Ashton Grey’s restaurant, Sweet Home, is in trouble. Months of empty tables have left her and her partners near bankruptcy, and her father’s prediction of her failure as a chef seems imminent. But a chance encounter could provide Ashton with the publicity she needs to save her restaurant—if the fiery chef is willing to compete on a reality cooking show. But in order to win, she needs to stay focused. No problem…until she meets the head judge.

Celebrity chef Ty Cates is ready to get away from the camera and back to the kitchen where he belongs. Performing as head judge on a reality show is just one more commitment he’d like to get out of, especially after he meets Ashton. Head judges dating contestants is about as taboo as putting ketchup on filet mignon, but from the moment they meet, there’s a simmering heat between them that neither can ignore.

As the competition heats up, they rely on sneaking around, stealing amazing night after amazing night together when the cameras aren’t rolling. When both realize what’s starting to feel like love could easily be a recipe for disaster, Ashton and Ty need to make a choice—get out of the kitchen or turn up the heat.

I went into this book with such high hopes, based on the ratings it has gotten so far, and the fact that it revolves around a cooking show. I LOVE watching all the Masterchef shows, so I really appreciated getting to know what all goes behind the making of each uninterrupted episode! Kudos to the participants from me!!! I really enjoyed the cooking show part of the book. It was amazing to get the true feelings of the exhausted and anxious contestants.

Another thing I liked about the book was the humorous bits thrown in, especially between Scott and Ty. They really were the highlights for me. I liked Ty's personality a lot. He was quite in sync with the Southern gentleman he was being portrayed as. I especially liked the fierce, feisty bits of conversations he shared with Ashton. I liked, too, the way the secondary characters had been portrayed.

But I just didn't like Ashton. In Simon Cowell's words, "I didn't like it, I HATED it!!" She was just too EXTREME!! It seemed to me that everytime she was either extremely angry, or extremely emotional (crying all the time). If she was so worried about the knowledge of her affair slipping out, which could cause so much trouble for her and her partners, she really shouldn't have slipped up as much as she did. And she didn't even have the excuse of being distracted by the lust for Ty to make her do that. She was not at all consistent in her characterisations. Initially she came across as a normal girl, with normal hang-ups, but having to put on a brave front. But as the story progressed, she increasingly became as emotional as pregnant ladies are purported to be! And it was such a head-turner! She was always whiny, always thinking about what her dad would have said or done in every tricky situation. It got old pretty sooner than that. Just sufficing by saying that she has been scarred by the sour experience she has had with her parents would have done SO WELL!! But no, she had to recount every possible reaction her dad had given to her in the past.

Another thing that felt a bit weird to me was, that the writing really wasn't consistent throughout the book. Some scenes were so well written, I wanted to go on reading the book. But some sections were so jarring, so abrupt, that in the end I had to resort to skimming paragraphs to save my sanity! I felt as if the book had been written by two different persons..

The story gave too much attention to reflecting the behind-the-scenes-of-a-cooking-show part of the story, while shamelessly hurrying through the important bits. Fights were getting resolved within the length of a page, the MC's were getting magical epiphanies as soon as they had committed a mistake. There wasn't even a proper marking of when the previous day ended and the events of the next day had started to be described. There was so much CHEESINESS that my teeth ached from grinding them too hard.

Ugggghhhhh!! I could go on and on about what all I didn't like in the book. But I will conclude by saying that the two stars I have given as my rating are for the same number of things I liked, which I started off my review with.

I am now a bit skeptical to read the next book in the series. I really hope the author did a better (MUCH BETTER) job in it than here!!

The basis for this story is a cooking reality show and the reality show aspect really exhibits itself in the over-the-top characters and happenings. Ty and Ashton work well together but their interactions are also fleeting and rushed due to the secretiveness(Ty's the host/judge of reality competition show Ashton is on). There was some good tension with heated glances when they were filming for the show and around the contestants and crew but as far as an in depth and fleshed out relationship, it was lacking.
Overall, the story was a mixed bag of over-the-top villains- Morgan the spiteful contestant and Ashton's vindictive disapproving father, bratty chefs, Ty's funny friend Scott who he shares great quips with and because of is able to bust out of his cardboard cutout for awhile, and a main couple who aren't content to just share smoldering glances and risk reputations to be together.
If your favorite reality show is on hiatus then you'll definitely want to give Some Like It Spicy a go to get your wild and crazy fix.

