PRAISE FOR TRINITY
'Sex and scandal abound in this full-throttle thrill-ride through the hidden lives of the mega-rich. Trinity sizzles with bitchery, bling and betrayal, and is the perfect accompaniment to your sunlounger this summer' VICTORIA FOX, author of Wicked Ambition, Temptation Island and Hollywood Sinners
'Trinity is so much fun. A great summer bonkbuster' TASMINA PERRY, author of Private Lives, Kiss Heaven Goodbye, Perfect Strangers
'Opening Trinity is like biting into a very indulgent, rich, rare chocolate, it's naughty but my word you enjoy every bite. Each chapter serves a delicious helping of glamour, secrets, and intrigue. It really is like reading into the secret life behind the glamorous exterior of starlets, the “well connected” and their families. I love the diverse backdrops of Hollywood, England, new money and reality TV. Each of the three main characters are so brilliantly bought to life and anyone who reads this story will know or identify with the different aspects of these fabulous women - so real and rounded to the point that I wonder if Nigel has drawn from life experience and knowledge. It's been a while since I have gasped as I come to the end of page or chapter in a book but this is exactly what I did many times throughout Trinity. I thoroughly blame Nigel May for my lack of sleep while delving into the lives of Anoushka, Evie and Regan. It’s also rare that a book can make you laugh out loud but Trinity did just this. I adore Nigel’s stream of conscious writing mixed with a wicked humour throughout every single page.' GENEVIEVE NI REAMOINN, TV Presenter and Journalist
Nigel May has been described as "the UK's male Jackie Collins" and is an author, TV host and journalist. His three fiction novels have all been published by Bookouture.
His first glam fiction novel was TRINITY, an action-packed blockbuster (or bonkbuster) about the lives of the rich and famous. Glamour, beauty, fame and celebrity mix with murder, intrigue and danger to create an explosive novel which gained incredible reviews and fans across the globe. His follow-up was the glitz-meets-grit whodunit ADDICTED which was also a huge success and once again dived into the diamond-dipped world of the mega-rich but showed that all of the money and fame in the world do not always make for a happy ending. His third novel SCANDALOUS LIES is steeped in secrets, sin, sex and scandal and takes readers around the world as a mysterious celebrity disappearance is investigated. His books have been Amazon best sellers, read by celebrities and fellow authors alike, and have proved that a man can successfully write in a 'bonkbuster world' that has always been a strongly female domain.
Nigel was the only male writer amongst 44 authors featured in the chart-topping, beach-read anthology of short-stories SUNLOUNGER. He also contributed a short story to SUNLOUNGER 2.
On television he regularly presents on UK shopping channels where he has built up a substantial following. He has also featured on Channel 4, C5, ITV and broadcast live from America. He is also one of the UK's most popular craft personalities, having launched his own successful range, A-May-Zing.
As a writer he has written for many of the UK's most successful magazines and newspapers, specialising in showbiz and celebrity, as well as writing on subjects ranging from relationships through to exotic travel.
I only discovered this book as I follow the author on Twitter. Nigel May is a terrific presenter on Create and Craft TV and this is his debut novel. I am not a lover of the chick lit genre but this publication had me intrigued by what this novel was like AND I like to support people I like.
This book is terrific. It has a great set of strong characters who pull no punches and Nigel brings his expert career knowledge into play during this rip-roaring read. Strong female characters, strong male characters and a plot which you can believe in. You would NOT expect this from a male author would you. I laughed at some points and I stunned at others. The book is fast paced, twisting and turning, and never-failing to keep this reader hooked. It takes quite a lot to keep me reading on and on and I was sad when I came to the end (and I laughed at the ending, really was quite unexpected and funny in a way). I am not sure whether Nigel can follow on with these characters but if he can write another novel with them I shall be there pre ordering. I am sure one of the characters in this novel can star in their own novel. One thing is for sure, I do NOT want Nigel to stop writing, he is a refreshing new author that I would like to read more from!!
now i'm all for a bit of trash, it's great for cleansing the grey matter. but this was just TRASH!! dreadful book. hope the author is ashamed of themselves.
On the surface, this is a book I would not normally read. However, after enjoying watching Nigel May on TV for several years I thought I would give this debut novel a shot. I wasn't disappointed!
Strong lead characters, with moments of laugh out loud hilarity coupled with moments of shock and sadness this book slowly gripped me more and more to the point were I couldn't put it down until I knew what was going to be the fate of the three leading ladies.
