Durham Wolves #2

Fire in the Smokies

Rate this book
"His commands ignite flames in her that rival any forest fire..."

When Jaxon Durham isn't raising thoroughbreds with his brothers, he's using his heightened senses to search for missing hikers in the Smokies. This time the call is for a firefighter gone missing on the front lines.

In his wolf form, he's the first to track the firefighter to a cave, but he's stopped cold by a stunning realization-it's his mate. To his relief, the body covered in fireproof gear is female.

Brianna White can't decide if she's died and gone to heaven, or unconscious and having a delicious dream, when the wolf standing before her shifts into a naked man. Either way, she can't resist the urge to go along for the ride. She never expected to fall so instantly, and so hard, for the sexy hunk.

But an old enemy is lurking beyond the walls of their refuge. The clock is ticking while Jaxon races to evade the deadly threat, even deadlier flames, and overcome the stubborn will of a woman who's not sure she's ready to give up life as she knew it.

Warning: Dark, sexy wolves in the Appalachians evoke steaming sex in a cave, light bondage and dominance, various plugs and vibrators, and an interesting masturbation chamber...

This continued right where Rescue in the Smokies ended. This time a firefighter (Bri) got pinned down fighting a forest fire and sought shelter in a cave. Jax found her, and was relieved to find that Bri was in fact a female, since she was his mate. This was hard to put down! Good story and very steamy! Love that Bri is independent, and not a pushover where her career is concerned. Looking forward to reading the next one, can't wait to meet Micah's mate. And to find out what's going to happen with the vamp!

I like the premise of the series, and I read the first one, but I was looking for more storyline. It did not have it. There was very little interaction between the brothers or anyone else in the book. It was all about Jaxon and Brianna having sex within minutes after Jaxon saved her. The entire book was more about graphic sex. I thought I would at least give this one a try. Sorry, I do not like to give bad reviews. 2 stars for author's work and effort.

Jax and Bri are great characters, this book was on fire! Good story line and defiantly a lot like the first book but I still couldn't put it down. If you like short hot sexy reads I highly recommend this series! I can't wait to read Micah's story next.

Fire in the Smokies (Durham Wolves Book 2) is the highly enjoyable story of Jaxon and Brianna. There is no romance for them, no long talks about what Jaxon and his brothers are, and no time for Brianna to fully understand what mating with Jaxon means for her life.

Jaxon and Brianna story is fast-paced and hot as hell! Brianna is a firefighter that gets trapped in a cave when the fire that is raging in the Smokies shifts. Jaxon is the one to find her and in a split second realizes that Brianna is his mate. There is no time for formalities as the hideous Keeton McKinney once again appears to wreak havoc for the brothers.

This story is full of action, lust, passion, loyalty…oh and a bit of dominance! The Durham Wolves series is a must read! Jaxon quickly became my favorite wolf!

Jaxon likes to be dominate but has met his mate I mean match with Brianna who is a firefighter no less and takes her job seriously. I love how she is a strong women and not a walk over, but also how she is happy for to let Jaxon dominate her in the bedroom. There are some nail biting close calls with Keeton who is getting more aggressive with his need to be rid of the Durham brothers and can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book to provide an honest review.

Second book in this series & while I had some issues with the story, overall I still really enjoyed it. I liked the humour that is woven through the story but didn't particularly like the way that Brianna was almost tricked into the relationship. I get that it's a series but I would have liked a bit more of the suspense angle & a bit less of the sex. Overall though, I did enjoy it & would continue to recommend this author.

Jaxon gave his brother such crap when Serg mated w/ Jules. *grin* And then he meets his mate, Brianna. Their chemistry is instant, of course, but she gives him a run for his money - she's not quite so submissive outside the "bedroom." : ) AND, his first reaction upon finding his mate trapped by the wildfire is hilarious. I won't spoil it - you really need to read it! ; )

Their story is quick, sweet & EXTRA STEAMY. : )

Fantastic story.

Really enjoyed this book. Just as great 👍 as the first book in this series was. It is so cute how all three brothers were not going to have a mate. Boy were they surprised.

Better than the first book, as there are only 3 in the series I might read the 3rd in the near future, but I'm looking for a really good shifter series, so I might just move on.

Title: Fire In The Smokies

Series: Durham Wolves Book #2

Author: Becca Jameson

Genre: Paranormal, Romance

Blurb: When Jaxon Durham isn’t raising thoroughbreds with his brothers, he’s using his heightened senses to search for missing hikers in the Smokies. This time the call is for a firefighter gone missing on the front lines.

In his wolf form, he’s the first to track the firefighter to a cave, but he’s stopped cold by a stunning realization—it’s his mate. To his relief, the body covered in fireproof gear is female.