4.5 STARS

New to me author Robbie Terman serves up a delicious treat in her latest book Some Like It atruegemawardSpicy. While I don’t want much reality TV, I have a hard time passing by books with a cooking theme. So when I read the synopsis for this book, I knew it would be one I’d enjoy I just had no idea how much I’d love it. Set during the filming of a Celebrity Chef competition we find out just how hot things get when the host and top chef judge falls for one of the contestants. I found this book to be a delicious and sensual treat filled with stolen moments, sexy food play, and I give the author kudos for showing the true Texan spirit in one of the supporting cast.

I fell in love with the heroine, Ashton Grey in the first chapter. A no nonsense executive chef and restaurant owner she has no problem sharing her opinion with everyone including a jackass of a customer. Her most recent tirade gets her noticed by a producer of The Next Celebrity Chef and while it’s something she really doesn’t want to do her failing restaurant and her two best friends and business partners make her realize she has no choice. She can only imagine how her overbearing, pompous, verbally abusive restaurant critic father will react when hears the news.

Ty Cates’ life is no longer his own, a top celebrity chef his image and name have afforded him every opportunity but it’s also left him exhausted, bitter, and contemplating what he wants from life. Realizing his life is out of control but with no end in sight Ty decides maybe the voice of the new vice president of talent might be the answer to his prayers, but the minute he lays eyes on Ashton, he’s a goner even though he tries to fight it every step of the way.

As you can imagine, these two becoming involved during filming has bad news written all over it and while it starts out fairly innocently it’s not long before these two have moved way past simmer into full boil. Their chemistry is off the charts and even though they think they are being careful even the viewers at home can see the steam rising off of them. A reality television show wouldn’t survive without conflict and there is plenty of that with some of the members of the group although most are pretty even keeled which I found a little “off” because chefs are notorious for being over the top. However, the intensity of these two characters, the outside forces closing in on them and the ever present expiration date on their tryst due to the time constraints of the show lead to some very passionate and smokin’ hot scenes and in reality a very deep connection. I loved how these two just “get” each other and I really love that Ashton for the most part isn’t all that impressed with Ty’s celebrity status. I also appreciate that Ty realizes Ashton has some inadequacy issues and tries to get to the root of that problem and help her deal with it head on.

Although this book moved at a rapid pace over about a two month time span, it was full and rich. There was a lot of territory covered, a lot of background information on both characters, and their relationship blossomed and grew over that time. In addition to being a fantastic romance, Some Like It Spicy, is a tantalizing feast for the mind, body, and soul.

I received an ARC through NetGalley.

I use to be really addicted to Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, and Master Chef, so I figured I'd enjoy Some Like it Spicy. I was expecting a quick and fun romance set against the backdrop of reality TV, but I wasn't expecting to fall madly in love with it! I became so immersed in Ashton and Ty's romance that I actually cried tears of joy at the end, even though I'm typically annoyed by the cliche engagement type endings. This was just an amazing book. It has great characters (although it took me a bit to warm up to Ashton), a great premise, a super fun plot, and a sexy romance! There's also plenty of scandal and real life problems, too, but surprisingly those didn't take away from my enjoyment, which sometimes happens.

Some Like it Spicy follows Ashton as she competes on a popular Top Chef-like reality show. She was hesitant to sign on, but her business partners convinced her that she'd be doing it for all them, since her restaurant is sinking. There she meets the host, and head judge, Ty Cates. It's an instant attraction, but there's also some antagonism there, since Ashton is quite the strong personality and very defensive. Of course, their attraction is only heightened by the fact that it's illegal for them to be involved while the show is filming. They have to sneak around, or at least get creative with the time they're allowed alone together. I love forbidden romance, so I loved Ashton and Ty! Their sexual chemistry is through the roof and they find themselves in some sticky situations.

