Hi I'm Kristy and I live in the U.K. I have always written short stories and poetry. I went to university to study acting which I loved, but my real passion has always been writing. So, now I write the kind of stories I would have wanted to read as a teen. "Kiera's Quest- part one & two," a Middle-grade/ teen fantasy series, is now available on e-book and paperback. If you like shape shifters, magical realms and a chosen one, then this may be for you!
My YA contemporary romance book, "Just Sam," about a young tennis star who loses someone important and has to trust in life and love again, is available on Amazon in print & on Kindle, as is my YA/NA fairy-tale retelling, "Cinderfella." Cinderfella has all roles reversed and is aimed slightly older, as there is a little passion and darkness to this tale, but still keeps the magic of the original.
I also have a YA Paranormal Romance trilogy, 'The Summer Solstice series.' "Summer's End," book one, "Summer's Lost" (2) and "Summer's Time," are all available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited, as are all my titles.
My latest is a Modern day retelling of Romeo and Juliet with an 80's obsessed gymnast and a dyslexic rep, "The Brightest Stars."

I love reading of course. I have lots of new projects in mind, and I'm currently working on a New Adult Contemporary Romance...

Does liking the evil and villainous Witch Queen’s snark and attitude make me crazy? This creature is the foulest of foul, the most devious of the devious and yet, I liked her! Maybe because she truly has a strong will, forceful personality and felt like she jumped off the pages, or maybe because Kristy Brown did such a wonderful job as an author! Kiera’s Quest: Perception is filled with non-stop drama, action and brings fantasy to life for more than just younger readers.

Kiera has stayed in the other realm, trying to figure out what the Witch Queen is up to. She is learning more and more about her family, and the history of her new world. Is it possible the Witch Queen was once a nice Witch? Hard to believe, but life is full of surprises, including the fact that said Queen is nowhere to be found. Has Kiera truly accepted her part in the prophecy? Is she the one to unite the races and bring peace? Not if the queen of mean has anything to say about it, as she raises havoc and chaos on earth. Is a showdown coming? Will it be in the other realm or will it take place on earth? What does Leap Year have to do with it? Magic, mystery, action and a coming of age and grace are all part of this amazing and refreshing “tweenage” read, appropriate for all ages!

Kristy Brown’s gift for storytelling is at its best in Kiera’s Quest: Perception as she fills in more rich detail, adds more magical creatures and “convinces” Kiera to accept the responsibility that has been foretold. There isn’t a character, old or new that doesn’t make their presence a necessary part of this series. From their appearances to their personalities, they feel real, believable and unique. Ms. Brown has cast her own spell on this series, making it mesmerizing, intense and memorable. Feed your imagination and that of a child, share the gift of great reading and a wonderful author who knows how blend fantasy and youth into a perfect example of coming of age and believing in yourself.

I received this copy from Kristy Brown in exchange for my honest review!

All our favorite characters are back in one of the most entertaining series we have read. Perceptions continues right where Sacrifices left off. The Witch Queen is back on Earth pretending to be Kiera. We have to say the Witch Queen is still as evil as before, but with a sense of humor. We actually laughed aloud at some of the things she did. As much as we wanted to hate her a part of us actually started to like her. We hate to take anything away from the main character Kiera, but in this third installment the Witch Queen is the star. Please don't get us wrong, she's still as evil as ever. We also loved the growth in Kiera in this book. She seems to have gotten more confidence in herself. One of the best parts of reading a series is seeing these characters grow up. They really do become part of your family in a way. Kristy Brown does another amazing job filling this book with action. She keeps the readers on their toes as they try to guess what's going to happen next. This book is not predictable at all, in fact many times our guesses were completely wrong. This book will have you laughing, flipping the pages to see what happens next, and cheering for Kiera. We can't wait for the next book. If you haven't checked out this series yet, you must. Trust us, you won't be disappointed.

These are just such a great little series! Why can't there just be....more! Again the author does a great job with keeping you on your toes as we continue with Kiera's story. It picks up right where the last book leaves off and keeps you sucked in till the end, only to find out there will be another book! :)

However I think the author had way to much fun writing the Queen witch part because he was totally awesome! Even though she's evil she was actually really fun to read.