Personally, I can't wait for Nigel May's next novel!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to listen to this audio book in return for an honest review. Synopsis When friends become enemies there are no rules…

From fashionable London to stunning Venice and glitzy LA, Trinity takes you into a glamorous and thrilling world you won’t want to leave.
Ok, first things first, I actually had to double check that the author was male. A distinct Jackie Collins feel from this one. Absolute trash of the best kind from start to finish. I don’t usually go for this kind of novel, a little predictable for a rompathon (which isn’t exactly a shock) I rolled my eyes so hard they almost fell out at the use of the p word. No not p for prude that’s clearly me. Fairly good story line, I’m sure if this is your kind of novel it’s a winner!
They are three friends. Evie Merchant, she’s an actress. However, she still yet to find love and she longs to win an Oscar. Regan Phoenix. She is the daughter of a celebrity however she’s had a loveless upbringing. She is known for drinking and drugs for quick liaisons. All she wants to do is reinventing life. Anoushka Silvers, she works for her father a paper magnet, she is the gossip queen columnist. However, her brother is the only child her father recognises. And he lets her know it.
Together they make the Trinity. Together they are a force to be reckoned with. Strong bonds make sure they stick together. But is there nothing that will test their friendship?
Nigel May feels like the new Jackie Collins. Glitzy lives and a smattering of sex thrown in to give a fantastic holiday read.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to hear an ARC
If there is one thing that never fails me about Nigel May books it’s the tangled web he manages to weave. Every single time the characters end up intersecting and I’m left going “but how?!”
Trinity wasn’t my favorite of his but still has me asking that question. The dynamic trio of friends is trying to navigate stardom and maintain their friendship. Throughout the book we see their naive broken hearts, tragic family relationships, and intimate secrets revealed. If you have a group of girlfriends, you’ll definitely understand this one.
Thanks to NetGalley for access to this audiobook. I thought the narrator did a great job.
Accurate description, full of sexy scandal & perfect for a holiday read
I wasn't disappointed, the characters were likeable, the world of Hollywood was really well written. Reminded me of Jackie Collins in parts. A little gem & I'll be reading more of Nigel May. Definitely liking your style...
I've just re-read this after originally reading it a few years ago, before I 'discovered' what a fantastic author he is. I absolutely loved it. If you like a Jackie Collins book give him a try, you won't be disappointed!!
Addictive page turner, I was hooked from page one. Gripping story line with a few fab twists that you don't see coming. 5 stars for Nigel May (my new favourite author).
Jackie Collins can rest easy in her grave, Nigel May won’t be taking her ‘Queen of the Blockbuster’ crown anytime soon!! Shoddy weak storylines, poorly written characters, and, because I listened to the audiobook - annoying voices that didn’t suit the characters at all.
Such dirty, raunchy fun! Builds slow but with enough interest to keep you attentive & then takes off! Writing has levels upon levels of goodness to enjoy.
This book wasn't for me. It felt like a cheesy soap opera from the 80's without the shoulder pads. The characters are all over the top and very immature.
I was lucky enough to win a copy of this so it didn't sit around on my Kindle for months before I got round to it as free downloads usually do ! It is a very "girly" type of story, not for the men, really, yet written by a man which I found surprising. It brings to mind the Jackie Collins books I used to read more of in my twenties. After a while I got a little bored with them all being quite samey so tend to read murder 'n' mayhem more often nowadays. It's nice to have a bit of frothy escapism at times, though, to keep my hand in !! The Trinity of Regan, Evie and Nush were interesting as a lot of the time they weren't very sympathetic characters. Nobody in the story seemed happy to be faithful either, it seemed, which is quite sad and a jaded way of looking at things, really. Of the trio I probably liked Evie the most. She seemed the most grounded and least promiscuous of the lot of them. He used a couple of characters I thought he sailed pretty close to the wind with as they were easily recognised as current celebrities. I was disappointed at the mistakes in it, though. Some were howlers, I thought. It's an e-book staple these days to happen upon apostrophe errors but there were a lot of spelling errors in this as well. A couple of times women used instead of woman, rites instead of rights, flare instead of flair, bearing and not baring, wrack and not rack and VERY annoyingly after I'd congratulated him to myself on knowing the difference between poring and pouring because he got it right, he suddenly got it wrong 2 or 3 times !! There were quite a few places where commas were needed, too. "I can't lie Stafford" and "There's no creepy-crawly honey" and "Sorry about this Nush". They all read wrong without them. There were some very funny lines in it at times which I liked. It would have been 4 stars if not for the mistakes.
