Dear Book,

Either you were very predictable or my thinking cap was hella en pointe during this reading sesh. Which is rare because I'm not really known for my foresight.

---

Dear Cassandra,

My goodness, you are so judgemental. Lighten up and thicken that skin of yours.

---

Dear Logan,

I see you and your kinks.

---

Dear Hilary,

Setting up your bestie with an ex-con for a blind date?

---

Dear Town Men and Women,

Why do you all only seem to think about sex? Are there no TVs in your town?

---

Dear self,

Despite how not your thing this book kinda was, why do you feel the need to continue?

“...you’re important in my life, Cassandra. You’re my best friend.”

Inevitable, was a BIG surprise in a really good way, I just wish I knew there was a book two coming but I don’t regret reading it because it was exactly what I needed at the time. It had the butterfly in your tummy feeling that I love so much and although this book hints at sex but it pretty much ends there, it was all about the sexual tension and the friendship and bond these two built that made the book so worthwhile.

Cassandra walked in on her boyfriend who she thought at the time was “the one” with the town skank, she chose to lick her wounds in private. Living on the outskirts of town, she enjoys the peace and quiet it brings, that is until she is almost run over by her new neighbor, Logan. One look and he sets off all her warning bells and if that wasn’t enough a chat with his sister would be enough to scare her away for good, "Run away! He is a player, a womanizer, a flat-out man whore." Only he’s not alone, he has a little boy, Oliver and he quickly captures her heart.
"Between Oliver and my heart, I would never let either get hurt."

Logan is rich and drop dead gorgeous and he doesn't hesitate to use it to his full advantage, enjoying the women of this little town. He is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it with little to no obstacles to get in his way. Unfortunately for either of them Cassandra sees the parade of women coming in and out of Logan’s home and refuses to be added to list, "I was nothing more than a small-town teacher, searching for my epic love, not just hot sex with a friend." Logan knows he can’t give her what she wants and backs off on trying to seduce her.
“I am not the relationship type of guy, sweetheart. You know this, already.” His voice was gruff and unsteady. I could see what he wanted clear in his eyes, but it wasn’t enough.

“I know, but I’m the relationship type of girl.”

Logan finds that just being around Cassandra calms the restlessness in him. This move was for Logan to spend more time with Oliver but they both found it natural to fold Cassandra into all their plans. He knows deep down that Cassandra deserves someone better than him, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care and he won’t hesitate to come to her aid when she needs him.
“I wanted you that night, Cassandra. More than I’ve ever wanted any woman. But I’m thankful every day that you wouldn’t let me have my way.” He sighed. “We wouldn’t be here today if I had slept with you then.”

Inevitable does end in a cliffhanger and I was desperately trying to find the next book, but unfortunately it won’t be released for a couple months, so I have to result in stalking the authors FB page for teasers and updates … Inevitable was beautifully written making you fall in love with all the characters. I can’t wait to see where the author will take the story in the next book.

Gah how irritating.

He's her hot and handsome neighbour, intent on not letting anyone get close. She's the sweet teacher next door who's been betrayed in lurve before and won't settle for being anyone's sex doll. They spend the entire book dancing around one another, becoming friends, getting closer and closer with some hit and miss chemistry but something always gets in their way. Then it finishes on a cliffhanger ready for the merry old dance to be stretched out into another two books. I'm past caring.

And did someone forget about the dog?

The writing was good, but these overstretched plots aggravate more than entertain me. If you like a nearly but not quite there yet romance and you're willing to buy two further books to get that then you'll probably enjoy this.

Dear Angela Graham (the author of this book),

I’m sorry for this impending drama but after the vulnerable state you've left me with that kind of ending, when will be the next book? Are you now accepting reviewer copy requests? Because I'm telling you, I'm still broken with it all and wanted to have that happy ending. Oh, and please tell us its coming soon.

Love,
Me, that is willing yet unwilling to wait for the next book. ;)

---

As early as now, I'm telling you there would be a definite cliffhanger here, but don’t let that stop you from reading this awesome because cliffhanger or not, Inevitable is one surprising and worth it read.

Inevitable blindly attacked me. Just when I thought I’m just about to read another ordinary contemporary-romance story, I was presented with a warming story that did catch me. It was a definite hit, a three-point shot and a home run for me reading this.

