I won a copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway, in exchange for an honest review. The author also wrote a nice message at the front of the book, which was lovely :)

So, on to my review. I liked this book, but it took me a while to get into it. It started off where I wasn't so sure I was going to enjoy it, but after several pages I really got into the story. It was entertaining and held my interest, but there are perhaps a few things that I think the author could have done to improve this. It easily could have been pushed to 4 stars with further editing and sharpening - the story wasn't bad at all and the editing wasn't terrible, but there were certain parts and a couple of little editing slips that bugged me. But then, perhaps that's just me being picky. On the whole, it was a well-written and well paced novel.

Like other reviewers have said, the story and the characters were interesting and it was easy - once I'd got past the first few pages - to read this from cover to cover without much problem. This is Lance V. Ramsey's first novel, and I'm definitely interested to read more from him.

I won this book in the giveaway (yay me!) and I was quite happy to jump into reading when it arrived on Thursday afternoon.
I'll start off by saying that I enjoyed reading this book. It hasn't won the title of "most favourite book ever" but it was still a fun read and one that I'll read again in the future.

I'll admit I was not familiar with the majority of the slang used in conversations (possibly cause I'm an Aussie girl who has never been to England) and that created a small barrier to begin with but I quickly got into the pace of the book and was fine after.

I don't want to say too much about the characters or the storyline so as not to spoil it for others but the story was a serious roller coaster of...well, everything! One second it's funny, the next depressing and angsty, then everything is on the up and up, and then it repeats. It's crazy! But the good kind of crazy.

Now I look forward to reading the sequel.

Well written and making good use of modern culture, Wrong Direction is not like anything I've ever read before.
It tells the story of Jack a bright but fed-up sixth form student living in Bow in London who finds a summer job working for Essex boy Josh, with his swanky life and equally swanky friends/band members, and his particularly intriguing drummer Leon. Soon Josh finds himself immersed into a world he's never experienced before, and essentially discovers himself through those he meets.
It does contain much explicit content, an is therefore suitable for those 18 and over, but this doesn't take away anything from the story itself. Well worth a read.

A gay young adult fiction set in London. Jack Cox gets kicked out of Sixth Form College in East London, and embarks on a great life-changing adventure, when he takes a job with Essex boy Josh Wood, and winds up in his band. But when he meets Leon Bershkov, the hunky drummer, will his life take another turn, or will it start heading in the Wrong Direction?