In addition to the romance, I absolutely loved the whole reality TV set up. Some Like it Spicy takes us on set, back stage, and beyond! It was a lot of fun seeing the inner workings of so-called "reality" television. I never thought about it much, but this seems like how it probably works. I felt like I was actually watching The Next Top Celebrity Chef along with the outtakes specials. We get to see all of the challenges which made my tummy rumble, and the grueling long hours of reshooting and interviews. Then we follow the contestants back to their house, and really get to see all of the different personalities. There are a couple of stereotypes, but they were clearly there to fill a specific role on the TV show, so that didn't bother me. I grew to absolutely adore Jolene and her mission to make health food tasty!

Some Like it Spicy was a very welcome surprise. It's probably snagged the position of my favorite Contemporary Romance. I just loved everything about it, except that it made me really hungry and I wanted to climb into the pages to steal some of the food! I laughed, I cried, I swooned! This romance really does have it all!

ARC REVIEW

The Perfect Recipe #1, I have read the other two books in this series each a stand alone so you don't have to read them if you don't want to but they are sooo goood! I love reading romance that has cooks/chefs/bakers throw in a cooking competition and I'm all over it. I really enjoyed this one, it has humor, excitement, and betrayal. Terman did a great job of portraying the nerve racking excitement of a competition. The sexual tension and chemistry between Ty and Ashton is super hot and breaking up the tension both in and out of the kitchen is the humor, which had some real laugh out loud moments.

Ashton learned how to cook from her grandmother and after culinary school her grandmother died and left her with some money to open her own restaurant. With her two best friends Ashton opened Sweet Home. Ashton has spent her whole life trying to make her father proud he's her toughest critic, and as a famous food critic he's pretty harsh. Ty Cates is tired of the celebrity lifestyle and the paparazzi and all the sycophants who all want something from him; it's been months since been in a kitchen and even longer than that since he's been in his own restaurant's kitchen. He would love to get out of the spotlight and spend some time with his family and just cook but he has contracts to fulfill.

Ty and Ashton fall in love during The Next Celebrity Chef, but fraternization between contestant and judge is forbidden. Ashton keeps thinking that it's all just a fling and by the end of the show it will be over that doesn't keep her from falling in love. Ty knows what he has with Ashton is much more than anything he's ever felt before and he's willing to risk everything on their relationship. But will their relationship survive when the truth comes out? Overall, it is a great book I loved the cheesy over top ending.

Sorry English speaking friends, this time review only in Portuguese. Super lazy these days :(

3.5 - 4.0 estrelas

OLHA A FACAA!HAHAHA

Ty, já é bem seguro de si. Bom moço do sul.

Humilhação total, mereceu as porradas. E o melhor foi a mãe da Ashton ficar comendo tranquilamente enquanto o marido levava a surra!

Recomendo para você que quer uma leitura com uma temática diferente e leve :D

I have to thank Jessica from Entangled for putting this on my radar and then being generous enough to give me a copy to read/review with no expectations for how I would feel about it. This was a fun read with heart, heat and angst plus a hero that really gets under your skin.

Ashton's dream is crumbling around her and her partners. The restaurant she's always wanted is not getting enough traffic to pay the bills and her own temper may have just put the final nail in the coffin. What she doesn't count on is a reality cooking show seeing the melt-down and offering her a last minute spot on the show which could give her restaurant the publicity it desperately needs to survive. She goes to the set and runs in to the hottest celebrity chef out there but not only does she realize this contest offers more than just publicity it also puts her in close contact with a man she shouldn't crave but can't resist. She's got a lot of issues caused by a demanding, cold father who happens to be one of the most respected restaurant critics and also has a tendency to bottle her emotions up until they explode out of her and get directed at everyone but the one man she needs to finally stand up to. I felt for her as she tries to deny what she is feeling for Ty and keep the lid on what she wants to say to her father. I have to say one of my favorite moments was her finally standing up for herself and loved that Ty stood beside her when this all comes to a boil.