I definitely love Cassandra. From the get go, I harbor this certain likeness for her and fortunately she did not fail me. She’s real and raw; knows her limitations, her strengths and weaknesses. Her moment of weakened with her ex has now passed and getting her own life back in track is her goal. She's a one of a kind heroine that never fails to amaze me with the choices she made. I idolize her for always seeming to make the right ones.

Logan is the mysterious yet cocky new neighbor that Cassie has. He's upfront from the start that he's the no-relationship kind of guy; in fact he may even come as a man-whore. But you can't help yourself if you fall right? Plus his kid Oliver is such a cutie! He's this four-year-old guy that seemed to be too mature for his young age. The only issue I have with him is that it seems like he lack a certain quality that I can’t quite point. Maybe the author just forgot to mention that he’s more. Yes he's a caring dad and brother, responsible and stuff but what more? He mentioned that he’s no relationship kind of guy so what could offer to Cassie. Even though at the end, he tried to salvage his reputation, I just can’t easily accept it. I just need more justification and proving.

As Will Cooper said, 'Death. The only inevitable thing in life', but now I know that that is not the only thing that is inevitable, Falling In Love is another thing that is inevitable in life. Logan and Cassie are fighting it, but as I’ve said, when you fall, you fall right?

Hilary and Caleb, I really thought that the next book would be about you two, but I was wrong. They’re both good friends to Cassie and seeing them be together is such a sweet addition to the story. Maybe we'll get to see their story soon but for now, let’s focus on Logan and Cassie. ;)

Just when I thought I'm reaching the end of it all, I was surprised to be brought on with a huge, epically heartbreaking and gut wrenching cliffhanger, hence the reason for my letter to the author above. I can't believe it. I've read this thinking that though it belonged in a series, I’m hoping that it’s the kind of series where the next books are about a different set of characters but boy I was so wrong that's why I'm so not prepared for the way it ended. I honestly need and crave for the next book now.

I have no disappointments in reading this book. Wonderfully woven story that literally makes me crave for me. You really do hit me Angela Graham!

There were quite a lot of things that I really didn't like about this book. The main thing being both the main characters were so bloody irritating.

Cassandra pretty much thought that every lassie except her was a slut, tramp or a skank. It was rage inducing. She also had the maturity of a spoon. I cringed every time she spoke or had a thought.

Logan was made out to be this misunderstood playboy, with all these hidden "layers". What he really was? A total dickhead.

This just didn't work for me at all.

It’s like a hundred other books I’ve read and presently, I’m not in the mood for the predictability. I’m not particularly enamoured by the heroine and the hero is frankly a jerk I can’t be bothered with.

Don't get me started on how I WANT the next book. I saw a promo for this and when I went to Amazon to buy it I saw people has the absolute sheer stupidity to take stars off a rating because it was a book 1 in the series. It is clear and explicit that it is a series and not a standalone read. Why be negative? I don't understand that. The author didn't say it is a series and book one is tied up with a little bow and perfect ending. No matter how many times I saw "cliffhanger" in the reviews I still wanted to scream. For me I totally defend the book, series and the cliffhanger. Maybe I should go through some like The Siren, how long did we wait for book 2. Oh wait Kristen Ashley cranks them out so fast and I waited for Dream Man. I didn't see people bitch that she produced with no sequel ready either. Oh let me please mention Gabriel and his Inferno how long was that??? Give me a break and read on....

It reminded me a lot of a Kristen Ashley book. I don't ever say that easily or lightly. The characters for example were really good. Start with Cassandra. A really young, raw, naive, jilted, smart, 22 year old and recent college grad. She has been wronged and is not the usual example of being wronged. She deals with it in her own way. I liked her style!

Then her best friend Hillary is great. They are similar in many ways and the relationship works for me. You learn about her Grandparents, her Mother Felicia and her beginnings.

Now for the Caleb and Hillary thing; she crushed on him since, well forever This is another reason why the supporting cast in a book is so vital. It is needed. This book has great bones, strong foundation and a structure that is now solid.

Mark is the loser who was caught with the tramp Mackenzie in page 4. She shows up again a few times and well he does too.

