But when Belle Manikas, his beautiful neighbor, finds herself at the mercy of a violent stalker Grant sees it as his duty to protect her. Even though he knows he'd never have a chance with her-not with his disfigurement-he'll do anything to keep her safe.
Fatal Deception
Mara Caldwell is a woman with a dark past. She made a clean break from her old life, never imagining her secrets could come back to haunt her. When an old enemy surfaces and threatens the world she's created for herself Mara is prepared to give up everything, including the husband she loves if it will keep him safe.
Harrison knew his wife had secrets when he married her, but when he discovers the truth, it's far worse than he imagined. He's determined to protect her from a deadly enemy who wants to destroy her, but her lack of faith in him infuriates and wounds him. They must work together to keep her safe, but the man they're up against seeks to destroy everything they've built together. Including their lives.
Katie Reus® is the USA Today bestselling author of the Endgame trilogy, the MacArthur Family series and the Deadly Ops series. She fell in love with romance at a young age thanks to books she pilfered from her mom's stash. Years later she loves reading romance almost as much as she loves writing it. However, she didn't always know she wanted to be a writer. After changing majors many times, she finally graduated with a degree in psychology. Not long after that she discovered a new love. Writing. She now spends her days writing paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense.
Romantic suspence. Three brothers ex-military or spooks with loads of special training are part of an elite family owned security firm. Those resources come in handy as the women they pursue & claim each fall victim to psychopaths who threaten the women, family and friends in their sick games of manipulation.
The men are fierce, loyal, love/protect their women & the women are smart & resourceful. Anyone trying to get between them faces a small army. Three exciting adventures.
I really enjoyed all 3 books in the set. My only complaint is that they are short stories that had the ablity to be fleshed out more and be full length novels. (heck if purchased separate they cost as much as a full length book not novelas they are around 3$ each right now)
This is book is three novellas, though longer novellas, or possibly shorter novels. I just finished the first of the three, but loved it and wanted to leave a review for No One To Trust. This was just what I like: a thrilling suspense novel with a couple who had actual chemistry. Lizzy's character was well-drawn, flaws and all. It was a little annoying how much she let herself be used by her brother, but it felt very real. I mean, who doesn't know someone like that? I thought the writing was great and the pace kept me turning pages until way too late last night. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next two stories in this book and I'm adding Volume 2 to my to-buy list. UPDATE: I finished the second novella in the book. It was another fast-paced story with interesting characters. I loved that Bella was well-adjusted and happy and didn't have a troubled past she was still dealing with. Of course, Grant had issues, but it was nice that it wasn't overplayed. Overall, another nice romantic suspense story and I'm looking forward to the third one in the book. * A note: I won this book through a GoodReads contest. I'm very glad that I did. I'd be leaving the same review if I hadn't gotten the free copy.
Review: RED STONE SECURITY SERIES BOX SET: VOLUME 1 by Katie Reus http://wp.me/p3d0RZ-1mO Publication Date: October 23, 2012 Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/Donna Rated: 4 Stars
REVIEW: I picked this set up to read while camping and really liked it. Hot sex and dangerous situations. Each story is a quick little read but still has enough information to make the story flow. I was glad that each story was different and I never felt it got monotonous. I would have liked to see it all fleshed out more in a full length novel but I have no complaints and plan to pick up Volume II and see what happens with the brothers next.
three short stories three hot brothers three sexy women. first story had lots of twists and turns kept me guessing and I didn't expect what happened, second story the drama came from the brother and was very good as well, the third book lots of sex and was more obvious on the plot line, but still a good read I get a lot of my books free or when they are discounted I will be adding volume two to my wish list in the hopes it goes on sale too.
I truly enjoyed reading all three of these books. I wouldn't have minded if they were all longer though. That would be my only complaint. And even that isn't a real complaint, just a lil bit of a grumble. :)
I'm rating each story individually...but I liked all three of them. I was entertained and I found the brothers to be incredibly sexy.
This boxed set is filled with suspense, passion & love. All three books are page-turners that will keep you reading until the end. The plots are all pretty close to the same with a woman in trouble, a man that comes to the rescue (except the last book), and the leading man making it his priority to protect her. Great entertainment for a rainy afternoon.