Ty was such a strong hero with an amazing heart. Sure he's got all the trappings that being one of the hottest celebrity chefs entails but the whole dating the latest model or being at the latest hot spot is wearing him down. He misses being able to cook and actually have a private life with hopes of finding a woman who will complete him. When he meets Ashton there is an amazing instant attraction and connection but when he realizes she's a contestant on the show he is judging he knows it can't go anywhere. He still ends up pursuing her and we get some hot sexy times as they both manage to sneak time with each other. When things blow up due to a conniving eliminated contestant we get to see that this relationship means more to both of them than they were ever willing to tell each other. I loved watching him come to terms with issues she has and supporting her even when she makes it incredibly difficult to do so. He's such a strong character and I adored that.

Thanks again to Entangled Edge and Jessica for sharing this with me as I will be keeping my eye out for more by this author.

This offering from Robbie Terman is a delightful treat. It begins with the ambitious Ashton, a chef with a restaurant that’s struggling to stay open for business. From the start, you can tell that she’s determined, hardworking and tenacious. She works diligently to ensure that her dream stays alive. This is why she has no choice but to reluctantly appear on a reality television show that features chefs vying for the chance to reach celebrity status. During the taping, you see Ashton fighting tooth and nail for herself and her food, determined to let nothing stand in her way of success. That is until she meets the charming and sexy celebrity chef and host, Ty Cates. The moment they meet, sparks fly, and Ashton’s fight involves more than just food, but also her heart.

This story is warm, fun and wonderfully written. It’s fast-paced and draws you in from the very start. The characters of Ashton and Ty have incredible chemistry that flies off of the page. Their instant attraction for one another is catching, and it’s so much fun to watch them develop their feelings from the rush of love at first sight, to the decision of whether or not to risk everything for true love. Ashton and Ty are well developed, deep characters that you find yourself attached to on such an intense level that their intimate moments go beyond erotic.

I can honestly say that this book was so good, I read the entire thing in one sitting. I could not put it down before I knew what was going to happen next! It made me laugh, cry and renew my faith in the awesomeness that is love at first sight.

Ashton enters a reality tv cooking competition (think Top Chef) for both the publicity and cash prize needed to save her struggling Chicago restaurant. Ty is the sexy celebrity chef host of the show who, jaded by the celebrity chef life, wants nothing more than to get back into the kitchen as a chef and spend time with family and friends. Of course, the second Ty and Ashton meet, fireworks go off, the chemistry is explosive, and they find themselves in a secret torid affair that, if discovered, could have Ashton disqualified from the competition and Ty in court defending a breach of contract suit.

There us much to enjoy here. The opening scene where Ashton deals with a patron of her restaurant over the cook of his steak is genuinely hilarious (and reminiscent of the opening scene of the movie No Reservation), as is the show's challenge at a B&B. The sex is steamy, the personalities varied, and the whole reality cooking competition aspect incredibly amusing and rather believable. I watch a lot of those shows, and while caricatured at times, it felt on point.

Yet there were weaknesses, such as really immature behavior more typical of teens (a food fight, repeated references to someone's body part as 'Ty Junior'), and serious emotional and behavioral disconnect in Ashton as the story progressed. But the food and cooking descriptions made up for mist of the weaknesses. And the steamy sex.

New to me author Robbie Terman serves up a delicious treat in "Some Like It Spicy".
Ashton Grey is the chef/owner of a struggling Chicago restaurant. A video recording of Ashton getting upset with a customer is leaked to producers of a reality TV chef show which leads to her reluctantly becoming a contestant. The money and fame would certainly help to get her restaurant noticed and busy again.
Ty Cates is a celebrity chef himself and Head Judge on the show. He has an immediate attraction to Ashton but involvement with a contestant is strictly forbidden.
Risking all we find out just how hot and spicy things get between Ty and Ashton both in and out of the kitchen. Their chemistry and "forbidden love" type romance had me turning the pages from start to finish in one sitting.
I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series.

A TV cooking show that has cattiness, asshat’s but most of all two people that can’t fight the attraction they feel for each other. This could cost him his career and her the restaurant of her dreams but not only hers but also the friends that invested with her.

Ashton Grey is a wonderful woman with a short fuse when it comes to people critiquing her food. Sweet Home is in ruins if she does not do this TV show “The Next Celebrity Chef”, not only will Ashton dreams be shattered but she would have disappointed her Nana. Then of course there is Jenna and Chloe that have invested in the restaurant so she accepts for the sake of Sweet Home’s survival.