So forge ahead and let me say Logan is juicy! He is a great character who, like the others, is well rounded. He is who he is, does what he does and has no regrets. He is truthful and bold and that is why I liked the character. He has a history that is discussed and you will get the reason why he is so delicious to me.

Last in the support arena is Oliver, Logan's son who is 4 and Julia, his sister. Julia is a bit of a spitfire with major opinions on Logan;s lifestyle. She never hides or shy's away from what she thinks is right or wrong. There will be a point where she really shows her loyalty to Logan and Oliver.

Pull yourself together Cassandra! So many times she says this and I get a laugh out of it.

I love the way the book had drama, bad dates, scary dates, good morning jog scenes, and friendship. That being said I loved it and I am giving a bunch away!

I really enjoyed this book but I obviously should have checked people's reviews for a warning about that cliff hanger!!! Grr I don't want to wait for the next book, I want to know what happens with Logan and Cassie right now!
Other than that though the book was really good. Lots of laughs. I probably had a silly grin on my face for most of the book because of Logan and Cassie's banter. I loved it. I will be impatiently waiting for the next book.

How did I NOT know this had a cliffhanger??! Seriously I need to research my books more.

This book was great though - I loved the premise, it was something new. I love Logan, I love how involved he is with his family. I felt really bad for him at the end... but whoa... what an ending! I cant wait for the next one.

Part of me wants to wait for book two until I give my final opinion. This is definitely one of those books that is really part one of a story. While it wasn't one of those cliffhangers where I want to pull out my hair and throw things - everything between Cassie and Logan is very much up in the air at the end of the book.

I have to be honest, I really didn't like Logan or Cassie in the beginning of the book. Logan is a hardcore manwhore. And yes, while he is pulls some seriously douchey moves in the beginning, I have to say I was judging him more harshly because he was a single Dad. Oliver was just such a sweetheart and the thought of his Dad acting like that just turned my stomach.

Cassie was the classic case of "I know he's a manwhore, and I'm going to pretend I hate him, while I secretly lust after him". I'm not sure why it irritated me so much, but the fact that she was still attracted to him after he was coming onto her when she thought he was married with a family just didn't ring completely true to me, especially given her past with Mark.

All that said, they both more than won me over. Cassie kept her libido in check (even after Logan became more than just a pretty face and hot body) and Logan, yeah, he totally turned around.

Actually, I guess he really didn't change, so much as he let Cassie in, and she got to see that there was a whole lot more to him that sex on legs. By Christmas, he has completely won me over. Talk about a sweetheart.

Up until then, the books had been fairly drama free. But, as all good readers know - just when things start to go well, it's time for everything to fall apart spectacularly. And boy, did it ever! The last 10% of the book was like one long "oh shit" moment.

I will definitely be reading book two. I'm hopefully from the direction of the storyline the last few chapters, but I can see there is going to be a whole bunch of drama and angst for Cassie and Logan to go through before they get their HEA.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I loved Cassie and Logan - and most of all Oliver (although I have to say he was very well spoken for a four year old :). I liked the natural progression of Cassie and Logan's relationship (no insta love here!). I'm anxious to see how everything is going to work itself out.

"I would never give up. I was hers and someday she would be mine."

Cassandra had been dealt a rough hand at the beginning of the novel. She thought she had the perfect life, perfect boyfriend of five wonderful years and the perfect job. That is until she comes home to find said perfect boyfriend, Mark, screwing the town slut...

She immediately moves out, even with the begging Mark continues to do to get her back. Her grandmother ad left a house in the country to her so that's where she went. She got a job at the local elementary school teaching kindergarten. Things seemed to be looking up for Cassandra.

Soon after, the house or mansion next door is sold to a single father, Logan, and his four year old son, Oliver. Cassandra finds Oliver in her childhood tree house frightened by a rat and they become fast friends then and there. After meeting the adorable Oliver, Cassandra meets his aunt, who will end up having something major in common with Cassandra, then Logan. When they meet more than just sparks are flying around these two. This is where things start to get hot and interesting...

