During the last decade the issue of migration has increased in global prominence and has caused controversy among the host countries around the world. Continuing their interdisciplinary approach, editors Catherine Brettell and James Hollifield have included revised essays from the first edition in such fields as anthropology, political science, and history. If you want a broad overview of how a wide range of different disciplines theorize migration, it seems that this book is pretty much the only one out there, or at least the only one that is reasonably up-to-date. Leaves a lot out, but covers a lot of ground.