Brianna White can’t decide if she’s died and gone to heaven, or unconscious and having a delicious dream, when the wolf standing before her shifts into a naked man. But an old enemy is lurking beyond the walls of their refuge. The clock is ticking while Jaxon races to evade the deadly threat, even deadlier flames, and overcome the stubborn will of a woman who’s not sure she’s ready to give up life as she knew it.

Warning: Dark, sexy wolves in the Appalachians evoke steaming sex in a cave, light bondage and dominance, various plugs and vibrators, and an interesting masturbation chamber…

Thoughts: I was really excited to read this book, and from the beginning it really reeled me in. The story line was good, and the sex scenes were erotic and HOT! But all the important stuff seemed to happen in the first few chapters, and it seemed to dwindle a little after that - it seemed a bit of a struggle to keep the book going. They went from meeting to mating for life in the span of a day, and I wish it had been a bit more drawn out. I also thought that Brianna seemed to accept everything that Jax said completely, no matter how wild and outrageous it sounded. She just bought into it. The main guy was a bit standard, nothing special, nothing that added a sense of added danger to the storyline - he mostly just seemed like a bothersome fly in the scheme of things. Good, but not one of the better ones out there.

••••••••••••••
Ms. Becca's Smokie Mountain saga continues with another brother. There wasn't as much action as in the first book but still there was action and it was good I guess the old saying quality instead of quantity. All in all this was a very good book and I think everyone should read it.
Brianna White is a human firefighter she loves her job, working so hard to be part of the crew and earn there respect. The woods were on fire her crew responded because of the wind she was separated having to run to a cave. Brianna must have died from smoke inhalation why else did she see a wolf turn into a man, on top of that a naked Adonis.
Jaxon Durham is a Red Wolf Shifter with his brothers Micah and Sergius, they live on farm outside Pigeon Forge in the Smoky Mountains raising thoroughbred horses. Wolves are good trackers so they helped the local sheriff find missing people. Plus the sheriff also knows they are wolf shifters which is a good thing for both of them. The fire in the woods is getting intense, as they watch it they get a call from the sheriff it's a 10 alarm fire level. With the winds shifting a firefighter was separated from the rest and is now missing. All three brothers took off Jaxon was the lucky wolf or was he? The intoxicating smell told him he found his mate who was a firefighter, how could that be a male mate?
Keeton McKinney is a Powerful Vampire who is tired of sharing his land with the wolves. The last confrontation with them he took off running but he's back with a vengeance.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Fire in the Smokies

Jaxon is one of 3 brothers. All werewolves, all living and working together, and all waiting for the perfect someone. Serigus the eldest found his mate and also found a vampire hunting in the woods they protect. Jaxon and the brothers get a call, a firefighter has been missing. Now on a search and resuce mission in the middle of a huge fire engulfing the mountain side, Jaxon finds more than a fire along with a danger from their past that wants nothing more than to destroy the brothers once and for all.

This is book 2 of the Durhan wolves series. I enjoyed the book but it felt like only part of a book. I think it is just because it is part 2 of a series. I am really looking forward to book 3 to see how things finially come together. Good read, but read in order. Thanks Becca for book 2 hoping you will send me book 3. 4satrs...some pretty Hot adult scenes and who doesn't love a hot werewolf!

LOVED Jaxon & Brianna! They were two witty, caring people apart but together they were on fire! (hahaha) Couldn't resist. But really - the two of them was amazing.

I enjoyed the first book. I really liked this book. And I can't wait to dive even further into the last book!

I have yet to read (and am sure never will) a Becca jameson book I haven't enjoyed the characters, the setting, the hoops she puts them through and the way she finishes them. My only complaint might be that some are too short - she always leaves me wanting more!

This is fun because it's fated mate and the hero sniffs the heroine out in a cave - where much naughtiness happens. The sex was fun and their relationship is fun. Although I wish we could have gotten to know them a bit better - the story seemed rushed.

This is the second book in the Durham Wolves series. Three brothers live in solitude on a ranch. They have the best rescue record in their area of the Smokies. They are called upon to find a lost firefighter. They are racing against time and a vampire?
This is Jaxon turn to find a lost person. He enters a cave and scent his mate, Oh boy! Is his mate a guy? No the scent and sound are to feminine.
Brianna has sought shelter from the fire in a cave never thinking a wolf would join her? Could the smoke be finally getting to her? Is she going to die in this cave?
I give this hot story 5 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

"Not going to find a mate", just happened to Jaxson, male or female is his question. Enter the vampire, again. Not much lag between book one and this one. Another nice easy read. Honest review for a free copy supplied by author.