Logan is a hot, single father, and one of the biggest playboys in town. He had been screwed over by his ex wife, Natasha. In order to forget is pain over Natasha's betrayal, he drinks and screws random women frequently. A relationship s the last thing he wants after the disaster of a marriage he once lived through. Natasha took a caring, young man and turned him into a cold, sinister man. At least that's the side most people saw.

“She broke his heart,” Julia said, reading my mind. “Oliver’s mother was everything to Logan. She left shortly before Oliver’s first birthday and hasn’t come around since.”

Logan started pursuing Cassie as he does many women, for that one time hook up. But somewhere along the way he began to care for her. Even though he treated women as nothing more than sexual release Logan treated his family extremely well. He loved his son and his sister more than anything. And watching his son fall in love with Cassie, and Cassie fall for the very lovable Oliver started to change his view on Cassie. But that doesn't mean that Logan doesn't still have trust issues when it comes to women coming into Oliver's life.

“I’m glad Oliver likes you…and that you’re…kind to him but…” He looked down, fidgeting with his hands placed over his knees in front of him. “Please, don’t make any more promises to my son, Cassandra.”
“Logan, I—”
“Just don’t,” he said, firmly closing the subject just as the fireworks began filling the sky.”

“I’ll never want anything more from you than your body. So either give me what I want—” He threw the condom at me and I watched it fall to my feet. “Or leave me the hell alone.”

Just when I thought things were going to work out both of their exes come into the picture. Not only that, but one devastating event will cause a heart breaking outcome. One person will be struggling while the others heart is left shredded.

"I would never give up. I was hers and someday she would be mine."

I LOVED this book. The sexual tension was through the roof! I connected emotionally with Cassie, Logan and Oliver. The story was heart warming, and heart breaking in equal measures. I was completely immersed in their struggle to overcome the past an make a life for themselves. The changes I saw in Logan because of Cassie were amazing. I could go on and on about everything I loved about Inevitable.

“I’ve never had much patience, Cassandra. When I want something, I take it as soon as it’s available.”

I give Inevitable 4.5 Stars! I wouldn't change a single thing about this book. And just to let you know....there is a pretty big cliffhanger. But not to worry, the second book should be out really soon. I HIGHLY recommend you read this book and be prepared for the continuation in the next book to be an amazing finish. I am officially a fan of Angela's!

Rating: A ... Heat: Sweet

Cassie Clarke is twenty two years old and fresh out of college. She’s recently moved into her grandparents old house and is trying to prepare for her first year as a kindergarten teacher. Life is simple. Life is quiet. After a bad breakup—nothing says you're over like finding your boyfriend in bed with another woman—Cassie has given up dating. Given up on men in general, since none seem to do anything for her anyway. That is, until her sexy new neighbor moves in next door.

Logan West, a rich and successful single dad, has just moved into Harmony to be near his sister while she goes to college. Logan is… Logan will break your heart, that's for sure. It's easy to fall for him but definitely not easy to like him all the time. He is a manwhore—constantly bringing strange home when his son’s away. And poor Cassie seems to be made all too aware of that fact. Repeatedly. It stings, each and every time, let me tell you. But when you see him with his son, his protectiveness and his devotion, you know there is more to him than he’s willing to show.

Cassie and Logan spark the moment they meet. The man seems to get under her skin almost immediately. No one can rile Cassie up like Logan, whose flirty ways only seem to bristle instead of charm her. Until she starts to—slowly—see the man beneath all that ice, behind the playboy veneer. And Logan's son, Oliver, plays a huge part in that. You can't help but be captivated by Oliver in all his four year old innocence and joy. Both Cassie and Logan always put Oliver first. Always. Even if it means Cassie can never give in to her attraction for Logan. Not if it means hurting Oliver, which neither wants to do.

Cassie and Logan have a very sweet and complicated romance. It may not be filled with lots of hot sexy times, but I was captivated by them nonetheless (and considering my often smutty ways, that's saying something). Cassie and Logan have a friends-on-the-verge-of-lovers romance that is full of jealousy and anger and more than a few hurt feelings.... But there is also friendship and respect and a lot of vulnerability. Neither one wants to trust the other only to have it blow up in their face again. It’s not easy for a relationship kind of girl to love a guy who only gives one night.

