Some of the prose is a bit clumsy and I believe it may have been translated from another language. It was an enjoyable read about the artist but mostly about his work. I enjoyed the in depth descripitons of his works and it has beautiful detailed reproductions. Also went into how his style changed and what were his influences.
I now have a new-found respect and admiration for Titian. He is indeed one exceptional painter of his time. His style of combining "Tuscan 'design' with Venetian 'color'" along with the very dynamic pictorial narrative, and the very profound symbolism in his paintings makes him a truly remarkable artist! He has become another Renaissance fave of mine!