Such great character building in this never ending world of new things (especially a new species) and new perceptions! With each book you get to know and love each character. I think the author does a great job keeping you on the edge of your seat and not wanting the story to end!

Overall I would recommend this series to all ages because it's short, fun, engaging, clean, action packed, with some romance plus humor, you attached to characters and it's just all pure fun!

Perceptions is another great instalment in the ‘Kiera’s Quest’ series and there is no let-up in danger & treachery. Following the events of book 2, the evil Witch Queen is now on Earth and in the guise of Kiera, hell bent on destroying everyone that Kiera loved. Kiera however is stuck in Zakk’s realm as he takes over his mantle as ruler and quickly realises what’s happening when she can’t mentally contact her friends. During one of her explorations of the castle, she stumbles upon a map with a hidden vortex and the only way to get back to her loved ones and knowing Zakk won’t allow her to go, takes it upon herself to go and save the day alone. Along the way she will meet some new friends, realise her status as the ‘chosen one’ is welcome to most races and that there is still good, willing to do the right thing…. But will she make it in time to stop the Witch Queen from causing havoc in her home town?
So, this was a great addition to the series and things are really coming together, I liked the circumstances of this book – Kiera stuck were she is and trying to adjust to life as a princess and prophesised ‘chosen one’… she isn’t comfortable with her status and although the princess tag comes easier, she needs verification of the other so sets out to find out what exactly she is meant to do. Zakk’s protectiveness is amped up another notch too as he attempts to put his kingdom right and watch over a wilful Kiera. Elsewhere, the Witch Queen is having lots of naughty fun in her Kiera disguise, hurting people and plotting her revenge on Kiera. It was quite funny to read about her attempts to ‘be’ Kiera and it was so obvious she wasn’t but the excuses some people will allow for her behaviour were laughable, the things she got away with defy belief and I’m shocked it took so long to realise something was up. Obviously the plot was always headed towards yet another showdown with the Witch Queen but I also liked how Kiera got there, she went on an adventure and met more people/species which opened the world up some more but also showed how a common enemy can unite anyone. I liked the introduction of the new characters, particularly Mason and I’m curious how they will affect the last book. Everything leads up to a showdown and I liked that it happened on Earth, how Kiera’s friends & family needed to make their own discoveries before a resolution could be met and I liked that the story was again action packed & full of danger but still has a few surprises for us, I’m excited for the final book now.

With Perceptions, we continue where we left off in Sacrifices.

Once again we spend exciting times in both worlds.

On earth, Kiera’s best friend Maddy is puzzled by Kiera’s behaviour but puts it down to the explosion.

Even with no power the Witch Queen still manages to do damage, especially when she pairs up with someone!

Back on Zantar, we learn more about the motives behind the Witch Queen’s evil actions and there is lots of adventure.

I loved the quest in this book – in fact, this is my favourite. I thought the idea behind the vortex they’re searching for was fabulous and it ties up with an event on earth.

I really felt as if I was in the Forest of Mattazaran. This quote describes it perfectly:

“No wonder she could hardly see before, the trees reached right into the sky’s stomach and the branches shadowed over her, like the sky was spitting them back out.”

We’re introduced to new species on Zantar. The Capetorads and Hershans are imaginatively created and I adored them.

Back on earth, the Witch Queen works her evil and relationships start to change because of her meddling.

Once again, the characters reflect real life. Looking back from the start of the first book we can see how their relationships are changing and growing in a natural way.

Kiera is much stronger in Perceptions. She’s starting to believe in herself and taking on the mantle of the one who will fulfil the prophecy.

We end on a cliffhanger … and I’m very eager to see where Kiera’s journey will take us next.

Brown is skilled at keeping the action moving and world building. There is so much to love about this series and if fantasy is one of your favourite genres (whether you are a YA reader or an adult), I can only recommend you buy the series for yourself.

I would like to thank the author for providing an ecopy in exchange for an honest review.

Firstly I’d like to thank the author for sending me this eBook to read and give an honest review. I had previously read the first two books in the series and was looking forward to seeing where book three would take me.