Inevitable sucked me in and didn’t let me go until the very end. I loved watching Cassie  fight her attraction for her love ‘em and leave ‘em neighbor. How can you resist a man who makes your whole body light up, even when you know it'll only lead to heartache? You can’t. I felt for Cassie so much. And I felt for Logan and his damaged, broken self too. I cried. Then cried some more. Then wanted to cry again because it ended... in a cliffhanger. A doozy of a cliffhanger, really. The story takes a very dramatic turn at the end. Expect a few tears to fall. Not sure how long we have to wait for the next book but, really, any amount of time is too long.

Favorite Quote:

"Logan, we can't," I breathed, pulling myself back to reality.

Every part of me wanted to kiss him back with the same passion that radiated off him, but I knew that he couldn't give me what I needed. I wanted a real relationship with a shot at a real future. Logan was sweet and gorgeous and said all the right things, but I couldn't let myself forget, he was also a notorious playboy. I was nothing more than a small town teacher, searching for my epic love, not just hot sex with a friend.

Inevitable – Angela Graham

4 stars!!

For a debut novel, this was a fab read. A true romance novel, with some laughter, love, lust, angst and the most cutest adorable little boy called Oliver. There was no instalust/love but was more a journey of two people getting to know one another before taking the next step, but will they get to the next step??? As with any story of romance/love, the course never runs smooth and this is no exception.

After catching her high school sweetheart that she had been with forever cheating on her Cassie ups sticks and goes and lives in the house that had been bequeathed to her..she renovates it, gets a job as a kindergarten teacher and life begins to get better, she is slowly getting over the betrayal and getting her life back on track. Cassie loves to run and whilst out running she catches a glimpse of the man moving into the mansion next door to her. He has a little boy, she sees a woman and instantly assumes it must be a family moving in.

However, not all is at it seems and Cassie soon finds out Logan is a single dad and raising Oliver alone with the help of his sister. But there is a big BUT, Logan is a player, makes no secret of the fact and in fact Cassie sees and hears a lot of his “ladies” comings and goings. Determined not to get involved despite the instant attraction she feels for Logan she keeps well away.

Logan is drawn to Cassie too, however after being burned badly by Oliver’s mother he is reluctant to put himself out there again, however he values Cassie as a friend, especially because of the relationship that she has built up with Oliver, little Oliver adores her.

This book kept me reading, I could not put it down, the interaction between Logan, Cassie and Oliver was adorable. Despite Logan being the player, you could see that he was starting to mellow and the realisation dawn that perhaps he did actually want more with Cassie. I loved Cassie, although she was quite quiet and reserved she could give as good as she got and Logan was more than often on the receiving end.

It is always an enjoyable read to see a relationship build slowly and this did and never got boring. As I was approaching the end of the book I did think this is all going so well, where is the sucker punch…then it came and I was like OMG!!!!!!! No, no, no, no, no you did not just go there….then I was like OMG then I was like OMG it’s finished…just like that…you cannot end it there…where is the next one, I want the next one…no I NEED THE NEXT one!!

As cliff hangers go, it is not too bad, but you really want to finish their story so I for one will definitely be buying the next one!!

Blog Tour Stop at HEA BOOK SHELF: http://heabookshelf.blogspot.com/2013...

"Things don't always work out the way you plan, sweetheart, but I swear to you, you are everything that any smart, deserving man could ever ask for."

Cassandra definitely found out the hard way that sometimes life will surprise when you least expect it. After being humiliated and heartbroken by her long-term boyfriend, she moves to a house her grandparents left her outside the city. A year after her break up, she has been focusing on herself and preparing for her new job as a kindergarten teacher. When the estate next to her house is sold, life once again was about to surprise Cassie.
"I've never had much patience, Cassandra. When I want something, I take it as soon as it's available."

Meet hot and irresistible ladies man, Logan. Personally, I had a love/hate relationship with him. He really knew how to piss me off and make me feel all angsty. Yet at the same time, he made me swoon ! So yeah, he has a soft and romantic side too.
"... I realized I wanted nothing more than to protect you. From your ex, from anyone that could hurt you."

"She was everything, and for the first time in my life, I knew I would never want anyone else."