Trinity was probably one of the most addicting reads for me so far this year–it was like watching your favourite soap opera and reality show rolled into one glittering ball of insane goodness. With more twists and turns than the most memorable episodes of The Young and the Restless and As the World Turns combined, Nigel May’s Trinity had me scandalised and thoroughly entertained from the first to the last page. I can definitely see why Trinity appeals to fans of Victoria Fox and Tasmina Perry and indeed the authors themselves!
May’s novel features a host of intriguingly sinful characters–both the main and secondary characters were brilliantly written. I actually found myself enjoying some of the stories of the supporting characters more than anything else, particularly that of Regan’s mother, Montana. I just found her (and Lawrence!) to be such horrible people that I couldn’t get enough of them. Funny how that works.
There’s a fair bit of sex in Trinity but it’s not over the top and on every other page. It’s realistic without losing its sexiness–always good! I wasn’t cringing at the couplings and dirty talk–not an easy feat. And a bonkbuster written by a man! Revolutionary!
My only issue was that there were a few spelling/grammatical errors that were overlooked. I understand that May is now going to correct these errors in the Kindle version; at the end of the day the story and characters were so enjoyable that the mistakes didn’t detract from the book. I’m eager to see what May comes up with next.
If you like your fiction sexy, sweaty and full of intrigue, Trinity is definitely the book for you this summer.
The Trinity...three women who formed a life long bond at high school. Each with a disjointed family background, their bond makes these women a force to be reckoned with. Evie, actress, is the gentler of the women. Nush, from a privileged background, is a reporter for her father's tabloid paper. She will go to any lengthy to get that headline. Reagan, is a daughter in the shadow of her actress mother, Montana, who abandoned her as a young child.
This novel reminds me of Jackie Collins novels with a modern twist. Amongst the sex, scandal and jet setting the author goes a little deeper into the personalities and feelings of the characters.
There were some secrets I had guessed, but was eager to see them revealed , but also some surprises. Would love to see another like this from this author.
Wow, what an amazing book this was, loved it from start to finish, was such an addictive read. the story never stopped, and you never knew what was going to happen next.
The storyline is cleverly done and the characters are well thought out, some you wnat to love and some you wnat to hate and just punch in the face lol. I won't mention names as wouldn't want to ruin the book for anyone.
It was the first book of Nigel May's that I had read and it certainly won't be the last. I'm already looking forward to reading his other books.
If you love books by Tasmina Perry, Jackie Collins, Rebecca Chance, Louise Bagshawe or Tilly Bagshawe, then you should definately give Nigel May's books ago as you won't be disapointed.
I am becoming a lover of this author's books, and really enjoyed this one.
There are a lot of twists and turns throughout, various plot lines played out which eventually start to weave their way together. I loved the characters of the three main female characters the most. Each one is described as a strong woman in their own rights, and seeing how these lives broke apart as secrets begin coming out was very well done.
This is the story of three sexy, beautiful girls who have been friends since childhood. The book has got a bit of everything in it. There's intrigue, murder, sex and glamour. Nigel May has the ability to describe the characters in such a way that we can picture them and actually care what happens to them.
The perfect book for reading on a beach with a long, cold drink.
A trio of friends who used to be the best of friends, and now their lives are moving in different directions. They are all rich to an extent and are known people, but yet none of them are truly happy. This is another fabulous sexy scandalous story, but the king of bonkbusters. Some cracking and memorable characters, and with some fantastic story telling, this was perfect poolside reading.
It was hard to put the book down, it captivates you from the very beginning. I did figure out who the killer was not long after the second murder, but it didn't hinder or spoil the rest of the book for me.
I am very surprised a man is the author of this delightfully funny and gloriously detailed look into the outrageous life of three women. I enjoyed every last word.
Pure escapism with great strong characters. Really liked the story and kept me entertained from start to finish. Will definitely read more by this author.
Working my way through this authors books and so far loved every one. As a fan of the late great Jackie Collins these are up there with her! My guilty secret.
It was an entertaining read. I actually enjoyed reading about the Trinity, and wanted to see where the story would take me. Looking forward to the next adventure
