Describes traditional woodcrafting techniques and presents challenging projects for creating agricultural implements, baskets, and household furnishings
This book harkens to the time when if you needed something on the farm you built it out of wood with a few simple metal implements. From furniture, to farm implements, to woven shopping baskets, the long forgotten techniques that require slow and careful craftmanship and an understanding of local materials are discussed, and with practice, the reader could create any of the old devices the book talks about.
On this farm I use a metal plow and a tractor, thank you, but I work with wood all the time, and this book has contributed much to my understanding of making things with wood and offers some practical methods for solving problems using whatever is available. Good sense never goes out of style.

This book has detailed descriptions and pictures of all types of country woodcraft projects. They have great info on the workshop, agricultural implements, and household crafts. I was particularly interested in the spoons and shaving horse.