Getting wind of his reputation, Cassie wanted nothing more than to stay away from him. But given the fact that Logan has the most adorable 4 year old son, Oliver, her plan flew out the window. Slowly they developed an amazing friendship but the sexual tension and physical attraction was very much always present. Both wanting to have more.
"I need you. You're all I've ever needed. All I've ever wanted."

"You have my heart, my soul, my everything."

There are a lot of ups and downs in this story. I found myself swooning, feeling angry, at times giggling over the dialogue, and overall, pretty hooked! And let me tell you, for a book without sex, this was a pretty sexy read..

BUT, I must warn you.. CLIFFHANGER ALERT !!!!
This goes without saying, but I'm really looking forward for the sequel which will be the conclusion to Logan and Cassie's story! *eeek*
"This was love. Unconditional, all-consuming, mind-blowing love."

A Must Read!
May 30, 2013
I was given this arc to review honestly.

So I have to tell you right off the bat, I am not a huge fan of NA or YA. I just found that as I have gotten older I lack the interest in younger stories. But this one was different. The story was complex and written in a way that made me care about the heroine and hero regardless of their ages. It also helped, I think, because the hero has a young son in this too.

Cassie is young and vibrant and heartbroken. We begin the story with the devastation that has her spinning when she realizes that her relationship of 5 years has just been ended due to her boyfriends infidelity. I actually felt her panic and anger from page one. Can't say that is a normal thing for me. I sat there after the prologue and said to myself "This is going to be a long journey." I had no idea how true those words would be.

Cassie moves into her grandparents old house and slowly rebuilds her life. A rather lonely, one friend, sort of life. All that changes when Logan and his son Oliver (I adore that name btw) move in next door. Cassie sees Logan as a shallow empty sex machine, and falls in love with little Oliver. We see them build a friendship slowly that burns with an undercurrent of desire and need. But given both have a rather bad track record with love, they both hesitate to move forward.

Logan is a sex machine alright. He goes through women in a rather harsh way, one night stand after one night stand. Cassie is just another woman he wants to take to bed, but she manages to hold him at bay and keep him interested in having her in his life. Something that even his family notices as different. As their friendship builds, so does the tension. And of course we see it break at a New Year's Eve party.

Logan's ex, and mother of his son, comes back to try to rebuild a life with her family. Logan doesn't want her anymore and sees through her tricks. But seeing her has messed with his head, and he says some horrible things to Cassie. Cassie knowing that Logan isn't dealing well tries to set it right. But ultimately can't. She leaves and things become worse. Cassie has an accident and Logan is feeling the guilt.

This book was so well written that I had no idea I was done with it. It ends on a cliffhanger, which makes me crazy. But it was so good that I really never saw the cliffy coming, so that says something. =)

I give this book 4.5 lipsticks! Go pick it up!

Cassandra finds out the hard way that Life can always be unexpected and sometimes Heartbreak is in the shadows. After finding her Boyfriend cheating on her She moves to the outskirts of town into a House her grandparents left for her. As she is preparing to start her new job as a teacher and get her life back together the estate next door sells and in moves Logan , his 4 yr old Son Oliver, and his sister Julia.

“I'll never give up. You have my heart, my soul, my everything. When you're ready, I'll be here."

Logan Sexy, Swoon worthy, Single dad . I liked how one of the main characters had a Child, It is not often you see that in a story. He has been hurt by his ex, and has been raising his son with the help of his sister Julia. He is a playboy, after being hurt he does what most men do and just goes out with chics for the sex. He does not want to let anyone in for fear of not only his own heart being broken but his son’s heart as well. Oliver is his number 1 priority though and you see that throughout the book.

Oliver is so funny, I loved how his friendship with Cassandra Brought Her and Logan closer together throughout the story.
The sexual tension builds with these two and you know they want each other but neither one wants to completely take the chance of being hurt.

"She was everything, and for the first time in my life, I knew I would never want anyone else."

Their relationship slowly starts to build and I love how it played out. I love that they did not just jump into bed with each other from the beginning. There are some ups and downs throughout but it builds to the story as well.

"This was love. Unconditional, all-consuming, mind-blowing love."

There is a Cliffhanger Dang it and I can not wait for book 2 and see where their relationship goes ,. I am sure we will get our HEA.