Ty Cates is a celebrity chef and now he’s tired of the spotlight all he wants to do is cook do what he loves to do. Sure he had his fun with the models, the spotlight but now he doesn’t have time just to be himself. He is ready to finally find a woman that makes him laugh that is smart someone that he can spend the rest of his life with. When he meets a woman at the stage of “The Next Celebrity Chef” he believes he is meeting Andrea the Vice President of Talent for food Fanatics TV but instead found Ashton.

Ashton has a story of her father has always critiqued her food and belittled her. Only that doesn’t stop her from doing this show, she needs to remember not to let him in her head and ruin her chance from saving her dream. Now she is hearing Ty critique her chicken salad sandwich that it needs more salt. She knows that it doesn’t need anything else that it is perfect. Ty felt a connection to Ashton but knows that they can’t form no kind of relationship but the more time he spends time with her the more he wants her. When the show starts to tape Ty finds himself watching her and Ashton can’t help seeking him out when it’s time to go to the set. The stares that they share the sneaking around, eventually someone is going to find out, what if they mess up and they get caught up in the moment especially when there is one contestant that seems to have a b*&*hy attitude that no one is able to support. They both know that this can’t last that as soon as the show is over she will be going back to Chicago and leave him. Ashton knows that she needs to break it off with him, she is starting to have feelings for him but she has to do it. Ty is not going to let her go this is not just about sex.

Some Like It Spicy is a hilarious read that had me laughing out loud. I was greatly intrigued by the set-up of this story. I love watching cooking shows like MasterChef then of course Hell’s Kitchen so this book was amazing. The characters are well developed and the pace of this book goes by quickly and kept me interested. Ashton and Ty have an intense chemistry that explodes over a night making pizza who would have thought. The dialogue is snappy, and Ashton always seems to have just the right thing to say to Ty when it comes to cooking or even to a certain contestant. That is one of the reasons why I could not put this book down the drama I just kept turning the pages and before I knew it the story was over. One of the most memorable moments in this book is the food fight; I could not believe that everyone was throwing food at each other, dumping soup on each other, totally hilarious.

If you want to read a book that will bring out a smile, laughter and is full of romance, then this is a book for you.

One of the things I like about books published by Entangled is the fact that I am never disappointed in them. I know that I am going to enjoy the book, and not be throwing away my money. Some Like it Spicy certainly met that standard! I got so frustrated, because I was completely captivated by it, then real life stepped in, and I had to put it down until the next day. It is such a sweet (and spicy!) read that you won't want to put it down.

Ashton is the best! We meet her when she just about pins a guy's nuts to his chair with a kitchen knife, and seriously, how can you NOT love her for that alone? She has a temper (obviously), doesn't take criticism about her cooking well (after meeting her father, it's no wonder), and is about to lose the restaurant she and her two best friends have put everything into. The last thing she want to do is a reality cooking show, but her best friends convince her the publicity, win or lose, is what they need to pull the restaurant back from the brink of closure.

Enter Ty Cates. *sigh* He's hot, a celebrity chef, and used to dating women who's IQ's match their bra sizes (love that line!). He's instantly attracted to Ashton, but because of the rules in his contract with the show, he can't fraternize with her, let alone date her. After being with woman who don't eat and just want to be photographed on his arm to further their career's, Ashton's feistiness and love of food soon has him, and her, risking both of their careers to be with each other.

From Ashton puking on Ty's shoes, then nearly getting caught trying to hide her (naked) self and a stray condom, to a jolted ex-contestant doing what she can to ruin Ashton's chances on the show, Some Like it Spicy takes you on whirlwind of emotions. There were so many parts that had me cracking up laughing, out loud in fact, and there were times that I had tears in my eyes. I love how it started, I loved getting immersed in it, and I LOVE how it ended! One of the best happy ever after's I have read in a while. If you want a book with attitude, this one's for you!!

A 5 star read!

A pinch of laughter, a dash of tears and a dollop of spunk, create the sensational new book Some Like It Spicy by Robbie Terman. I experienced every emotion known to woman while devouring this fast-paced gem. The story is so good and well written, I could not put it down. If you are a foodie, a reality TV junkie or someone that just loves a great contemporary romance, look no further because this book is the icing on the cake.

