trail for us to follow to receive God's grace and mercy and ultimate eternal fellowship in heaven. God is the doer and the giver of gifts, and we are His beloved recipients.

Let us await His return with joy and expectancy.

Max Lucado is one of the best writers out there at using practical illustrations to make spiritual truths understandable. In this book, he looks at the event that takes place at the end of the age where Jesus Christ returns to set up His earthly kingdom. He offers encouragement for Christians to look forward to this event and warning for those who have not followed Christ to seriously reconsider their decision. I read this book many years ago, and enjoyed re-reading it again this week.

A great book to utilize along with his other book Life Lessons from Revelation. In addition, using your bible to read the scriptures he suggests along with the book of Revelation.
Max is an amazing story teller who can utilize real life stories to connect with the points being made in the scriptures.

So much to think about

Max has a great way of explaining what the bible says. Fun to read, a little humor with a lot of great "pictures" to help understand the message. I will be going back to the points that made me think and filled me with renewed hope for the coming of my Savior on that last day. I needed this in the uncertain world of today!

Another amazing book by Max Lucado. He takes something that some feel is intimidating and makes it something amazing and beautiful. I’m not sure I want all of my wrongdoings read allowed for all to hear, but the way the author explains it and breaks it down makes it beautiful and something to look forward to.

This is an end-time book but is not concerned with setting times are arguing for a millennial camp. It is written from a personal point of view. What does each component mean to you and I. Where will we be. How do we get there. Where is " there." What will we wear. Worth the read.