"Things don't always work out the way you plan, sweetheart, but I swear to you, you are everything that any smart, deserving man could ever ask for."

This is one of those books I've been meaning to read FOREVER but I would always remember it just after I started a different one. After a week of reading books that included a hitman, trained killer, rapist, mafia, mob, human trafficking, BDSM, ETC... I was wanting to read something a little sweeter! This delivered what I needed.

My favorite thing about Logan is his use of the word "Sweetheart" when he talks to Cassandra. My #1 favorite book-boyfriend endearment. Logan kept telling her there was a lot about him she didn't know. I kept wanting to know it. I kept thinking/hoping he had some secret - whether good or bad.

I think I'm starting to actually LIKE cliffhanger books! Going into this book, I knew there was a cliffhanger and I got the feeling it was a big one. Maybe I'm cruel, but I think I would have actually stopped the book a chapter or two earlier and REALLY left the reader hanging! :)

Wow!!!! Really loved it, was captivated by the story, couldn't stop reading. Logan and Cassandra are really fighting their attraction for each other but deep down they can't keep away from.

Ooohhhh... Can't wait for the next one!!

This story is primarily about Cassandra who has just landed her first job teaching after leaving college. Cassandra is quite a loner having been hurt emotionally a year ago when her boyfriend Mark of five years broke her heart. He cheated, and she walked in on them thus changing her life and view of love completely. Cassandra, who was extremely humiliated by Mark, has now sworn off men and prefers her own company and that of her best friend.

As Cassandra is setting herself up in her new life the house next door sells and an intriguing new neighbour moves in; a single Dad named Logan and his four year old son Oliver. Cassie is immediately attracted to Logan and fascinated by what his story might be. Logan is gorgeous, fit and has a controlling and mysterious edge to him. She’s in lust! As it turns out so is Logan, but……his intentions are completely different, driven by his past and his emotional scars. Cassie realises that Logan is a no-go for her and resists his every advance, however as she grows fond of Oliver this proves more and more difficult. I adored Oliver; he was so sweet and funny yet strangely mature. Probably my favourite character in this story. Relationships, feeling and intentions change building up to a huge climax when their story ends on a huge cliff-hanger. Yes…..HUGE!!!

“I’ve never had much patience, Cassandra. When I want something I just take it.” – Logan

So, what did I think? I thought Inevitable started really well. I was enjoying it. The character build up was smooth and there was lots of funny and sarcastic banter and intrigue.

“And by the way I enjoyed your pool very much. It’s a shame that you never got me that wet.” -Cassandra

Then it fell a bit flat for me. Nothing literally happened to excite me and I started getting annoyed with the characters. I ended up disliking Logan immensely for his man–slut ways and behaviour and Cassie turned way too wishy-washy in my opinion. The way they acted and behaved for about half of their story started grating on me. I’m not sure that this backwards and forwards wasn’t taken too far. And as for redeeming themselves, well it’s a close call.

To be honest with you, I’m still not a 100% sure on my thoughts and feelings about this book. It truly stumped me. I really enjoyed it in many parts and then not in others. Yeah, I’m so confused….have to be honest here right?! This is one of those stories that needs to be discussed I think.

Now, I have to say it was so refreshing not to have any nookie for once. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of nookie in my books. But the way this ‘almost romance’ played out amongst the drama was quite sweet and suggestively sensual. Their attraction was very well written. I loved the friendship between Logan and Cassie that came as a result of Oliver; their flirting and then ultimately admitting their honest feelings. I also loved how we got Logan’s pov right at the end. We got to hear his voice. We got that insight we’d been missing!

“I’ll never give up. You have my heart, my soul, my everything. When you’re ready, I’ll be here.” -Logan

I just wish we’d had it earlier as it may have helped my opinion of him, knowing some of the reasons behind his behaviour and how he really felt towards Cassie.

“I wanted you that night, Cassandra. More than I’ve ever wanted any woman. But I’m thankful every day that you wouldn’t let me have my way…. We wouldn’t be here today if I had slept with you.” – Logan

The cliff-hanger; well what can I really say? This Author’s writing is pretty fab because the way it was pulled right back was so surprising. I wasn’t sure I was going to pick up the second book in this series before I reached the end. But now…..well now I HAVE TO! Well played…very clever!!

