I say, "Colors!" You say, "Fun!" Explore the world of colors with 8 lift-the flaps.
These colorful, playful books encourage interactive learning through prediction and repetition; but most importantly, they look really fun. --Dr. Robert Needlman, co-founder of Reach Out and Read and author of Dr. Spock's Baby Basics
This addition to Tad Carpenter's collection of "call and response" books features the signature alternating flaps and vivid illustrations readers have grown to enjoy. The final two-page spread, featuring many colors (with a shout out to black and white), felt a little disappointing. In sticking with the previous, successful formula of eight featured pairs per book, Carpenter was unable to integrate the colors brown and pink (...although readers could be prompted to find those colors in the illustrations).
Great for storytimes for littles! A fun, lift-the-flap book teaching littles about color and the world around them. Endearing illustrations and a good review of colors on the last page.
I SAY, YOU SAY COLORS! is a cute book. The artwork is bright and cheerful and the format is fun as it gives little one's a chance to participate in the reading.
The format is that the adult says something and then the child(ren) reply. Here's an example:
"I say sun, you say..." "YELLOW!"
"I say grass, you say..." "GREEN!"
The pictures for Yellow show the sun and yellow kites with the happy animals flying them. The pictures for Green show animals playing soccer. So there is lots to talk about. The colors, the animals, and their activities.
SUMMARY This is a nice little boardbook. The pages are highly plasticized, and the flaps fold out in different directions. (That took a little getting used to ;) Colors addressed are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Black-and-White.. with the last scenario showing all the colors and a rainbow.
This is a great book to read aloud to ECE level readers! Not only does it associate objects and colors, but it makes it engaging and fun. Great pictures and lots of bright colors.
