Rate this book
People have always tried to contact the beyond, but it was only with the invention of the spirit board in the nineteenth century that this became practical for many thousands of spirit communication enthusiasts. Is it a demonic terror or a useful spiritual tool?

In this new book, Alexandra Chauran follows the history of spirit contact techniques leading to the development of the Ouija board and its amazing history. It's filled with dozens of fascinating reports from people who have used the board, ranging from the spookily creeptastic to the downright silly. You'll also learn how you can safely use the board for fun or spirituality, avoid fraud, and deal with doubting skeptics or religious fears.

This is one of the BEST books I have ever read. Ever. I loved it. It gave me everything I wanted when I decided to purchase this book and more.

This book was very informative, easy to read, easy to comprehend, and very interesting. It is definitely "a keeper" for my reference library.

This book discusses the history of the Ouija Board, how to use the Ouija Board, and the reputation of the Ouija Board. As an added and unexpected bonus of this book, there is also an entire chapter on different individual's experiences with the Ouija Board.

This book is really perfect for someone that is interested in reading all about the Ouija Board. It is perfect for someone that would like to start using the Ouija Board. It is also perfect for someone that may have used the Ouija Board for many, many years. It is a terrific read for in-the-closet Ouija Board users, out-of-the-closet Ouija Board users, believers of the Ouija Board, and even the non-believers.

If you are trying to decide if you should purchase this book or not, I would highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

I read this book as part of my 2022 Armchair Escapist project! I'll be travelling around the world via Google Maps and finding things that interest me, delving further into local stories, myths and unexplained stories.

Salem, MA

This was nothing like I was expecting, in a good way.

I’ve never been allowed to own a Ouija board (even at 25 years old) because my parents are weirdly superstitious. So I’ll have to wait until I move out to try one, despite my burning desire to.

I’m super interested in the occult, but definitely a sceptic - however much I desperately want to believe. So I really enjoyed the balance of this book. I expected a lot of nonsense to be stated as fact, but the author advises you to take everything with a grain of salt and explains the ideomotor effect in detail.

A lot of research and effort went into writing it, and I loved the history section. Who knew that Ouija is just French and German for yes?

In fact, only two parts really had me rolling my eyes - spirits entering through the genitals and aliens being called ‘space brothers’.

Things got a bit long towards the end, especially with so many random stories without a purpose, but I liked this.

This book was hard for me to get through at times without getting sleepy for some reason, but the ending made everything else worth it. I’m glad I read it.