It began with the aftermath of events from book two, the drama was still flowing thick and fast so I quickly fell back into the storyline. Something that really stands out about these books is that they are so unpredictable, I tried to guess what would happen next but never got it right, I was definitely kept on my toes.

Following the progress of the characters in both worlds was exciting, I found The Witch Queen’s mischief-making particularly entertaining – this author certainly knows how to write a good villain! Kiera seemed much stronger this time round and I enjoyed seeing the growth in her character, she still had some things to figure out but she did that with much more confidence.

It was good to find out more details about events from the first book, it enabled me to think back to what had happened with fresh eyes and a different view of it all. Once again there were many twists and turns keeping me on the edge of my seat and the introduction of a few new characters added some extra intrigue.

I admit that this wasn’t my favourite from the series so far – book two still holds that title for me. But I will say that the events at the end of this book (which completely shocked me by the way) hint at some exciting scenes to come in book four so I’m very much looking forward to that one!

This was another imaginative and action-packed read from this fab series.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle 18th March 2014 :

RATING: 4 WITCH QUEEN STARS!

The gang are all back in the third installment of the Kiera Quest series.

Perceptions carries on straight from where Sacrifices finished off.

The Witch Queen who was my fave character in this book was quite hilarious with all her snark and ‘deary’ comments.

“Oh keep your bloomers on. It’s not like it’s the end of the world,”the Witch Queen spat, without hesitation. She realised that this could not be Kiera-like behaviour, on seeing all three idiots, with their mouths swinging open.

I am not sure if I would have been fooled by her, but the gang were. The Witch Queen found it simply too hard to behave like a Kiera doppleganger.

I liked watching the ‘real’ Kiera and Zakk on their quest to find and make it through the vortex’s to get back to earth. They were aided by Kristy’s creative fantasy characters, the Capetorads and Mason the duplicating adonis, Hershen.

The shenanigans being played out on earth with witchie poo and her minion came with some laughs.

I think Madam Swift needs a gold star she was the only one who could put two and two together pretty darn quickly.

For all their heroic ways, Daz, Joe and Maddy certainly weren’t switched on when it came to the antics of their so called friend, played by the rather funny, Witch Queen.

This is very much a tween read. A very clean read. The romance is very, very light.

Will Daz and Maddy, Joe and Kiera, Zakk and Alex get a HEA?

Well, I guess you will have to read the fourth and final installment in Kiera’s Quest to find out.

A fun read, filled with Kirsty’s imagination.

I need more! What another fantastic Novella in this series, I seriously can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

Keira's been through hell (literally) and is stuck in another world trying to find her way back home. The Witch Queen has definitely turned this girls life upside down and continues to cause more drama and non stop danger for her. Keira finally starts to believe that she is the "chosen one" the one person who can bring peace to all the people and stop the evil witch queen from totally destroying everything, including earth. For 120 or so pages you're sucked into a whirlwind adventure, one you'll never get tired of.

I find Kristy writing to be so easy to read, she creates such uniqueness and I love every minute of it. The only downer is that the books a so short lol, I get so sucked in that it feels like it's over in a blink of an eye. I just love the characters to pieces and yes, that includes the evil queen, I love her snippy attitude and how she calls everyone deary, reminds me of Rumple from Once Upon A Time lol.

Well done Kristy, I look forward to the next instalment and cheering Keira along! :-)

These Novella's are just amazing, so why not start at the beginning and experience it all for yourself.....

The rest of the review can be found on The Guide to Good Books on May 10th.

This is the third installment of Kiera's Quest.

CAUTION: THERE MAY BE SPOILERS

After the destruction of the vortex, Kiera is stuck in a foreign world knowing that he friends and family are in the danger of the Witch Queen. While there, she discovers things about herself and her parents, whom she never got to know. She teams up with all the races--human, Zantarian, Narekian, Hershen, and Capetorad--to get herself back home.

This installment has probably been my favorite so far in the series. During its course, it has shown other facets and layers that Kiera, Zakk, and the others have. It's shown their persistence, their bravery, and most of all the care they have for each other as well as others.