Current TV reality show, The Next Celebrity Chef, is seeking contestants. By sheer coincidence, one of the show's producers is patronizing Ashton Grey's restaurant when a humiliating yet comical incident occurs between one of the customers and Ashton. Ashton's chagrin evolves into an invitation to be a show contestant. Her best friends and business partners, Jenna Rawley and Chloe Nelson convince her to do it. The publicity and notoriety alone could put their almost defunct restaurant on the map and move them into profitability. Aston loves her friends and restaurant dearly, so she reluctantly agrees to be a show contestant.

One of the judges and show host is extremely talented executive chef Ty Cates. When Ashton and Ty meet for the first time there is instant chemistry and sparks ignite. Although the contestants and judges are not permitted to fraternize, Ashton and Ty can't help themselves. Within a very short period of time, they fall in love. Their secret affair can ruin both of their careers and futures, but their feelings for each other supersede reality.

The antics and actions of the contestants, judges, producers and family members are both funny and jaw-dropping wicked. Each character has their own distinctive personality and ability to shine in their own right.

If you want to read a top-notch sexy romance, this book should not be missed.

4.5 Hot Heat Stars!

I’m not much of a cook, I leave that to my husband, but I have always enjoyed watching Food Network and eating new things. Robbie Terman’s Some Like It Spicy was a book version of those things to me and so much more!
Ashton Grey is a strong, slightly angry, defensive, and determined chef, but she has one problem: her restaurant is failing and she’s about to be forced into closing. This would be an ultimate failure on more levels that just her restaurant being unsuccessful. She would be failing her best friends and partners, her parents would be disappointed and ashamed, and this is all she has to live for. After a massive tantrum with a customer, Ashton is approached to be on a cooking competition show, The Next Celebrity Chef. She hates being critiqued and lashes out on those who do it and dreads having to do this show, but it’s her only shot at saving her restaurant.
In walks Ty Cates, the shows host and sexy celebrity chef. Ashton swoons, like every other woman who lays eyes on him, but she can’t lose her focus over him. However, the street seems to run both ways and Ty is doing everything he can to be alone with Ashton, even though he has signed a contract that means legally he can’t have any relationship with contestants. But they can sneak around and hide things, right?
Some Like It Spicy has an incredible amount of layers that are woven so well into this story, with writing that had me laughing and cringing and on the edge of my seat. I read this in one day, refusing to put it down until I knew what would happen between Ty and Ashton.

(I received an ARC for my review and this is my honest-to-goodness, straight from the heart review!)

Definitely the perfect recipe for romance!

LOVED this book…so much so, that I read it in one sitting. Seriously…still smiling about sexy celebrity Chef, Ty Cates. He is, as the author puts it, what the love child of Bobby Flay and Rocco DiSpirito would look like. Yum! Looks aren’t everything though. Not to worry, he’s got the whole Southern charm going for him, too! What makes the story so great, IMHO, is when he’s paired up with Chef Ashton Grey. “Scarlett O’Hara, Ashton was not. She epitomized a lady of the North.” (pg 134 ). I love that she’s feisty and has managed to overcome her upbringing to do what she loves…cook comfort food! Put these two in the kitchen (I was totally jealous when she earned a private cooking lesson!) and you’ve got instant heat!
This story went way beyond satisfying. The set-up of The Next Celebrity Chef challenges, the chemistry between Ty and Ashton, and the way they dealt with their issues, all left me wishing their story could go on forever. The other characters in the book were engaging and I found myself wanting to know what happens to the other chefs after the competition. I loved Duffy and Jolene! Oh…and throw in some great food! I swear, I could smell what they were cooking!
My favorite quote from the book:
“Go to sleep,” he whispered. He wrapped his arms around her and let her use him as a body pillow. “I’ll keep you safe.” (pg 200) Cue the swooning and happy tears!
I’m thrilled that I had the chance to read and review a “new to me” author. I’ll definitely be looking for more of Robbie Terman’s work in the future!