Oh no, you aren't doing this to me! How could you?! How could you leave me like this?! You're so mean to me!
This book was every shade of beautiful!
Every emotion imaginable was there. It was hot, sexy, fun, sad, frustrating, angering, made me smile, cry like an idiot, made angry, annoyed, sad, disgusted, hopeful, hopeless... It was a mix of so many emotions, it made me dizzy.
I liked Cassandra a lot and related to her. In some ways she's much like me. I understood her rather well and shared most of her feelings.
I can't say I liked Logan much. Some times I just plain hated him. And I was even rather disgusted with him a few times. That's probably never happened with a male main character in a book. I might not like a character much but not at this level. Although it was obvious he felt something more than lust and friendship for Cassandra, he kept acting like he didn't have a care in the world and just wanted sex with her. And some of his angry outbursts just pissed me off and disgusted me to no end. Especially the final strow he threw at her at New Year's Eve party. I "watched" the scene unfold, wide-eyed, shocked, disgusted, angry, disappointed and a hundred shades of sad. Especially the accident. I cried like a fountain. Fat sad tears. God, it was awful
I liked Oliver a lot, he was so cute and lovely.
I kind of liked Caleb too. Hilary was okay, nothing special, but not bad.
Mark made me sick. Kurt was creepy. Luke was okay, but there was no spark. Nothing special.
I liked Cassandra's mother.
I must say I didn't expect the ending. I mean, I thought it was a stand alone book. I didn't know there would be a second, final, book that has yet to come out. Or I would have damn waited until the release of said sequel. Goddamnit, now I'm stuck, waiting here for Fall to arrive and the book to come out and hungry to know what will happen to Cassie and Logan.
Angela Graham, you are going to kill me. I know that. I'm hoping on an ARC of the sequel. I just can't wait until Fall. And this cliff hanger isn't helping at all either.
Disappointing end aside, I really enjoyed reading this book.
Altgough it shows 4 stars, it's more like 3.5 or 3.75 stars. The endig really left me a bitter taste in my mouth.

Cassandra is a kindergarten teacher, she has come out college and out of a long relationship of 5 years.
After being left a house by her grandfather she settles in to the new job and a new start.
Then Logan the sexy, rich neighbour moves in and the chemistry between them is there straight away.
Logan makes it clear from the start he doesn't date nor does he do relationships, so anything between Cassandra and him will be no more than friends, or maybe friends with benefits. The only person in his life at the moment is his son..Oliver and he makes a point of making sure Oliver doesn't get hurt again.

My thoughts
Mixed feeling on this book. I went into it knowing there was a cliff hanger at the end and because there's still alot more to write about this couple that was not a problem for me.
It was really Logan and Cassandra's relationship.
Will I read the next book...Yes!!!
3.5

3.75 stars... Maybe?

I don't really know how I feel about this book. Cassandra was definitely the highlight of the book. She's a pretty strong woman. She had a shitty breakup, but she just kept trucking. She was maybe a little more lenient about things than I'd like, but she stuck to her guns when it really counted.

As for Logan... he's the reason for my iffy feelings. I pretty much thought he was scum for the first half of the book. He's a single father, and he's amazing with his son. But he was also the biggest douche-playboy I may have read about. I mean, he just spread himself around the ladies. Some of the things he did just left me disgusted. And the way he spoke to Cassandra was so arrogant and patronizing. But about halfway through he did become what I would call a human being. You got to see another side, and it was actually sweet.

But the buildup finally came to a head in the last 10% and then it all went to hell. I mean, come on. I was finally sort of on board with these two getting together and then bam. We're left kind of hanging.

Although i wasn't too keen on the hero, I was thoroughly engrossed in the story. I'll definitely be reading the second book, if only to see how Cassandra and Logan work things out.

5 Charming Stars

Warning: Cliffhanger

Cassie Clarke is twenty two years old, recently moved into her grandparents old house and preparing for her first year as a kindergarten teacher. After a bad breakup, Cassie has given up dating. Given up on men in general until her sexy new neighbor moves in next door.

Logan West, wealthy and successful single dad, who just moved into Harmony to be closer to his sister while she goes to college.