I really enjoyed all 3 if these books. I like the short stories. It was a nice break from long books. I feel like I really got to know the individuals. Well done Katie. Now I'm gonna read volume 2. :)
I enjoyed all three books in the volume: No One To Trust / Danger Next Door / Fatal Deception. I will continue to read the Red Stone Security series and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense and alpha males.
I enjoyed reading this series. I have to admit, I did like the second book the best. The first and third book had a few predictable or unbelievable aspects to it. Overall I really enjoyed all three stories and recommend them to anyone.
I really like these stories because for short stories they don't make it seem like your missing parts of the plot. Each one can be read pretty much as a stand alone story. That takes real writing talent to be able to do that.
These three books were captivating. Are in men Porter, Grant and Harrison loving strong women Lizzy, Belle and Mara. There couples who overcame odds and still found love 💘.
This was an easy, fun read and exactly as I like it: hot, sexy boys, strong, smart girls, a bit of danger and adventure, lot's of romance and loving. Looking forward to volume 2.
All 3 are pretty good, my favorite is Danger next door. Katie shows how the hero's and leading lady both over come struggles, insecurities, and Crazy Psyco Bad guys.
No.One.To.Trust She’s young, looking for the good in people especially her brother Benny. Calling her from the drug cartel house, beaten and semi conscious The danger she got into going inside, and continues to do so. The head of the cartel wants a trophy wife, seeing her now, and wants When will she start being truthful of what she knows. Overall good plot, she lacked in maturity. Danger Next Door Getting away from her big family to having a home of her own. Before she even got furniture she is attacked. Grant had been a cop, now hiding from the vast Injury’s he had gotten. Protection for her brought him out of his shell. Overall the plot was good, too much sex was the drawback. Fatal Deception A love so strong, she didn’t want to lose, so kept her past hidden. Until he was hunting her.she was willing to do what was needed to save her husband. When he finds out, he knew she had secrets, these were worse then he imagined. Who could win, the outcome was deadly, for a person or their marriage.
NO ONE TO TRUST: I finished this book in a few hours I couldn't put it down. I loved everything about this book the hot & steamy scenes, the characters, and the action. I felt sorry for Elizabeth because she loves her brother & I felt like he used her. I loved how Porter didn't let Elizabeth push him away a second time. DANGER NEXT DOOR 🚪: I finished this book in a few hours I couldn't put it down. I loved the everything about this book. I loved how Grant & Belle showed each other to stop using the scars as a barrier to avoid falling in love. This is the first cat & mouse romance I read. FATAL DECEPTION: First off I wanna say I love Katie Reus books. I read the other Red Stone Security books so I had to read this one. My favorite part of the story is when Mara kicked the guys butt. I liked that Mara & her husband stayed together. The storyline was okay but the other 2 books are my favorite.
One of the things I liked about these stories was the fast pace with many twists and turns along the way. And I loved that the heroes were so capable and could handle terrifying but exciting situations. In each of these stories, the men were determined to save/protect the women that were important to them. But I especially liked the women. They worked along with the men instead of just being a beautiful woman waiting to be saved.
These steamy romantic suspense stories are full of action and have wonderful characters. They each have good plots and endings. I recommend this set to romantic suspense fans.
Exciting and sensual series about three brothers who own and operate the Redstone Security Corporation and the women they love.
Each story about the Caldwell brothers is somewhat predictable as the particulars differ only due to the wife's and/or girlfriend's stories differ. Three is an awful amount of again predictable sex which while hot, somehow seems to get in the way of the other action!
To me, 2 stars means "it's OK". I skimmed the 1st story, No One To Trust, because Elizabeth is one of those heroines who constantly enables her loser addict brother because of something he did when she was a child to 'save' her. So she thinks she owes him forever, no matter what danger he puts her in. The story, plot, characters, are predictable. I DNF the 2nd story, Danger Next Door, because it was just too silly. DNF Vol 1 - very predictable, all the same, insta-lust/love etc.