I was a little hesitant when I started Some Like It Spicy because I'd read quite a few chef themed books lately but I'm glad I read this one because this one was really different.

The first chapter may have been my favorite. It starts out with Ashton doing what she loves most cooking for her nearly empty restaurant. She knows the place is failing. She just doesn't know how to fix it. The scene that became her "audition tape" had me rolling on the floor laughing! The woman who recorded it with her cell phone turns out to be a casting director for "The Next Celebrity Chef" reality show. The show would bring publicity they can't afford.

Next we meet chef Ty Cates, celebrity chef. He enjoyed the celebrity chef status in the beginning but is tired of living the playboy life and wants to go back to cooking.

I liked the fact that it was the guy who was doing the pursuing in this. Sure Ashton was swooning over him, but unlike a lot of other books it was the hero that wanted something more than a fling. The hilarity of the contest just added to everything.

Received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

Ashton Grey is a a chef/owner of a struggling Chicago restaurant but one incident in her own restaurant, lead her to appear on reality TV cooking show. Ty Cates is a Head Judge on the show and a celebrity chef himself. A chance meeting before the show starts between Ashton and Ty, starts a flame that would scorch the finest piece of meat. It's against the rules for a Judge and a contestant to mix. So what will they do?

Will it make for an amazing recipe for life or will it be complete disaster? Will Ashton be able to save her restaurant? Will she get burned in the process? Will Ty be able to resist the temptation, to taste Ashton's delights?

Readers that love cooking, hot chefs, Reality TV and sizzling chemistry will love this book. Well worth the read if you looking for a sweet and funny romantic story.

I watched a few reality shows in my spare time and this gives me a dose of that in a book. Ashton is partners in a restaurant in Chicago which isn't doing much business. A video recording of Ashton getting upset with a customer gets leaked to producers of a reality TV chef show. Ashton's fiery attitude gets her booked and she agrees to do it for the money and attention it will bring her failing restaurant. Ty Cates is the host and one of the three judges of the TV show. Ty has an immediate attraction to Ashton but flirting with a contestant is off limits. Will heat continue in and out of the kitchen for Ty and Ashton? If you love reality kitchen shows this is right up your alley. I loved their relationship and chemistry. I was given a copy of this book by Entangled Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

Ashton Grey’s restaurant Sweet Home doesn't have much time before it goes under unless Ashton can make a name for herself. What better way than as a contestant on a reality cooking show. What she doesn't count on is Celebrity Chef and show judge Ty Cates heating things up in the kitchen and the Wreck room and the bedroom and the woods. Can Ashton keep her head, win the contest, save her restaurant, and maybe fall in love?
Fans of reality shows will get a kick out of this sweet and funny story. Ashton and Ty steam up the pages and the supporting cast is icing on the cake. Fans of the Rising Star Chef Series by Louisa Edwards are sure to get a kick out of Some Like It Spicy.

Ashton Grey needs money and fast. Her restaurant, Sweet Home, is on the verge of shutting down. To avoid that she is cast into a chef reality show to win money except it's all on the line when she gets involved with head judge, Ty Cates. Some Like It Spicy was a cute read. It made me think of MasterChef reality show but behind the scenes romance going on! It was a great read with with a forbidden romance and also had some deeper issues with our heroine having to deal with her constantly disapproving father. Great summer book, you will not regret buying!

I loved this book so much I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down! I laughed, cried and believed in love at first sight. I wouldn't change a thing about the book. Immediately after reading it I went online to find a recipe for lobster mac and cheese and then drove to the store at 3 in the morning and made it for breakfast. After breakfast I read it again! I have only re-read a couple of books. This book is that great!

Her bio says she wants to make her readers cry a bit and laugh as well, and she definitely achieved it. I really related to Ashton because of her low self-esteem. I'm sure I'm not alone in never quite feeling good enough and hungrily seeking praise for my work. And the food...! I'm hoping to find some of those recipes, especially the capers. Yum! Ty was the perfect hero for Ashton and their love scenes were exactly what the title suggests: spicy!

Loved their story! I literally laughed out loud, ran away when Ashton did or said something embarrassing and cried when it seemed things wouldn't work out for them. Altogether a great story!