First of all, I must say that this author, just in the 3 books of this series, shows such incredible growth as a writer. Maybe because she’s becoming more comfortable with the story telling itself, or maybe because she’s just becoming a great writer (or both). But even more than the previous books, it flowed so well, I flew right through it.

This book in the series was especially cool, because most of the characters start coming into their own. You think they’re one way in the previous books, but you find out how much more there is to each of them in this story, and why they didn’t show that side of themselves in previous stories.

There are also new creatures Kiera meets in this story, which I quickly fell in love with. They were each very unique, and even when saying very little, were very endearing. And that evil witch…she gives you plenty additional reasons to dislike her, but you also get a glimpse of WHY she is what she is.

This is a hard one to write without spoilers, because there is so much that happens that I don’t want to give away, but that is such a good thing. This story is NOT boring, and I very much look forward to the next!

Zakk is king now and Kiera found out she's his sister. The problem is her friends have gone back to Earth without her. Kiera knows the Witch Queen is up to something she's just not sure what it is. She also finds out more about her parents and the Witch Queen before she was an evil being. Zakk does all he can to protect Kiera but she doesn't allow him to do much. Now they must find a way back to Earth and stop the Witch Queen before her next strike. Meanwhile, the Witch Queen thinks her plan is going well.

The writing is flawless as Kristy Brown gives us another fantastic book! This series is one of my favorites and it's because of the writing and the likable characters. You'll enjoy the combination of the other realm and the Earth. Makes you wonder what really happens in the other realm when we aren't looking. Check this out and I assure you you'll be delighted with it!

I found only one issue..lol.. It was too short!! *smile*

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because I love this series! ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

Perceptions is Kristy Brown's second hugely enjoyable follow up to Kiera's Quest and her continuing battles with the evil Witch Queen.

Following on from where Sacrifices ended, Kiera finds herself stranded a long way from home with seemingly no way back, a task which is made much harder as Zakk does his best to protect her. Never one to back down from a challenge, Kiera hears of a chance to return home, and so begins another rip-roaring adventure.

Book three is an excellent addition to a series growing in confidence, fast paced, action packed, and exciting, with just enough fresh faces being introduced to the mix to help keep already established characters on their toes without cluttering up the storyline.

By the end of this instalment Kiera's future may be unclear, but what is clear is that book four promises much much more.

Kristy Brown's 3rd installment in the Kiera's Quest YA series, "Perceptions" does not disappoint. It begins where "Sacrifices" left off. The evil Witch Queen is on earth masked as Kiera and Daz, Joe, Maddy and the rest of the gang don't know she isn't really Kiera.

Meanwhile Kiera and Prince Zakk are making their way to earth to earth through the vortex so that Kiera can rejoin her family and friends. They must travel through a number of realms and they gain helpers along the way. Will they be able to stop the evil Queen's plans to take over and destroy the earth's realm?

Brown continues to deliver an engaging and well-paced story. I loved the addition of the Capetorads and the multiplying Mason. The stories are very fun and engaging and I'll be looking forward to book 4.

I give this book a high recommendation for all audiences.

This, the third book in the series, takes the adventure onwards with incredible amounts of suspense and excitement. There are new characters, new locations, new races and new powers which adds to the richness of the environment that the author has crafted. The pacing is swift and the story strides onwards through resolution of the previous book's enticing ending, many strings character moments through to the unexpected ending giving an indication of the twist that will go on to form book 4 and conclude the series.

Definitely Kiera's most exhilarating adventure yet and a credit to the author's ground work in the previous two entries. Again I can't wait for what's next!!

This book lives up to its excellent predecessors. I've read the first two of the Kiera books and I was on tenterhooks to see what happened next. I wasn't disappointed. Kristy Brown created a nail-biting yet funny scenario with the Witch Queen coming into our world disguised as Kiera, frightening all her friends. Some of the character descriptions are almost like verbal cartoons and they really resonate. She kept up the pace and now I am panting for the final instalment.

I don't think I could ever get bored of these books, they keep the action going and just when u think u can take no more... More happens. Tracking through different worlds is not a new thing but the characters that we meet are. Written in such a way you can read it to your kids, kids of all ages can read it and love the escape and hero element. Yet again another brilliant book! Can't wait for the next one!
